Complaint: well i did email discover to make a payment deal they never replied to me..i had a death in the family ( stepmom ) and my dad is ill now and XXXX so he ca n't help with his account ... what happen it i am staying in nc and found a job just so i can clear up some cc 's well i had money to pay my discover bill ( it 's a secured card ) and i went to pay some of it before time ... it is due on the XXXX and the only way to pay is checking or savings ..i explained to them a while ago i had to close them to give money to help my XXXX year old dad so now that i have the money they are telling my the only option is checking or savings ... i did remind them in the past i could n't because my checking account went bad and now XXXX in involved and stopping me from getting a account so i can give the info to discover..they keep saying sorry this is the only way..i used to think highly of discover ... even the smaller cc company 's i have have options to pay the bill ... i am stuck here so i wrote them and said wow i am trying to pay my bill and you have no options..i am toast now and when the XXXX goes by i am even going to have to pay more..so i guess i can just give up and file with yous ... i have no choice it 's only me and my dad and he ai n't going to help i had to clear out all my accounts to help him..discover do n't want to hear this and wo n't accept my money ... i give up ... i do n't know what to do so ... i wrote yous ... owell i will just let all my credit i fought for 2 years from today and from the start ..i never even had or cared about credit so i was iffy in the start and now owell i guess i will just block everything and be in dept for the rest of my life and just use cash ... i want to pay them off and they have my deposit and wo n't budge to help in any way just get me deeper..so i guess i will just keep ignoring it and pay off the others..if i would of known this was only 1 option from a well known cc i would of said no ty ..now that i know ... discover is the worst cc in the world..the smaller cc have better options..what a joke..owell i tried ... see ya ... i give up on all of it it ; s all way to much ...

Complaint: I received another threading phone call this morning from Discover Bank aka Discover credit, Discover credit card, discover loan services, discover home loans! In XX/XX/XXXX I received confirmation on my claim for sXXXX XXXX XXXX. I sent a copy to Discover Credit, as card holders were Illegally ( XX/XX/XXXX NY federal court ) required to carry Payment protection plan/Death and XXXX insurance. I was told that I canceled my police in XX/XX/XXXX/XX/XX/XXXX! At that time I owe less then {$2000.00} on each of my two discover Credit Cards. I stop using both cards. BUT in violation to that NY Federal Court Order started charging my cards for then transferring money to their fake accounts and charging me. They kept locking me out of their web sit were I paid them requiring me to reset my password every other month on both accounts on two of their web sites ( they did not allow more then one account per site )!
Discover keeps changing their names after Federal courts rule against them ( PA Federal Court XX/XX/XXXX falsifying documents ). They are now using the name Discover Bank and have tied peoples charge cards thru their company Discover Home Loans to the card holders home!

Complaint: This is a company which I was reported to the Bureau two months ago and once again who uses all the power to mess up my personal record. on XX/XX/XXXX this year I filed a complaint against Discover credit card and Discover company did not respond to my complaint and discover credit card ignores me, Discover file another wrong report to the credit bureau because of all these I believe for the last two years I have cheated by discover credit card and probably the purchase and the billing were wrong so therefore, I ' m asking for the bureau to have a broad investigation to Discover credit card for abuse of trust. One more time if any of the info was wrong I would like to ask the bureau to step in and solve this issue. I think Discover credit card abuses the power and consequently discover board destroyed my character and put me into a situation where I can even get a job.

Complaint: I recently applied to Discover for a credit card. It has into APR of 0 % and after that the APR can vary from 11.99 to 23.99 As advertised, it reads : * Intro purchase APR is 0 % for 14 months from date of account opening ; then the standard purchase APR applies. Intro Balance Transfer APR is 0 % for 14 months from date of first transfer, for transfers under this offer that post to your account by XXXX XXXX , 2017 ; then the standard purchase APR applies. Standard purchase APR : 11.99 % variable to 23.99 % variable, based on your creditworthiness.
I have FICO score of XXXX . I received a 23.99 APR! This is VERY misleading when it specifically says " based on your creditworthiness ''. How is it I received the HIGHEST APR with an excellent FICO score. I called the company and they said after a year they could look at possibly lowering it. I talked to the Manager and he said he could close the account. I told him if I close it, it affects my credit score and he said " I do n't know anything about that '' ... and he is a manager?!?!?! I feel this company is very misleading! It is a way of tricking you into thinking you will get a good APR, and when you get it, you do n't ... in hopes that you are not able to pay off your balance and the APR will skyrocket to 23.99!

Complaint: I recently became aware that Discover was charging me for a Payment Protection Program I never enrolled in. After inquiring with them, I was informed they had been charging me since 2010 for over {$1500.00}. Since I never enrolled in the program I requested a full refund but was only given a 6 month refund. After doing some research I found many customers were given full refunds but after asking multiple parties and supervisors to meet these demands I was still denied. They told me someone may call me back in 3 days or I could write a letter to their general mailbox. Please help!

Complaint: I have a Discover credit card account, and on my statement I noticed a purchase on XX/XX/2017 from a clothing company in Arkansas. I did not recognize the charge. I immediately notified Discover and they began an investigation. On XX/XX/2017, I received communication from Discover stating that " The dispute was previously resolved in your favor, but after reviewing this new documentation ( from the merchant ) we 've determined that the transaction is valid ''. I have also reviewed this " new " information provided to discover from the merchant. On one page the merchant says it was a telephone/mail order. Then a hand written note states the order was made by e-mail. The merchant complains the charge back was invalid and now Discover has reversed its decision. A matter of note, much of the documentation from the merchant is unreadable due to small type and poor copy quality. Also, on one page the merchant is named as " XXXX XXXX '' and on another page as " XXXX XXXX XXXX ''. The purchase in question is listed as clothing. I absolutely did not order clothing from this company. I do n't see anything new here, just contradictory information and/or statements. Discover also states, '' We are required to report your account to the Consumer Reporting Agencies as a disputed account ... '' This appears to me as a muted attempt to intimidate the customer into removing the complaint.

Complaint: I am A XXXX Veteran being treated for XXXX XXXX by the VA hospital in XXXX. I do some time remembering thing, but it does come back. I had two Discover credit cards XXXX and XXXX, which I stop using in XX/XX/XXXX due to them not Honoring the payment protection plan that they made me carry that was ruled illegal by a federal court in XX/XX/XXXX and again in XX/XX/XXXX. Discover sent in negative credit reports to the credit reporting people wall rising my credit limit to {$30000.00} each card. And then charging me for transferring money to some account in cyber space. They claim it was hackers or computer problems. But this was what the courts in XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX ordered them to stop doing! It was proven that employees were doing this! It seems that they believe that due to the Federal court being in New York the federal orders do not apply to people in Michigan!!! I have been hassled by them for over 6 years, them charging my cards that I stop using for money transferred to cyber accounts in XXXX XXXX. Saying that they would take me to court and put me into jail, or take my home if I did not pay. In addition it seems that Discover has giving my SS number to people who have NO legal right to have it!

Can't use card to make purchases
Complaint: This week, the week ending XXXX/XXXX/17, The Discover credit card company closed down my account for no reason, right before I was going to use the card to make a payment for a debt that I owe, and stated that I needed to send a copy of my drivers license, social security card and proof of address for no reason at all. I had been paying on time always and never had an issue before. I currently owe less than {$100.00}, which is very little, on my card since I generally keep my balance at a zero balance most of the time.
