Complaint: I have been a customer with Advance Financial ( AF247.com out of XXXX TN ) for some time now, and have over a {$2500.00} credit limit with them, and a 0 balance. I have paid off every loan I have ever had with them early, and never was late on any payments. On Friday, XX/XX/2019 I needed an advance of {$800.00} from my credit line. When I attempted to request the funds online it asked for me to enter my telephone number so I could be sent a code in order to verify it was me, and to get the money. When I didn't receive the code I realized that they probably had my old phone number. I didn't see any way to update my phone number or account online so I called them at XXXX. I spoke to someone who told me that I needed to text him a copy of my DL, which I did from my new phone number. It took several minutes for him to get my text, but he said he finally got it and he took my new phone number and said it would be " reviewed '' and that within an hour at the most it should be updated and I could request the funds online again. After waiting almost 2 hours, I tried to request the money again, but it still would not work, so I called back this time to the XXXX number from their website. I spoke to someone there who told me that if I was trying to request funds they would need to do an electronic verification since it had been a while since I had last taken out a loan even though NOTHING on my account has changed except my phone number. She said that it's basically like starting over since I haven't taken out a loan in a while and my phone number changed. She asked me about my banking information and said she would send me a link so I could do the electronic verification. She also had me email her a copy of my debit card and bank statement, so now they have copies of my DL, debit card and bank statement. I believe this person said she was a supervisor with them, her name was XXXX. After getting the link I tried a couple of times to do the bank verification, but it would not work until it finally went through, and I received a message saying that my banking information was updated. So I'm thinking ok, this is good so now I can request the money. It still would not work, and when I tried requesting the funds online it wouldn't let me enter my debit card number. So I called them back again, and spoke to a lady who said she knew exactly what my problem was, and that it's because I was not selecting to have my payments automatically deducted from my checking account when I tried entering my debit card number. I told her that I would try again, and select this. When I did, it still would not work, and a message came up saying it could not be processed at this time, and to call XXXX. This all started around XXXX est on Friday morning, and by now it is after XXXX. I'm also trying to do all of this from work, and it has greatly interrupted my working trying to deal with all of this. I called them back at this same number AGAIN, and spoke to another lady who said that I should go in to a local store to request the advance, and that it would be quicker. She could not give me a reason as to why I should do this, other than it would be faster, but promised me that I would be able to get the funds from them. So, now I have to leave work early to go to a local store, and it's now past XXXX. When I get to the store on XXXX XXXX in XXXX, I tell the guy working there ( XXXX XXXX ) my issue, and that I was told to come into a store to get the money. When he pulls my account up online, apparently he sees a note saying that he needs to call a number because my account is " locked ''. I don't know what number, or who he called, but they told him to fax them a copy of my bank statement and debit card. Mind you, they already had received all of this information earlier this morning, which I told him. I gave him the information to fax to them, which he did, and he gave me a copy of the confirmation sheet. He said that they told him once they got this, they would have everything and my account would be unlocked after it was reviewed, but it may not be that I can get the money today ( Friday ), and may have to wait until Monday since it's already getting close to XXXX. I told him that I was not too happy about this, and have been trying to get this money since XXXX this morning, and he apologized and said he understood, and he gave me his number, and said he felt the account would actually probably be unlocked this evening, or by 6 their time, which would be 7 my time. He said if he heard anything before then, that he would call me, or I could call him back. I asked him if he knew what the problem is or why it's taking so long, and he said that he did not know, and that he had never experienced anything like this before. Of course I didn't hear anything by XXXX from anyone, so instead of calling him back at the local store, I called the XXXX number back again, and spoke to a lady who said that it looks like they do have everything, but are just waiting for it to be reviewed. She said this shouldn't take long and that she would be working until XXXX, and would give me a call herself to let me know if the account was unlocked. Of course, I didn't hear anything, and kept trying to get the funds online, but it was not working, and still said to call the XXXX number. I tried to request the funds again this morning, XX/XX/2019, but my account apparently is still locked, and says to call the XXXX number. I give up! This is a terrible way to do business, and I don't understand what could take so long to review someones account, especially when they are a current customer who only had a phone number change on their account. Not to mention, that I was a very good customer. I want this company to permanently delete or cancel my account, and my line of credit with them. There are too many reputable companies out there that will loan me money without this type of hassle. It seems like either the employees do not know what they are doing, or this is just the way they choose to do business. Either way, this is a terrible way to treat customers, especially good customers, and I feel their practices should be investigated. They need to look at all of the really bad reviews they have of customers complaining of issues very similar to what I experienced. Sincerely, A very unhappy customer!

