Complaint: I requested a validation of the debt from collection agency Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC. In my request for validation, I demanded a authenticated copy of an original contact with my signature as per the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, tile 15 U.S.C section 1692g. Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC failed to validate the debt. The only documentation that I have received is a billing statement from the original creditor. I do not consent to contract with Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC. The collection agency is in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

Complaint: I just checked my credit report for the first time in many years, because I knew I had some negatives that needed my attention, I have paid off a few already, but this one is still showing up on my report even though the balance is XXXX. I was lead to believe it would be removed from my report all together.
The balance has always been XXXX, with no late payments according to the report.

They buy charged off accounts to recoup much more money than originally owed. I live on social security and I want pay this because XXXX closed this account and they were satisfied and they reported that to the credit bureau

Complaint: They call my phone at least six times a day from multiple phone numbers. I block these numbers all the time but I am being harassed. I lose sleep and at times it distracts me from my job how frequently they call. I am thinking about taking legal action so I can have peace.

Complaint: An individual is calling me from the phone number XXXX XXXX XXXX. They ask to speak with " XXXX XXXX '' and would give no information as to who they are. This has been a repeated call. I called the number and it led to Portfolio Recovery Associates. After the second call I called back and a woman, I believe the name was XXXX XXXX answered. She indicated that she could not help me unless I provided " certain financial information ''.
I have no outstanding debt. In one of the calls she referred to the wrong address and then asked for my address.

Complaint: I got behind on a credit card account with XXXX XXXX and the account was transferred to Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC. Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC assinged the account to XXXX XXXX XXXX attorneys to file a law suit against me. I receive a letter dated XX/XX/19 giving me 15 days to complete a form to avoid garnishment or pay the debt. I received the form a few days prior to the deadline not 15 days prior. I completed the form and sent in a check with the dollar amount the calculations on the form said I needed to send in to avoid garnishment. I sent the check in priority mail that had to be signed for to have verification and proof of the attorneys office receiving the payment. XXXX XXXX XXXX left the payment sitting at the post office for almost a week so that the time to receive payment would expire and they could proceed with garnishing my wages. In XXXX my wages were garnished for the full amount of the collection being paidout in my two checks received that month. It is now the middle of XXXX and I am receiving calls and collection letters from Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC. stating I still owe {$550.00}. The balance owed was updated on my credit report after they received the first payment from the garnishment but they have not made any other updates since the middle of XXXX. I filed a dispute with the credit reports through my credit monitoring service of XXXX XXXX the middle of XXXX to get the balance updated and that dispute has been reported as resolved and that I still owe another {$550.00} by the credit report contacting Portfolio Recovery Accociates, LLC. This account has been paid in full for almost 2 months now and they are still reporting on my credit as outstanding. I called Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC on XX/XX/19 after receiving another letter stating I still owe them money. They said I still owe money and they can't talk to me because my account has been assigned from them to the office of XXXX XXXX, XXXX. I explained the issue to Portfolio Recovery and they don't care they are not willing to correct what they are reporting on my credit report. My wages were garnished for more than the amount I owed ( owed around {$970.00} and my wages were garnished for {$1200.00} ) and this was completed prior to the end of XXXX. I want them to be forced to correct what they are reporting to the credit bureaus and I want this attorneys office and the collection company both fined so that they stop doing this to people. This is false information, I paid the debt in full almost 2 months ago.

Complaint: Portfolio Recovery called me onXX/XX/XXXX @ XXXX PST. Called from : XXXX. Deleted other calls in call-log, so I don't have them.
When I don't answer the phone they do not leave a voicemail.
The two times I have answered the phone and played their game, they : Refuse to identify themselves. They just say they're collecting a debt.
Ask for my SSN before speaking with me about anything Refuse to send me anything in writing I absolutely will not cooperate with any agency who behaves this way. I have asked them twice to stop calling me. I don't know if they even heard me because after insulting me about refusing to provide my identity to a stranger, they hang up on me.
The only reason I know they're from Portfolio is because I XXXX the number. Beyond annoyed with these calls.

Complaint: I received this a few years ago and was contacted several times. I paid it off bit by bit, and this was fine as of a year or two ago.
I recently was notified by XXXX XXXX of a derogatory mark, and saw that I have a new debt collector for this debit that was already paid off, and it was for a very small amount ( {$180.00} ).
So I don't understand why I am being contacted for this AGAIN at a much later time, and then receiving a mark that severely affects my credit score ( down 60 points from the mark. ) I would like assistance in getting this resolved.
