Complaint: For years now I receive excessive calls throughout the day from Portfolio Recovery. I have told them constantly i did not open this card and my social security number had to have been compromised, I am fed up, I am getting calls 2-3 times a week. Now I am taking action, if this account isnt removed from my credit reports, I Ill formally be filing a lawsuit, I will ask the court to summon the telephone records that would show the amount of times I have been harassed by this company!! I will also request that Portfolio Recovery incur all my court costs. I am not the only on who this happens and i am not the only one fed up, I will gladly start a class action lawsuit for failure to abide by the guidelines set forth in the first lawsuit!!!

Complaint: I reported this matter to the CFPB and Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC gave a company response that they would Cease & Desist all collection efforts as they are not my original creditor and I do not wish to work with them. I was very specific in my request that they remove all negative reporting they are doing to the 3 major credit bureaus as they are damaging my credit profile. Not only have they NOT REMOVED the reports from XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX they are reporting that the account is accurate and CONTINUING COLLECTION EFFORTS as well as having sent now 4 letters to my residence attempting to collect on the debt in question. I will inlude the 8 page letter because it is front to back herein as Portfolio Collection Letter. PORTFOLIO RECOVERY ASSOCIATES, LLC is not respecting my Cease & Desist request they pretended they never recieved also inclosed herein as Portfolio {$310.00} furthermore they are not removing the negative reporting and continuing to VIOLATE my rights. I implore the CFPB to please assist me with my requests. I will Include all documentation to make proof of my claim. The screenshots indicate Portfolio remarking that the dispute is resolved and the customer disagrees. Portfolio is being deceptive and I need help. I am also enclosing reports from the 3 major credit bureaus as well.

Complaint: XXXX XXXX Detective XXXX XXXX from XXXX police department contacted me back XX/XX/XXXX and notified me that Portfolio Recovery never retrieved the police report in regards to account XXXX nor have they requested the police report from their department. Yet XXXX stated to the CFPB they validated the fraudulent account opened without my consent. My ex husband also filed a CFPB complaint because he notified the creditors back in XXXX I had identity theft and fraud under my name yet the debt was sold anyways and the creditors never obtained the POLICE reports. It is their responsibility to obtain this legal active report.

Complaint: I've contacted XXXX XXXX numerous times before they sold this account to portfolio recovery. I also disputed through portfolio recovery and they broke fair Debt collections act by not getting me the correct information in a timely manner. The last time I disputed was XX/XX/13 ... I just received statements on XX/XX/XXXX. They said my dispute is not valid because I didn't send them the correct information. I don't have to send them information because they're the ones that are supposed to verify the debt. I've enclosed copies of letters and stuff that show that they did not comply to the fair debt collection practices.

Complaint: I got this letter / bill in my mail box stating : Dear XXXX your account was sold to Portfolio Recovery Associates LLC. Your bank or creditor made a business decision to sell your debt. We purchased your account on XX/XX/XXXX that was 5 yrs ago. A letter is coming to my address when XXXX died XX/XX/XXXX all creditors were previously notified in writing and with a phone call. Its very disturbing to get a letter like this concerning a loved one who is deceased. XXXX XXXX the original debtor was notified. Before collection is done they perform skip tracing and check XXXX, it shows if the person is deceased, date of death, etc. I know because I used to do collections. I truly believe this company bought this debt knowing XXXX was deceased thinking family members who are not responsible will pay. They need to be fined for deceitful debt collection practices.

Complaint: To Whom It May Concern, The reason for my dispute is PORTFOLIO RC was required to notify me no later than 30 days after furnishing the negative information to credit bureau reports, in writing ... under such section 623, subsection ( 7 ) ( A ). However, in my records, I am unable to locate documentation that they complied with this requirement, which is a violation of the FCRA & FDCPA. Also, PORTFOLIO RECOVERY failed to give me my " Mini-Miranda '' five days prior to placing this derogatory item on all of my credit reports, per Section 807 ( 11 ) & FDCPA 809, Under 809. Validations of date and Mini-Mirandi under Section807 ( 1 ) PORTFOLIO RECOVERY ASSOCIATES failed to send me my initial communication before placing this alleged item on my credit reports further violating the FCRA, with {$1000.00} per violation PORTFOLIO RECOVERY ASSOCIATES is held liable as well for defamation and in the state of OHIO indebtedness with those of other creditors against an individual debtor or codebtors. FDCPA I fail to see where PORTFOLIO RECOVERY ASSOCIATES is in compliance with OHIO LAW. I also have report this account to the FTC, and XXXX Police Dept.I need this collection account to be removed from my credit report.PORTFOLIO RECOVERY ASSOCIATES has not even tried to contact me regarding this Fraudulent collection account. Please have them remove this collection account immediately.
