Complaint: hello i have some inquiries that i didnt apply for i have about XXXX hard inquires from chexsystems and im a victim of identity theft and i didnt apply for a bank accounts in my name the only bank account i apply for is XXXX XXXX the others are fraud and i contacted chexsystems inc about this and they told me to call the banks and send a letter in writing and i dont have any stamps and i dont work and i still getting denied to open up a credit union account and they dont have a freeze system and the rep was rude to me and kept me on hold for a long time

Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX closed my checking account XX/XX/XXXX which I thought was only for a negative balance. I later find out they closed my account for fraud which Ive never committed. The account balance was {$38.00} which I paid on XX/XX/XXXX. I talked to multiple representatives at XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX and not one could pull up information about fraud being committed. I completely understand that my account may have been closed due to a negative balance, but Im being reported for something thats completely inaccurate. Fraud and insufficient funds are 2 total completely different things. After trying to resolve the issue I spoke with Chexsystems and XXXX XXXX trying to get the issue taken care of. I spoke with a representative at XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX and told him my issue how Im being misreported as fraud. He basically told me he knows and XXXX XXXX XXXX risk department reports EVERYBODY as fraud even if they havent committed any type of fraud and if I dispute its a waste of time because chexsytems works for the banks not the people. He later told me also if I wanted it removed I would have to wait 5 years or pay {$400.00}. I then called XXXX XXXX about the situation and they told me to file a dispute which I received the documents in my email XX/XX/XXXX. This entire time Ive been misreported and its completely unfair to me because I cant get no type of Bank accts. All of them see me as fraud when Ive never done such a thing. I paid the {$38.00} that I indeed owe and I just want things to be done fairly. Yes I owed on a negative balance, no I didnt commit fraud. I called XXXX XXXX XXXX risk department today ( XX/XX/XXXX ) to see if they updated Chexsystems and XXXX XXXX so I could pursue getting me a new account with a better bank who doesnt just reports every account closure as fraud. The lady told me even though I paid, this account will stay reported as fraud until XX/XX/XXXX. I then told her that Ive never committed fraud and its reporting inaccurately. She told me that I shouldve filed a claim after the account was closed. I wouldve indeed filed a claimed if the account was closed to fraud, but I was under the impression that my acct was only closed because I had a negative balance of {$38.00}. Nobody at XXXX XXXX XXXX can tell me how I committed fraud but theyve reported me. This is completely unfair and its causing unnecessary stress in my life because Im being reported for something that I didnt do. Chexsystems and XXXX XXXX are working with the banks so its basically 3 against 1. Ive never committed fraud and XXXX XXXX XXXX is violating my rights. I demand some type of physical or legal proof showing I committed fraud, if not I need this misreported information removed immediately. Its at the point now where its affecting my daily life because I cant get another bank acct anywhere. If theres no proof where I committed fraud, I need to be removed from Chexsystems and XXXX XXXX immediately. Like I stated earlier, having an negative account and committing fraud are 2 completely different things.

Complaint: I am the XXXX for an XXXX XXXX XXXX. We received a check from a donor that was issued by a bill pay service XXXX ( formerly XXXX ), but the check was incomplete. About 1 inch of the right side of the check did not print at all, so the serial number, the trailing three digits of the amount and the check date did not print and thus I am not able to deposit it. I can tell by the written part of the check, but the check was only for {$10.00}. I contacted XXXX at the email printed on the top of the check along with an image of the check requesting that they reissue because the currently issued check is not valid. After 6 days, they emailed me back and told me I needed to resend the physical check for them to reissue it. This feels burdensome and not consistent with regulation CC or Check 21 because I do not believe this check has all of the elements to be considered a substitute check - thus they withheld funds from this donor and the donor is unaware of that they did n't actually issue a legal check. I, in good faith, notified them of an error that impacted a check issued to my organization with visual evidence of their error and they are refusing to resolve it without sending a physical check for a very small amount. This is harming my organizations donor ( who is a individual consumer ) and potentially an unknown number of other unknown customers who may have also had incompletely printed checks.

