Complaint: For a medical service my wife made an advance payment/booking on XXXX XXXX XX/XX/2014 using my credit card ( since they offered XXXX time yearly discount during that period ). The payment was done via phone. The transaction was not a signed transaction.
My wife was supposed to receive the service by XXXX but she re-scheduled the appointment to XXXX due to her medical condition. She called that clinic by XXXX and the number did not go through. So she waited for a week more and did not get any response either. When we personally went to the place to our surprise the place was locked and no attendees to address our concern.
This is a huge amount for us and we did not except the company will not render the service they have paid for.
Later when we researched on internet and found that the servicing company has filed bankruptcy.
We raised a dispute with the bank and a temporary credit was provided for the amount. Now after investigation the bank had denied the dispute mentioning no sufficient documentation.
Kindly let me know what can be done at this stage?

Complaint: Discover claims my payments for their XXXX accounts with them were each 1 day late last month. They raised the amount of my payment on each, charged a late fee on each, and increased my interest rates on each. I filed a complaint with the BBB of the area, and requested contact be made via mail, but Discover started to bombard my home with phone calls. The XXXX time they called, I was out getting groceries and they spoke to my husband, which is against the law. His name is not on my accounts. I mailed my payments in plenty of time for them to get to them, and paid more than the minimum payment due on each! It so happens there was 1 day the mail did not run in XXXX, due to the winter storm, and if in fact the payments did not make it in time, that is most likely why. I have no control over the weather, or when the post office might close, but truthfully, I believe the payments got there, and they set them aside so they could claim late payments. It would n't be the XXXX time they have done this to me. I mailed their payments 6 days before the due date. They usually receive them within 4 days of the time I mail them, so something fishy is going on here. They are ringing my phone off the hook, and refuse to make it right, even after the BBB complaint. They have already called XXXX times today alone, and I know they will call more. I have documentation.

Complaint: First, I am having a temporary financial setback and I have tried to work with Discover Cards to mitigate the situation but it only seems to be getting worse. No matter what you say to them, they ignore you and try to set up a payment. As many times as I say, I ca n't commit to a pre-arranged payment, they do not listen and repeat the same question of setting up a payment. These people must be on some type of commission because they are relentless and they do not listen or respect the consumer. I do not like to make arrangements that I am not sure that I can fulfill. I feel pressure and I am usually depressed when I get off the phone with them after phone calls that have lasted over an hour.
Second, they are leaving messages on my answering machine say there is some type of savings opportunity I should be aware of. Everybody within earshot knows that it is a call that I am behind in my bill and that is something that I do not want to share with the rest of the world.
Last, on the last phone call, when I spoke to their representative on XXXX XXXX, I was told I was past due 60 days, which confused me. I did not know I was so behind in the account. The representative said that I started being delinquent one day after the last payment on XXXX XXXX, and I had made a partial payment after that. I found this confusing. Is this true or a marketing technique to put fear into the cardholder 's mind that they are worse off than they think? Is that true and legal? Thank you. I need clarification of the delinquency issue/

Complaint: Because we had dual job losses a few years back, Discover placed us on a few programs to assist us with our payments. We made every payment owed. Our last statement showed that they are now charging us 24.99 % interest. Discover now says that our programs are over and thet we have to wait FIVE years before they will consider lowering the interest rate. It was never explained to us that they would charge such a high rate. We can not afford this. We can not make a dent in the principal because of the extremely high rate. We contacted Discover to ask for help, and were told " too bad. '' I fail to understand why we are being punished when we complied with their programs, have faithfully made our payments to them, and are not behind at all.
