Attempts to collect debt not owed

Debt collection: Other debt

Debt was result of identity theft
Complaint: Receivable Performance is reporting a collection for a debt I didn't authorize. The mark is negatively impacting my score in which I was recently denied credit. This account is causing me damages. I have disputed it with the credit bureaus and have filed a identity theft report through the FTC and had it forwarded to them as well as the credit bureaus. Im beyond upset about this and want it to be resolved immediately.

Incorrect information on your report

Credit reporting, credit repair services, or other personal consumer reports: Credit reporting

Information belongs to someone else
Complaint: I moved from XXXX to XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX. I tried to get XXXX at my new house and they told me I was not eligible because I had an open acct at my old XXXX address. I explained to XXXX that was a joint acct between XXXX and I and we had split. When I asked XXXX to remove my name from the acct I was told that he had to do it because he was the primary acct holder. I immediately contacted him, we share a daughter, and asked him to call and let them know I no longer lived there and hadn't lived there in 3 yrs. XXXX then called me and told me he had my name removed. When I called XXXX back about 1 week later I was able to get the service with no issues, so I assumed my name had been removed off the other acct and the issue had been resolved since the representative allowed me to open an acct here in XXXX. Apparently this issue was not resolved and there is a delinquent bill at the address in XXXX. I contacted XXXX and explained to them the situation and that I am currently a XXXX account holder and am current on my account. I also explained what had happened when I originally tried to get XXXX here in XXXX back in XXXX and was not able to. At no point was I contacted by mail or phone to even notify me that I had an outstanding balance on anything, and certainly not 2 cable accounts that range from {$150.00} to {$200.00} dollars a month. I certainly would not have let it go to collections. This should not be on my credit report due to it is not my account. This has a negative impact on my credit score and showing I owe XXXX/ Receivables Performance Management in the amount of {$940.00}. Not only was the account delinquent they also have not returned the equipment apparently. If you check anything on me you will see that I have not resided in XXXX since XXXX, or at that address since XXXX. My transfer from my job can also confirm this information. Thank You for your time and assistance.

Attempted to collect wrong amount
Complaint: We agreed to pay {$150.00} a month for TV and internet services for 2 years. I also let them know that we were on an fixed income and could only pay so much a month and they said that they could and would keep the bill under a {$150.00} a month. But every month after XXXX XXXX XXXX took over XXXX XXXX I had to call to let them know that that was not our agreement. So after so many months of trying to get them to fix the problem my husband and I went elsewhere for services. Now XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX say we broke the agreement I didn't they did.

