Complaint: Citi settlement agreement in the amount of {$3400.00}. CitiFinancial withdraw from my XXXX checking acct of {$3000.00} on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX with the understanding that Citi would withdraw {$160.00} for 3 months to pay remaining balance of XXXX. They withdrew the first payment of {$160.00} from my XXXX acct on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. I received a refund check from Citi on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX stating in the memo that the acct was paid out. XXXX XXXX contacted me from Citi in regards to this acct and I faxed her all my documents and I did n't hear from Citi financial anymore. All of a sudden I began receiving phone calls from XXXX XXXX ( OneMain Financial Collection Agent ) and I explained my case and submitted the same documents and heard nothing from OneMain. OneMain then sold the acct to another collections agency by the name of XXXX XXXX which was requesting that I pay the full amount of {$3400.00}. I submitted the same documents to XXXX ( XXXX XXXX agent on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX ). I then contacted CitiFinancial to obtain a refund of the money that was withdrawn ( {$3000.00} ) from my XXXX acct and they indicated that they had no information in their system in regards to my acct or any money paid to settle this debt. I have tried on multiple occasions to resolve this issue and everytime I submit my documents.. the acct is then sold to another agency. CitiFinancial refuse to refund the money I paid them neither acknowledge the fact that I paid the acct was paid out ( stated in the refund check from Citi Financial on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX ).

Complaint: Repeated harassing voice mails with veiled threats. Calling and harassing references. Call from district manager saying I should get a lawyer. In XXXX 2015 I had fallen behind because I was in the hospital 8 days with XXXX. I was getting calls while I was in the hospital. I later realized that I had agreed to insurance if such a situation arose. The manager never once mentioned this to me. I fully understand I have an obligation to pay this amount. I also understand that you can work with the lender to assist in this matter. My experience last year, convinced me that One Main uses this to encourage you to call but the agenda is to try and pressure and harass you until you make an immediate payment. I assume this strong arm tactic is used by this type of lender in an attempt to reduce the percentage of loan defaults. I also suspect based on the number and the harassing nature of the calls, it must be tied to an incentive bonus. However, it does n't excuse their tactics and excuse them from the fair loan practices that they are bound by. When a district manager leaves a call saying he has your file and your employer information and suggesting you call a lawyer was the last straw. I am sure they are well schooled on what constitutes a threat but that is a matter of legal semantics. A veiled threat is not the same as a direct threat, but their protocol does violate the process

Complaint: We had a secured loan with One Main. We paid one off, and they told us they could give us a better deal by giving us an unsecured loan. We did n't know how much the interest was because they kept talking to us about how they would help my husband and I with improving his credit because he had an issue with XXXX. I was not employed but they used my better credit rating to give him a loan with us together. We never were able to see the amount on the loan with interest but since I had XXXX, had a XXXX visit thinking it was a XXXX XXXX last XXXX we ca n't keep up with the amount of interest that we are paying and we got behind on the payment amount because they are charging us over {$400.00} a month and we have nothing left for food or for emergencies. We do not get food stamps as we do not agree with doing that, we try to pay our bills. We have more than paid back our loan amount and this company calls twice a day to both of us. I have XXXX and do not even want to answer my phone since I have only been employed as a painter and the weather has been too cold to do that. It 's a reasonable amount of money but it is by the job and I have only a few hours in on the job since XXXX. One Main keeps piling on the fees and the amount owed and we can not catch up to what they say we owe on our amount owed this month. It 's showing near a {$1000.00} or probably more now. We have paid regularly to them but it is never going to catch up. We received in the mail a letter saying to come into the office and they would be willing to help us lower our interest rate, and they would help us with making our payment better. We called and made the appointment the night that the letter came in the mail and went in the next day. We were very punctual and tried to get our payment lowered but the only negiotating they did was to renew our information and they tried to get us another loan, which we did not want. and they ran the loan anyway but would not give us one.Unless we get the loan reduced to an amount we can afford we ca n't pay our bills or even go to the doctor or see a dentist with the amount that we currently have to pay. The offer we were extended after they told us that we were n't currently eligible for a 30 % loan rate was for us to pay an additional {$200.00} per month on top of the amount we were already paying. We are behind on our utilities due to trying to pay this large bill and we want to catch up on those. We will try to get a home mortgage if this One Main Financial has not totally ruined our ability to get a home loan. They also sent us to their good friend at XXXX XXXX to get a loan. Beware of both of them. We have been in contact with a lawyer and will be deciding what we need to do next. We have been called twice a day, both of us at separate numbers. We also were left messages saying we have to call the manager. They never said, " or Else '' but it was made to sound like it was call or else something bad will happen next.

