Complaint: I recently paid off my loan with a paper check from a refinance on my mortgage. I personally mailed the check to the location in XXXX where the loan originated. I called last week to confirm receipt of payment and to verify when the overage would be mailed to me. I was informed by an individual at the store that the refund was issued on XX/XX/XXXX. I have been checking my mail to ensure that the check comes in as our mail has been tampered with in our neighborhood. As of XX/XX/XXXX, I had not yet received the check and called into the customer service number to inquire. Upon speaking with their agent, I was told the refund would be issued from the store and that they did not see any notes within the system indicating the refund had been issued. I asked that someone from the store call me on Friday to relay the information and to see if it would be possible for the overage to be direct deposited to my account as the original proceeds were done. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called back to the customer service number to inquire about the refund information again. I spoke to a female rep that explained regulations indicated I could not get a refund until 15 days had passed. I explained that regulations do not indicate that but company policies do and there was a major difference. I repeatedly asked to speak to a supervisor and was told one was busy and could call me back in 30 minutes. I explained that I had already requested a callback and did n't get one. After some back and forth and no effort to put a supervisor on the phone with me, I explained that I would file a complaint to which the agent replied to have a good day and hung up. I decided to call back and got a male agent who was much more professional. This agent actually read through the notes and mentioned that a manager at the store had indicated notes about possibly expediting the refund ; however, I would not be able to get any answers until Monday as the store is now closed and is not open on the weekend. I am quite frustrated at the lack of cohesiveness in the answers I have been provided and feel as though I am getting the run around. This is not a collateral loan, therefore, I feel as if holding an overage for that many days is not necessary. I also understand that I am responsible for this loan including any returned checks which may be presented. The overage was created from my draft which was not stopped due to pending payoff being processed and therefore the {$210.00} and change drafted out of my account is being held more than the federal reg CC guidelines of 11 days. I would like a formal response from the company in regards to the lack of training on policies and procedures given the numerous different accounts of how my refund would be handled.

Complaint: Applied Online and was Pre-approved for a personal loan of XXXX and XXXX secured with a vehicle. Based on a monthly income from all sources of XXXX. After discussing offer over the phone and learning I worked at a XXXX bar they 'forgot ' to include my stock dividends and capital gains income. So I was only approved for XXXX unsecured loan based on XXXX monthly income.. After documenting assets and income with bank statements, brokerage statements, profit and loss statements for self-employment ... They decided I did not qualify for a XXXX loan with proof of XXXX figure monthly income and XXXX of stocks and liquid assets.
I think this decision not to lend is not based on any logical evaluation of my ability to repay. But rather discrimination against me on the basis of my assumed XXXX orientation XXXX XXXX nightlife entertainer ) or religion XXXX my LinkedIn mentions an XXXX student group I led in college. )

Complaint: I obtained a loan from Springleaf who are now OneMain. I have had trouble paying the loan and the company offered no resolution. They have called and harassed me and to only solutions that they had included paying money that I do n't have or running my credit again. I spoke to XXXX at the XXXX location and was told that the late pays would be removed if I brought the account back current and he did not keep his end of the promise. This account is reporting a higher balance than what is owed on the account and OneMain is a loan shark. I can not believe that I am going through these kinds of changes with this company. I have tried to resolve the issue and have not been able to. I had my account switched to an office closer to me and the manager at the XXXX XXXX he talked to me like I was an animal. He said that he knows what " kind of person I am and his office is not going to tolerate that '' this company has made me feel less than human and are ruining my credit. I have not paid them because they have been deceptive and practices predatory loan antics.

Complaint: I applied for a personal loan online on XXXX for {$5000.00}.
OneMain Financial and several others offered me an approval.
I picked OneMain Financial because it was closest to my house, and they said they could approve my personal Loan.
I contact the office in XXXX XXXX, off XXXX XXXX and a XXXX XXXX named XXXX XXXX, she congratulated me and told me I was approved for a {$5000.00} personal loan I would just need to come in with tax returns and paycheck stubs, bank statements, proof of employment, proof of any assets ( bank statements, credit unions, title of car, proof of address, which she said my registration to my car and gas bill was acceptable.
I rushed in with my info, she spent some time getting my loan through underwriting and went over the disclosure of " where to pay my loan, that some of the money was going to go to pay off my credit card, pay down my other credit card and the remaining would go in my bank account '' On the way out of the office, she was walking me out and Stated that if I was planning to sell my car, to call her and they would release the lien '' I was a little confused, as my understanding was this was a personal loan.
I did not apply for a title loan, search for a title loan or under the impression that I was getting a title loan.
I called six months later, with all my payments being current and never have missed one.
XXXX originally disclosed that if I want to sell my car, just to call her and she would have it released When I called XXXX months down the road she told me that there is nothing she can do to get the lien released, that in order to release the lien I must go and reapply for another loan or have the funds from the sale of the car go directly to OneMain Financial and any remaining balance must be paid in full!
I was outraged, completely confused and asked to speak to her manager.
I told XXXX - the branch manager- that XXXX had broken predetory lending laws, in XXXX XXXX ( as even on their website they state they offer personal loans ) that she waited til after the entire process, I was in the parking lot and disclosed a list of things I needed to do to get my lien released.
which was " sell my car '' 2. Call XXXX 3. XXXX would have lien released.
XXXX then told me that I could apply for a higher loan amount. Which I rejected XXXX then didnt understand how I couldnt possibly assume this was a title loan.
I told her I applied for a personal loan, i got approved for a personal loan and was never disclosed that this was a title loan.
I told her I am not in the profession of personal loans, title loans or auto loans so I did not realize when they told me I was getting a personal loan that that meant a title loan. I told her XXXX asked for my assets and that is the only reason I gave my title of the car as proof that I owned something.
PLease help me get my lien released as I am trying to sell this car and have a buyer willing to pay {$5000.00} today.
