Complaint: On XXXX XXXX, 2015 at XXXX, I sent a request to Discover Bank to transfer {$500.00} from my XXXX XXXX XXXX account to my Discover Bank account. The purpose of the transfer was to cover a checks that I had made, they sent an acknowledgement of XXXX. Discover Bank sent me an acknowledgement see exhibit XXXX.
On XXXX XXXX, I received a notice from Discover that the transfer was completed on XXXX XXXX, In the notice they made no mention that the funds would not be available. See exhibit XXXX.
On XXXX XXXX, they sent me a notice that they returned my check for XXXX due toinsufficient funds.
I called them and they state they reserve the right to wait up to 5 business days for the funds to clear. It took XXXX calls and over XXXX hours of time discussing the concerns of insufficient notice.
My concerns are this.
1. In the XXXX XXXX email, they stated nothing with regard to their funds availability policy. Therefore, from that email, how would i know that they would they would not be making the funds available from the {$500.00} deposit requested on XXXX XXXX?
2. On anACH transfer why would any financial institution take 5 days to clear a transaction?

Complaint: Opened a Discover Online Savings Account to get a {$50.00} Bonus by opening it by XXXX/XXXX/15 and depositing {$5000.00} by XXXX/XXXX/15 and using the offer code XXXX. They said bonus would be credited by XXXX/XXXX/15. I did n't receive the bonus on XXXX/XXXX/2015 and every follow up to their customer service has them telling me it will be an additional 4-6 weeks ( the last time they said 6-8 weeks ) after they verify that I 'm eligible and met the requirements even though I 've sent them the proof that I 've met the requirements. Now they say it wo n't be resolved until XXXX XXXX, 2015 and that would make it close to four months since opening the account, not the one month they stated I 'd have the bonus. Feel I 'm not getting any where with them and continued correspondence would be futile.

Complaint: I w alerted that I was a victim of identity theft when my credit card limitwas decreased from {$30000.00} to {$2500.00}. The delinquent account is withDiscover. It has been three weeks and I have not gotten cooperationwith them to remove this account from my credit report. I still, after threeweeks have not received an affidavit to complete, they are still using thefraudulent information when I call to confirm my identity to check for pro-gress on the investigation and will not release any information to me. Iwas told by one person that the affidavit was mailed to the address thatwas used to open the account, which is in another state, and not to me. II feel that I am getting no respect, no cooperation, and no help with thismatter, when they are at fault for opening the account with inaccurateinformation. They told me that there is no documentation of when I have callecalled to make inquiries. DISCOVER is not taking any responsibility/accountability forthis. I feel as though I am being treated as the guilty party when I aminnocent and trying to clear my credit report, which has been stellar untilthis incident.

Complaint: For the past several months, I have contacted Discover card via online chat, disputing the fact that my statement does not provide me with complete or full disclosure as to how my payments, including additional payments, are being applied towards my account. It also does not provide ACTUAL current balances still owed, as well as when my promotional interest free period expires. I have attempted to get Discover to provide this information on my statement on XXXX several occasions. I am told, this is general industry practice, and they are well within the law. I do not feel that i have TOTAL disclosure, as they do not provide me with the ACTUAL amount that is being applied toward my balances. They give me the formula that they use to generate their interest charge, and i have to figure it out myself. I do not know how much of my additional pmt being made is actually being allocated towards the higher interest balance, they only tell me that it is going down. I guess i am just supposed to believe this? I have asked that my statement provide the actual balances still owed, as well as the breakdown of actual payments made, and where they are applied, to which balance, as well as when promotional period expires. I do not feel I have total disclosure of my billing, since i can not see exactly where my payment is being allocated, other than they tell me that my balance is going down. I should not have to just take their word, it should be provided to me, in my statement, on a monthly basis, so i can see EXACTLY how much i still owe in each balance, both the higher balance, as well as the interest free balance. If this truly is standard industry practice, I believe it is an unfair billing practice, meant to be vague and deceitful.

Complaint: Discover Bank pulled a bait and switch, offering {$50.00} to open a savings account, but then failing to give me the money. I satisfied all of the requirements, but they still wo n't give me the money. I have contacted them XXXX times and they have promised me the money by a certain date twice, but failed to make good. The last time I contacted them they said it would take them XXXX weeks to research the problem. I ca n't see as how it could take them that long, given that anybody can see that I followed the rules and met the requirements. I also do n't think it 's right to tie up my money that long, when I have already met the requirements.

Complaint: I was called by a debt collector, the name of which I do not recall, but they made it very clear they were calling " on behalf of Discover Card. '' The call began cordial, and after I informed the woman that I did not have the money to pay at this time and asked to be contacted again in XXXX, she asked for the best way to contact me. I gave her my personal email address and permission to contact me. She then asked me to hold for another person to come on the line to verify the information I had provided.
The other person did not verify anything, rather he persisted in attempting to extort money out of me with questions such as " how are you paying for things if you do n't have any money? '' " How are you paying for housing, a car, your cell phone? '' I explained that I was living in a relative 's condo, driving a relatives car, and using a free phone. He then even went so far as to say, after I had explained again I had no extra money, " why are you not acting in good faith? '' They are hardly financial advisors, so I do n't think they are qualified, especially based on their general tactics, to offer me any financial advice, so the questions were nothing more than an attempt to bully and intimidate. Furthermore, accusing me of not acting in good faith, in nothing short of a condescending tone, is most certainly a bullying tactic. Of course I wish I could pay off all of my debts and move on with my life, but I ca n't. The last thing I need in my life is some person being a XXXX and making me feel about as big as a Pomeranian on a foot stool. That 's not going to inspire me to give them anything, and it also borders on illegal behavior, irresponsible and inappropriate at the least.
I would have let this go, were it not for one final thing. They informed me they would be reporting back to Discover what I said and ended the call, or so they thought. The line, however, was still going. As I listened I heard them talking about me. They have access to my personal information, and I could hear them joking about me. The manager, or whoever he was, who got on the phone second, had the manners of a pitbull, but I would expect him to have some professionalism and not joke about me after the call was supposed to have ended. Now, I 'm left with the thought that if they 're talking about me after the call, how do I know these individuals with access to my personal information are n't leaving the office and continuing the conversation? I attempted to email Discover directly, but there was no direct contact. Perhaps Discover will be appalled that the company they hired is acting in such an unprofessional way, or perhaps this is what they teach them. I can honestly only think it 's what they teach them, or they have terrible quality control. As I said earlier, I would love to be able to repay my debts, but being treated like this is going to move Discover to the back of the line, and also encourage me to tell anyone who will listen what their standard of professionalism apparently is.

