Complaint: I previously contacted your agency on XXXX XXXX, 2015 regarding my loan with Credit Acceptance Corporation ( CAC ). At that time, you accepted CAC 's response that they had tried and failed to contact me with an explanation of the money that was supposedly due them. You were given false information as I have not received any phone calls or written correspondence from CAC with any information. In fact, I have called CAC numerous times to try to straighten this out only to be transferred from person to person ( who could n't answer my questions ) and be falsely told that someone would be call me back with answers. To date, as I stated above, no one has contacted me. Because of this lack of communication on CAC 's part, my truck was re-possessed this morning. I think the way this matter was handled by CAC has been unfair, unlawful and unethical. I will be attaching a spread sheet showing what was due and what was paid as well as a copy of my initial complaint to you. I need to get to the bottom of this as when they took my truck, my daughter 's purse was in the truck which contained her driver 's license and her social security card as well as those of her minor children. As she is a school bus driver, she can not work without her driver 's license. This situation has gotten out of hand, please help.

Complaint: I purchased a vehicle XX/XX/XXXX, reason : Old car was totaled which I myself was not at fault. So Knowing im not a people person due to personal issues. I purchased a car from a local dealer. Being a very busy single mom working and in vital need of transportation for myson to a collage prep XXXX school, and most importantly work means I needed a car fast. Went to a dealer I had done business with and trusted he was honest. Boy was I wrong!,!,! First he made an appointment to have me stop by and pick or look at some vehicles. I did they were mostly over priced. And not to clean. Simply not worth what I was willing to put down for a safe decent car with a lower payment and maybe a bit bigger since my children are still growing. I did find a car and was promised he would give me a great deal and {$4000.00} would be sufficient in addition to another {$300.00} which needed to be received by dealer right away. As promised I did all that was asked of me. I even felt with dealing with just men which kinda made me feel like prey. But I got over that and started to stress the lengthy issue and picking my son up on time. Well Later after my purchase I had some kinda issue with the car and could n't figure it found out from advance auto that there 's was a device in my car that would shut the car off if I was extremely late and avoiding them but I did one of that. I had direct payment. Also the first week my boss and auto body noticed small sounds and the drivers seatbelt work sometimes with great effort. In addition to that the sunroof started to have issues and one day I stopped at the dealership asked for or someone to look at the issue, and to my surprise a hooka pen. I do n't smoke XXXX. It cracked the plastic casing and the dealer had someone close it due to winter arriving and the peace that fell off should have been replaced. I started to make complaints regarding these issues .but nothing was done. Also it took a while but I did end up finding the lean holder and thinking that they were true to their mission statement I started to explain what was going on and the amount loaned was too much then my down payment seem to be something that would haunt me in this future. I explained that the car was having issues and also that I was extremely happy to find out who my Leander was because no one explained a thing to me. They did n't even know the small suv had an automatic starter till I expressed to XXXX XXXX. I was also very expressive regarding the machine in the car which could cause all types of strenuous issues especially for a person such as myself. Well long story short I 'm in XXXX and will on a journey to assist the fraud this company has done, The injustice done by signing binding contracts as if they were me .they took my car with my grandmothers vintage rosary and an old wedding bad hanging from my mirror and they also took my emergency kit. And last but not least the work I had done to my vehicle to fix the ball joints, have a new batterie installed fix major work to the AIr conditioner which leaked till I became frustrated and took this vehicle off the road. It seem like a great blessing when someone very close to my family. Notice the wrong that was taking place and how I was paying for a car I 'd driven for about five months. Being bought XX/XX/XXXX and taken off the road XX/XX/XXXX then in the shop being semi repaired due to my budget. But finally the car gets towed home I start to clear the fraud and misinturpitated information that has been used by insurance companies to deny me any insurance. Causing me to depend on fixing the van offered to me while I handle the situation with the XXXX Lincolm mix that I believe has been paid with the work I 've invested also cleaning it after the first day owning there was a devise installed without my permission. Now I 'm looking at contracts with my name signed? confused need help

In addition to that XXXX reports the loan " Charged Off '' for XXXX and XXXX. All Credit Bureau reporting across all three credit bureaus are inaccurate. This loan has been taken care of with GAP and a XXXX payoff leaving me with a balance owed of XXXX, which will be taken care of on XXXX/XXXX/2015, all XXXX should report the updates!

Complaint: I settled an auto repossession debt from 2010 ( i gave the car back because it stopped working because it was a flood damaged vehicle from Hurricane XXXX ). I paid the settlement amount to Credit Acceptance and they acknowledged receipt, and that the debt has been settled. The problem is I am trying to purchase a home and I need to have my credit report updated ASAP to reflect this information and Credit Accept refuses to release the information to XXXX XXXX. Despite the fact that I have authorized them to release the information. Every time XXXX calls them they refuse to release the info and I am told by the credit report people that Credit Accept is refusing to respond to electronic requests to update the information. This does not seem fair especially in light of the fact that the automobile was defective in the first place, and they said they would accept the car back to satisfy the debt ( but then they wound up putting a collection on my credit report ). When i call Credit Acceptance to complain they say they will cooperate with XXXX, but when XXXX calls they refuse to cooperate. I feel that Credit Acceptance is acting in bad faith.

