Complaint: was one of the victims that got scammed from a scamming online education " mentorship '' business, call " XXXX " Ive used 5 different credit cards to pay for it up for this diamond rank investment as their affiliate. Chase was one of the cards I used to repay for this. I had done everything as guided before had to do the disputes. I first called Chase, then I wrote them a detailed letter provided and explained my case. Ive done the same for all other credit cards as well. ( All these other creditors have given me permanent credit back months already as im writing this, and I have proofs attached ). First Chase denied my dispute. Their only reason was the merchant wasnt recognizable.. And thats it. Nothing else. I asked, if the merchant wasnt recognizable, isnt proving my dispute is rationally correctt?! Theres something wrong its why the Merchant went disappeared. The charges still there on my statement, but Chase only reason was the merchant wasnt recognizable and pretty didnt know what else to say to me. I asked whats that mean? They seemed clueless to even know what that mean..and pretty much just shut me out at that time.
I called again, and spoke to someone else and that person put me under the wrong department this second time. They put me under fraud department this one is for people who got their card stolen or an error on a charge, or got a charge on their statement without their consent. My case wasnt about this. I called to DISPUTE that the company/services were said to be scamming people. So the charge was fine bc I was trying to prove that I prepaid these charges. I was only disputing the services/products werent there!!! So after 2 months, Chase used this reason to deny me saying theres no error on the charge. Then I found out that bc they put me under the wrong department. And they didnt want to do anything else to help me. I then called again and asked to speak to the DISPUTE team this time.. I had to send in my dispute letter again, and documents ..and kept calling them..again..everytime was a different reason for they wont do anything with my case and pretty much they dont care. Back and forth back and forth ..all the lame excuses to deny me. Nothing made sense.
I waited for weeks, then called again and talked to someone to make sure and again and again explained my case. The people who answered the phone seemed to understand my case..my story at the time, seemed to feel sorry for me..but everytime..they have no authority to do anything..they can only forward my case to someone in the back office. Then weeks later, i got a letter and they again denied me and said they never got my documents ( as i never sent them. Denied me also bc they " found no error on the charge ''. I called again, telling them ive got proofs here that ive sent all those documents in, not once but 2,3 times..sent more than what theyve asked and needed from me. Then i wrote them another letter again..send in all documents again, very very frustrating..I called again, asking to speak to a manager. He could only keep saying that they found no error on the charge. I again explained it wasnt about the charge that I said there was an err. I NEVER DID! it was like he talking to me as im 3 years old and cant read or he doesn't even care to read my letter. They always say they read but i dont think they care.
Ive also reached out to the corp office. A lady name XXXX, said she'd create a new case for me. And gave me her phone number and said I could call her if i need to speak. Its been over a month, I havent seen a case created sent to my house or even in my account inbox. I tried to call her a few times last week. NO ANSWER! NO CALL BACK!
I feel as if ive been being treated as a criminal instead of the merchant who's scamming people including me. Everything has happened w my case looks like Chase is just throwing me non sense excuses to defend the merchant but protecting me, helping me who are their customers. I feel discriminated. I have many colleagues, and myself that already have gotten permanent credits back from all other creditors, but Chase Bank! i feel discriminated and the way Chases dispute team been treating me is like they have violated my consumer right as well. Im asking CFPB to look into my case and make things right for me. Its been 5 months ive been dealing with this. Its morally wrong how Chase is treating their customers in my shoes. Its pain for people like me. we've lost so much from being scammed by these merchants, then being treated like this by our bank is something un-human.

Complaint: Hi there, I applied to this Chase XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX credit card sometime in XXXX. The card opening benefits shown to me when I applied to the card was getting XXXX reward points after spending $ XXXX within 3 months of card opening. However, after I spent more that that amount after 3 months, I didn't get the rewards back. I called XXXX first and they contacted Chase for me. Later on, I got an email saying that Chase advised that I didn't get those points because I didn't spend $ XXXX in the first 3 months.
I contacted Chase the first time on XX/XX/XXXX and asked them to look into this. They said I got the offer which was getting XXXX reward points within the first 3 months after spending $ XXXX. However, that's not the offer I saw when I applied and I didn't even know that offer existed. I called for a second time as I heard nothing from them regrading how they would be dealing with my case. They said the previous case was being processed and they were not able to downgrade the offer. I asked them to submit another case for me based off some details I provided with them.
I would like to say that I never saw the XXXX $ XXXX offer when I applied and I just want to get what I should get. I could have spent more if I really got that offer. I haven't heard back from Chase since then.

