Complaint: While on a cruise I was looking to by airfare tickets back to NY. Came across Delta, XXXX XXXX offer : if I, XXXX open card with them and would be approved for this promotion, and only then, I will get a temporary card number for buying Delta, s tickets and would get {$150.00} bonus, after I paid for Delta, s tickets with temporary card. And I was approved, got temporary card number, bought tickets, but received bill for entire amount. When I called to Delta and told them about promotion, I was denied base on I had a while ago their card. I might have it, not sure, but while on ship buying tickets on on my I pod, I did not see any mention of any restriction, only affirmation : if you being approved for promotion, and only then, you will get temporary card number to buy tickets right away. I could use XXXX and get cheaper tickets but Delta won my business with this promotion.Please help me, as a XXXX person, {$150.00} means a lot and it is not nice to lie about promotion.

Complaint: I called AMEX twice to add a user to my card. I was told that i can add a user WITHOUT my credit being run - PLEASE AMEX GO LISTEN TO THE PHONE CONVERSATIONS.
Amex ran my credit on two occasions to add a secondary user to my card but on the phone conversation i was told and i verified " You credit will not be pulled '' i did not give consent. I have called and written AMEX for years and many times about the UNAUTHORIZED hard out of my credit .This is illegal and unethical. I did not give permission and i specifically asked to make sure that my credit would not be pulled and was issued that it would not be. It still was an NO ONE WAS ADDED on those two days

Complaint: XXXX this is my prior complaint.
1.XXXX has unecessarily enclosed 62 pages of private material only to further intimidate its customer.
2. XXXX has NEVER responded to the letter sent to XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX headquarters ). Why not? XXXX did not allow the customer to sent an email and/or fax and forced the customer to write a letter.
3.XXXX has stated not to care per XXXX ( badge # XXXX ) American Express supervisor North Carolina XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX EST. " '' you can send all the letters you want but we wo n't give you any answer ''. This can be found on a recorded tape.
4. XXXX has been called several times in XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX regarding the letter sent and each and every time customer was told to wait for an answer and to WAIT WITH PAYING THE FINAL BILL.
5. XXXX has still charged 2 late fees in contradiction with # 4.
6. Customer called XXXX to finally resolve this on XX/XX/XXXX and offered to pay off the WHOLE outstanding amount adjusted for the 2 late fees. This would be XXXX 7. Whenever using XXXX chat there is no way to print the conversation. I have asked XXXX ( for ex. yesterday ) to sent me the transcript and/or provide some way to properly document the conversation. All XXXX states : '' we apologize but we cant do this ''. Why not?
8. XXXX needs to stop lying : stating it credited {$820.00} is not true. XXXX is merely a payment venue with debits and credits going through its payment system. XXXX NEVER gave its customer {$820.00} from XXXX to its customer. XXXX is manipulating the facts as it is well aware that these credits are from 3rd party merchants.

Complaint: On XXXX XXXX I applied for a NEW Blue Cash Preferred account using a promotion that XXXX offered. I received an email from American Express confirming receipt of application and then spoke to a representative. She assured me that although I had a Blue Cash Everyday, since I never had a PREFERRED account I am eligible and will receive these incentives ( a ) no {$95.00} fee the first year ( b ) {$200.00} after spending {$1000.00}.
I have many other XXXX credit cards and had I not been assured of this I would not have opened this account.Nevertheless, I was charged the {$95.00} fee and see no evidence of the {$200.00} bonus.
I spoke to a representative today who claims that I am not entitled to these.

Complaint: I called customer after applying for 2 XXXX cards and the representative stated that it is not approved as I have bad relationship with XXXX as my cards got closed in the past. However, none of my cards EVER gotten cancelled and in fact I have 4 credit cards with XXXX
They sent me in a circle and I talked to 5 representative up to the Manager 's manager. And even then they would not help as they assumed the worst in me. My payments and everything are in perfect standing.

Problem during payment process
Complaint: In the later part of XX/XX/XXXX I received a call from a collection agency that my American Express account had been sent to them for non payment. On XX/XX/XXXX my city was struck by the XXXX storm my home and possessions were flooded. I was left destitute. My family had to walk thru waist deep water to get to high ground to be rescued. From the time I opened the Amex account until XXXX XXXX 2017 I have paid my bill on time, even my XX/XX/XXXX bill was paid on time. My last payment was on or before the XX/XX/XXXX. However XX/XX/XXXX brought about a hardship. I called Amex and explained the situation as was told that I would be excused from paying the XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX bills. In fact I called all my debt account and explained my situation and was told the same. I have a great payment record with them and wish to keep it that way. I made a second call a few weeks later to confirm my being excused from paying XX/XX/XXXX bill just to be on the safe side and was again told that yes, due to the situation Id be excused. However, later that month I was called by a collection agency and told that my Amex account had been turned over to them for non payment. The lady stated that this might be a mistake because she sees that it is less than 60 days behind. I have been contacted by more than one collection agency regarding the Amex account. I find this more than upsetting ; I was a good paying client, I lost my house, my car, all my possessions because of something that I had no control in. I presented this information to Amex and was told that I could miss the XX/XX/XXXX payment without penalty. Yet they submit me to collections ; my credit score has been affected. Collection agencies are harassing me about the Amex account.
Ive had issue with Amex in the past charging interest on purchases when I did not make purchases but this is too far. I am in a position where I need to rely on credit to rebuild life for my family and am being denied because of this stunt from Amex.

