Complaint: I have a loan with XXXX XXXX. I have always made my payments on time. For some reason I realized that there was a late payment on my credit report. As you can see, I have always had a stellar payment record with this company. I tried contacting both XXXX, XXXX, XXXX and TOYOTA MTR with no successful resolution. XXXX, XXXX and XXXX were reporting me late. There was definitely an error on their part. I was never 30 days late XXXX and XX/XX/2018.

Problem with fees charged
Complaint: I went in to the dealership to buy a used car. They suggested a lease instead. I said no to the lease because I did not want to pay a large excise tax on a new car that I did not own. They told me that because I was " leasing '' and not " owning '' that I would only have to pay one-half ( 45 % ) of the excise tax ( 90 % at full valuation ). When I told the salesperson my concerns she reassured me, along with a floor manager, that I would not have to pay the entire tax.
As a result of this information, I signed the lease. I got a bill last week for the FULL amount of the excise tax. When I called the dealership to question this, I was told that they never told me I would not have to pay the full fax.
If I had been told the truth, I would not have signed the lease. You will have to pay the entire 90 % of the new car valuation on a car you do not own.

Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Complaint: I financed a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for my job back in XXXX. Within 6 or 8 months, I was struggling to keep up with my notes and insurance. The vehicle was in mine and my grandmother 's name, she co-signed for me to get the vehicle. When I could no longer keep up with my notes, me and my grandmother both went up to the dealership to return the vehicle. They informed me that by doing that, I will not owe anything on the vehicle. We all signed papers, I left my vehicle at the dealership, and it was forgotten. 6 months later, I had a different vehicle. When I tried to put insurance on it, I was told I had a flag on my license for not having insurance on the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, the vehicle I turned in 6 months ago. I immediately went to the dealership to resolve my issue, and they informed me that they shred all of their documents and they had no proof that I even turned in the vehicle, and I no longer had the paper either. Turns out, they kept my car in their parking lot for months before turning it over to the finance company, and I had no idea. I was eventually able to get the manager of Toyota to hand write me a letter saying that I willingly surrendered the car on a specific date in order to have the flag removed from my license. Recently, in XX/XX/XXXX I disputed this account on my XX/XX/XXXX credit report. They were unable to provide documentation to XX/XX/XXXX, and the account was removed by that bureau. It remains on my XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX reports, and it is preventing me from being able to do anything with my credit. I can't be approved for a mortgage or a new car loan. I need this account removed from my other reports as quickly as possible. The account number is XXXX from Toyota Motor Credit Corp.