Complaint: I applied with my husband to open a checking account and was denied because the bank, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX was unable to verify my Date of Birth through a system called " ChexSystems. '' They could not provide me with any further information and just said I would have to call Chex Systems. I attempted to call them, but it is just a recording -- you ca n't even speak to a real person. The only automated option was to request my report, which I did. I received it a couple of days ago and it contains no information. All it has is my name and address on it. This is insane. In my 35 years, I have opened bank accounts, credit cards, had mortgages, and car loans. I ca n't get any further information from ChexSystems and do n't know what to do if they do n't correct their information.

Complaint: On XX-XX-2017 I, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, tried to open a new checking account at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX MD. XXXX. I was told that I could not open an account, due to a ChexSystems report containing a file produced by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, VA XXXX in reference to a Checking account held by myself, mother XXXX XXXX, and wife XXXX XXXX rtn.XXXX acct. ending XXXX. Closed non-sufficient funds X-X-2017 amount {$3700.00} This negative balance was a result of a charge back, reversal of provisional credit, as a result of fraudulent payments to XXXX drawn from the account in my mother 's name. This credit should have never been reversed, because the account was even deemed fraudulent by XXXX and payments were not due by anyone on the account. Furthermore, this should not effect my ability to open an account at another bank, for It did not concern me, my XXXX account, nor my ability to pay back a credit that was not my business even though the credit should have been sustained in the first place.

Complaint: I had requested my consumer report from XXXX. After obtaining my consumer report I saw that there was a re-insertd bank accounts from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. The re-inserted account was on my Chapter 7 Bankruptcy from XXXX 2010 and these accounts were included on the bankruptcy. The Credit Union has re-inserted these bank accounts in which were enclosed on the chapter 7 bankruptcy. I have sent this information over to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX over a month ago and they have not removed the entries. So now I am submitting this to the CFPB. They can not re-insert accounts that were included in a bankruptcy and after seven years. Complaint: I had an account open with XXXX XXXX that was the victim of ATM fraud because something like that takes a long time to investigate and although it was decided in my favor the account was in the interim closed as a negative by mistake with XXXX XXXX and reported to ChexSystems. When I notified ChexSystems about the fraud they referred me back to see our a management as a wider of that data and not XXXX XXXX and that I believe is the loophole that they lean on to continue to report in accurate information and not to be in violation with the CFPB or the FCR it act. It is a direct violation of our rights as consumers and should be corrected and the firms fined and sanctioned. What good is the FCRA law of You can simply pass it on to a company with a PO Box and claim they are getting the information from them. That in itself is a violation since they are not getting the information back from the actual source.

Complaint: I am a victim of identity theft. While living overseas my passport was stolen and several accounts were opened in my name. I disputed this information directly with the bank and credit reporting agency and my name is still associated with these fraudulent accounts. I was told by the bank to call the bank and report the account as fraudulent and that I would receive an identity theft packet in the mail/email. Complaint: XXXX XXXX, XXXX when shopping at a local XXXX store, my personal check was denied by the check verification service they use, Certegy Check Services. XXXX can not answer why the check was denied but prints out a little tiny piece of paper telling you to contact Certegy Check Services at XXXX for assistance. This number is an automated service wanting your bank routing number, bank account number, social security and drivers license numbers. You can not reach a representative using this number. Going to Certegy 's website, I found XXXX listed for customer service. The person I talked to wanted all the same info and proceeded to tell me nothing. They give you a total runaround and can not tell you why your check was denied. You get " could be '' risk factors but they do n't have access to what risk factors are, your check did not meet the standards in their risk modeling software, but again they have absolutely no answers or reasons for denial, they just keep repeating the same canned answer over and over. They can not tell you if you will be at risk for future check purchases or which businesses use their verification service. Certegy can not verify funds due to federal laws protecting consumers bank accounts, so why are they even allowed to be in business? What service are they really providing business?