Problem with fees
Complaint: On XXXX XXXX I called American Express to downgrade my credit card to a no annual fee Delta Credit Card. American Express agreed to issue the no fee card to replace my current card and to refund me the annual membership fee just charged to my account. My account balance was {$95.00}, which was the annual fee amount that was to be removed. Several weeks later I checked and the fee rebate had not been processed, so I called on XXXX XXXX. I was asured there was no problem, the refund would be made automatically, and they agreed that I did not have to pay my balance ( which was the refund amount ). On XXXX XXXX, I was charged a {$27.00} late fee. When I called and requested that the late fee be removed from my account and that the bank send me a letter stating the late fee charge was a bank error. They agreed to remove the late fee, but would not provide documentation that the fee was in error, since the balance = the refund due that Amex had yet to process. Two days later I again got an e-mail notifying me that I had not paid my balance. I called again and got the same run around. I was told it could take Amex 45 days to process my refund, and if I received additional late charges I could call and go through the story over and over again with the new customer service person.

Complaint: I opened a " XXXX XXXX XXXX Business Credit Card '' through American Express on XX/XX/XXXX. My fiance had watched me open the account and confirmed the signup bonus. American Express was running a promotion for this card - all applicants who apply beforeXX/XX/XXXX receive the following terms : " Earn XXXX bonus starpoints after you use your new card to make {$5000.00} in purchases within the first 3 months and an extra XXXX bonus starpoints after you make an additional {$3000.00} in purchases within the first 6 months. '' I spent {$5000.00} within 3 months and I received the XXXX starwood points as promised - this posted on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. I completed the {$8000.00} spending requirement on XXXX XXXX and waited for my statement day of XXXX XXXX to see if anything had posted - it had not. I created a case in late XXXX / XXXX XXXX with American Express. After the hours of efforts I have spent via chat and several phones calls with XXXX to try to resolve, I have gotten nowhere. they claim that the XXXX promotional bonus was not attached to my account, but I have a screenshot of the application page before I submit that says otherwise. They will not accept the screenshot though, so it appears I am out of luck.
The thing is, I applied on XXXX XXXX via a referral link - i still have the link if required. I have been following this promotion very closely as I had really wanted this credit card. The promotion was started XXXX time and ran through XXXX XXXX. Being so late in the promotional period, the only possible links generated - affiliate, referral, or otherwise - was the XXXX offer. The fact that I do n't have the XXXX offer attached to my account is beyond me. After searching the internet, I have found several other instances of American Express XXXX XXXX XXXX Business credit card account holders who applied in late XXXX having a similar issue with their second bonuses posting. There is even a blog post about it : XXXX XXXX XXXX I can attach any more details, statements, screenshots, or instances of other people on the internet i have found having similar issues.
The XXXX supervisor I discussed with pretty much flat out said I was lying and was asking how I knew more about the card than she did. I mentioned I do n't, but I do n't open credit cards lightly and I did a ton of research before and after getting the card, and all the issues other people had. The person who referred me HAD to have referred me with a XXXX link because he previously sent me a XXXX referral link that had expired and he had to regenerate a brand new link to show XXXX for me.
I feel lied to about the partnership and trust I put in Amex and XXXX. And again, I 'm not the only one having a similar issue. In addition to the blog post above, see all of the research and datapoints of other people having the issues with the XXXX XXXX cards. See below in Appendix.
I understand that the extra XXXX points are a lot to ask for here, but I feel that American Express should have a vested interest in ensuring that their loyal customers have their rights honored and given the benefit of the doubt in the wake of all the confusion and issues. From all the research and other data points provided, I feel there has there is reason enough to believe that American Express has some glitch or technical issue in their database that is capturing the wrong signup bonuses for these XXXX cards.
If the full XXXX points are n't obtainable, can we please reach some sort of compromise for goodwill and good faith?
I also reached out to American Express as I was told I could write in and ask for a copy of my application to prove what signup and terms I signed up under. After getting a notarized affidavit and several weeks of waiting, the only thing I received in the mail was my basic information that I used when signing up ( ie : name, date of birth, phone number, SSN, etc. ) and my IP address. There was nothing that would prove to me one way or the other that the signup bonus that I signed up under was honored or not.
Honestly, I just want this to be over and am looking for any reasonable resolution. I definitely would not be spending all this time if I did n't think I had a good case. I love Amex and XXXX, but I always get a bad taste in my mouth when I see this card in my wallet now from the situation.

themickstar Typically Amex is faster because they post it right after the charges post but I think something has been going on with some business bonuses. Our XXXX bonus was attached fine and posted just a few days ago.

