Complaint: I would like to obtain help with understanding how my finance company is calculating payments and the amount of time a payment is late. in XXXX I was {$640.00} behind on my payment. On XXXX XXXX my vehicle was reposessed. On XXXX XXXX I paid {$750.00} to have my car returned. That according to them left me awith a {$100.00} credit. A few days later they were charged a {$250.00} repo fee. That left {$150.00} of repo fee, not payment owed. I then made payment for XXXX on XXXX XXXX. of my standard payment of XXXX. Still leaving the repo fee owed. I am not disputing owing the repo fee, I just dont feel that the fee should be accounted into my days behind on my regular payment as they are XXXX seperate items. Since the company is counting the repo fee as a past due payment, they are claimim=ng that my entire payment is more than 40 days past due, which is not the case. My standard payment of XXXX was due on XXXX XXXX when I paid XXXX payment but because they are counting repo fee as part of my payment, they are unwilling to offer an extention for my standard payment.

Complaint: Credit Acceptance corporation are falsely reporting on my credit report which has been hurting my ability to purchase consumer products from other companies. My identity was stolen and used years ago with out my permission with Credit Acceptance 6 years ago. I filed a report and also notified them that I never co signed a loan. I was told that it would be taken care of but instead Credit Acceptance has been listening negative payments on my credit report for a vehicle I have never seen nor have any ownership of. Now it 's list repossessed on my credit report which makes it very difficult for me to get a fair rate on an auto loan. I request this this company send me all the original contracts that they said I signed or delete themselves from my credit reports immediately.

Complaint: I made a payment arrangement with my loan company. There was a tow truck driver sent to repo the vehicle after that was done. I made the arranged payment and gave him the conformation. He said ok pulled his truck away from my vehicle and allowed my husband to proceed to leave with the vehicle. He then stayed in my driveway and when I went out to check he yelled that my payment was no good. When I tried to show him the confirmation he put his hand in my face and said " I am done with you '' he then ran to his truck while yelling " I am having your husband arrested for grand theft auto ''. He proceeded to contact the XXXX County Sheriff 's Department. While he walked got in his truck I contacted the finance company to confirm the payment was received. The Sheriff 's Deputy arrived and advised me that the driver had called to report that my husband endangered him by " driving the vehicle off the forks of his truck '' and claimed that there was a domestic disturbance occurring. All of which was false. After explaining the situation to the officer with the loan company, Credit Acceptance, on the phone. I was advised that they could not force me to surrender my vehicle without a court order and the driver was removed from the area.

Complaint: I noticed that I see Credit Acceptance on my credit report but I never encounter making a deal with them on a car. I recently received papers on being sued for a car that I never acknowledge that was mine. They provided a copy of the paperwork that was signed and my name was signed but I never had a car. I do n't understand what is going on. After receiving threatening calls ; I had to change my number because the harassment kept continuing after i told them that I did n't sign for a car. Since changing my number the calls have been coming again, but now they are using a " Blocked '' or " Private '' number.

Complaint: I bought a car and was financed through credit acceptance lender in XXXX in XXXX, NY. About 3 months after purchasing and making my payments on time, I was leaving from work and the vehicle did not start. When I called credit acceptance they told me I owed them {$100.00} but could not give me details as to why I owed, and told me that the car was disabled until u paid it. This was the beginning to my problems and I was paying {$450.00} for a XXXX XXXX. As time went on and I continued making my payments..there were times in which I did not get paid until 3-4 days after car payment was due, and my vehicle would be disabled and put into repossession mode in which they could pick the car up and charge me the fees it would cost for repo as well as the car payment. If this company is suppose to help build credit, why are they allowed to continue to charge fees at ridiculous rates to keep people or worsen their credit building process. Im so confused, because this should be illegal. Furthermore I have had my car repossessed, even when my car payment was made on time and the vehicle was n't even disabled! When I called credit acceptance with the repossession guy awaiting to see what was to happen, they said that the car was in repossession. So the guy took the car. I called back later that day after checking my bank statements and reviewed in fact that my payment was made, they told me it was a mistake on their behalf and went on to tell me that I was still responsible for the repo fees of {$250.00} in order to obtain my car back. This was it for me. I paid the {$250.00} and started looking for another vehicle and the following month did a volunary repossession. Now they have been trying to sue me for the difference of {$6000.00}. Retail price at purchase with the {$10000.00} interest rate was {$28000.00}. I drive the car for 3 years and paid off over {$16000.00} for a car worth {$10000.00} initially. I feel like something needs to be done because this company is ripping people off in somewhat a legal way, but faces itself as fraudulent. I just want them to call it even and stop jeopardizing my credit that I have been working so hard to clear up.

Complaint: I purchased my first car on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and financed it with Credit Acceptance Corp . I made my payments online on time in XXXX and XXXX XXXX using my debit card. On XXXX XXXX I was in an accident and immediately filed a claim. The car is a total loss. When I tried to make a payment on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX the payment was declined with no explanation. I tried several times without success. I called the company on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and was told more than likely the insurance company had taken care of the loan. On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX I called the Credit Acceptance because the insurance company was still waiting to hear from Credit Acceptance. I was then told that I had missed XXXX payments and I had been reported to the credit bureau. I was told that when there is an accident you can not make payments using a debit card. I had no way of knowing this. I am attaching a copy of the message I received when I tried to make a payment. Today I tried to make the XXXX past due payments using two methods : debit card online and calling and neither method allowed me to make a payment. I wanted to take care of this as soon as possible because I need to purchase a car to get to my XXXX jobs but can not buy a new car with the credit report from Credit Acceptance. There is nothing in the payment coupon book that tells me I can not make a payment with a debit card if I have been in an accident. I want Credit Acceptance to accept my debit card payment and I want them to fix my credit report. I am young and this is my first attempt at establishing credit. I was diligent in making my payments in an accepted manner per the coupon book and coupon. Because I work XXXX jobs I can not wait on the phone to make the payments during their office hours which are Eastern Time ; I live in California. The insurance company on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX confirmed they are also waiting on Credit Acceptance for paperwork to pay off the loan.

Complaint: I am a XXXX yr old woman on social security. In 2013 I applied to credit acceptqnce for a car acceptance for a {$10000.00} dollar car loan. I swear I agreed to an 8percent finance fee ; they now claim I owe on an 18 percent loan! They call my phone every 1/2 hour from XXXX till XXXX every day I feel they are a " preditary lending group ''. And they 're preying on seniors & the poor. Are there any other complaints about this company/ And how can I find out about joining in on them? And how can I get this harassment to stop? It is starting to affect my health ( nerves ). I hate to hear my phone ringing Please advise me & warn others of this credit acceptance company I haver already paid what the car cost & am being harassed for the amount they say is finance charges. Complaint: My account was NEVER late and was paid in full ON TIME after an accident that totalled the car. My insurance sent in settlement and Credit Acceptance Corp GAP insurance covered the balance. This was verified at the time it was happening. Recently upon pulling copies of my credit to find out why I was having issues, it was discovered that Credit Acceptance had marked the account as 'Derogatory ' and 'Payment after charge off/collection Paid collection '. I made contact with them recently which the customer service person saw that the account was indeed paid as agreed and never late, and claimed to forward the information to another department. I have received NO communications since then.