Billing problem
Complaint: There are several issues with my auto loan, and how it is being poorly mishandled I will try to cover it all here. My girlfriend and I purchased a vehicle on XX/XX/XXXX through a dealership and used a loan from Toyota Financial. Then, on XX/XX/XXXX, our vehicle was stolen. We had our Auto insurance policy revoked a few weeks prior to the theft, due to a clerical error by the DMV in the reporting of my DL history. But we had purchased GAP insurance when we bought the car, and we filed a GAP claim. It was approved. Our car was recovered the day after it was stolen, but there was considerable damage to the vehicle. The overall estimate for repairs was {$15000.00}. GAP determined that the repairs were more than the car was worth ( value at time of loss was {$15000.00} ) and they determined it was a " Total Loss ''. On the phone, they told us that they would cover the value of the car with the loan, as outlined in our GAP Agreement and recover the vehicle, but that we would be responsible for the remaining balance owed. We thought that was fair. It took two more months for GAP to make their payment, and when they did on XX/XX/XXXX, it was for {$7500.00}. We filed a release of liability with the DMV as instructed by the GAP department to do once they made payment, but because this was much less than the value of the vehicle, we attempted several times to get Toyota Financial to pay the remaining {$8100.00}. At the same time, we continued to make our payments of {$420.00} each month, and actually, we were paying {$450.00} every four weeks to pay the loan off sooner. But, in XX/XX/XXXX, Toyota Financial started reporting that our account was past due over 30 days to the three credit agencies. We attempted to correct the issue with Toyota, but they said our " account reporting was correct ''. So we contacted the three agencies with supporting documents, and they corrected the issue. Then, in XX/XX/XXXX ( XX/XX/XXXX we believe ) while we were attempting, over the phone, to get our remaining GAP payment, we were informed that they were going to file a repossession on our credit because we " abandoned '' the vehicle at the XXXX XXXX. We argued how this was not legal as we had not received any notice in the mail, that was not what we were told by the GAP department, and outlined in our GAP agreement, they did not seem to care. They said that if we recovered the vehicle and paid all storage fees owed to the XXXX XXXX, they would not state it was a repossession. We contacted the XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) to get more information. They informed us that the storage fees were {$900.00} at that point, but even if we paid the fees, per the DMV, we did not have any legal right to the vehicle, so they would not release it to us. They also told us that they had been trying to get Toyota Financial to recover the vehicle for almost two months and did not get an response back from them until they sent Toyota Financial a notice informing them that they intended to sell the vehicle at auction on XX/XX/XXXX if they did not pay the storage fees and pick up the vehicle. We informed Toyota Financial what the XXXX XXXX informed us, and also faxed them supporting documentation that informed them they could not claim this as a repossession. We got no response. In XX/XX/XXXX, as now both of our Credit reports showed that we had a repossession on our record, we attempted to resolve things with Toyota Financial to no success. We then filed a complaint with the Department of Business Oversight. Toyota Financial sent us a response letter stating how they justified that it was a repossession and that they would remove the repossession and " re instate our loan '' ( they had closed our account sometime after XX/XX/XXXX even though we are still continuing to make payments ) if we paid them an additional {$1700.00} to cover the cost of Repossession. Although the DBO could not help with the particular situation as it was outside of their jurisdiction, they gave us advice on what we could do to resolve the issue. We followed their advice, and Toyota Financial credited our account $ XXXX.which we assumed was for our remaining GAP claim and some miscellaneous interest we were charged. They also removed the Repossession from my credit report, but not by girlfriend 's. But instead, on my credit report, they stated I was over 30 days late again. So I disputed this with the Credit agencies, and they corrected the issue. In XX/XX/XXXX, we get a call from a Debt Collection Agency, XXXX, stating that they are now in possession of our loan with Toyota Financial and owe them the remaining balance on the loan. {$7500.00}. We told them we had heard no such thing from Toyota Financial, and we did not owe anywhere near that much. They tried to convince us that we did owe that much, and that they wanted payment in full, over the phone. We declined, and called Toyota Financial the same day. Toyota informed us that they were still in possession of our loan, but also tried to tell us we owed the same amount. We asked for a copy of our current payment statement. They emailed it to us and showed us a current amount owed {$5700.00}. A few weeks later, we get a letter in the mail from Toyota Financial, dated XX/XX/XXXX that states we owe a total of {$7500.00} because they are still trying to collect on fees they paid in getting the vehicle from the XXXX XXXX, and the fees are labeled " Cost of Repossession '' Also, it showed that the {$8300.00} that was paid to us was because the vehicle was sold at auction for that amount. Not for the remaining GAP payment. But, the vehicle was given a Salvage Title on XX/XX/XXXX per the California DMV due to the " total loss ' status. So we thought that was odd. In the beginning of XX/XX/XXXX, we get notified of an update on our Credit reports. We look, and Toyota Financial account has been removed from my girlfriend 's credit report completely, but on my report, it states " Charge off/Bad Debt. '' We then contacted Toyota again, and got another up to date payment history, and it shows that we have been making our payments on time still, but there are a lot of charges and credits for the months of XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX, on the XX/XX/XXXX statement that were not on the XX/XX/XXXX Statement. And the amounts are consistent with the fees that they kept trying to collect under the pretense of a Repossession. We have again sent paperwork to the three credit agencies to correct the erroneous reporting, and are confident that this will be corrected, again. But we feel that Toyota Financial is maliciously and intentionally reporting incorrect information on our account status to the three credit companies to prevent us from re financing our loan and purchase a new vehicle through financing because we will not pay the additional fees they say we owe.