We put in an investigation and was denied. They said they will put in another investigation. I called and spoke to a supervisor. She said the regular and business SPG card are considered the same and that she is not entitled to the bonus. She said on some cards and especially with the Platinum they are considered different products, but for this offer it is not. Has anyone been told this before? I assume many here have used the referral links on XXXX and have not had a problem. I think I will wait a few days and call again. Any suggestions are appreciated.
encin Just followed up with amex on my missing spg biz points from when I met min spend on XXXX for the XXXX offer. This is the second case I opened with them, they decided to just close the first case with no apparent action.
The CSR just mentioned that the second case which I opened on XXXX was closed on XXXX, and apparently they confirmed a glitch on their end that did n't properly attach the sign-up promotion code to my account. They verified that I do qualify and that I should be receiving the points, but did n't get give a timeline. I think he mentioned something about this being remediated in a batch or something ... .last time I called I got them to give me XXXX courtesy points for all the calls I put in the last few months ... ..
I had called so many times, and I was really upset they had closed the previous case I created 8 weeks before with no resolution and she just said she had to create a new case and it would be another 6-8 weeks. I was like how do I know they are n't just going to close this in two weeks and keep telling me the same bs and I demanded something in return. I was hoping for more points but settled for XXXX - she was n't willing to negotiate there mwwalk My wife got the XXXX business back when it was available for XXXX points. We hit the spend immediately and then never received any of the signup bonus points. In XXXX I chatted and they could see the points had not posted despite completing spend so they opened a ticket. I chatted again ever couple weeks and they could never do anything and were really annoying ( and lazy ). Today, the bonus points finally posted. Thank goodness. For those that will want to know, they never called or emailed to ask questions. A significant portion of the $ XXXX MSR was done with MS , probably about 65 % of it. But none of it at Level 3 data supplying stores and I put in a bunch of other smaller charges as well - genuinely used it for everyday spend except meals/travel. Several charges were {$500.00} from XXXX because I got lazy so it would be pretty obvious what they were, but did n't seem to matter. Yay! If you 're still waiting, have hope.
netscooby I had signed up for the XXXX XXXX card with the XXXX bonus. After meeting the XXXX spend back in early XXXX with no MS and never having the card, I never received the bonus, not even the XXXX for the XXXX spend. A couple support calls and they finally sent my case to the mysterious back office a couple weeks ago. Follow up today and they stated that I 'm still good and do qualify, but this is a " Known issue '' for this card.
Anyone else experiencing this? I would think there would be others experiencing the same thing if this was truly a known issue they are having.

( Please provide any DPs to prove me wrong/right. ) Evidence : 1 ) My XXXX application was XXXX and bonus has n't posted after 8 weeks. I opened an AmEx investigation and CFPB case and response so far is : " We have identified an issue which, regrettably, may have impacted your account. '' 2 ) XXXX is waiting on a XXXX bonus from first week of XXXX.
3 ) XXXX had trouble getting a XXXX bonus to post. Not sure of his application date, but possibly around then.

Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I paid for a certificate to be mailed to me directly. I passed an online exam for XXXX XXXX XXXX. At the end of the exam it gave me a passing score and the option to buy a certificate for {$34.00}. I have never received the certificate after waiting over 3 weeks. I filed a dispute with american express Bluebird card accounts. I provided the following proof of purchase XXXX dispute form, photo of the receipt online, proof of the exam transcripts. I supplied these documents to amex blue card via their own secure email box on XX/XX/XXXX. Today on XX/XX/XXXX XXXX said " The document you are sent us is not valid to the contact merchant. Please sent us appropriate documents of this dispute. '' I called XXXX the 1st representative told me just to wait a few more days. Asked for her manager and he said they never received the forms. That 's a lie because the message above clearly states " The documents your sent us ''. These guys are not going to resolve this. I thought I could dispute transaction with in 30 days just like every other bank. In addition this is my 1st ever dispute after years of doing business with XXXX. Shady business all over these days.

Complaint: American Express has been delivering our monthly statement around the XX/XX/XXXX of each month and charges a {$38.00} late fee for payments not received by the XX/XX/XXXX of the next month. This has been an ongoing issue with XXXX for about three years.
We received our XX/XX/XXXX statement on XX/XX/XXXX.
I have contacted American Express three times on this issue. They have waived my late fees but have refused to address the problem. I have never missed a payment and always pay my full balance each month. My credit rating is excellent.
I do not believe American Express is following the Federal guidelines for time required for consumer payment and I believe American Express is intentionally profiting from their improper behavior. I believe American Express should refund all late fees to all consumers who have been improperly charged by American Express 's intentional misconduct.