Complaint: So this is basically the same scenario that happened last time. I quick pay myself on Sunday XX/XX/2019 {$200.00} from my Chase savings acct. to my checking acct. to cover checks that are going to clear. By Monday XX/XX/2019 I had a balance about roughly {$420.00} give or take. So I look on my account today and for some stupid reason I was charged yet again another two fees of {$34.00} equaling {$68.00}. So they, meaning Chase took it upon themselves to wait for my checks to clear then allow my quick pay transfer to go through afterwards. I am not in the red now but, I am charged yet again because they, meaning Chase, dragged to accept my quick pay, literally from one Chase account to another. I don't understand the timing and shouldn't be punished for this. As of Monday my acct. was in the green and I have plenty of money in their to cover. Also their was yet another day were they charged me and yet again the money was in my Acct. ending in XXXX. This transaction was on XX/XX/XXXX. This has to stop or they have to add some guidelines as to how long a quick pay transaction ACTUALLY goes through. My total for fees was {$100.00}. I also have the documentation to prove it as well.

Stating that my deceased mother owes over {$100000.00} for a FHA Insured Mortgage that my parents had with their client JPMorgan Chase Bank they demanded the above persons that I vacate the premises and give all my real and personal property to them or they will take legal action to have me evicted from my home, I asked the above 3rd Party Debt Collectors and Racketteers to Validate and Verify the Debt including complete payment history pursuant the Federal and State Fair Debt Collection Practices Act hereinafter known as the FDCPA, they all stated they don't have to because they are Licensed Attorneys by the State Of Illinois.

Complaint: I got {$12000.00} in fraudulent transaction and my phone stolen. around XXXX of 2017. I contacted chase numerous times and reported the fraud twice. Both times they disagreed and said the fraud was valid. However the investigator XXXX XXXX made one call to me and didn't leave a voicemail. When I called back 3 times I could not reach him nor made any effort to reach back out as he needed more information yet no one told me what they needed aside from a receipt from XXXX showing I replaced the XXXX a few days after the incident. This is highly unacceptable and I'm also reporting this to the attorney general and local law enforcement.

Complaint: I have XXXX different issues.
The first issue is with XXXX credit card, back in like late XXXX or XXXX of last year, I thought I was helping what I was lead to believe was my girlfriend online, however after this young woman told me she would pay me back and pay the card online herself, all of her funds where returned and I was left with this big debt because of her. I didn't know before it was too late that it was what was called the girlfriend scam, needless to say I asked XXXX card if they could help me and they refused to help me.
Problem two which is different from the first one, I had a Chase Freedom credit card which was not yet maxed out but I was working really hard towards paying down the balance up until I was talking with a woman on a social media website & I agreed to go into business with her with a XXXX opportunity, mind you nothing really could be charged to much on the Chase freedom card and once I opened this XXXX website this woman managed to have her friend pay off the balance and asked me to go to different stores and buy gift cards in order to buy more XXXX.. I was at first not going to do it but wasn't thinking much about it and after I did just that I didn't get any calls/text 's or email 's and or phone calls asking me what was going on and Chase didn't do anything to decline purchases or help me out, they looked into the matter three different times and I even filled a report with the FBI online website, however nothing was done to help me out, but instead now my balance is over {$5000.00} dollars before of this & it was just starting to head down towards {$2000.00} dollars. Needless to say I am looking at filing bankruptcy because of this. I really do not want to do that either and I am deeply saddened by this whole thing more so that Chase credit card didn't do anything to protect me and even after I asked them why they never turned anything down or anything like that I got no where at all.

