Complaint: I have received a collection notice from Monterey Collections. Their client is XXXX, XXXX. This company went into bankruptcy because they were paying doctors for XXXX and performing unnecessary tests, and were sued. 2 years ago my dr sent me to XXXX for my basic labs ( usual cost around {$200.00} ). XXXX performed numerous other tests and charged my insurance co, XXXX XXXX {$3400.00}. The dr said I would not be charged for these tests which I never consented to. I was not billed by XXXX. XXXX told me it would only bill insurance company, that I was not responsible for amount insurance did not pay. Now that the company has gone into bankrupcy, the liquidation company is apparently putting people in collection for med tests that XXXX never billed us for, told us we were not liable for. I only needed a XXXX, XXXX, XXXX etc.

Complaint: I have been payingon this loan early every month. I get a letter in the mail on XXXX XXXX stating that I am overdue. I called the number on XXXX XXXX and spoke to XXXX Representatives. The first representative told me my account is current and to disregard the letter. I had concerns with this representative and spoke with another representative this representative was very rude and after 15 minutes of going back and forth finally she told me that the reason my account is overdue is because on XXXX XXXX of 2015 they did not receive a payment therefore for every month after that I have received a late payment and they have applied the payment I made for the month it 's supposed to be to the previous month. I had no knowledge of this missing payment I sent the payment in the mail as I have done every single other month I got no notification and was completely unaware that they have not received a payment. I called on XXXX XXXX and was on the phone at XXXX XXXX XXXX minutes before and XXXX minutes after I talked XXXX XXXX she informed me that they did not have my phone number they had tried to contact me they do n't mail out contacts and it was not her responsibility it was my fault and if I could n't provide proof for my bank that it had been cashed that they were completely within their rights to charge me the late payments and continue to play each payment that they receive each month early with a statement that they gave me that goes with each check for the according month she told me that that was their business practice. I asked why they did n't send me a letter some notification something I asked her to hear me out she was rude and horribly demeaning. I did call my bank today and there was not a payment for XXXX cashed. did send this and I did n't know they did n't receive it now they have been charging me late payments for over a year as a penalty and not sent me any kind of notification that I received I 'm stuck and I need help and clearly calling on my own has gotten me nowhere. When I ask to speak to a supervisor I was told there was none available their and there would n't be any available and If I wanted to speak to XXXX I just have to call and try my luck. Those are direct quotes. Please help me!

Complaint: Monterey Financial has extracted a late fee from me even though I have paid them on time. They have stopped my access to my educational program due to stating that my payment was late however they have received my first payment plus late charges and still I do not have access to my class. I have paid them off in full {$2700.00} yesterday but I still do not have access to my class at careerstep.com. I was treated like a criminal even though they did not mail me my loan documents or give me any copies of my financial agreement. I tried to set up a payment system with them thru my bank, XXXX but they do not process payments in a timely manner in order to extract late fees. They should be charged for bank fraud. Complaint: I was recently made aware of a debt that I may owe to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in the amount of {$78.00}. This debt was related to a deposit account I had with this organization. I noticed the debt reporting to my credit files and disputed the information. I was quickly advised in writing from XXXX XXXX of this debt. I made a call to XXXX XXXX this morning XXXX/XXXX/2016 to advise them of my intention to pay this debt for {$78.00}. They had advised me this account was placed with a company called Monterey Financial based out of California. I contacted Monterey Financial when they opened this morning ( XXXX/XXXX/2016 ) and was advised for my account number with them and that my balance is not {$78.00} but {$120.00}. I argued stating that XXXX states it to be {$78.00} and that is what they are reporting. They stated that the account was placed with them for collections over 3 years ago. They had very old contact information and had no way of getting in touch with me. They stated they last attempted to reach me on XXXX/XXXX/2016 with no luck as again the information they had was almost XXXX XXXX XXXX. After going back and forth with their Agent XXXX XXXX XXXX. I decided I was getting no where. So I contacted XXXX again and they informed me that anything they would be charging would be their fees or accumulated interest on my original debt. To the best of my knowledge the FDCPA expressly forbids this. As a consumer I am not required to pay any unauthorized charges such as interest rates, fees, or other charges. XXXX also advised me on this call that only the amount of {$78.00} would be sent to them. I called back Monterey Financial and they advised me that the total amount of interest was billed at XXXX cents/day. This brought my balance to {$100.00} and they were charging a {$20.00} processing fee to handle my payment. They also advised me that they total amount of {$100.00} would be sent to XXXX and they only collect the {$20.00} for the payment fee. As far as I can tell I am paying an unlawful 10 % interest on a {$78.00} debt to capcom fcu and an unlawful {$20.00} payment processing fee to Monterey Financial. I made this payment because I am attempting get approved for a mortgage and was advised this could potentially hinder me. After making this payment I quickly researched and realized that I may have been charged undue interest and payment fees on behalf of XXXX and Monterey Financial.

Complaint: I purchased a dog through XXXX pet store XX/XX/2015. They financed it through Monterey Finance, I was never given the disclosures for the finance charge. The purchase price of the dog was XXXX I have paid a total of XXXX on the dog. The purchase should be paid in full however I have never received a monthly statement showing my balance and finance charges. I finally was able to speak with someone after numerous attempts they stated I still owe a balance of XXXX. It 's more than frustrating that I have paid my payments monthly on time and without and communication from this phantom company. When you try to call them they put you on hold long amounts of time followed by being disconnected. I reached out to pet store where I purchased the dog they stated they could not give me any information.