Complaint: XXXX times now, I have requested that Discover Card not contact my former home number or my former employer number when trying to reach me regarding my account. I have been told that my account has reflected my " no call '' request but Discover Card is still trying to reach me at these numbers. This has become a harassment issue and violates my rights per the Federal Trade Commission. They are contacting these numbers multiple times per day even though it is clearly stated on my account that I issued a " no call '' request. I have spoken with several customer service members at Discover Card regarding this, all of whom have told me that they can see my approved " no call '' request noted on my account and that they should not be calling. Yet, they still are calling several times every single day.

Complaint: I discovered after closing my business that an employee had applied for a Discover Card in my name. After multiple attempts with certified letters requesting proof of my signature and debt validation I never received proof. Finally, after XXXX years the derogatory information falls off my credit report. On year XXXX Discover filed a 1099, as you know this is a fraudulent filing, but the IRS does not know it is, and I have the IRS coming after me for thousands I do not owe.
I have a statement showing the charge off in XXXX. I need Discover to cancel the 1099 asap.

Complaint: We booked an accommodation for XXXX nights in XXXX through XXXX, based on the rate clearly indicated on their web site, namely {$99.00} per night. The reservation I.D . number is XXXX. There was a confusing email exchange with the host, XXXX, concerning the security deposit, which we understood to be an addition to the daily rate. So far no problem. But when the Discover Card statement arrived, to our shock and dismay, the rate came out to double the clearly advertised amount.
We called the XXXX help desk, and had a texted chat with " XXXX. '' He was friendly, but inside his narrative was a lot of what XXXX XXXX would call argle bargle. Examples, from the printout of the exchange : " When you made your reservation and entered in your dates it should have given you a clear nightly breakdown '' [ it did not ]. " Your host had custom pricing on the days that you booked. '' [ what can that possibly mean, other than false advertising? ] " The nightly rate changes upon entering dates as different dates can have different rates similar to hotels. '' [ If so, they should be clearly shown at the outset, especially if they constitute double the advertised rate. ] The bottom line is that this is deceptive, false advertising, plus what we midwesterners call bait and switch. We had thought that the amount on the credit card statement, namely {$1000.00}, involved cleaning fees and deposits, but it was instead a pure ripoff. The host might indeed set the rates, but the web site should not clearly draw in customers with a phony, never-relevant daily price. The host 's command of XXXX is less than perfect, so I declined " XXXX 's '' suggestion that I deal directly with him. The host did not construct the web site, XXXX did. Thus it is their responsibility/culpability that is at issue here.

Complaint: My wife and I were looking to refinance our home. We contacted a gentleman named XXXX XXXX whom we were under the impression he worked with discover home loans. In the first conversation with XXXX we had our credit ran and it all seemed to be going well, we also paid a {$400.00} appraisal fee. Towards the end of the conversation XXXX mentioned that discover was intact merging with XXXX. I was alittle upset because we originally wanted to go through Discover bit figured it would be okay since it was a supposed merger. XXXX informed us that there would be a block out period for about a week for the merger to take place. About 3 weeks after that I received a package in the mail which contained a copy of my credit report and my new login information. I was confused. I checked my credit and found that XXXX ran my credit in addition to Discover. I called XXXX from originally discover and he claimed that the pull was a soft hit when in fact it was a hard pull. I could n't understand why a company that had supposedly merged would pull my credit XXXX. I contacted a representative from discover whom infact told me that they DID NOT MERGE WITH XXXX, but that XXXX bought out discover home loans that were over {$100000.00}. Now I did n't even have a mortgage loan with discover and I originally wanted to work with discover but at no point in our first conversation did XXXX XXXX mention that discover no longer offered loans over a certain amount and he did n't mention the fact that XXXX bought EXISTING DISCOVER LOANS. The representative I spoke with at discover told me that what she thinks XXXX XXXX did was run my credit and took me with him to XXXX. I am very upset because I was n't told the correct information. I was lead to believe that it was a company merger when infact it was n't. I understand that XXXX bought existing discover mortgages, but I was n't a discover mortgage holder. I was mislead. Armed with all this new found information I contacted XXXX and my number was automatically directed to XXXX XXXX. So I called from a different phone number and spoke to a representative and asked for XXXX XXXX supervisor. I was told that I would return a follow up call from XXXX of the supervisors and I have n't heard anything from anyone since then. Now I did a refinance with a company that I DID NOT WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH because I was mislead and I did not want another hit on my credit and almost 2 months later I still have n't closed. I 'm beyond XXXX for the fact that I was told incorrect just down right wrong information..I was taken advantage of and I 'm very upset.