Attempts to collect debt not owed

Debt collection: Other debt

Debt is not yours
Complaint: I WAS A XXXX CUSTOMER FOR OVER 15 YEARS MAINTAINING 3 OR MORE LINES WITHIN THAT TIME. WITHIN IN THE LAST 2 YEARS I BEGAN HAVING SEVERAL PROBLEMS THAT WEREN'T ADDRESSED IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER AND i HAD TO SPEND OVER 30 HOURS OF TRYING TO RESOLVE THESE ISSUES AND DURNG THAT TIME i WOULD GET PASSED AROUND FROM ONE REP TO ANOTHER HAVING TO REPEAT MYSELF OVER AND OVER,, i HAD SEVERAL DISPUTES OPENED AND THEY WOULD BE CLOSED WITH OUT EVER CONTACTING ME SHUTTING MY PHONES OFF, CAUSING ME TO EITHER LOSE WORK BECAUSE I'M CALLED IN DAILY AS A XXXX XXXX OR HAVING TO LEAVE WORK IN ORDER TO SPEND SEVERAL HOURS TRYING TO GET MY PHONE TURNED BACK ON, I HAVE NOTIFIED XXXX THAT I HAVE A SICK CHILD AND I NEED TO BE ABLE TO BE REACHED AT ALL TIMES BECAUSE OF THIS. I WOULD MAKE PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS AND XXXX ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS FAILED TO UPHOLD THEM .... ON 2 OCCASIONS I HAD CANCELED PRIOR PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS WITHIN THE 24 HOURS IN ORDER TO USE ANOTHER PAYMENT METHOD AND XXXX STILL ATTEMPTED TO RETRIEVE THE MONEY FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT CAUSING SEVERE OVERDRAFTS AND BANK FEES ... I ATTEMPTED TO MAKE XXXX ACCOUNTABLE AND THEY TOLD ME TO SEND IN THE BANK STATEMENTS WHICH I DID TWICE AND ONE REP SAID THEY GOT THEM AND NO CREDITS WERE ADJUSTED ON MY ACCOUNT SO I CALLED BACK SEVERAL TIMES AND WAS TOLD TO RESUBMIT THE STATEMENTS WHICH I DID AND STILL NO ADJUSTMENTS,,, THE LAST STRAW WAS WHEN MY DAUGHTER WENT INTO THE XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX STORE TO UPGRADE HER PHONE AND THE MANAGER OF THE STORE TOLD HER HE WOULD NOT UPGRADE THE PHONE UNLESS SHE BOUGHT A SCREEN SAVER AND A PHONE CASE. THIS WAS DISTURBING TO ME BECAUSE I DID NOT HAVE ANOTHER {$120.00} TO ADD TO THE UPGRADE AND MY DAUGHTER BEGAN TO CRY THIS WAS HER BIRTHDAY PRESENT. i WENT BACK AND FORTH STATING THAT I NEVER HEARD OF ANYTHING LIKE THIS AND DEMANDED TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER AND HE SAID HE WAS THE MANAGER. I TOOK OUT MY PHONE AND BEGAN RECORDING AND GOT IT ALL ON TAPE. THE NEXT DAY I REACHED OUT TO XXXX AND WAS TOLD TO BRING THE VIDEO TO ANOTHER STORE TO LET ANOTHER MANGER VIEW IT, THAT IS WHEN I LEARNED THAT NOT ONLY DID HE UP CHARGE US BUT HE ALSO KEPT MY DAUGHTER 'S OLD PHONE THAT SHE OWNED, WHICH ACCORDING TO XXXX HE HAD NO BUSINESS DOING. XXXX ENDED UP REPLACING HER PHONE THAT HE STOLE WHICH IS THE ONE SHE HAS RIGHT NOW ... 