Complaint: I have a installment loan with this company and am struggling to make the payments so was working with there financial dept, the agreement was XXXX a payday and I missed a payment by accident, and they unauthorized a charge on my debit card for XXXX with out notifying me and kicked me out of the program. I cant afford to have this much money just removed from my bank account. And the agreement was XXXX and no interest. I have disputed this charge thought my bank but it could take up to 90 days for a approval tried to speak with someone at main branch of advanced financial but they refused to refund the money. This is a unscrupulous company once they get your info they charge what they want. And I have been under a debit management company which they refuse to corporate with. They have poor business tactics. And I just want my money returned asap I had just got paid and was going to take care of my payment but they cut me off before I had a chance.

Complaint: I got a flex loan from advanced financial. At the time I had done this many times before successfully with on time pay back in full. I lost my job after my divorce and went from XXXX a year to under 20k. The company keeps drafting money that isnt in the account or waits with a pending withdraw until money is in there. On the 1st I didn't have the payment in my account. I stopped by the store and they said it was already being pulled from my account. They drafted every cent I had for my power bill. I do not make enough to pay the minimum two week payment of XXXX interest only. I need help. The store said to call the customer line and they would help. I was put on hold after explaining g my request and no one ever came back. I have a photo showing a 38 min call to the company. I am in big financial trouble and no one at Advanced financial will help!

Complaint: I got a loan from Advance Financial. They say that it is an " installment '' loan, but their business is more set up like a Payday/shark loan type establishment. They accrue interest daily on accounts and the APR is almost 300 %! Their current statement shows that I owe them {$4400.00} for an original loan amount of {$2600.00}. This is after they took out a payment of {$560.00} last week from my bank account, WHICH I DID NOT SET UP AS A PAYMENT IN THE FIRST PLACE. But neither my bank nor the company will refund the funds that were taken. I don't see how they are operating legally with this type of exorbitant interest charged to " customers ''. Their guise is that they are a " family lender '', but are really financially raping and taking advantage of the most vulnerable and economically disadvantaged people. I talked to a bankruptcy lawyer, but he thinks it would be better for me to settle with any accounts that I can on my own. They emailed me a " settlement '' for {$4300.00}! I found that insanely amusing to offer a " settlement '' where they are profiting almost DOUBLE!!!! ( In addition to the almost {$600.00} they just took from me. ) I think this company needs to have a class action lawsuit brought against them, and repay some of the money they swindled from the " families that they helped ''. I made a partial payment on my account on XX/XX/XXXXand set up a partial payment for the XX/XX/XXXX, and was unable to pay due to going on emergency LOA on XX/XX/XXXX that was unexpected due to complications related to my XXXX. I have been with XXXX XXXX, XXXX Tennessee since XX/XX/XXXX and have always made my payments in a timely manner and always contacted them if I would even be a few hours late paying. I called as soon as I new it would be a problem to make that payment They informed me they do not have a Hardship Program for my situation even though they have made over {$2000.00} in interest payments from me over this period of time. It was a situation where I needed to get away from a XXXX XXXX situation in XXXX, Tennessee and needed to open that again as important for me to move to XXXX, KY. So since they do not have a hardship program for me, they specifically threatened me with collection process that would even send me to their ATTORNEYS for immediate action and that I would no longer be able to talk with them. I feel this is very unfair practices since I have been so loyal to pay them when due. Please advise if I have any rights to this. I had a bankruptcy inXX/XX/XXXX Chapter XXXX and that affected my ability to get any type of traditional loan. Complaint: Well I sent over a copy of my ID, bank statement. The company said I was approved for a line of credit of {$350.00}. I talk to one of their representatives and he told me all I had to do is send over a copy of my pay stub. I sent that over and call back again. I talk to another representative and she said it will take 45- 1 hr to see if I was approved. I never received any info from them so I called back 5hrs later and they said I wasnt approved. I asked they why not? They told me because they said they needed a copy of my SS card. Right then I know it was a red flag because I never had to use my SS card for any loan.

