Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem

Credit reporting, credit repair services, or other personal consumer reports: Credit reporting

Complaint: TFS agreed to remove inaccurate 60d late credit mark from my credit report. I'm a first time home buyer and notified TFS that I need them to remove inaccurate 60d late credit mark from my credit report as soon as possible in order to get better mortgage rate. I have pulled my XXXX credit report today, on XX/XX/2018 and inaccurate 60d late credit mark is still on my report. I have already purchased my first house onXX/XX/06/2018 and this inaccurate 60d late credit mark negatively affected my mortgage rate.

Vehicle loan or lease: Loan

Billing problem
Complaint: I purchased a new XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/2017. The credit union I was going to use for financing can not lend on new cars out of dealerships in AZ, I live in CA. So, I essentially had to use Toyota Financial as my lender. I love the car and intend to keep it for years to come. I am also happy with the terms of the loan for the most part and planned to pay it until it was paid off. For reference, I have a perfect credit history including paying a XXXX mortgage on time each month plus XXXXmonth extra towards principal. I actually own a mortgage bank called XXXX XXXX and understand the importance of credit very well. I love helping educate people on improving their credit. In XX/XX/XXXX, out of the blue, Toyota Financial reported a 30 day late on my account to all 3 credit bureaus. Up to that time, I had been trying to setup an automatic payment draft for this account. I talked to Toyota about this many, many times. I kept raising my hand asking how to do this and was never properly shown. At many points, I actually was under the impression that I'd set it up correctly while on phone with Toyota. During the time in which I was under the impression that I was on the auto pay, my due payment was not drafted and I was then charged with a 30 day late. As soon as I was alerted of this ( by XXXX XXXX ), I immediately made the payment and called Toyota. Toyota essentially admits no fault or responsibility on their end. I pleaded with them for almost an hour trying understand their perspective in the manner, while trying to explain mine. My credit history confirms that I consistently pay my bills. Why would I choose not to pay this one? All of my accounts are on auto draft, why wouldn't I want this one on auto draft? I wish for Toyota to admit that they didn't adequately help me get into auto draft, when I called asked them to do this many, many times. Their customer service was so poor, that I actually thought I was in auto draft when I wasn't. That is why I have a 30 day late. I have since successfully enrolled in auto draft finally and continue to pay the account on time, just like all of my other accounts. I am so frustrated and feel like they won't listen to me. Please help get this 30 day late off my credit. My wife and I were going to refinance our home this fall, but if this 30 day late is still on my credit, we won't be able to. This is literally freaking me out and affecting my family - because Toyota didn't properly help me when I was asking for it. Please help. Thank you, XXXX

Incorrect information on your report

Credit reporting, credit repair services, or other personal consumer reports: Credit reporting

Account status incorrect
Complaint: We started our lease with Toyota Financial Services in XX/XX/XXXX on a XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX. Initially, their promotion was that Toyota will make our first payment, so when the payment invoice for XX/XX/XXXX showed up, we contacted Toyota to make sure they would make the first payment. Toyota claimed that they already made the first payment when we took delivery of the vehicle in late XX/XX/XXXX, but no record exists of them making any payment. Our recent credit report shows our payments over 30 days old, which is not true. We printed off the entire payment history and none of our payments have been over 30 days late. We discussed that with Toyota Financial Services XXXX they have documented comments XXXX and they reversed a {$34.00} Late Fee and agreed to update our payment history to show NO delinquent ( over 30 days XXXX payments. That has not happened yet. Our normal payment date is the XX/XX/XXXX and payments started XX/XX/XXXX ( assuming Toyota made the first payment in XX/XX/XXXX ). We want our payment history to be clear with no late payments over 30 days with Toyota as they promised during our phone conversation XX/XX/XXXX. Can you help us correct this with Toyota? Thank you.

Account information incorrect
Complaint: TFS reported incorrect information to Credit Bureaus. I have contacted TFS in XX/XX/2018 regarding incorrect late markers on my account. It took TFS more than two month and multiple communications to fix the problem. During that period TFS reported additional incorrect information to Credit Bureaus of two additional credit markers, one for XX/XX/2018 and another for XX/XX/2018. The car was sold in XX/XX/2018. These additional incorrect negative credit markers negatively affected my credit history and resulted in credit line decrease for my XXXX credit card. I was on the market for a mortgage and it is also affected my ability to receive good rates. It was a stressful experience. I have attached XXXX report which show additional incorrect credit markers on my report.