Complaint: We have a loan with One Main Financial that is partially secured by a vehicle that we own. Recently, we experienced a bit of financial hardship and fell about a month behind. We received several calls and a few letters from the creditor. I finally spoke to XXXX at the OMF branch that is closest to us and scheduled an appointment to refinance the loan. She said she 'd call me before the appointment to confirm but she never called. The following week someone from the company contacted my brother, a reference listed on our loan, and told him that they were going to repossess the vehicle if I did not pay on the account. We scheduled another meeting with XXXX and went in to discuss the loan and what happened regarding the contact with my brother. She said that they determined that the person who made this call was terminated as they found that she had done several other things that were not permitted. At this point, XXXX said that they could remove our vehicle from the loan as collateral and refinance the loan without it. We told her that we wanted to confer with an attorney regarding our rights surrounding the violation of the FDCPA. The attorney suggested that we go ahead and refinance the loan with OMF since they were willing to remove the vehicle as collateral. I contactded XXXX again to advise of the findings from our meeting with the attorney and she advised me that they would not be removing the vehicle from the loan and could only refinance the loan with the vehicle still listed as collateral. I have a recording of our full discussion where XXXX said they would remove the vehicle as collateral as well as the conversation about the employee who was terminated for the violations that were discovered.

Complaint: Springleaf Financial contacted the HR Department at my job multiple times and disclosed to them that it was regarding a debt. They even asked the HR Department to hand deliver the message to me. Now I am facing losing my position in the company and possibly my job. In addition, they call my office and cell number around 4 to 8 times per day every day. I never intended to not pay my debt. Medical circumstances have complicated my financial situation due to a XXXX.

Complaint: Springleaf Financial is another one that started in XXXX County because that is where I live. Payments were being taking out of my check regularly to satisfy my amount due. However, at some point again XXXX County stopped taking the payments. Instead of Springleaf contacting me to make arrangements, the also went to XXXX County after 5 or so months. I believe that this behavior from them is being taken against me because I requested that they remove inaccurate information from my credit report. I asked that Springleaf remove themselves because at the time I thought that my account was paid in full.

Complaint: After many years with XXXX with a {$14000.00} line of credit that was paid off many times.The loan payment was dependent on the amount i borrowed, sometimes the payment was {$100.00} but as much as {$270.00}. I ran into problems in XX/XX/XXXX due to the economy. I struggled and pulled through. Although, XXXX did not and sold of my liabilities to Springleaf. I was paying Springleaf {$280.00} monthly. The principal never moved and was always at the same amount or increased. As things got better I paid on time more often. Although my loan never really was paid down. The amount i paid over time has totaled XXXX times since XX/XX/XXXX. I then paid off {$10000.00} and brought the line of credit down to a manageable {$4000.00}. I received my next bill without a change in payments. I called Springleaf and they did not have an answer although my contract states principal paydowm should be XXXX % of total. not some made up amount Springleaf wants. The line of credit should be {$130.00} per month with a {$4000.00} balance. This includes principal and interest. They made money on me and now that i am able to repay things Springleaf is trying to squeeze me. I spoke with a manager that had no idea what she was doing. I am easy going and she was polite. She still had no idea how to come up with the calculation. I hope you can help. Thank you
