Complaint: Opened a XXXX XXXX card from American Express, with a signup bonus of XXXX Membership Rewards points after spending {$5000.00} within the first 3 months of the account being opened. I opened this card on XXXX of XXXX, and met the spend requirement in XXXX. Since then, I have had to contact American Express multiple times about the points not being awarded to my account. In XXXX, I was told that the issue was under investigation, and that a decision would be made by 8 weeks. On XXXX XXXX, I once again contacted Amex to see if progress was made. I was told by the customer service representative that the case was closed in my favor, and that the points would be " soon ''. The cause of the this delay was apparently a " technical issue ''. For over 5 months I received no information about the existence, cause, or resolution of this issue and had to contact Amex multiple times to check my case 's progress. Finally, after contacting two representatives on Amex 's chat tool, I was told that I would need to wait another statement period for the points to be awarded. Amex has already taken responsibility for this " technical issue '' and has offered very little in amending the situation.

Complaint: I signed up for the delta american express gold credit card. I was told i would receive XXXX skymiles & XXXX $ statement credit once i reached the requirements. The requirements were to spend over XXXX $ in the first 3 months. I completed that task by 5x & never obtained the XXXX skymiles from american express. The XXXX $ statement credit did go through, however. I have called three times regarding this issue and I keep getting no where. It has been almost 5 months since i opened the account with american express and I expect to get better treatment than this.

Complaint: I am filing a new complaint to dispute the response that American Express recently provided to my CFPB complaint # XXXX, with their Ref : XXXX. In their correspondence dated XXXX XXXX, XXXX, they assert that they reviewed a call on XXXX XXXX, XXXX in which I was offered the pay over time feature, that the representative read me a disclosure and that I agreed to the enrollment. American Express has clearly changed their position, as stated in their response. In the two previous and lengthy calls that I had with them concerning this complaint, the representatives and the managers who I spoke with, after putting me on hold for long stretches at a time, were insistent to me that I had elected to enroll in this feature online, on the XXXX website. And that this was also the reason they could n't show me any further proof of this transaction. So they have now changed their story from what they had adamantly represented as taking place online. I do not want an apology for the 'misunderstanding ' as they referred to it -- what I want is the proof. If in fact they 'reviewed a call on XXXX XXXX, XXXX ', then clearly they have it on tape and I am requesting that this recording be played for me as evidence of their new claim. If in fact these calls are recorded for just this purpose, then it should not be an issue to review.

Complaint: my wife and I both have American Express Cards. We pay on time always the bills we receive from them. Yet sometimes we receive late fees charged to us. I believe that AMEX is not crediting according to the postal date or even near it. I believe that these late fees are fraudulent and a way to increase revenue and income. The CFPB should investigate this matter and require that AMEX refund fraudulent late charges.

Complaint: On XXXX XXXX, I was persuaded to open a new XXXX XXXX credit card account with American Express with a welcome bonus offer. The bonus offered XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in exchange for opening this account and meeting an initial spend of {$1000.00} in 3 months of account opening. XXXX XXXX points are worth approximately {$400.00} when valued at half a cent each. I met this spending requirement on XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. I confirmed this with American Express customer service via their chat function on their website in XXXX. I was told the bonus could take up to 90 days from the statement close to post. The statement where I met the welcome bonus closed on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX I did not receive my XXXX XXXX points as promised. On or around XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted American Express customer service via their chat function. They informed me that there was a technical glitch and that an internal inquiry would be created to investigate the issue. I was told such inquires can take up to 30 days to resolve. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called American Express customer service on the phone to check on the inquiry. I was told the inquiry was still open and to check back after the 30 days had elapsed. They also informed me that I would be receiving an explanation in the mail and I may need to wait 4-6 weeks from the inquiry opening. On XXXX XXXX, XXXX, I did not receive my points. On XXXX XXXX, XXXX, I had still not received my points. I contacted American Express customer service via their chat function. They informed me that I would need to wait 4-6 weeks from the inquiry for the issue to be resolved. I have heard that I am not the only customer experiencing these issues with American Express following through on their promotions in a timely manner. Even though I have been assured by American Express that I met all requirements to receive my bonus, the bank appears unwilling to honor their obligation to me in the time frame promised. I am extraordinarily unhappy and suspect that American Express is attempting to defraud some of its customers by not following through on their obligations and hiding behind the excuse of a glitch. I wonder if an inquiry to make me whole ever would have been created had I not contacted American Express regarding this issue. Perhaps they would have simply kept both the profits from me and their welcome bonus. American Express must credit my account immediately or additional steps will be taken to collect my promised bonus. THE COLORADO CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT : ( 2 ) any person who, in a private civil action, is found to have engaged in or caused another to engage in any deceptive trade practice listed in this article shall be liable in an amount equal to the sum of : ( a ) The greater of : ( I ) The amount of actual damages sustained ; or ( II ) Five hundred dollars ; or ( III ) Three times the amount of actual damages sustained, if it is established by clear and convincing evidence that such person engaged in bad faith conduct ( C.O.S. 6-1-113 )