I have attempted to contact American Express to get one, or register the card so that I can use it. All attempts to contact the company by phone or online have failed, there is no option on their contact numbers to speak to an agent, and one number puts you into a survey / sales pitch loop, then hangs up.

Problem with rewards from credit card
Complaint: Hello, Our earned AMEX Rewards points were taken from our Rewards Account and our Rewards Account was closed due to an accidental cancellation on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX of our card ( which was reinstated within a day or two ). I noticed there were no rewards points on our statement and called AMEX on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX ( and possibly before this date ) when I was told they would be reinstated and I was lucky to catch it before 30 days from accidental cancellation. I also asked for credit of the points accrued since XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and they were unsure as to those being eligible for credit of points. At this time I was told we had over XXXX points earned and XXXX or so accrued. On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX I called again and asked for the points to be reinstated. According to AMEX the call was incomplete because it ended before all the disclosures were made. AMEX never tried to call me back, nor did they send a notice. I thought the call was complete. On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX our earned points were swept out of the Rewards Account and the Account was closed.- I was not aware of this until XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX I called again and was told points were gone and they would check into it.
Today, XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, I spoke with the " Supervisor of Membership Awards '', XXXX, employee # XXXX. XXXX confirmed the above dates and was unwilling to consider my request for reinstatement of earned rewards because the XXXX/XXXX/XXXX call was " incomplete '' on their end even though her notes did indicate the request for earned point reinstatement. She said after the points are swept there is nothing they can do and my complaint/request was closed. She said there was no one else for me to talk to since Corporate closed it.
Attached are email confirmations after each inquiry ( the XXXX call was dated the next day but AMEX confirmed it was XXXX ). We are a small business and we count on the rewards points to cover expenses. To our company this is a significant problem. It was n't until my call on XXXX when AMEX informed me that I needed to open a new Rewards Account in order to accrue points for transactions from that point forward. No one informed me prior to that I needed to open a new account so we missed credit for everything since the original earned points were taken.
I do n't believe customer service in the Membership Rewards group is interested in giving back points and wonder if there is incentive to do this.

Complaint: I spent {$25000.00} using my American Express Gold Delta card in XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX. American Express should have credited XXXX points to my Delta Skymiles account and reported to Delta the amount spent with the card. American Express reported only {$4000.00} as the amount spent to XXXX XXXX. It did n't credit the miles to my Delta Skymiles account nor did it report the dollar spent in XXXX and XXXX which amounts to more than {$21000.00}. I called to XXXX XXXX to inquire. Delta asked me to contact American Express. I have contacted American express four times and one of them I conferenced in XXXX XXXX. I have spent more than five hours following on this matter. Charged too much interest
Complaint: I have my XXXX XXXX XXXX American Express ( AE ) card for over a year, and I always paid the balance in full and on time. However, I missed the payment of {$1800.00} on XX/XX/XXXX deadline, so I immediately made a full payment of {$1800.00} on XX/XX/XXXX.
The 2-day late payment cost me {$88.00} of interest charge which I could not believe it. I contacted AE customer service ans asked why it 's so much for 2-day interest and was told that it was based on 18.75 % APR ; however, it should have never been that much, even the customer service advised me it seemed very high! Subsequently, I was charged another interest of {$73.00} on XX/XX/XXXX for the same late payment on XX/XX/XXXX. Again, I contacted AE and was told there 's nothing they could do to reverse the charges because everything was done by computer. I was so outraged and wanted to cancel the card ; then, I was advised that I would loss all the benefits and points that i have earned last 12 months if I cancel my AE card. So I have no choice but to keep the card untill I use up all my benefits

Complaint: I have been trying to get this resolved for some time now. I did file a previous compliant and what AMEX sent back contradicts information I have and have attached.
They indicated the account was sent to an outside collection agency which supposedly was paid and then they received the money. Their correspondence stated the account was charged off XX/XX/XXXX and was sent to an outside collection agency for {$2800.00} which brought the account to XXXX. It indicates the account was paid in full on XX/XX/XXXX after they received the payment from the collection agency for {$2800.00} which brought the account to XXXX.
1st I paid it directly to Amex please see the attached email from AMERICAN EXPRESS. It was paid to them XX/XX/XXXX 2nd If the had charged off the account in XX/XX/XXXX and sent it to a collection agency then it would have been the collection agency 's account and they would have been reporting the account 3rd I asked for a payment history not a typed letter from the company that they can put whatever dates they feel are accurate without proof.
4th They put a link to get a copy of a generic agreement that does n't have my signature on it. There were 2 types of contacts and without providing the copy that I signed this would indicate they do n't have record of it.
