I wrote a letter to Discover Corporate Headquarters seeking to speak with people at Discovers Corporate Office, since I have not heard from anyone in a month regarding these complaints and the dispute with Discover Card against XXXX XXXX.
Discover Card Corporate Headquarters XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, Utah XXXX I have filed a number of complaints with Discover and requested contact in regards to these complaints and my dispute with XXXX XXXX and I have never heard back from anyone at Discover or XXXX XXXX. This to me is outrageous. It is apparent that Discover values protecting merchants over consumers.
Complaint Numbers : XXXX / XXXX Against Customer Service XXXX / XXXX Against Dispute/Billing Department XXXX / XXXX Against Undisclosed Arbitrator I spoke to a XXXX, XXXX and XXXX on the day these complaints were filed. There have been many more. No one has ever contacted me regarding these complaints.
I have been lied to, treated rudely, laughed at, berated as well as other poor displays of customer service over the course of this dispute.
My dispute has never been about the purchase of the Spiral Staircase. I have repeatedly stated that my dispute is not in regards to purchasing, receiving and signing for the Staircase.
My dispute is about the quality and services that were not provided for this 12 foot nearly ton Spiral Staircase structure.
In each step of this dispute, and Discover finding in the merchants favor. Discover always says reason was that I received and signed for the Spiral Staircase.
My documentation to support my claim for I did not receive the quality and services as were promised by the merchant I more than proved my case to be valid and indisputable beyond reproach.
The purchase of this Spiral Staircase isnt like purchasing a laptop or some other small device that can be easily determined as bad and returned. I have stressed this at least a dozen times.
I am requesting reimbursement for one of the 2 payments of {$2000.00} ( Payment 1 in XX/XX/2017 Payment 2 XX/XX/XXXX/XX/XX/2017 ) from Discover and XXXX XXXX for the cost over-runs incurred due to the numerous issues with this exterior graded Spiral Staircase.
I have attached for you the following documents.
Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Complaint Letter DOC1 My rebuttal letter for the arbitration step. This is a 3 page document.
DOC2 XXXX shipping information email. This is a 4 page document.
Review the email closely. XXXX was very explicit in checking the Palate and Box for apparent damage to count the parts and get the driver out of there as quickly as possible in there voicemail to me in conjunction with this email.
The email states to check for damage and the correct number of parts. This was done. The pictures point to checking the Palate and Box for damage in the pictures in the email However, there was no way for me to determine the issue with the Ground to Deck floor height issue or the Platform and Platform Rail Angle mismatch issue until constructing the staircase.
The shipping company truck driver is not going to hang around all day while it is constructed for any problems.
This 12 Foot ton structure comprises the following MAJOR part components 1 Full Length Continuous Pole 1 Pole Cover 1 Platform 1 Platform Rail 11 Steps 34 Step Poles 34 Step Pole Clamps 1 Base Plate Numerous Nuts and Bolts DOC3 My 25 page document which in great detail covers all of the problems I encountered. Read this document carefully and thoroughly. No one seems to have done this.
DOC4 City of Water documents for the building and zoning permits. These drawings specifically call for a Spiral Staircase. Any change from this application would require going through the entire process again. Cost more money and delaying the timeframe for this rehab.
DOC5 XXXX XX/XX/XXXX Installation Instructions, which clearly states on Item/Step 6 that the Platform MUST be flush with the Deck Floor. This is why the 108 Ground to Floor dimension has to be exact.
DOC6 XXXX Stairs Documentation regarding the dispute. Which are 3 copies of I signed and received the staircase. They state that they were only aware of the height issue. That is a lie, just read the emails in my document. They also say in an email that they will reimburse for the platform rail issue, but then I never hear from XXXX again.
DOC7 Similar type of complaint against XXXX XXXX XXXX with XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. They found on my behalf and refunded me the monies I requested based on my complaint I did not get the services I paid for same as with XXXX XXXX.
DOC8 The letter from XXXXXX/XX/XXXX with the Dispute being resolved in my favor.
XXXX plays dumb again and again and again : First with the Ground To Deck Floor Height issue. I spent over a 1/2 a day in phone calls and emails demanding they correct this issue. I finally got the sales person involved who forced the issue of of XXXX Customer Service and Manufacturing Department to send a new spacer overnight. XXXX wanted 4-6 weeks to send me the spacer. XXXX states in their dispute document how they sent the part overnight at their expense. This expense to them was a few dollars. I had to cover the cost of the contractor building scaffolding to hold the Spiral Staircase up while we waited for this spacer.
Second the issue with the Platform Rail having a different angle than the Platform. With this issue XXXX outright refused to fix the issue. They emailed me about the height of the platform rail. Yet my email clearly states the Town of XXXX signed off on the drawing so that was not an issue. XXXX finally agreed to reimburse for the Platform Rail but I never heard from them again. This cost another 1/2 day of labor and {$500.00} in materials to build the Platform Rail correctly.
XXXX calls the Staircase customer and high quality, it was neither.
It is very ; very clear that XXXX did not provide what they promised. Thus my DISPUTE claim for reimbursement should have easily been ruled in my favor.
Please review the information carefully. As I will be looking at filing further complaints with the State of Connecticut Attorney Generals Office, Department of Consumer Protection and the State of Connecticut Department of Banking.
My only option is reimbursement from DISPUTING the charges. If I take them to small claims court, not only will they not show up, but there would be no way for me to collect when I win the small court judgement.