Complaint: For the last 6 paychecks, Attorney XXXX XXXX has been garnishing 25 % of my wages without notifying me of a lawsuit against me. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called their company and spoke with someone who said that they did serve me the paperwork, however, I informed her that I was never served. According to the paperwork they have, they served me on XX/XX/XXXX at an address that I have not lived at since XXXX. I am not sure whose signature they obtained when they " served '' me but I never received any notification from them. When I notified the attorney of this, they said that I would need to send a down payment in order to stop the garnishment and start a payment plan. They have already taken {$280.00} and I already know that I can stop the garnishment through my civil courts. I would like to file a formal complaint against this attorney for illegal practices and possible forgery of legal documents.

Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX, I processed a payment to be applied to reduce the principle amount to help payoff the XXXX XXXX loan. I submitted the payment incorrectly within the online website and called the company to help allocate the funds to the correct fields. I was told that they are not able to do that and all of the money paid will go to interest. I stated that that is unfair practice to take additional payments and place them to interest. When I am a good customer who is already paying the monthly fees and interest. All of the funds I pay extra should go to the principle. I committed to paying XXXX XXXX XXXX but as I was entering the funds I typed in {$150.00} dollars in error so I went in to pay the other {$50.00}. They called my and said they still would not apply the {$150.00} to the balance to help me pay the account down. I don't think this is far as I tried to call them within 10 minutes of making the payment and they still will not move the funds to reduce the balance. They did not tell me to hold off on paying the total amount of {$200.00}. They refused to fix the money and say they are keeping the money for interest leaving me with the same balance and on the XXXX they will take the same interest as if I pay nothing. XXXX XXXX, https : XXXX # x. XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, TN XXXX XXXX. This is a unfair practice. This company wants me to continue to be in debt and it will take forever to pay them off if they keep continue to limit my option. I called them right away to help and they said their system was not able to fix the issue. It is not fair to have application where you can not correct the payment within the same day/hours.

Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX I took out a loan/line of credit with XXXX XXXX the credit limit offered was {$1600.00} but I only took {$800.00} at the initial time. I made payments to the loan, but made some additional withdrawals, never exceeding the approved amount of {$1600.00}. Unfortunately I fell on hard times due to loss of employment and could not pay in XX/XX/XXXX. But XXXX XXXX is now stating that I owe {$4500.00} that is a difference of over {$2900.00} in fees. I received a letter from an attorney stating that I owed a total {$4700.00} and the letter from the attorney says my financial obligation {$3500.00} plus attorney fees of {$1100.00} that says now the total is {$4700.00}. I contacted the attorneys office advising that the balance was incorrect and asked for statements and a description of the amount owed. The attorneys office sent a print out of transactions that is " not '' on XXXX XXXX letterhead, and did not provide a description of charges and fees that they were adding to a balance that they are not the original creditor on. They did send however a " XXXX XXXX Flex Loan Plan Disclosure and Account Agreement ''. The attorneys office sent a letter and stated in the letter, " Since we understand that you do not plan to pay this obligation voluntarily, we will proceed with suit. '' I never said that I would not pay and the letter I sent them was to get the correct balance so that I could pay. I do not think that it is fair if they contacted and I responded for them to assume that I did not want to pay. I just am not in the position to pay the absorbent amount of fees being charged when the flex loan did not exceed {$1600.00}. I simply sent the letter to find out where the additional charges are coming from. I want to settle, but I do not feel they should try to sue me if I am willing to work with them. I called the attorneys office and they just keep saying the amount is accurate and still failed to provide me the info on where the additional monies are being added. One statement shows one balance and the attorneys letter shows a different balance. It shows two legal fees of {$85.00} and {$42.00}, but the attorney listed fees on the letter they sent {$1100.00}. I am still baffled as to where these amounts are coming from.