Problems at the end of the loan or lease

Vehicle loan or lease: Loan

Unable to receive car title or other problem after the loan is paid off
Complaint: Toyota Financial has refused to hold their end of the contract and issue a title release or even credit the account closed. I called the middle of XXXX notifying them I needed an address to send a certified check, the gentleman who helped was very nice and provided an address to deliver the money to. Toyota received the monies for the account on XX/XX/2018. Again this was a certified check from XXXX XXXX and included a master billing statement stating where the money was to be applied and the vehicle paid in full. I was expecting the account to be credited the following Wednesday since Monday was a holiday. That never happened. I called Toyota on that Friday and they stated they had a " short week ''. As I am typing this I am on hold with them expecting to talk to a manager as promised about getting the title sent out ( notifying the DMV ). Toyota has many problems with this same situation. I believe an attorney with adequate knowledge would find that a class action lawsuit against Toyota would end these criminal practices.

Problems at the end of the loan or lease

Vehicle loan or lease: Lease

Excess mileage, damage, or wear fees, or other problem after the lease is finish
Complaint: When I got a new lease of a new car from XXXX XXXX of XXXX in Spring of 2015, I was offered floor mats for a fee of {$100.00}. I declined. At the conclusion of my lease of a XXXX XXXX XXXX, I was presented with end of lease fees. Included in those fees were ( 4 ) {$35.00} charges, totaling {$140.00}, for missing floor mats. I have tried repeatedly to address this with TFS ( Toyota Financial Services ), the dealership, and the Toyota Customer Experience Team. My case # with the Customer Experience team is XXXX. The agent I have worked the most closely with on this team, named XXXX, told me over the phone in XXXX that the dealership admitted to her that they did not include floor mats in my lease. The dealership has promised me ( in early XXXX ), and XXXX, in late XXXX, that they would pay the {$140.00} fee directly to TFS, since TFS is demanding payment, despite my not having received these floor mats at any point during the lease. Despite their admission, and promises, the dealership has not remitted payment to TFS in the amount or {$140.00}, nor any amount. TFS claims the dealership contacted them on XX/XX/XXXX to do " research. '' The customer experience agent XXXX claims the dealership has promised to call her back to resolve TWICE, with no call actually made. I am getting nothing but the run around and lies from the dealership, and the Customer Experience team is no longer being helpful ( three times they have promised to follow up with me only to never call ). Of course I should not owe money for a product I never received, and Toyota needs to figure this out internally.

Problem extending the lease
Complaint: I would like to publicly say that I am terribly offended by Toyota Financial throwing every misleading fact in my face. I received their recent response regarding my more recent compliant and it seems that they are A ) denying that I had any sort of problems with their electronic payment system JUST because they had no " widespread issues ''. That is awful because I ACTUALLY did have issues sending out my payment and the same error was happening on my app. I don't appreciate being quoted generic regulations and rules when I do not believe the company is being transparent with me or the CFPB. I never selected to remove my banking information and get off of autopay ... why is THAT not being investigated? i can not understand why that happened. They want to make me feel like the only responsible party but why can't they understand that electronic error can occur too. I have been a great customer and this is ridiculous. B ) The only calls I was getting was from their agents attempting to get me to buy a new car and telling me that with my exceptional credit history I can get a new car and not pay end-of-leasae fees and so I asked you give me time and they set me up on an extension, month to month lease ... whatever they are claiming for XXXX and XXXX was during that interim phase where I had NO CLUE what I was supposed to do because they had damaged my CREDIT. My lease contract was up so why was I not instructed and given a contract for the extension so I know what is due and when? without a contract and anything in stone Toyota can not keep throwing lies in my face. Their agents who call are so greedy and so busy trying to convince consumers to get a new car, fall under more debt and are lied to and told the sooner we decide the better for us that they actually dont care that they are single handedly DAMAGING our credit in the mean time! Is it not ironic that the months you called me to convince me to get a new car you ruined my financial life? Honestly, XXXX/XXXX were not my fault, do not throw it on me. you say I got this call and that call but why dont you be honest and say WHY you were calling me? Not to tell me my autopay was disabled and that my payment didn't post, your company was calling me to solicit a new car. I do not understand why and how the autopay was removed and I do not understand why you won't release my calls to government agents here at CFPB?

Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem

Vehicle loan or lease: Lease

Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Complaint: In XX/XX/2018 I attempted to log into the Toyota Financial Services website and make my monthly payment prior to a trip I was leaving on. The website would not allow me to make the payment without accepting their news terms of service, but I did not realize the payment had not been made until I received my XX/XX/XXXX statement. I immediately made two payments on XX/XX/2018. They reported me 31-60 days past due and it dropped my credit score from XXXX to XXXX. I attempted many times to speak with someone and I always end up on hold for up to an hour before I finally hang up. They are refusing to fix anything on my credit report and this will hit my pocketbook harder than I prefer by having a poor credit score. They are only interested in explaining the extraordinary efforts I should have taken to get them the payment regardless of the change in terms of service.

Complaint: I was shocked when I reviewed my credit report and found late payment on the dates below, and even though I had talked to representatives last month when the errors occurred. The rep of Toyota told me last month that they will remove the late mark on my credit due to internal errors and only to find out that this month they applied the payment wrong again. LATE MARK ON : XX/XX/XXXX & XX/XX/2018. I am not sure how this happened, I believe that I had made my payments correctly to you when I received my statements.

Problems at the end of the loan or lease

Vehicle loan or lease: Loan

Problem with paying off the loan
Complaint: My original complaint was complaint number XXXX-XXXX. I had written in response to a XXXX form that I received without being able to get information regarding the reason I was receiving it. I have reviewed the response from Toyota but it raised some additional questions. The response from Toyota along with the history provided indicates that I purchased a Toyota XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, then on XX/XX/XXXX the car was repossessed and then charged {$2000.00} in repossession fees and if I am reading correctly sold for {$530.00}. Then according to the response I was provided with some legally required notices however I do not see these attached. Again according to the response my account was charged off on XX/XX/XXXX, and in continued to make payments according to the history provided. Then starting in XX/XX/XXXX the payments up until XX/XX/XXXX are applied to interest which seems odd if the account was charged off. Neither I or the co-signer have seen these letters from XX/XX/XXXX that were attached. We continued to make payments on the account and then the letter states that Toyota ceases to attempt to collect the debt in XX/XX/XXXX. I have not heard from, received a letter from, spoken to Toyota in years. I purchased and financed a new Toyota XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX. I purchased a home, got a mortgage, and purchased and financed multiple cars over this period. Now in XX/XX/XXXX I receive this XXXX, however I no longer have any documentation to try to affirm the amounts due or paid as it has been 14 years since Toyota says they charged the account off. While in the letter it states attempt to collect this debt ceased in XX/XX/XXXX, but is there any evidence of collection activity occurring, or when was it that the last collection activity occurred? How would I be able to verify that if this XXXX is correct, that it was issued in the correct year, account was charged off per Toyota in XX/XX/XXXX, and in the history it appears the car repossession charges that start from XX/XX/XXXX, but then the car is sold in XX/XX/XXXX and the 2 year old car was sold for {$530.00}. The whole timeframe somewhat baffling. It just seems based on this timeline it would be really remarkable for me to have the records to verify or respond to this. There is no reference of this account appearing on either my or the cosigners credit report. It never came up as an issue when I bought a home in XX/XX/XXXX, or when I purchased a Toyota XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX. I just don't understand how I could have addressed it if there was no contact or info for me to respond to, if nothing the XXXX should have been issued in a different time period.