6 MONTHS LATER THE VERY FIRST IPHONE I EVER OWNED THAT I HAD FOR 5 YEARS BROKE AND I TRIED TO GO THROUGH INSURANCE AND WAS TOLD I DIDN'T HAVE INSURANCE BUT AFTER SEVERAL WEEKS AND SEVERAL LONG HOURS i WAS ABLE TO SHOW THAT i HAVE MAINTAINED INSURANCE FOR THE ENTIRE TIME I HAVE BEEN WITH XXXX. THEY FINALLY SHIPPED A PHONE LEAVING IT ON A DOOR STEP WITHOUT REQUIRING A SIGNATURE. NOW I HAVE TO WAIT AGAIN FOR XXXX TO DO THEIR INVESTIGATION AFTER ALMOST 3 MONTHS WIT OUT A PHONE I REACHED OUT TO CORPORATE AND THEY DISCOVERED THAT THE PHONE WAS LEFT AND ON A DOOR STEP AND NO SIGNATURE WAS REQUIRED ... WHILE THIS IS ALL GOING ON XXXX HAS THE AUDACITY TO CHARGE MY ACCOUNT XXXX FOR NOT RETURNING THE BROKEN PHONE IN THE BOX THAT WAS SUPPOSEDLY SENT WITH THE PHONE THAT I NEVER GOT. ONCE CORPORATE REVIEWED WHAT WAS GOING ON THEY SENT ME A NEW PHONE FOR ALL OF MY TROUBLE AND I DID NOT HAVE TO GO BACK THROUGH INSURANCE. THE PHONE WAS THEIR WAY OF COMPENSATING ALL OF MY TIME AGGRAVATION, LOSS TIME WITHOUT A PHONE, FOR BEING A LOYAL CUSTOMER FOR 16 YEARS, AND FOR HAVING TO PAY FOR INSURANCE FOR 16 YEARS AND HAVING TO BE WITHOUT A PHONE FOR 3 MONTHS..AFTER ALL OF THIS AND THROUGH HAVING CONVERSATIONS WITH OTHER CARRIERS I FOUND THAT I WAS PAYING OVER {$300.00} FOR 3 LINES AND THE AVERAGE FAMILY PLAN WAS {$100.00} FOR 4 LINES, i CALLED XXXX AND ASKED WHY WITHIN THE LAST 2 YEARS I ASKED FOR A CHEAPER PLAN AND EVERY TIME I WAS TOLD I HAVE A PLAN THAT I'M GRANDFATHERED INTO AND THEY DON'T OFFER THAT PLAN ANYMORE AND IF I LEAVE IT I'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO GET IT BACK. THIS CAN BE PROVEN, I MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO LOWER MY PLAN AND WAS NOT SUCCESSFUL UNTIL I THREATENED TO END MY CONTRACT AND THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN I'M HEARING I CAN SAVE YOU ALMOST 70 PERCENT OF WHAT YOUR PAYING NOW ... I CAN ALSO GIVE YOU LOYALTY CREDITS BECAUSE LOOKING AT YOUR ACCOUNT YOU NEVER RECEIVED THEM ... THIS INFURIATED ME AND I TOLD THEM I WAS CANCELLING MY SERVICES AND THAT DAY I WENT TO ANOTHER CARRIER AND XXXX LOCKED MY PHONES THAT I OWNED AND TOLD ME THAT THE I HAD TO PAY FOR THEM. I HAVE PROOF I OWN THESE PHONES FURTHER MORE I HAVE PROOF THAT THE MANAGER STOLE MY DAUGHTERS PHONE AND I HAVE A VIDEO OF HIM LYING TO US SAYING WE CANT UPGRADE UNLESS WE BY A CASE AND SCREEN SAVER CAUSING ME TO SPEND XXXX DOLLARS THAT I DIDN'T HAVE. XXXX LIED TO ME FOR YEARS KEEPING ME IN AN EXCESSIVE CONTRACT, ROBBING ME BLIND. THIS IS WHAT I GET FOR BEING LOYAL FOR 16 YEARS. I WAS JUST SENT TO THE CREDIT BUREAU AND IN THE AMOUNT REPORTED ARE MY 2 PHONES THAT I OWN AND THAT IS FRAUD. YOU CANT CHARGE ME FOR MY PHONES THAT I OWN. MY CREDIT IS BEING DESTROYED FOR PHONES THAT I OWN. XXXX STILL OWES ME FOR OVERDRAFT FEES THAT I RECEIVED FROM UNAUTHORIZED DEBIT ATTEMPTS. I WILL BEGIN LITIGATION IF MY CREDIT IS NOT FIXED AND MY PHONES ARE NOT UNLOCKED. XXXX HAS SEVERAL COMPLAINTS AGAINST THEM FOR LYING AND KEEPING PEOPLE IN CONTRACTS THAT ARE MUCH HIGHER BY MANIPULATING THEM AND LYING TO THEM ... JUST AS YOU DID WITH ME,,,

