Unable to receive car title or other problem after the loan is paid off
Complaint: I have purchased my vehicle in XX/XX/XXXX and financed it through XXXX XXXX XXXX. In XXXX of XXXX, I have completely paid off my loan. Since I did not get my title after paying off the loan, I contacted Hyundai in XX/XX/XXXX and asked to release my lien with XXXX XXXX and send me a letter confirming that my loan is paid off. I did not get any confirmation letter.
At the end of XX/XX/XXXX I have decided to sell my car and contacted XXXX XXXX department to get my title. At that time I have discovered that the lien on my vehicle is still not released. After 5 calls to Hyundai and almost 9 month after paying off my loan, I still can not get my title. XXXX XXXX does not accept paper proof that I was able to get from Hyundai that my loan is paid off and Hyundai is failing to release my lien electronically.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I had purchased a XXXX XXXX XXXX, VIN # XXXX, from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in Florida. On the date of purchase, I also opted to purchase Gap Insurance for {$740.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX, I was involved in an accident that was deemed to be a total loss. On XX/XX/XXXX, I went back to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to purchase a new vehicle and purchased a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, VIN # XXXX. I 'm including a copy of both sales contracts to this complaint. At this time, I was told by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX that the payoff on the totaled vehicle would be handled by them.
On XX/XX/XXXX, my insurance company on the totaled out vehicle deemed the vehicle to be a total loss. A check was issued to XXXX XXXX XXXX in the amount of {$18000.00}. The claim with Gap was supposed to be filed on XX/XX/XXXX which was supposed to cover the difference of what was owed on the vehicle.
I had also reached out to a finance manager by the name of XXXX XXXX who initially assisted me with the purchase. On XX/XX/XXXX, he had received an email from my insurance company stating that the vehicle was a total loss and had forwarded me that email.
On XX/XX/XXXX, I was on the XXXX XXXX XXXX website and noticed that there were late fees and that the existing loan still had n't been paid. I sent an inquiry to them on that same date explaining what was going on, which I 've included in this email. I also reached out to XXXX asking what was going on.
The check that was issued to Hyundai was not cashed until XX/XX/XXXX, three months after the car was totaled. I stayed in constant communication XXXX in regards to why this matter was taking so long. On XX/XX/XXXX, I emailed XXXX again asking his assistance to why this matter was taking so long for GAP to pay out. He responded on XX/XX/XXXX stating he did n't know why everything was taking so long and that he 'd be contacting XXXX XXXX XXXX to see what was taking so long. I 've also included that a copy of that email. This was the last that I heard from them.
I have also stopped in the dealership multiple times trying to rectify this matter and was told that XXXX no longer works for the dealership and now the dealership says there is nothing that can be done and that I have to go through GAP. When I contacted the GAP company in XX/XX/XXXX, I was referred back to the dealership who continued to refuse to help. By this point I did n't know who else I could try to help with this matter. I tried contacting XXXX XXXX XXXX who referred me back to the dealership. With all the time and emphasis up to this point, I felt that I was at a loss.
In XX/XX/XXXX, we started the process of looking to purchase a new home. When our credit was pulled, this matter came back to haunt us. I started working with a representative with XXXX XXXX XXXX to help try and get this matter resolved. We tried contacting the dealership for the XX/XX/XXXX lease for a copy of that contract. They we 're unwilling to provide this. One rep went as far as stating that they have no history of this purchase. We were again told that we need to contact GAP. I contacted them with XXXX XXXX XXXX on the phone on XX/XX/XXXX. After 30 minutes on the phone, we were told that the dealership called and cancelled the GAP contract on XX/XX/XXXX, the same day that we leased the XXXX XXXX XXXX. Also the same day that we were told that the dealership would handle the payoff and GAP claim. I asked the GAP representative if she could provide me with the name on the individual who called and cancelled that GAP policy and I was told that they are not privy to that information. I never gave any permission for this GAP policy to be cancelled, as there should have been a claim filed for the accident seven days prior.
My assumption is that whoever working in the accounting department at the dealership treated this call to GAP as if the totaled out vehicle was a trade, and accidentally did NOT file the loss claim with them as they should 've done. And for this reason, I am being punished by it.
On XX/XX/XXXX, I called XXXX XXXX to lodge a complaint against the dealership. After spending three hours on the phone, along with having to call back because of two calls that were " disconnected '' on their end, their only resolution was that the complaint should be against XXXX XXXX XXXX and that the only thing they can do is try to get the General Manager on the phone to try to improve communication between the dealership and me.
I still have a balance owed that is showing charged off on my credit report. This debt will prohibit me from being able to purchase a new home. My loan closing is scheduled for XX/XX/XXXX and I have to be out of my current rental by XX/XX/XXXX as our current place has been re-rented and the new tenants are scheduled to move in on XX/XX/XXXX.