High-pressure sales tactics
Complaint: It recently occurred to me that the experience I had during the purchase & subsequent financing of my first vehicle with XXXX XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, MD XXXX may have violated consumer protection standards.
On XX/XX/2017 I financed my vehicle with XXXX XXXX in XXXX, Maryland. In the final purchase stage, the financing representative overtly threatened to raise my interest rate which she had offered called several times and offered from Toyota Financial Services. She threatened verbally that if I didn't purchase the add on gap insurance for an additional {$20.00} per month to my {$380.00} car payment, that she would raise my rate she previously claimed to have haggled on my behalf. I told her multiple times after multiple attempts to sell me this product that I already possessed this coverage with my auto insurance and that at this time I don't want to add more to my payment nor to I need the coverage. She was adamant- and she accused me of not knowing what I was talking about since she had not heard of a car insurance ( XXXX ) offering such a clause. I pulled the coverage up on my mobile device, read it, and then showed it to her. The exact quote she said to me was " I can easily call Toyota Financial and have them raise the rate back to the higher figure that I just negotiated down for you. '' I almost walked out of the dealer at that very moment but unfortunately I needed the car more than I needed to leave so I stayed and continued to deny the add- on offerings she presented. It was a terrible combination of aggression and condescension masked by a person pretending to help you- she did not like that I knew about the buying process.
I am choosing to raise the issue now because I still recall how visceral the experience was and I recently chose to learn about this event to see if it was in fact legal. I am hoping your team can investigate to see if this person is still performing such practices and if there should be consequences. It's important to note that while I've worked in sales and other high pressure industries, the predatory approach this financing agent took to my auto loan as a young person may have larger negative implications for other consumers.

Billing problem
Complaint: I was going through my credit report and I noticed that my auto loan with Toyota Motor Credit was reporting late. I had my payment automatic set for the amount that was set by the dealership and the bank that finance my Toyota. However, there were discrepancies on the monthly payment and I was not receiving the statement from the bank for the exact amount. Therefore, I was shocked when I reviewed my credit report and found late payment on the dates below : From XX/XX/XXXX - to XX/XX/XXXX - Please remove those late payments!
I am not sure how these happened, I believe that I had made my payments to you when I received my statements. My only thought is that my monthly statement did not get to me.

Excess mileage, damage, or wear fees, or other problem after the lease is finish
Complaint: Hi there, At the moment to signed the lease with XXXX XXXX City by XX/XX/XXXX - I wanted to make sure there was not hidden fees, reason for which I asked about the other charges for the amount of XXXX $ that appear in the contract to the sales person who explained me that amount will be charge if vehicle shows excessive wear and tear. He explained me that they will have to reconditioned the car in order to sale the vehicle. I believe him and decided to sign the lease. Of course, I also checked online what the term Disposition fee means.
After I received the bill for {$380.00} I spoke with somebody at Toyota and they suggested me to write a letter to Toyota Financial which I did and sent out on XX/XX/XXXX. Today I have been contacted by them saying I have to pay that amount because that amount is a fee that they pay to transfer title to an auction? I do not know why I have to pay a fee to transfer the car to an auction dealer.
My lease ended on XX/XX/XXXX same day I gave back the car and make sure car was completely clean, polish like they supposed to receive it in order to dont get charge that amount. My mileage was law and car was in excellent condition. I am attaching pictures and documents together.

Loan balance remaining after the vehicle is repossessed and sold
Complaint: Three months after purchase of vehicle I called of numerous complaints of issues with the car and overpayment as well I was told that their would be an adjustment and for months it never happened. Months later I am having issues with this car a second time, and I complain to Toyota that im not satisfied with the issuesI keep having as well as them making an adjustment as the promised. Fast forward months later as I continue to struggle with myself about making payments on what I would consider a lemon I decided to give Toyota one last call to try to make some kind of deal regarding the issues as well as the overpayment at whoch time they refused to lower the price, but would spread my payments longer which made no sense. I then told them I was doing a voluntary repo because not only did I overpay, but im continuing to drive what seemed to me was a lemon
