Complaint: On or around the end of XX/XX/2018 or early XX/XX/2018, I contacted my local bank TCF located at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, Co about overdraft fees on my account only to find out that the vendor was not authorized to charge my account and the Bank stated that I should come in and get a new check card and that they would also waive the overdraft fees. Unbeknownst to me at the same time I had cancelled a subscription with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in late XX/XX/2018, I would have never known until XX/XX/2018 that TCF Bank had allowed my account to be charged recurring charges from XXXX XXXX XXXX even though I had cancelled the services with them { XXXX } back in XX/XX/2018. Because TCF allowed my old debit checking cards whether they were deactivated or active to stay on my personal checking account without deactivating them it propelled me to go to my local branch and file a complaint with my Branch Manager XXXX on XX/XX/18 demanding my money back from TCF not XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX even though TCF Bank acknowledged that it was 2 bank check cards associated with my personal checking account they immediately cancelled the card that XXXX had been billing for on a recurring basis on XX/XX/18 and stated that it should have never happened and that I should be getting a refund within 3 to 5 Business days only to be told that it's my fault that I didn't request for my cards o be cancelled after I gave them back to the bank. I was also told that several complaints had been filed for me regarding my complaint and was told by several Team Leads, that I would be refunded {$44.00} and that TCF 's Dispute Department would also be going after XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for the balance of money that had originally been drafted from my account since XX/XX/2018 when I previously cancelled my subscription with XXXX a service I purchased I believe in early XX/XX/2018. I stated to TCF Bank that his is not a XXXX issue it's a Bank error on their behalf because they should have protected my account against theft if the company knew that a customer shouldn't have multiple bank check cards associated with only 1 checking account, but according to TCF Bank and their reps a poor XXXX person as myself with a fixed income can have how many cards on their or vendors or whatever to get money from without your knowledge because that's what happened to me. I've been in touch with several customer service reps, team leads as well as my Branch Manager who originally filed my complaint. After 17 business days awaiting a refund from TCF 's Dispute Department because that's what I was told every since XX/XX/18 until as recently as XX/XX/18- XX/XX/18-XX/XX/18 I was told by rep 's in the Dispute Dept. that my account would be positive by XXXX. This morning I contacted TCF Bank only to be told that they thought I had a Fraud case and being that I don't they will not be giving me any money back on my account but will continue to try and get the funds from XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. I would like to know how is it that I only had 1 bank check card in my possession and it wasn't the one that XXXX was charging and being told by TCF that customers don't have 2 bank check cards associated with 1 account but can have 2 checking accounts with 2 check bank cards which I didn't have with TCF but yet it's okay for you to have active bank cards on your 1 and only bank account for anybody to charge because they were never deactivated. In closing I would also like to know when has it ever been up to the consumer to make sure that our Financial Institutions cancel personal information off of your bank account or credit cards, bank check cards etc, so that companies or scammers, hackers can't continue to abuse or utilize your information for self gain or interest, it's to sad to know that although TCF calls me one of their most valuable customers who have been with the Company for years and always strive to return surveys to the Company to show my appreciation for a job well done with any Rep, or Manager as well as complain when it's not to my satisfaction. Today is a day I would like all consumers to know that because of your Agency the CFPB people like me the less fortunate have someone who can show these flawed companies that little things count the most and to stop misleading or misrepresenting what the Company 's true dedication is to their customers because it's not fair to feel as though you can't trust your bank when the company is truly at fault and not willing to admit let alone take care of their consumer

Complaint: I am filing an grievance regarding funds that where stolen from my account. On XX/XX/2018 I have left USA and went to XXXX ( please see attached ticket ) and I came back on XX/XX/2018. Because I have 3 cellphones I took two with me to XXXX thinking that one XXXXXXXX XXXX was left at home. I was not aware that I have lost my phone and because I was thinking that my phone was in my home in Michigan. Upon my return to the US I did not look for my phone or logged in my bank account right away, I was able to use my debit card without any issue. All of sudden I have noticed that my account was negative and upon logging in Ive found out that I was a victim of a fraud and Ive contacted TCF Bank and started dispute. TCF representative told me that possibly someone made copy of my debit card and was using it. Before my next trip to XXXX Ive found out that my cellphone is stolen and Ive filled claim with XXXX and new phone was sent to me as replacement. I had TCF Debit card connected to the XXXX XXXX on my old phone ( one that is stolen ) and I had XXXX MasterCard connected to that phone too. My MasterCard was used without any approval and I have filled fraud claim with them and they told me that my MasterCard was used on that stolen phone and I assume that same thing happened with TCF Debit card. Because I did not authorized charges for almost {$10000.00} and when those charges happened I was out of country and I could not make those purchases please refund me my founds under fraud guarantee. Please look at claim number XXXX and in that claim you can find proof of claim with XXXX and Police report with XXXX XXXX PD, also I am sending you my ticket showing that during that time when fraudulent charges happened I was in XXXX. You can also see that during that time I was using my Debit Card in XXXX and that way I was not able to use it in USA. I had filled two fraud cases number XXXX and number XXXX but bank did not give me my money back or provided explanation why my founds are not given back to me. Also TCF National Bank and/or VISA did not provide me with any proof how I could authorize those purchases when at that time I was 5000 miles away in XXXX. Since I am again in XXXX thank you for accepting this Appeal over the email. If you need to contact me you can do it by calling XXXX or by email. Please give me my founds back as soon as possible because I can not m are payments to my bills in USA and my credit score is being hurt! I am giving this statement under penalty of perjury and if any not this information is not correct I am ready to be criminal charged!