Credit reporting, credit repair services, or other personal consumer reports: Credit reporting

Account status incorrect
Complaint: I applied for a loan payment deferral with Toyota Financial. The agreement covered 2 months XXXX of 2018 and XXXX of 2018. The agreement was approved. I was initially told verbally that the agreement must be signed and returned immediately after receiving. I began to look for the agreement within 24 hours. When I spoke to customer service I was informed it would take at least 72 hours not including the weekend. I received the agreement and it was signed and faxed on XX/XX/2018. With the agreement covering XXXX and XXXX my next payment would be due on XX/XX/2018. To my dismay it was reported to the credit reporting agencies that I past due for both. XX/XX/2018 and XX/XX/2018. When I put forth a dispute nothing changed then I submitted the original agreement. That was submitted to Toyota and now my credit report shows I was late for XXXX only. I have made good faith attempts to correct this with all 3 reporting agencies and Toyota to no avail. The information sent to me by Toyota outlining the agreement and signed and returned by me clearly covers. XX/XX/2018 and XX/XX/2018. So now I need your agency to assist me to make this right.

Incorrect information on your report

Credit reporting, credit repair services, or other personal consumer reports: Credit reporting

Account information incorrect
Complaint: When my vehicle was repossessed in XX/XX/2017 the remaining balance was {$8000.00}. This balance was reported to my credit bureau reports by Toyota. It is the law that the towing company is not to disturb the peace when coming to pick up the vehicle. The whole time the towing company was here which was at XXXX XXXX. and for at least 15 minutes as they were struggling to secure the vehicle, they had their high beams shining in my neighbors window. In addition, they banged down my door as hard as they possibly could for a good amount of time. The two guys from the towing company furthermore were extremely rude not that I expected anything more. They are supposed to give you the opportunity to get your belongings out of the vehicle before taking it which they did not do, instead they peeled wheels and sped off again disturbing the peace. The towing company was at least an hour from where we live which we feel was Toyota being vindictive towards us. My wife and I had to schedule an appointment to come and puck up our belongings from the vehicle. When we got there we found all of our stuff in a trash bag very carelessly thrown together and therefore as a result a lot of our stuff was broken/damaged. There is a law in place which states that we are to be notified of the time, as well as place that the vehicle will be auctioned in the event my wife and I wish to participate in it. Toyota neglected to notify us of this information. I instead received a phone call from a collection agency collecting on behalf of Toyota for the amount that was owed at the time of repossession. I asked the representative if the vehicle had been auctioned off and I was informed that in fact it was. I advised the representative from the collection agency that it is the law that Toyota is to notify me of the time and place of the auction and she agreed with me. I asked to speak with the supervisor of the collection agency and in formed her of my situation. The supervisor thought something very suspicious was going on and she was going to investigate the matter as to which I expressed my gratitude for. I told her I also wanted to know how much the car sold for at auction. I eventually heard back from the supervisor who advised me that the car sold for {$17000.00} which covers my remaining balance and then some. I was advised by the representative that I still owe the {$8000.00} which she did not feel was justified but that it was just what Toyota was informing her. I have tried to no avail to dispute this with all three credit bureaus numerous times. I have also spoken with the executive office of Toyota, they will however say anything and everything to make their actions/claims appear valid.

Incorrect information on your report

Credit reporting, credit repair services, or other personal consumer reports: Credit reporting

Account status incorrect
Complaint: My husband and myself have a joint auto loan with Toyota Financial Services. In the process of trying to get a home loan, we found out that Toyota reported us 30 days late in XX/XX/XXXX andXX/XX/XXXX. I tried to resolve over the phone with Toyota, however there is no possible way to speak to a person in the credit reporting department. You have to communicate by letter only. Several months later I finally received a letter back confirming that they had researched and corrected the negative credit markers, yet their correction letter to us mentioned the wrong month ( XX/XX/XXXX). Still to this day they can not send me a letter to confirm that they corrected the month of XX/XX/XXXX, like I have asked. I thought this was resolved, because there is no longer a negative marker on my credit or my husband 's for the months they reported incorrectly, so I let it go thinking it was just a bad mistake on their part. Then 2 weeks ago I found out that Toyota AGAIN has reported us 30 days late, this time it is for the months of XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX. Our payments are due on the XX/XX/XXXX of each month, and again, all these payments are paid well before the 30 day marker, usually within 1-2 weeks after the due date. We NEVER past 30 days, yet Toyota continues to report us 30 days late and their excuse is that " the payment has not posted by the last day of the month. '' They " ding '' our credit on the last day of the month even though thirty days have not passed. They have done this to us 5 times in the last 24 months now. This is ruining our credit, and it takes months to resolve! This should be illegal to report someone at 10 or 15 days.
