Complaint: I have had a loan through Westlake financial for a little over 2 years. Never had a problem till recently. I hit a little bit of financial trouble, due to my ex-husband not paying child support. I called them 2 weeks to explain why I was 3 months behind, at first they were understanding and told me to get a payment in asap, I informed the lady I would be doing it the first, she said that would be okay. Today I called to pay on my account and I was informed that had closed my account and charged it off and even though I offered them a payment, they refused said that I had to pay {$1000.00} towards the {$4000.00} that was still owed before the account was closed and they would work a payment plan for the rest. The last bill I recieved showed that I owed {$3800.00} left on my car. They would not explain anything and had not told me that they were going to this. They said they had called the past 2 weeks and left messages, I have no messages or calls from, they also said they sent mail, I did not recieve this either. I then asked them when will you be repossessing my car. I was informed even thought my account had been closed, my car was not up for repossession, I repeat they have closed my account, yet have not set me up repossession, it sounds very suspicious to me. I was very angry and upset, because they were very rude and ugly to me, and I did curse at them at the end of the call. I also discovered that last XXXX they had a lawsuit filed against them for their business practices, they are still doing unlawful and less savory business practices.

Complaint: I took out an auto title loan with Wilshire Consumer Credit on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. I had a XXXX GMAC Envoy worth about {$6000.00}. I took the loan out for approximately {$3500.00}.
The vehicle motor gave out at {$200000.00} miles. I requested that the lender pick up the car to settle the debt. They picked up the car and sold it in auction. I never received received any documentation of the settlement. I was told vehicle was sold. This company is reporting this debt in all XXXX XXXX repositories, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX as charge off XXXX balance due. They have a DBA called Westlake Services that is reporting on all three repositories, XXXX, XXXX and XXXX open date XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. This is 12 days after Wilshire Consumer Credit report date of XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. They are the same company. I need this creditor to to remove the creditor Westlake Services with a balance of {$4700.00} to match the XXXX balance as reported by their sister company Wilshire Consumer Credit that shows a XXXX balance. I need the balance of Westlake Services Services as XXXX owed or they need to delete Westlake Services from all the repositories.. This negative balance odf {$4700.00} is affecting my credit utilization on all three repositories. If you look up the reviews with Consumer Affairs and the RIPoff report. This company has a bad reputation. I need my credit report XXXX with this balance of {$4700.00}. They are trying to ruin my credit by trying to report the same information differently. Please have this auto title company remove this balance. I do n't owe it. It should match the same history report as a Wilshire Consumer Credit.

Complaint: Entered into a car title loan with Wilshire consumer credit. At one point I knew I would fall behind on payments before the payment was late I contacted Wilshire Consumer to ask for a payment arrangement or deferment. The said XXXX no this is a car tile loan and we can repo your car after XXXX day late. I called back a couple of days later explained I could not make the payment and they said that I should have called before I was late to make arrangements. I told them I did. The employee was so rude, threatened to repossess the car, called me ignorant and was actually yelling and talking over me. Days later they repossessed my car. They made me pay about {$1000.00} to get it back and I got it back. Before I made the payments to get the car back I asked them if they would be able to defer my next payment so I could catch up. They agreed and send me an extension agreement stating that my next payment was due XXXX XXXX. The contract was signed by myself and by Wilshire. When I called them to confirm the deferment they said that they messed up on the paperwork and that my actual payment is due XXXX XXXX intead of XXXX. I told them that that 's not what the agreement says. Now they are calling harassing me, threatening to repo my car again and they will never let me speak to a supervisor. They call me a loser, Scream and yell, hang up and lie about the supervisors. The few times I have spoken to a supervisor they contradict what the employees say. I have paid them over {$3000.00} and I only borrowed {$2500.00}. They are constantly calling threatening me and say that my extension was not approved. I have documentation showing the agreement.

Complaint: I had a loan through West Lake Financial Services. Around XX/XX/2013 the car was repossessed. During that process while attempting to find me to take the car Westlake Financial called and harassed my family members, specifically my grandmother on a daily basis and threatened that you guys were going to sue me. They also called many other family members and told them about my debt ( which is a violation of the FDCPA ). They also called me at my work constantly. I told them that i was not allowed to receive phone calls and i could get in trouble, which i did get written up for. They also talked to my supervisor and told him that i owed a debt and that they were going to serve me at work. ( another violation of the FDCPA ). They never sued me for the alleged deficiency balance which i still do disagree with. Threatening to take an action that you do not intend to take or that is meant solely for the purpose of harassing is a clear violation of Federal law as well.

