Can't decrease my monthly payments
Complaint: When I began the transfer process to study at XXXX XXXX in XXXX, XXXX, I researched many private student loan companies and asked each XXXX many different questions. When I contacted Discover Student Loans back in fall XX/XX/XXXX for my application they told me that I would be able to use an income-based repayment plan. I studied XXXX and have an excellent memory and also am very diligent when I sign up for things to know what I 'm getting myself into. But this time I made a huge mistake trusting some customer service rep ( male ) and he either did n't know what he was talking about or lied to me deliberately. Now I can not afford my loans. I had to leave my job at University XXXX in XXXX because the job relocated from XXXX to XXXX, XXXX and I was not able to take care of my health needs. I am unemployed and can easily find a job but not XXXX that I can afford my XXXX Discover loan and to assist my husband with paying his mortgage. I actually got married right before I graduated in XX/XX/XXXX and am trying to get my feet on solid ground and get a XXXX degree at XXXX XXXX ( I will be applying for scholarships and not depending on private loans ever again! ) but it is close to impossible to manage this crazy student loan. They did n't even give me a grace period!

Debt is not mine
Complaint: This is dealing with an Estate Debt. A major credit card company hired a Collections Agency to collect a CC debt after my mother death. I am the legal administrator for the estate.
Upon contacting both the CC and the debt collector, I was told by the CC the debt collector is the only XXXX that can now neg. the debt with me. Upon contacting the debt collector I was informed by the collections company that if I wanted to settle below a certain amount, they would need to verify the amount in the estate account and where asking me to provide a bank account statement.
I feel they have no right to request such a document. Is this legal?

Can't get flexible payment options
Complaint: I went to the University XXXX XXXX and have student loans through Discover. I have recently contacted them to get a lower monthly payment since they want more money than I pay in rent. The told me I could split my payment which is not helpful. Then the executive at Discover told me to contact a lady that specializes in repayment and I have yet to get a phone call back, not to mention the fact that I get XXXX phone calls a day harassing me for money.

Complaint: Discover Credit Card, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, NC XXXX, raised the minimum amount due without notification. When I called to see why, they offered me the opportunity to discontinue using their card by closing the account, thereby, the amount I was paying would be owed until the card was paid off. The next bill reflected the new rate amount. When I called, I found that they had scammed me by stating the new amount had to be paid and the credit card had been closed. I sent them a letter of dispute. Meanwhile, the next bill came yesterday and it reflects the new rate with " include past due amount '', with a warning of a {$35.00} late fee and the APR will increase.