Complaint: My complaint has started off as the Credit Card Company not accepting my dispute despite my evidence to what now sounds like chase Credit Card accepting Fraud from the Merchant based on false service dates and/or a false signature with my name.
Chase Credit Card has refused to refund me money from a vendor with whom I filed a dispute. Apparently, the vendor forged my signature and chase doesn't care when I told them while on the phone with them. The evidence from the hotel was explained to me over the phone with Chase Card Services I made a hotel reservation through XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX for a trip on XX/XX/XXXX through XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX said it was free cancellations and I was provided with the option to not be charged until my hotel stay, which I chose to do ( XXXX attached ). On XX/XX/XXXX, I needed to cancel the reservation. XXXX said due to late notice, I would be charged for 1-night stay since it was 24 hours away. I agreed and canceled the reservation. Over the next 48 hours, I looked for the one night stay as a charge on my CC and it did not show up. When I checked my entire XXXX statement a few days later, there was a charge of XXXX dollars on XX/XX/XXXX by the hotel. A charge that was not supposed to occur based on my selection criteria of NOT being charged up front.
I called the hotel and they refused to refund me the money. I offered to pay the single night. They refused. I filed a dispute with Chase and sent them screenshots of the itinerary, and the one night stay cancellation charge along with the option to pay later during my stay instead of up front.
Chase has the cancellation rules and the itinerary in the form of screenshots taken directly from XXXX 's website.
I just received information today XX/XX/XXXX from Chase that they are denying me the refund. I spoke to two different customer service reps who both gave me different info. The first one said they were denying the claim because the vendor shows I stayed at the hotel starting on XX/XX/XXXX not XX/XX/XXXX and that my dispute was after my stay. This is a complete LIE by the vendor and I showed screenshots of my itinerary through XXXX which Chase must not have reviewed. The reservations dates are very clear. The charge was made on XX/XX/XXXX, it's my check-in date. The Hotel is making it look like I'm disputing the charge after I stayed there. It clearly showed my stay was to be XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX. How do you miss something like this?
Not satisfied with this response because it made no sense to believe this information when I provided the itinerary information, I called a second-time on the same day about 30 minutes later. The second rep, a " manager '' said they were denying the claim because the hotel has a signed document showing I stayed at the hotel and I agreed to the charge. This is another lie because I was never there in XXXX XXXX, nor did I sign any document, online or on paper. If Chase has a signed document provided by the vendor, then its a forgery. My signature could be compared to other CC purchase signatures. They clearly didn't care to do that!
I told them this is a forgery and they simply didn't care. I can not believe this company had such a lack of investigative skills. I was never in XXXX XXXX. In fact, I use my CC for everything and there aren't even any charges in XXXX XXXX which could be proof I was there.
I seriously doubt with the money and resources they have they can't see the truth in this. This is just a lack of care on their part to go through the hassle of making a business angry and fearing their anger rather than a card caring customer. They sided with the vendor over false information and that was that. As long as the vendor reply disputes with any garbage info, XXXX the customer. Chase Credit Card is a horrible business that provides little customer protections and it was XXXX XXXX XXXX that is providing the false info.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2019, my wife and I noticed ( 3 ) fraudulent charges on our joint checking account. All ( 3 ) charges were schooling related - XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX. Neither my wife or I are involved with any form of schooling, we don't have children, and we don't have other family members with access to our accounts. We called and filed a claim with Chase Bank for these charges. Sometime the week of XX/XX/XXXX, we received a letter in the mail from Chase Bank stating that they had concluded their research into the claims and found that the XXXX XXXX charges were valid and that they were taking that money out of our account ( {$110.00} ). We called Chase on Monday, XX/XX/XXXX to figure out what was going on. Chase informed us that the billing address and zip code used in the fraudulent charge matched our actual address and zip code, so they denied the claim. What they did NOT tell us, was that the email used in the purchase was XXXX ( we discovered this later on through XXXX ). My wife and I had to spend our work day digging into this and figuring it out because Chase told us that there was nothing they could do. I spent hours on the phone trying to get ahold of someone at XXXX XXXX after Chase told us they weren't going to help us. Finally, we got a hold of someone at XXXX who told us via email that the XXXX was used with the purchase. This email address is associated with a college in New York. After finding this out, I called Chase again and talked to them about the findings and faxed the findings over to them in order to try and get a refund. However, we haven't received anything back from them as of yet. Chase informed me on my final phone call with them that when they do their investigations, as long as ( 1 ) of the pieces of information in the fraudulent activity match ( email, address, name, etc ), they will automatically deny the claim. So we were denied our refund originally because the person who used our card number illegally had my wife 's name and our address, but yet the email address was based out of New York!
This complaint is not against XXXX, as they did what they could to help us. This complaint is against Chase Bank. They have an entire team who are paid to investigate fraudulent charges on peoples accounts. They completely overlooked the New York email, denied us our refund, and forced my wife and I to do their research for them. Anyone with the slightest amount of common sense would have looked at the email and red flagged it immediately.
As of 24 hours after providing the findings to Chase, we still do not have a refund for our {$110.00}.

Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX purchased flight ticket for {$2100.00}. The card is in my wife 's name, I am on the account. XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX discovered a XXXX XXXX, XXXX and advised I not travel. Filed reimbursement claim with credit card company per their Trip Cancellation/Interruption Benefit. I supplied all documents requested and for the next 3 months continued to supply just one more document for 6 different requests. Such as, proof of purchase with their card, proof of purchase with their travel service, proof of no claim to airline, proof ticket had no value, proof of tax refund from airline all these requests interspersed with phone calls from me. Finally XX/XX/XXXX I received a check for {$100.00}. I called them and amazingly the first person I talked to examined the file and agreed a mistake had been made and they owed me more money. He would call me back that afternoon. He didn't. 5 weeks go by with me calling them each week asking the status. Finally they told me they were just a 3rd party and couldn't pay until the credit card company agreed and that they had sent them an email asking for resolution of the error. On the last call, XX/XX/XXXX, they claimed they still had not gotten an answer to their email and I suggested they pick up the telephone and call them. The lady said she would have me an answer by the close of business on XX/XX/XXXX and would call me, I verified they had my phone number ... she didn't call.

Problem with fees
Complaint: This is a complaint against JPMorgan Chase Bank XXXX. XXXX XXXX XXXX DE XXXX regarding a card services annual renewal fee of {$85.00} that was not refunded to me when I cancelled the card XX/XX/XXXX. When I called customer service to cancel the card because of the recently assessed annual fee in XX/XX/XXXX, I was not told on this call that there was any issue with this fee being refunded. I was fully expecting to receive a check in the mail based on my phone call to Chase. The last four digits of my card are XXXX.
Each month I pay my balance in full online. I do this fairly quickly and often before the due date. I did not notice until the after that payment that I had inadvertently paid the annual fee. I no longer have any credit cards that charge these fees and had signed on with this credit card because they offered one year without fees.
When I did not receive a check in the mail refunding the fee Id inadvertently paid when I paid the balance due in XX/XX/XXXX I was told that I had not cancelled the card within the 60-day time frame. I asked that this matter be reviewed and was told Id receive a letter with the decision within 10 days. I did not receive a letter and called again XX/XX/XXXX. This time I was told I had to cancel within 45 days in order to be refunded the annual fee. I asked customer service if they were not going to refund the {$85.00} fee, to issue me a card so I could benefit from using a card that Chase had assessed me {$85.00} to use for renewal. I was told this was not possible. I found this unacceptable and called one more time to report that I was not told when I cancelled the card that I would not be refunded the fee. No other options were presented to me other than the {$85.00} would not be refunded for a card I cancelled and was not going to use for the one-year fee.
What I find challenging about this matter is that I get offers from Chase frequently to sign up for new cards and/or to open a checking account with them with a $ 300-500 reward fee. Chase spends money marketing to obtain new customers but doesnt honor loyal customers with excellent credit ratings and on-time payments.
I am filing this complaint with the CFBB to describe these unacceptable violations to consumers with Chase credit cards and to seek a refund of the {$85.00} for the yearly fee I inadvertently paid for a card I am not using. I want other consumers to be forewarned of these aggressive fee collections and the non-responsiveness to my first call and follow-up calls.
