Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 I purchased an item I saw on the XXXX XXXX show on the XXXX Network, she airs daily in XXXX at XXXX XXXX and has deals on items for XXXX viewers. The product arrived defective we spent {$100.00} for a beauty cream. We put it on our XXXX account using the Discover Credit Card attached to the account. The merchant never returned phone calls or emails or texts and a text we got was written in computer symbols and jargon. XXXX XXXX was extremely uncooperative and finally gave me the address they had for the merchant so I could return the item. I questioned why the item came from XXXX XXXX XXXX and why the address they were giving me in Florida was to an individual with a strange sounding foreign name that could not even be pronounced. XXXX XXXX claimed that this is all they have for this company. And XXXX XXXX will not refund us until the merchant receives the package. I sent the package by XXXX and have a tracking number ; for over XXXX days the package is in transit going from one postal station to another. Evidently this individual can not be tracked and is running a scam and may have left the country. Discover Card will not issue a refund for this item to us. We have filed fraud dispute with them and are giving us the run around and scripted speeches from them. We sent the item by XXXX and have provided the tracking number to Discover we have done all that we can do on our end and therefore it is up to Discover to issue us a credit for this fraudulent purchase And they re not doing it.

Trouble with how payments are being handled
Complaint: I decided to refinance my student loans with Discover to save on some interest as I was getting a lower rate with another service provider.
My loan was paid off at Discover on XX/XX/2018 and there was an excess payment of more than {$3000.00} on the account.
One week later, on XX/XX/2018, I contacted Discover to find out about the status of my refund due to the overpayment.
I talked to the customer service representative and her supervisor and I was told Discover has a right to hold onto the payment for upto 45 days. They are really busy with processing thousands of student loans so they can not verify the payments have been applied to my account accurately. In about 45 days, they will mail out a check which will take another 7-10 business days for me to get my money back. They have a right to hold onto my money ( they gave me an exact amount {$3300.00} ) as they look to verify all closing details. If they have the exact amount of refund owed, that means the payment have been posted already. I never had a late payment on my account and no payments have been missed ever on the student loan. But they still want to ensure that ' no extra unknown charge ' pops up on my account in this timeframe I think it is a really unfair practice that it takes them upto 45 days to post my payments accurately and they have a right to hold onto my money for that long. I am accruing interest on the refinanced loan while Discover decides to hold onto my money for close to two months and not doing their job in a timely manner.

Complaint: Please I would like to re-submit a new complaint against Discover Credit Card.Please read the previous complaint # XXXX Their response didn't address my complaint at all about : " The phone call I made contacted Discover Credit card Services on XX/XX/2018 I spoke with a Supervisor name XXXX about my dispute with case # XXXX She asked me to get documentations so Discover can look this documents and investigate the dispute I told her I will submitt Documentation in regards along with the pictures of the Damaged Merchant Caused in my vehicle while Providing the Towing Service, She said to me if the Merchant caused the damaged Discover may deduct the services the merchant charged you off the estimate you present it, So thats what I did I submitted on line the letter, bodyshop estimate and pictures of damaged in my vehicle ''.
* The phone call I made on XX/XX/2018 it was to add additional information in regards the ongoing dispute as it was my undertanding, and the supervisor XXXX said was ok she never said to me why I didn't submItted originally when I initiated the dispute, or your dispute its closed as this representative XXXX XXXX stated.

Complaint: Case # XXXX is the reference number for this. They want to resolve this by having me make a payment. This debt is around 2800.00. I can't afford that and could not go high for a settlement because I have only SSD which can not be garnished. It is my only income. They threatened to keep the judgment on me for 20 years. They are trying to ruin my life. And I have no money to give. I included what I own in last case and it's 300 or less. This is harassment and scare tactics. I am going through the cfpb to keep everything on a record to protect myself. Please stop checking my credit and other finances which are none. I even received a letter that I wasn't allowed to have a block on my credit while I was going through ID theft. You can't do that. I want to be left alone

Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX maybe linked to XXXX XXXX XXXX, however, this supposed company is possibly an extortion scheme posing as a collection agency claiming to be working with Discover Inc. credit card company. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( or XXXX XXXX XXXX ) has attempted to steal or have stolen large sums of money from my bank account. Sensitive user information has been compromised. According to their online reviews, apparently there's been countless victims prone to this attack from XXXX XXXX XXXX. I have not received any legal documentations from either Discover Incorporate Credit Card Company nor XXXX XXXX XXXX. The incident occurred XX/XX/2018 ; amount in question is {$1500.00}. The collection agency request that I provide a personal budget information in order to have bank account unfrozen ( ransomware attack ).

Complaint: I have a variable rate loan with Discover, no where on their website in the loan information or monthly statements does it say my loan has a variable rate. I had to contact customer service to find out for sure. I mentioned this concern to the representative, they assured me they were compliant and not withholding any information as this was provided to me in my Final Disclosure Agreement WHEN THE LOAN CLOSED IN 2012 ( 5+ years ago, so I guess I should just remember it??? ). They also said this document should be available to view on their website, but conveniently enough, only my fixed rate disclosure is there and they need to mail me the variable rate one. The rep did say they would report the issue, but I've worked in XXXX and XXXX XXXX roles and know that does not always happen. So I've taken the initiative and am reaching out to you. I have a XXXX XXXX, I'm a XXXX/XXXX XXXX and have been in the XXXX XXXX XXXX for 5 years now and work with far more complex loans than this on a daily basis. If I'm having troubles finding this information, I can only imagine the issues others are having!

Complaint: I have presented Discover Bank with disclosure of concerns pertaining the opening of an account in my name as a result of identity theft. Discover Bank has mailed a letter to me dated XX/XX/XXXX for fraudulent account ending in XXXX. In this letter Discover Banks request is for notice of report to credit bureaus of the account resulting of identity theft and Discover 's request if for the block that I have requested on the fraudulent account to be lifted. I am not understanding this request or the poor practice in responding to the several calls that I have made reporting identity theft and requisition appropriate action. Further, I have provided with disclosures for identity theft and request for mitigation of losses to several parties representing Discover, the last party that I spoke to on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX, continue to request for a verbal password that he has stated is on the account for an account that is result of identity and stated that he would not act accordingly to address the matter with propriety in response to the consequences of identity theft.

Complaint: I applied for a private loan to cover tuition and educational expenses for the XX/XX/2019 spring semester. Discover denied me. I received a let ter stating I was denied because an item in collections appears on my report. After receiving the denial, I contacted Discover several times to review my denial. The item on my credit report is a medical bill. When I stated this, I was instructed to file an appeal. I completed the appeal and submitted a letter stating the item in collections is a medical bill and can not be included in the credit approval process. I have called several times to discuss this with the appropriate department but customer refuses to put me in contact with them. The department that oversees the credit decisions have pulled my credit report several times but has never spoken to me. The last phone call I made was yesterday, XX/XX/XXXX, and I spoke with a supervisor, XXXX. He also refused to have that department contact me and refused to do anything to investigate the situation. I told customer service and the supervisor that I feel discriminated against.

Complaint: XXXX has been non-compliant with removing the unverified account DISCOVER BANK XXXX which has been deleted by XXXX and XXXX. XXXX and XXXX have both completed their research and determined that DISCOVER BANK was not established by myself but XXXX keeps verifying this accounts. Also, when I called the company they responded that XXXX did not send them all of the verifying evidence to confirm each account is unverified.
