Complaint: My wife and I have had an auto policy with XXXX XXXX XXXX for over 20 years and have had an excellent record.Last month, as shown in the attached letter, our rates were raised based on a report from Lexis Nexis Consumer Center ( LN ). We disputed the rate increase, and were told that if we got the LN report, the insurance company may be able to make an adjustment. This seemed fair. However, we have NOT been able to get anything from LN, except corporate stonewalling and rudeness. The only time LN is even half-way nice is when they want to sell us products that we do n't need as XXXX. Today alone I was on hold for over 20 minutes, and was transferred several times. We are paying higher insurance costs as LN has failed to provide requested information. As we ca n't get the bad data that LN has sent in, we ca n't begin the process of correcting LN 's errors. LN appears to be breaking several consumer protection laws, such as the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and title 5 of the Fair Trade Commission Act- which are UDAAPs, as LN seems to be engaging in Unfair, Deceptive, and Abusive Acts and Practices. We think that LN is also engaged in wire fraud, as LN is sending inaccurate data to insurance companies using the Internet across state lines. We also are concerned that LN is reporting to XXXX, a credit reporting company under a Consent Order by your Agency, data on a judgement from XXXX XXXX XXXX which does not have a Certificate of Authority ( CoA ) in Indiana where we live, and without a CoA this bank had not legal authority to file anything to obtain a judgement. XXXX Consent Order requires that they check for these kinds of errors, by XXXX also uses LN. There are other errors that we know about stemming from LN. In summary , LN may well not want to give us the requested data, because in doing so , LN may be exposed to multiple violations of consumer protection laws.

Complaint: I had applied to XXXX and was denied auto insurance due to a report from Lexis Nexis. I had to stick with XXXX since no one else would insure my car ( s ). My XXXX auto insurance came up for renewal and XXXX sent me a Virginia adverse report due to information from Lexis Nexis. XXXX proceeded to hike up my auto insurance cost due to the so called report from Lexis Nexis. Following the instruction in the XXXX report, I wrote to Lexis Nexis to send me a copy of the report. They wrote back to say they could not verify my information and that I should call them. I have called several times, and no one has ever picked the call. If LexisNexis could not verify my information to send me my report, what information do they have to report on?. Unlike my free credit report, LexisNexis is very frustrating and difficult and I urge the government to save us from this unnecessary hardship and distress of several hours of phone call without any result. I deserve to have access to my report. Please compel LexisNexis to release my report so I can correct any factual errors.

Complaint: Lexis-Nexus had erroneous information on my driving record which affected my Auto Policy through XXXX. I had to file a request to receive the false reporting via their auto system. When it came, and I contacted them to dispute it, I had to wait 1.5 hours on hold to finally get someone. She cleared it up w/ in 3 minutes - but not before I wasted all my time doing this. In addition, my auto renewal policy will become due prior to them correcting their false accusations, so I will have to pay a premium on my policy for renewal. Really, really disappointed. This needs to be addressed as I 'm sure I 'm not the only one being effected by their incompetence.

Complaint: I have contacted the credit reporting company, LexisNexis, and am waiting a final response. Dog bite claim description as follows : Our family was visiting relatives ( not on our property ) where our son was XXXX that was owned by another relative not associated with that property. The property owner took out a home insurance claim through their insurance, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, to cover medical bills for our son. The property owner 's insurance company contacted the dog owner 's insurance company and worked out how the medical bills would be paid. Ultimately, all medical bills were paid by the dog owner 's insurance company, XXXX. At no time were any claims run through my current home insurance provider, XXXX XXXX. In summary, it was not on our property, it was not our dog, and we did not take out an insurance claim with our insurance company for the dog bite. I respectfully request that this claim be taken off my property claims report. Attached is a report from XXXX/XXXX/2016 showing the dog bit claim under dispute. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX

Complaint: A subject selection for my issue is not available so I improvised ... My homeowners insurance company notified me that my renewal " premium has been adversely affected by information received from LexisNexis ''. The impact is {$68.00}. I obtained a copy of the credit report. The report reflects that I have XXXX accounts with high credit over {$530000.00}. What they are doing is adding up every single account I have opened in my entire credit history, which they have since XXXX. The reality is that I replaced XXXX cars every 3 years. Report includes all my car loans starting in XXXX. What is the relevance of a car loan I took 23 years ago? How absurd is this? Even though I 've never had a late payment, the length of my history works against me. The report does not distinguish between " concurrently open '', " historically '' and " currently open ''. It is adding together without any distinction among mortgage, car loans and credit cards. The report is supposed to provide a fair representation of my insurance risk, yet the ways LexisNexis is going about it is discriminatory against those with lengthy history. And those with lengthy history are by definition older and deserve the protection of the law!