Complaint: I have repeatedly requested Discover Card quit using my e-mail address as a means of communications. I first issued a Cease & Desist request around XX/XX/XXXX to Discover Card via phone contact with a representative at their customer service number. I additionally contacted XXXX XXXX with Discover Card Executive Services at XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX and spoke with his assistant on a recorded line advising him they need to Cease & Desist using my e-mail as is my right under the Can-Spam Act. Complaint: I was charged for a cash advance before XXXX and Discover can not till me when it was authorized because they can only go back 7 years. This account has accrued interest 28.99 % to a balance of XXXX. They have shown a cash advance balance of XXXX in XX/XX/2011 they said that's as far as they can go back. I never had a cash advance during the past years I have made purchases but no cash advance. Now the company tells me my balance of XXXX is related to a cash advance and high interest of 28.99 % for a cash advance that I never made no purchases included. I have spoke to them several times in the past 140 days and also the fraud department twice with no resolution and they cant show me where the cash advance came from because they stated that they can only go back 7 years. I spoke with them again today and spoke with XXXX in Ohio and she would not give me her id number. Please help with this. In reality there will be no way I can pay this amount.

Problem during payment process
Complaint: I have a loan with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I have always made my payments on time. For some reason I realized that there was a late payment on my credit report. As you can see, I have always had a stellar payment record with this company. I tried contacting both XXXX, XXXX, XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX with no successful resolution. At the time I filed my original complaint, I was unable to attach the following call logs to prove I had communications with XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/2018. I spoke with XXXX on the previous days as well. Somewhere on or the day before is where I heard him make his questionable statement. I believe it was on XX/XX/2018. It could have been the day before. I am unsure If the women on the phone told me that I need/ must sign it ( rule 11 and consent to judgment ) before she told if not I would/will be taken to court. Please investigate. What she said seems/feels threatening to me. What XXXX XXXX said about the consent to judgment form seems/feels very much misleading. Please double check our last communications. Both representatives of XXXX XXXX XXXX have raised ethical questions and concerns to me creating a very real feeling of oppression with mental pressure and distress. I am attaching my XXXX as proof that I am a veteran. Please keep from sharing from XXXX XXXX XXXX if possible. I also want to state that I will hold up my end of the settlement agreement faxed on XX/XX/2018 unless otherwise offered an alternative. Complaint: Received a letter from Discover to provide photo ID and SOCIAL SECURITY CARD.
( PHOTOS ). I am law enforcement and often on Special assignment. The letter was received 10 days after sent to me. I called Discover and made them aware of my situation. One I did not have a copy of my Social Security card and had to make a trip to the SS office to order a new one. Once I went to the office I was made aware that the SS offcie no Longer gave Receipts that included the Social Security number. It only ststed that a new card was processed.. I forwarded Discover what they asked for. However they had advised me it was 24 hours to late and the card was closed. I asked to speak to a Supervisor and was denied that opportunity on several occasions. Now the card is revoked and i was told was the card was closed all of the points and cash back earned would be credited to the card. However, there is clear discrimination here because was receiving my photo ID, the call was made to close the account based on ethnicity.
Today they called me and said the card was not revoked and wanted a payment. i asked for a aSupervisor then and was told that I could reapply for the card ... this card has clearly damaged my credit. I have attempted several times to resolve this amicably with this company.

Complaint: A previous complaint was filed with CFPB. That complaint number was XXXX. This complaint is in follow up to that complaint. Discover replied that they had corrected the error when in fact the error was not fixed.
On or about XX/XX/2017, I made a purchase for two airline tickets from XXXX. The dollar amount was {$490.00}. One of the tickets was cancelled and the airline refunded the money to us. However, to this date Discover has not provided the refund to us that the airline issued.
A credit was issued by Discover on or about XX/XX/XXXX. This credit is sitting on an old account and needs to be transferred to my new account. Every time Discover transfers this credit to my account, they offset the credit with another charge of {$490.00}. To date, my Discover card balance still reflects me being charged for two tickets, not one. I have attached a screen shot that shows this. Whenever I speak with a Discover representative, they tell me that there is a credit that was provided on XX/XX/XXXX. However as you will see on the screen shot, there is no credit for XX/XX/XXXX.
My balance currently is {$490.00} more than what the balance should be. Discover needs to stop misleading the CFPB and they actually need to fix this issue immediately.

Complaint: I had this card since college from XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX. This company removed me from credit protection, without me knowing, when I was sick and financially challenged, secondly, they decided to close my account when I wanted to set up a payment plan. I believe that this company is XXXX and the representatives just wanted to ruin my credit because I am XXXX and XXXX skinned. I was beaten and attacked and they did not care even after I told them. I needed a little more time to make a payment. I am ill and I need to have my protection plan reinstated. Please help, because this is the only major credit card that I have with a high limit. The issue here is on XXXX it says there is one late fee. Discover and my cousin have worked all this out and I just want the late fee off my file like it is for him. Trouble with how payments are being handled
Complaint: I completed what was supposed to be an easy refinance of my current student loan with this company. Another company issued the payoff check of {$13000.00} and Discover confirmed receipt of the check on XX/XX/2017. However, they never credited the check to my account so my account became past due and subsequently reported to the credit agencies. I called in XX/XX/XXXX have this rectified, I was told it would be taken care of. I called again in XX/XX/XXXX once I discovered it had not been taken care of and they escalated my issue and told me they would charge off the unearned interest outstanding of XXXX. Checking again in XX/XX/XXXX, Discover Student Loans STILL had not charged off the amount and I escalated my matter once again. I received written confirmation that the amount of interest had been charged in error and that they had advised the three credit bureaus of the mistake to remove the delinquency. I checked my credit score today and it had dropped 100 points. Upon running my credit report, low and behold, there was the delinquent account from Discover student loans listed on all three reports. I have filed a dispute to all three bureaus, but I want Discover to be reprimanded for their inability to follow through with basic financial customer service and borderline fraudulent activity.
