Complaint: After agreeing to XXXX automatic payment withdrawal from my checking account, and after paying off my credit card balance with Discover Card I received an email stating that my credit line was being reduced and that my account would be closed within 30 days of receiving the email letter. My Discover Card account was opened on XXXX XXXX, XXXX and was in good standing with the exception of XXXX 30 - 59 day late payment in XXXX XXXX. After viewing my XXXX and XXXX credit reports, I saw that Discover Card had purposely deleted XXXX years of positive credit reporting for the years XXXX, XXXX thru XXXX XXXX on XXXX credit bureau report and the years XXXX, XXXX thru XXXX XXXX on the other thereby making my credit history look much worse that it actually is, which seems to be a common practice with credit card issuers at the present time. Discover will also be reporting the reduction of my credit line shortly and will follow-up by closing the account in another 30 days thereby manipulating my FICO to be even lower. My credit card account with Discover was past due XXXX time in seven years, and I do n't see how they could possibly perceive that as a bad credit risk to them and them alone. My FICO score has been manipulated in the same way for the same time periods for multiple credit card issuers, and I will be submitted individual CFPB complaints on each and every one of them.

Complaint: My Son and I applied for a college student loan with Discover Student Loans because they have displayed/promote on their website viable rates as low 2.99 %. I have very good credit of XXXX and the lowest they gave was 6.5 %. I 'm not new to student loans because I have XXXX older Sons in college with private student loans also and I know what to expect. I think it 's a scam and dishonest to promote such a low rate when it 's really not available ( 'bait and switch ' ). I went with XXXX XXXX XXXX loans because I received a substantially better rate, Substantially!

Complaint: To Whom It May Concern, I 'm writing to inform appropriate authorities about Discover Card fraud tactics. During a month long trip to XXXX. Many of my financial accounts had been compromised. I 've been able to successfully refute all fraudulent activity with other financial institutions - with the exception of Discover Card. Their process is very unorganized, aggressive and unjust. Every time I call into their XXXX - get a different " customer expert ' from a different city that interprets the notes on my account inaccurately. On XXXX occasions I 've called in concerning status of my dispute and XXXX It was stated to me " sorry that XXXX has done this to you '' 1. XXXX is my wife and was with me in XXXX. Never have I even gave them the name of XXXX in my original complaint. There is no way she could have done any of this. This is false judgment/deformation of character and slander. 2. I 've tried on multiple occasion correcting the " random '' customer service agents that answer the phone for Discover but have reached my patience 's end. 3. Discover should provide consistent and accurate information when customers call in. Period.!! If that means I need to speak with the same agent, someone familiar with my case every time, use a special number, then Discover needs to assign such a person to my case. 4. Due to the fact that Discover has got too many reps hands into this case - there have been many inconsistent account charges being credited/debited from my account. 5. I 've not had any of these issues with other financial institutions since my return, only Discover. The company that uses " {$0.00} Fraud Liability '' as XXXX of its lures for customers. With the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and other regulatory agencies now involved my hope is this can be resolved without any further legal escalation. Complaint: My complaint stems from concerns that I have after reading about the recent settlement between CFPB and Discover. While enrolled in my last semester at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX School, I took out a XXXX Loan from Discover Student Loans to cover the costs of studying for the XXXX exam. I have received, online, the interest paid amount for tax purposes for the years of XXXX, XXXX and XXXX. Each tax year listed that my amount of interest paid was {$0.00} ; I did not claim any amount of interest to Discover on my taxes during these years ; to be honest, I believed that the amount were probably correct and that somehow, perhaps a XXXX Loan was n't a student loan. However, I have since learned that is untrue. As you know, the recent settlement includes Discover 's failure to properly report the amount of interest paid on their loans for tax years. Unfortunately for consumers like myself, the settlement only covers up to year XXXX. In XXXX, my amount of {$0.00} was correct, but the company informed me today that the interest paid the other years XXXX XXXX & XXXX ) was incorrectly listed at {$0.00} on my Tax Information Page. My complaint is that I was given false tax information that cause me to be unable to accurately claim interest payments made on my taxes for tax years XXXX and XXXX. Unfortunately for consumer 's such as myself, Discover 's issue with tax information extended beyond the years addressed in the recent settlement agreement XXXX XXXX ) and there is no resolution for consumers affected in XXXX and XXXX, such as myself. Complaint: Discover advertised a free {$100.00} XXXX gift card, if you apply for Discover 's " It '' card and make {$500.00} in purchases in the first 3 months. I fulfilled these conditions as of XX/XX/XXXX, but never received the promised {$100.00} XXXX gift card. I made follow-up inquiries to Discover officials XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX & XXXX XXXX, which were ignored. On XXXX XXXX, I called XXXX XXXX office. They referred me to XXXX XXXX in the Executive Office. I had to follow up XXXX with XXXX to get a response. On XXXX XXXX, XXXX said I had not applied for the {$100.00} XXXX gift card, but offered me a {$50.00} credit on my credit card account " as a courtesy ''. On XXXX XXXX, I wrote to XXXX & documented that I had applied for the " It '' card & the XXXX gift card. Discover did not respond for a month. I had to follow up XXXX times by phone & email on XXXX XXXX & XXXX. On XXXX XXXX, XXXX offered me a XXXX {$50.00} credit on my credit card account. Although Discover finally fulfilled its {$100.00} offer in my case, I had to waste many hours, getting them to honor their promise. The facts that ( a ) I had to make multiple follow-ups and ( b ) they issued statement credits instead of sending the promised {$100.00} XXXX gift card suggest to me that this was not a bona fide offer. XXXX web site contains numerous complaints from others who never received the gift card. I believe this deceptive offer violates the " Corrective Actions '' in FDIC 's & CFPB 's Consent Order with Discover on XX/XX/XXXX.

I recently started a refinance and found that I had a lien on my title from Discover. I contacted Discovered and settled for less than was owed and I paid off the account. They were supposed to issue a release for the lien on my title and they have not. They keep telling me that the attorney needs to sign off as well as Discover.