Complaint: We need your help in getting clear title to a vehicle we purchased 6 years ago. Here is the story. We purchased our XXXX XXXX Jetta GLX Wagon XX/XX/XXXX in XXXX, XXXX. Our financing options were limited, leaving us to enter into a high interest car loan ( 29.90 % ) with Westlake Financial of XXXX, XXXX. We were able to pay off the car within months of the date of purchase, but we never received the title and are in need of disposing of the car as it is not worth repairing.
Because of the amount of time that has passed and the fact that we have physically relocated 3 times since the purchase of that vehicle, I can not locate the file that contained the original loan and purchase documents. That is why I thought I would simply go to DMV and file for a " lost title '', but they pointed out that Westlake Financial was still listed as lien -holder and that they would have to file for a lost title if that were the case. Here is the breakdown of the financial activity around this purchase : PURCHASE DATE XX/XX/XXXX ; AMOUNT {$8800.00} ; 1st DOWN PAYMENT {$2000.00} ; FINANCED - Short Term 36 mos. @ 29.90 % {$7700.00} = $ XXXX/month ; XXXX. PAYMENTS MADE : 4 @ {$330.00} = {$1300.00} FINAL LUMP SUM PAYOFF XX/XX/XXXX ; AMOUNT {$4400.00} Our purchase was financed through Westlake Financial in California at an interest rate of 29.90 %. We initially put {$2000.00} down and financed it at that outrageously high interest rate for a 36-month term with the understanding that we would return in the very near future with a 2nd final payment to avoid excessive interest payments any longer than necessary.
After attempting to make contact, they were excessively rude and immediately accused us of never satisfying the loan. When I asked if that were, indeed the case, why then had no one from their company reached out to us in all these years so that I would have had the necessary documents to prove that we did in fact satisfy our debt to them. Their tone became increasingly hostile when asked about my spouse who I informed them that my legal spouse is a woman ( as am I ), sending the person on the phone into a whipped up frenzy spouting accusatory rhetoric. Some of it was difficult to understand due to a very heavy XXXX speaking accent so I chose to terminate the phone call and research what my options are at this point as I must dispose of this vehicle.
So this is where we find ourselves with a financing company who claims they never received the pay-off and the fact that they are a frightening predatory lender who was forced to pay fines and forgive auto loans due to illegal collection methods, ( according to an article in the XXXX XXXX that lead me to reach out to you ) I am frankly afraid to reach out to them again.
It has taken us several years to repair our credit after losing our employment in XX/XX/XXXX which led to the damaged credit that gave us no option but to enter into a car loan with Westlake Financial at 29.90 % interest back XX/XX/XXXX. Now we are seriously concerned about them taking a fraudulent adverse action against us that could cause us financial damage in the process of making us pay for this loan twice.

Complaint: I obtained a Vehicle loan from West Lake Financial Services for about {$4800.00}. I had the vehicle in my passion for about 28 days. I was involved in a XXXX in which my insurance company deemed was a total loss. Insurance company only paid about {$4400.00} as they determined that was actual value. I had GAP insurance with West Lake Financial and was told it would cover the rest of the loan which it did. On or about XXXX XXXX, 2016 I made a call to Westlake Financial to inquire what my Balance was. I was told over the phone that I had a XXXX balance. For whatever reason West Lake reported a {$71.00} Charge OFF on my credit report. West Lake never notified me I owed them this money therefore denying me any opportunity to make the needed payment. This Charge Off caused a drastic drop of my Credit Score. It went so low that my main Credit line thru XXXX was closed. I lost my {$10000.00} credit line!

Complaint: I have been defrauded by Westlake Services , LLC. I have been with them for five years.
When I went to get a 2nd car after paying off 1st car, I found out they never reported anything to credit agency 's. I have been fighting with them since then to report 1st car and now my 2nd car. They refuse citing absurd SSI problems " they cant talk about '' They are a predatory lender with uber complaints for same thing. I spent last 8 months trying to please them sending everything they requested over and over. I contacted credit agents and they said its clearly Westlake that is the problem! They have cost me thousands of dollars and lie about fixing credit to many people so you never get away from them it looks like to me.

Complaint: Westlake Financial Inc. account # XXXX is an old car from I believe 2012 that was repo 'd. Westlake on my credit report is showing that is is charged off and this car has not been in my possession for at least 4 years now. However, after applying for a mortgage, we noticed that Westlake has been reporting late payments several times through out the last 4 years and then the last 7 months in a row they have reporting a late payment even though this truck has not been in my possession for many years. My understanding is that when something charges off, that means the company decided to charge it off the books and therefore, they can not, in turn report late payments anymore sporadically or consecutively past the charge off date. I guess what I am saying is you ca n't be late on something that charged off. They have been doing this for years and years and has caused my scores to drop big time. I have been trying to get my credit back in shape so my family could purchase a home. After working really hard to do that I find out this company has been illegally, in my opinion, and willfully, charging me late to harm my credit. I am requesting all the late payment past 2012 be removed from my credit report and specifically all the late payments over the last 2 years should be removed ASAP since I have not had the car in my possession and the account was charged off.

Complaint: Westlake Financial Services repossessed my vehicle after being late despite the fact that I set up a payment plan with them. After I paid their requested amount to redeem my vehicle they slapped me with repossession fees twice that doubled the remaining loan amount I had left to pay. They refused to give me a breakdown of what those fees entailed and if I had been charged twice for XXXX repo. They were so mean to me saying " you got yourself into this so just pay what we bill you ''. Despite the fact that they treated me like a criminal or savage for falling on hard times, I still manage to pay off the entire loan including those fees. For the longest, they kept reporting the loan as open and delinquent. It took months of calling to get them to finally report the loan as paid off. Now two years later my nightmare with this company has returned as they 've reported " no data '' for more than a year then reported it as a collection as of XX/XX/XXXX with no further data. This company is the WORST to deal with as they are disrespectful, inconsistent, and dishonest. I fought for an entire year just to get them to issue me a statement that the account was fully paid in 2014. When I called a few weeks ago to dispute the innaccurate information they reported to XXXX the man said " we 're actually doing you a favor since its better than what we were previously reporting. I have written proof from this company that the loan was paid in full XX/XX/XXXX. Because of their inaccurate reporting I am unable to attain credit. I have been disputing this with the company as well as the credit bureaus time and time again and no one is helping me. Since they can not report truthfully they should remove the trade line entirely.
