Complaint: Portfolio Recovery Associates ( PRA ) has placed a collection account on all 3 credit reports resulting in a HARD IMPACT to my credit score. PRA placed a collection account with XXXX XXXX and XXXX for {$1100.00} in XX/XX/XXXX. PRA has never provided a letter advising me of the debt or how to paid the debt within 30days before placing on my credit report. Thats a violation! I disputed this with The credit bureaus and PRA advising that I did not owe XXXX XXXX XXXX and asked them to verify the debt. They all responded as VERFIED AS ACCURATE AND REMAINS TO THE DAY ON MY CREDIT REPORT WHICH HAS CAUSE MY OTHER CREDIT CARDS TO BE CLOSED AND CREDIT LIMITS DECREASED. PRA & the XXXX XXXX and XXXX have violated the FDCPA, FCRA, FCBA and currently PRA IS UNDER A 5 YR SANCTION FOR FDCPA VIOLATIONS AS UNTIL XX/XX/XXXX in OHIO state. This means PRA has not changed its behaviors and continue to defraud consumers such as myself causing stress, anxiety, depression and extreme XXXX due to fighting months about a debt that WAS NOT VERIFIED, DOES NOT BELONG TO PRA BECAUSE I PAID XXXX XXXX DIRECTLY. I currently have a open active XXXX XXXX card. They have violated my consumer rights!

Complaint: Portfolio recovery associates claim I owe an old auto debt for which I called for a voluntary repossession to its original creditor who goes by the name of XXXX XXXX XXXX. At that time I lost my job and couldnt pay for the car. Unbeknownst to portfolio recovery associates, XXXX XXXX XXXX has already made their money back through an auction. I know this to be true because XXXX XXXX XXXX sent me the bill of sale. So if they got their money back, why would XXXX XXXX XXXX get a third party to pay them extra money that they already received from the auction? According to my attorney, since the repossession happened roughy 15 years ago, under the statutes of limitations, portfolio recovery associates are not legally able to sue me after 4 years after the repossession happened. Besides, even if they could sue me, I dont make enough money to pay them because I only make {$600.00} a month through my pension and Im struggling as it is to take care of my elderly mother.

Complaint: A company called Portfolio Recovery has called my landline ( registered with the Do Not Call Database ) every single day for the past few months. Every day, they call from a different phone number so I can not block them. They have never once left any type of message on my answering machine. I have not received anything in the mail and my husband and I have no outstanding debt whatsoever. These calls are burdensome, frequently early in the morning or late at night, and will not cease.