Complaint: Hi, I open an American Express XXXX credit card in XX/XX/XXXX, and it advertised that after I spent XXXX within 90 days ( and extra XXXX within first 6 months ), then I will receive XXXX points. So I open an account. However, I did not receive any welcome rewards points now ( XX/XX/XXXX ). I called them in XX/XX/XXXX, and they said they need to do some investigations for about 4-6 weeks. After 2 months, I still did not receive the points. Then I called them again in early XX/XX/XXXX., and they said I will receive my point within 10 days. However, I still did not receive the point, and they hanged me off when I called back. So far, I still did not receive any rewards point as they advertised or promised.

Complaint: I negotiated a settlement a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for a judgement against me from XXXX which resulted in a lien being placed against my property. XXXX XXXX XXXX received payment in full on this settlement on XXXX XXXX, XXXX. I was told that within 30 days I would receive a satisfaction of judgement and that the lien would be released. In a letter I received from them on XXXX XXXX, XXXX they state : " Upon receipt and clearance of your payment ( s ) for the settlement amount, no further attempts will be made to collect the remaining balance. XXXX XXXX XXXX will submit a request to the attorney of record, or its appointed entity, to file a satisfaction of judgement with the In The Metropolitan Court of XXXX XXXX, NM and release any lien ( s ) that may be associted with Docket XXXX. '' I have contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX multiple times requesting a status on the satisfaction of judgement and each time I 'm given a different story and they refuse to product the document. After 30 days they still have not issued the satisfaction of judgement and will not give me an answer as to when they will produce this document and remove the lien from my property.

Complaint: On XXXX XXXX, XXXX I called XXXX to inquire about the process to add an additional card holder to my account. I inquired about if there would be a hard inquiry placed on my credit report by adding another cardholder. I asked this question by phone, as well as by Online Chat agent. Both representatives told me that XXXX does not run credit checks when adding an additional card holder. I explained to both representatives that I would not be willing to add anyone as an additional card holder if it would affect my credit and/or credit score. I was assured by both representatives that there would be absolutely no impact to my credit file. After hearing this, I proceeded with completing an application to add an additional member to my card account. Two days later, I received a credit monitoring alert that my credit file had been accessed by XXXX. When I called XXXX to inquire why they would pull my credit report without my authorization, they explained to me that the XXXX representatives had failed to communicate the possibility of pulling my credit report due to a Fraud alert being on my file. This made no sense to me. XXXX representatives ( a total of 6 ) apologizes for the miscommunication but said I would have to contact XXXX to get it removed. XXXX informed me that only XXXX could request it be removed. XXXX intentionally deceived and pulled my credit report and decreased my credit score-all WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OR CONSENT. XXXX also refused to correct their mistake. XXXX tried to offer me ANOTHER credit card to rectify the situation in which I told them I would not accept as adding an additional credit card would hurt my credit file even more. As a result I will be closing my accounts and also sharing my experience on social media so no one else is deceived.

Complaint: I received a pre-approved credit card offer from American Express and subsequently applied for the Platinum Card on XXXX XXXX, 2017 ( application # XXXX ). The application was declined and I reached out to American Express New Accounts Team for an explanation - the representative stated that because the reason was that I already have the Platinum Card. I spoke to customer service to have the card account downgraded to another product, and applied again for the Platinum Card on XX/XX/XXXX ( application # XXXX ). The application was turned down for the exact same reason. I called the New Accounts Team asking for a manual review because it was obvious the reasons for the decline were not only inaccurate but also outdated, but the representative kept reiterating the reasons for the decline.