Complaint: Loan was going fine until i changed jobs, which changed my payday. And bounced right after that, contacted and gave them the new info, date was never changed, cost me more in overdraft fees. Contacted many times never changed it, then because i was behind they just started debit my account with out my permission and not on any agreed day, this hurt, more overdraft charges, i aked them to remove me from the auto pay on XX/XX/XXXX, they did not, more overdraft charges, then they hit my account on their own for XXXX bucks 2 days in a row. nearly lost my apartment and car due to that little mess. eventually they did remove me from the ach pay and stopped debiting my card, saddly the damage was done. now they are taking me to court. Also i had tried to reproduce their billing, and never could get there numbers to add up, so i had a few others much smarter than i check it, and they stated that the numbers didnt add up and something was very fishy about the interest i was paying ... i believe this is true

Complaint: On XX/XX/2018, I had apply with a loan with XXXX XXXX through a mail advertisement of being preapproved for up to {$4000.00} on an installment loan. I applied on their website at XXXX and was approved for {$850.00} credit limit with a 360.00 % interest rate. I had every intention to pay this loan in full within 28 days because I did not want to pay on this high interest loan. I was dealing with a hardship after being out of work and receiving treatments for a XXXX XXXX. Due to this hardship there were a number of occasions where I had to change the due date for a later date. To date XXXX XXXX debited my account {$790.00}. XXXX XXXX increase my credit limit with an additional {$150.00} which I have no intention of using and I still have a balance due of {$790.00}. If I was able to pay off this balance today the amount that XXXX XXXX would receive from me is {$1500.00} for a {$850.00} loan

Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX, I was offered a higher paying position with a new employer. Initially, I was exuberant over the news. When I put in my two week 's notice, that's when the problems began- my employer stated that instead of waiting the two weeks, they would simply " accept my resignation now '' - and just like that, I was out of work unexpectedly through no fault of my own. Due to the start date of my new job and how everything worked out, I had to go an entire month without receiving a paycheck, and there I was ... in an incredibly difficult position financially, worried about losing everything I had worked so hard to obtain. I did everything I could, payday loans, loans from friends and family, anything and everything ... but the debt was severe, far more than I have ever had. I had received many mailers for fast loans over the years, and in desperation, I finally decided to use one. The company stated that they would offer a " line of credit '' to me, and them calling it a line of credit lead me to believe they were a bank of some sort. Having exhausted all possibilities for my continued financial survival, I used their service, received the money, and planned to pay it all off as fast as I could. This transpired in XX/XX/XXXX. I was aware of the anti-usury laws at the time, and it never even occurred to me that these people would do what they did- charge interest rates of over 360 %! The financial turmoil did not calm down due to that single setback that XXXX however, and I struggled to get caught back up on my payment schedules. My bank account remained constantly overdrawn. My rent was constantly late. I am not accustomed to making late payments, and the stress was unbearable. Through much work, I now have paid off all of these things, save one, the entity that I now file a complaint against. Now we are at the current date. My wife is XXXX, and unable to work. While still recovering from one financial problem, I now face another, and while every other entity involved in my finances has been understanding and worked with me to get me on a payment plan that will allow me to care for my soon-to-be XXXX, this organization refuses, despite having a clause in their contract that should I report a change of income to them, they will allow me to get on some type of payment plan. This company refuses to allow me to close this " line of credit '' as they call it, until I pay back the full amount, all so that they can continue to charge interest on it every 30 days at a rate that is far higher than any state usury law permits. It is unfathomable and abhorrent that businesses are allowed to sidestep the obvious intent of usury laws with technical nonsense in good conscience! All I want is the account closed, and a payment plan made for the current due amount. I have even offered to pay the industry standard interest of 36 %. Having not missed a payment, and having the account still " in good standing '', this is still not acceptable to them!? Ridiculous. As it stands today, they refuse to negotiate the terms of closing out this loan. I have ensured they will no longer automatically deduct payments from my account and I want everyone to know the ordeal that these types of loans create- you will never get out from under a 360 % interest rate. It simply isn't possible! Stay away from these lenders! Even the so called clauses in their contracts that are there to ease the financial burden are simply lip service so that they don't get their XXXX kicked by any given attourney general! What is worse, is that this organization told me just today, on XX/XX/XXXX, that they are licensed lenders in the state of virginia- yet on their website, no such license is documented, as it is with other states. In fact, this organization may not be licensed at all! Due to this, my lawyer is looking at the legality of their business, and I would humbly request that the CFPB and Virginia Attourney General do the same.This type of usurious lending is immoral and has been legislated against countless times, only for some LLC to call it something else and do it all over again! A loan is a loan, and no loan should be outside of the laws of this sovereign nation and it's regulation, no matter what they call it!