Complaint: I had been going through a difficult financial situation and had 3 late payments on my XXXX XXXX. A representative from XXXX called and made me the offer to make a payment in full for the entire balance on that day and the late payments would not show up on my credit report. Complaint: On XXXX XXXX XXXX I received a letter from Hyundai Motors Finance- Payoff Dept. that referenced to my pay-off amount of XXXX. I called Hyundai Motor Finance on XXXX XXXX XXXX to inquire about balance. Hyundai Motors Finance informed me that there was interest that accrued over a period dating back to the months of XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX payments. Hyundai Motor Finance also asked me to contact the gap insurance company. I corresponded with the gap insurance company who referred me back to Hyundai Motors Finance to resolve this matter. The pay-off amount should not be my responsibility due to my insurance company XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and my gap insurance benefits have already covered the total loss of my vehicle. My complaint with Hyundai Motors Finance is that they are charging me for interest and fees that should have been included in my monthly payments. Hyundai Motors Finance was unable to provide me with the proper documentation for the interest and fees. I am unable to access the account due to Hyundai Motors Finance freezing the account during the insurance claim to prevent further payment action.

Complaint: Late charges only are being reported to my credit. No payments, only late charges. The late charges also should not have been assessed. In good faith, I returned an extension agreement in XXXX2016 that Kia Motor Finance refuses to accept. It was received by mail after it expired. They refused to fax or email it to me so that I could return it in a timely manner. This was also after I had paid a fee for the extension. I do n't know where those funds went. In addition, they were asked to not make dialer calls to my cell, only manual. They changed my cell to a work number after a few months and continued to call me on a dialer. When asked to mark both mine and my husband 's work numbers as do not call, they refused to do his without speaking with him. I should be able to identify a do not call number whether it is mine or my husband 's.

Complaint: On or about XXXX XXXX, XXXX, I learned that Hyundai Motor Finance erroneously reported to XXXX and XXXX credit reporting agencies that my car loan was at least 30 days delinquent in XXXX XXXX. I called Hyundai Motor Financing to inquire about the claims. The customer service representative did not show that my account had ever been 30 days delinquent since the inception of the loan. The representative further suggested that I dispute the reported information in my affected credit report files. Shortly thereafter, I disputed the claims with both credit agencies. Around 30 days later, I learned that the reports were not changed, but simply updated. My car loan payments are due on the XXXX of every month. I plan to upload my payment history from Hyundai Motor Finance that proves that my XXXX XXXX payment was not 30 days late. In fact, the XXXX XXXX payment was made on XXXX XXXX, XXXX, according to the financing company website.

Complaint: Purchased a new Kia from Kia Motor finance XX/XX/XXXX and 5 months later it was totaled by another driver that hit me in XX/XX/XXXX. I was making my monthly payments that Kia was slow to report on my credit report at first. When the car was totaled, the other insurance company made a pay off in XX/XX/XXXX which did not settle the balance. I had to do a dispute to show the reduced balance since Kia was still showing the full amount due. The dispute was done XX/XX/XXXX and completed XX/XX/XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX Kia started calling me to make payments when I told them it was in a law suit and would be settled. I finally made 2 payments of {$400.00} on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. Kia never reported those payments. I received my settlement in XX/XX/XXXX and Kia accepted a reduced offer of {$2200.00} for the balance on XX/XX/XXXX. I had to call about 20 times till I finally got my pay off letter on XX/XX/XXXX. I started another dispute since the 2 payments were not showing up and finally on XX/XX/XXXX my reports were updated but had the wrong information. It showed account was open and there was a balance. It is taking me so long waiting the 30 days for a dispute so I have turned to you to see if I can get results in a more timely matter.

Complaint: I visited the XXXX XXXX on XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX, NJ, I got into a new lease on XX/XX/XXXX of a XXXX XXXX XXXX at a monthly rate of {$470.00}. I made a {$4500.00} down payment including taxes. At the same time of this lease, I was also trading in a new XXXX XXXX XXXX car that was purchased on XX/XX/XXXX for {$23000.00} with a down payment of {$5500.00}. This car was financed at 16 % for 72 months. I brought this XXXX XXXX XXXX back with XXXX miles. The rollover value into the new lease was {$6900.00} vs the car 's actual value. The remaining balance went into the cost of the lease impacting the monthly payments with negative equity from the previous undervalued, high value trade in. This car most certainly sold for more than I received as trade in value. My monthly payments are unnecessarily high, despite the car 's rates currently being advertised for less. Rates at {$200.00}. I 'm unable to get out of this lease into a better option by fault of the negative equity of the previous car applied to this current lease.