Credit reporting, credit repair services, or other personal consumer reports: Credit reporting

Account status incorrect
Complaint: . Here is my complaint, after much research and develop, I dispute the collected data. The marks are prejudicial ; derogatory, non-credit worthy, in-correct & dispute citations reported by XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX. Do these agents take any responsibility according to ( F.C.R.A. ) Fair Credit Reporting Act XXXX against { RECEIVABLES PERFORMANCE }? So I submit to you for examination, that this data also made by XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX violator of the ( C.C.P.A. ) Consumer Credit Protection Act XXXX because its a consumer. XXXX XXXX XXXX said, An unfair law is no law at all its that unfairness which certain aspects are reported while others omitted, its unnecessary complex. I consider fair is removal of all negative citations which prejudges another. Since this type of reporting to perspectives like businesses, creditors employers alike ( places rose colored glasses on their eyes ). Hence it must be fair since both are looking for honest brokers. Fair is stated, PAID/CLOSED and REMOVE ALL HARD /SOFT INQUIRIES reflected.

Complaint: I recently received a notification from the credit bureau of a collections account from Receivables Performance reporting negatively on my credit report. I contacted the collections company to inform them that I never received documentation of this debt and balance was paid in full once left XXXX XXXX XXXX. I have attempted to contact the original debtor but to no avail. Lastly, the company recently sent a email with my personal identifying information regarding this debt which they never received my consent. At this time, I am feeling threatened and intimidated to forcefully pay something that is not accurate.

Debt collection: I do not know

Frequent or repeated calls
Complaint: Since XX/XX/18 I have been receiving calls from the following phone number : XXXX in XXXX, Washington. I am a XXXX, and my XXXX is in XXXX, Washington so when the first call came in, I picked it up, thinking that it was her. It was not. Instead, what I heard was someone mumbling something about what sounded like being transferred to 'customer service ' and then an automated recording stating the following : You will be on hold for a long time. Would you like to listen to music? Press 1. For Silence, press 2. I hung up at that point. At no time did the caller or the automated recording say what company they were calling from. Since that time I have been averaging 1-3 calls daily from this number for a total of 34 to date. They do not leave a verbal voice mail message, although on a couple of messages the sounds of talking and office sounds can be heard in the background. After the first call, I did block this call from my phone, however they continue to call. My research indicates that this is a debt collection agency, however, I do not have any outstanding debt, whatsoever. Also, when I checked the XXXX XXXX reverse lookup they indicated that this is high risk number for Spam/Fraud. Also I am on the Do Not call registry

Written notification about debt

Debt collection: Other debt

Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX I received a notice that I had a new collection on my credit report. Not knowing anything about it I quickly looked up the company and reached directly out to them. They said it was an attempt to collect a debt for XXXX in the amount of {$280.00}. I told them I was unaware of any debt owed XXXX and that I closed my account with them in early XX/XX/XXXX paying any outstanding balances and that the account was closed paid in full. I also said that I didn't want a {$280.00} debt to create a collection on my account so that I was willing to pay it in full to remove it from my report. They said that it would be and so I paid the debt on XX/XX/XXXX, it reflected in their system on XX/XX/XXXX as being paid in full. I then waited until XX/XX/XXXX to check my report again, in which it showed the collection still on my report. I contacted RPM once again and inquired about the collection removal from my report at which time they said that the removal hadn't been processed and to give it until the end of the month to check my report. I waited until XX/XX/XXXX and the collection was still on my report so I called back. This time they told me point blank that the collection would not be removed so I asked to talk to a manager which then lead to be being put on hold for almost an hour and then hung up on or disconnected 3 times before I was finally able to talk to an account administrator. Up talking to them I asked them to verify when the initial notification of the collection was made, they said that the letter was mailed out on XX/XX/XXXX, the collection was listed on my credit reports on XX/XX/XXXX a full 3 weeks before any attempt at notification was made. I then asked where the letter was sent to and they could only provide me with the updated address I gave them XX/XX/XXXX during the phone call in which I paid the debt. When I explained to them that the letter never arrived and that they didn't have my current address on XX/XX/XXXX when they claimed to have sent out the letter they continued to say that it was not policy to remove any derogatory information once it is posted. I then proceeded to ask about the previous phone calls in which I was instructed by their agents that the information would be removed from my report, mainly the one from XX/XX/XXXX, they confirmed that they had talked to me on the prior dates but no information from those calls was available. Had any reasonable attempt been made by RPM or XXXX to collect this debt it would have been paid before being allowed to reflect as a collection on my credit report.
