Complaint: Equifax has been committing fraud for as long as they have been established. Numerous inaccuracies on my account. They 've done nothing to rectify my situation. I have disputed numerous times with them and they do nothing regardless of fraud. Equifax needs to remove anything negative from my account as I have flawless payment history and I should have flawless credit. Unfortunately due to their inept employees and outdated Infrastructure, nothing has been done.

Complaint: Equifax failed me and 140 million other Americans in protecting our privacy information such as Social Security Numbers. Have these idiots ever heard of encrypting sensitive personal information in their databases?? Apparently they do n't care.

Complaint: I tried to sign up for the fraud alert offered by Equifax and have had a terrible time doing it. I started the computer-based process on XX/XX/XXXX and was told after entering a small amount of information to come back to the site to complete the process the next day. Why? That is but the first oddity. Upon following that instruction on XX/XX/XXXX, I had a question, so decided to call. Thus started the fall down the rabbit hole. Busy, busy, busy, then on hold, on hold, on hold, and an hour went by, then all of a sudden the phone went to a busy signal again! I started the call process again just out of sheer cussedness and after another 45 minutes reached a person. I quickly determined that she did not know what she was talking about and could not answer my question.
Although frustrated, I played around on the computer a bit more and found the page to complete the fraud alert registration, and discovered that they want me to enter all kinds of sensitive information, i.e. Social Security number, date of birth, my middle name! Are they crazy? They already compromised my financial information by allowing it to get hacked, and now they want me to put it into cyberspace again, just in case the criminals missed something the first time! Can you help with this craziness?

Complaint: It should not cost to freeze and unfreeze credit. With the recent breach, freezing all three should be free. Even giving one free freeze/ unfreeze a year would be good.

Complaint: The major credit reporting agencies currently charge consumers for a credit freeze.
It is unconscionable that these companies use our personal information without consent, and do not properly protect the data in their care ( see the recent Equifax breach ), and then charge us to freeze our credit reports.
All credit report freezes/unfreezes should be free, especially in the light of the recent Equifax breach that put 140 million people at risk of identity theft. Credit reporting agencies should n't be able to profit off of their own negligence by charging their unwitting and unwilling consumers for a credit freeze/unfreeze.

Complaint: It seems unfair that I need to pay to freeze my credit and protect myself when I should be able to trust the big bureaus with my information ( leaked SSN in Equifax breach ). Frustrated to say the least. This seems like something that should be changed in the future.

Complaint: As an American who has used credit in the past, I was more than likely part of the Equifax credit information hack. I find it unacceptable that I have to PAY to freeze my credit when I did n't consent to my information being stored by Equifax, XXXX, or XXXX in the first place. Congress should make credit freezes and unfreezes free federally, and through a central service that applies the freeze throughout the ecosystem rather than requiring consumers to waste time contacting each individual agency. Credit reporting agencies already make money off of my information and I should not be required to pay them additional money to protect my information, especially when they are doing a POOR job in the first place. Thank you for taking time to read my complaint.

Complaint: In light of the Equifax hack, I feel I should be able to freeze or otherwise restrict access to my credit report at all reporting companies completely for free, and at my own discretion, now and forevermore. Paying even a nominal fee for this service is unconscionable in light of the gross misuse of my data.