Complaint: I was laid off from my job of 18 years several months ago. Prior to being laid off, my fiance had his hours cut at work when I was on XXXX leave with our XXXX child. I was unpaid for the majority of the XXXX leave. We fell behind on our car loan payments, however, we were able to get caught up. We were only 1 payment behind. I called XXXX XXXX XXXX to schedule 2 payments, the past due and the current. I instructed the CSR to schedule the past due payment for that coming Friday and the current month 's payment for 2 weeks later. One week after scheduling the payments I was shocked to see my account was overdrawn. The CSR had submitted both payments to my bank the day I called which was 2 days prior to the 1st scheduled payment. My account did not overdraft at that time, but since the CSR submitted both payments instead of one and not on the date I specified her negligence caused other scheduled payments to overdraft which I was charged fees from my bank and the other creditors. Two weeks later on the date I had scheduled the second payment to be submitted another 2 car loan payments were taken from my bank account. I was not expecting anything to be deducted as XXXX XXXX had already posted both payments 2 weeks prior. Now they have taken four loan payments in a matter of 9 days. This brought my loan balance status to two months prepaid. At this time we were struggling to make ends meet with a new baby and loss of income as mentioned above. Having 2 unauthorized loan payments deducted and the deduction of overdraft fees caused by two errors on XXXX XXXX 's part caused us added stress financially and emotionally. It took several months to get any type of resolution and was never reimbursed for fees. The impact of their negligence had a lasting effect and we never fully recovered. About 4 months after that incident I was laid off from my job of 18 years. I decided to go back to school so that I could find another job that would pay the same amount or better than what I had been making. During this time we once again fell behind on the car loan payments. Back in XXXX I paid XXXX XXXX for the past due balance and made an advance payment for the following month. We fell behind again. I have started a new career and we are getting back on our feet. I explained this to XXXX XXXX and they wanted me to schedule payments with them. I told them I would wire money but due to the previous situation with them taking unauthorized payments I do not feel comfortable trusting them to post the information correctly. The person I spoke with said he understood and would take note. The day I scheduled the wire of all past due payments plus an additional two months payments they repossessed my vehicle. I need to travel for my job. I can't work if I don't have a vehicle. That is our only car. How do I get my car back after it is gone and I have already wired them everything that is due plus prepaid two months? There are many factors involved with how we fell into our debt situation. All are beyond our control. We are finally in a position where we are digging our way out again and able to breathe. Now this happens and we currently owe them nothing until XX/XX/2018. Please help us.

Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX is a XXXX homecare services based in Minnesota. We issued a payroll check to a staff. The staff deposited the check with TCF online into her account number and the check posted as paid by XXXX on XX/XX/18. TCF refused to credit the staff account on the ground that they were investigating the check, despite the fact that it had posted. A manager from healingtorch and the staff went to the TCF bank on XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX MN XXXX, and met with the Assistant Branch Manager on XX/XX/18 to clarify the authenticity of the check and payment. Evidence detailing the withdrawal from the business account and the check image received from XXXX that payment has been effected from XXXX were shown to them including the company 's online business account. Despite all effort, TCF refused to credit the staff account with the money posted to them from the XXXX business account of XXXX. This Bank 's action jeopardise our action to provide effective client service, diminishes our organization 's obligation integrity and put our staff in financial difficulty, and is unacceptable. Complaint: When i check my account the running balance the posted and pending transactions are deducted from what is shown as available. But once the pending charge posts that money is again deducted from my balance. Also the records for my account show that I opened the account with a negative balance. And every transaction that has gone through is then calculated wrong. For example $ -XXXX was my opening balance and I deposit $ +XXXX it would show my balance as $ -XXXX. Or $ -XXXX and I spend XXXX it shows as $ -XXXX - $ -XXXX = $ -XXXX. This is only one of the errors my bank makes that has caused my wife and I to lose an apartment we were supposed to move into and caused us to become homeless and lose our jobs. Another thing they have done is not allowing me to stop or charge back any unauthorized charges made to my account. They make me wait until the charge posts then I have to dispute it and they " investigate '' which takes 6 weeks and the outcome is always, and this is a direct quote, " not in favor of the customer '' even when i presented the paperwork showing that my card number had been entered manually and proof that the bank requested that I was not even in the same city at the times these transactions occurred. The bank had shut down my card then called me to alert me the transactions had happened without my authorization. I never received the money that was stolen because the banks investigation results were " not in favor of the customer ''. When I went into the branch to show the branch manager her response was it's different because you're not on a computer. Also I noticed that at least a month of transactions is missing between XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX which you will see in my attachment. She completely ignored me when I pointed out that it shouldn't matter if I'm on the mobile application, mobile site, computer site or the branch, the information should be the same. And to dismiss me, She printed out the statements from XX/XX/XXXX present and gave me a highlighter to go over. There was no attempt at explaining, apologizing or rectifying the situation. My concern is that the consumer side websites and apllications are intentionally wrong so that money can be skimmed off without anyone knowing. The branch computer then becomes the only place to get account details which forces the customer to accept that information as fact which then takes away the customers ability to manage their own finances. On XX/XX/XXXX our running balance was XXXX $ and some change then after my wifes paycheck was deposited on XX/XX/XXXX, which was XXXX $ the running balance went to XXXX . The bank claims there was only XXXX $ in at the time of deposit but the mobile app and website both say XXXX . We are missing an immense amount of money due to the bank branch having what must be a completely separate ledger than the one I have access to online. The branch withheld several months of statements from XXXX after i requested all statements from XX/XX/XXXX - present and several months are missing from XXXX online. The nearest i can calculate missing is {$13000.00}.