Complaint: 1 ) On XXXX/XXXX/2015 received a letter in the mail that my monthly payment has gone up to {$220.00} form {$210.00} and my payment would be late if not received now by the XXXX instead of the XXXX.No notice as to why.
2 ) Originally the loan was in my mothers name and mine, the payment was set for auto-pay out of her account.She past away in XXXX 2015. I contacted them and the bank immediately to let them know, and stop the auto pay on my mothers XXXX account. At that time I requested ( since I would be taking over the payments now ) that the payment due date be adjusted to accommodate my banking. They told me that they would have to finish processing my mothers death certificate first and then supervisor could assist me with that. When I called back and I was transferred to a supervisor XXXX he advised that they do not change the due date for any reason. And stated my contract stated that my payment was due on the XXXX of every month and I have a 10 day grace period so if my payment has to be received on or before the XXXX, or it would be considered late. I asked him considering that my mother was the primary on the loan and she pasted away, and was a good customer. If they would consider making an exception & adjust the payment due date. They said no. I also mentioned to them that I would also need a payment booklet, I still have n't received a payment booklet yet, and I always pay on or before the XXXX. I feel like this company is not following fair consumer practices. I feel like they are trying to make it look like I 'm making late payments when they are paid on time. They are not providing me with proper payment information as stated in their contract. To this date I still have n't received a payment booklet from them. It seems like they are trying to make it look like I 'm late on my payments. In order to make it look like they would have the right to repo my car. I do not trust this company. I 've always been a good customer paying on time, and I feel like they are being dishonest & trying to take advantage of me/ ruin my credit.

Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX, I co signed on a car. Later I had to file bankruptcy. Credit acceptance was still sending me letters while I was under bankruptcy. My bankruptcy was n't dismissed until XX/XX/XXXX. I stop working XX/XX/XXXX. I received a citation from the sheriff XX/XX/XXXX. I immediately called the number on the paper to let them know I was not working. I was told when I start working I could set up a payment arrangement. For three years I have been unemployed. I just started working two months ago. I called to set up a payment arrangement, I was told I was garnished and that 's it. I went to the court house they told me credit acceptance never sent me a court date to appear in court. They also lied and told the court I ignored the citation. I have my phone records to prove I called them right after the sheriff served the papers. The citation paper have XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX. The papers that were sent to my job says XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX.

Complaint: I had a car payment with Credit Acceptance Corpration. I was never late for years until I got a job transfer to New Mexico. The Credit Acceptance Corpration did not help me they made me feel I was a dead beat consumer. They finaly repo the car because I didnt want it anymore because there poor customer service and i paid them over {$10000.00} in intrest and fees and I still owe {$8000.00} and the car is only worth {$4000.00} I feel this is unfair and want them to renegotate the terms.

Complaint: I am requesting that CFPB investigate the lending of credit practices ofCredit Acceptance Corporation. The vehicle loan product presented tome was done in very deceptive manner. I advised their representativethat the due date of the payment of my loan did not coincide with mypay date. I was advised not to worry because I was given a grace periodper the coupon book. I am constantly being harassed byCredit Acceptance if I do not get the payment in by the XXXX of the monthI have attached the coupon book and correspondence that I received onXX/XX/2015 stating the intent to repossess. Their practices are verydeceptive because the coupon book says by XX/XX/XXXX a late fee will beassessed and I was given the same information by the representativewho sold me the product but instead I receive an intent to repossess letter that isdated XXXX/XXXX/2015. The XX/XX/XXXX payment was made XXXX/XXXX/2015. I have filed a complaint before but now I want the corporation and it 's practices to be investigated. Complaint: It was Sunday XXXX XXXX. I received a call at XXXX XXXX from XXXX.
It was from Credit Acceptance, the lien holder on my vehicle. I answered the call, but there was no response and then I was hung up on. I called immediately back, and was quickly connected to a representative. I was asked to verify my account, and I gave them my name, and my address, but then they asked for ANOTHER piece of information to verify ( for XXXX purposes ). I questioned this, because they originally called me, threby meaning they would have to do outbound XXXX requirements.
They started to argue with me, and I never provided the additional information because I was mad, and because they started to argue with me about the process. While this was going on, the rep started to talk about the specifics of my loan, the fact that I was overdue, and that he needed to collect payment at that very moment because there is no grace period on the note. It states right inside the note that there is a 15 day grace period before it is considered late and collection proceedings are started.
The thing that blows my mind about this is the fact that I had already sent out a payment automatically from my Bank account on Friday afternoon! It was removed from my checking account, and was waiting on Credit Acceptance to process it! However, they chose to have a representative Call me at XXXX on a SUNDAY morning as I was trying to drive to Church. Get your payment processors to work on Sunday while the banks are closed!
I was incredibly offended by this nuisance, but more by the fact that the representative failed to properly verify my identity even by there own XXXX Controls! I am confident that I could call in again and not have my privacy protected adequately! This must stop because I am confident if this lack of regard for security happened to myself, a person whom has never missed a payment, I can only imagine it gets worse for those in collections, or those seeking to modify a loan.
I would like my credit report to reflect that I had not missed any payments, and I would like the CFPB to investigate and redress my claim against this careless company.

Complaint: I had co-signed a loan for a XXXX XXXX in 2012 for a friend. I am the make because my credit was more impressive than hers. She fell behind on her payments as she no longer could afford the almost XXXX dollars a month payment. This is falling back on me. My account is currently on my credit report showing that it is in collections. I am currently on social security and XXXX which stops them from collecting anything from me and I was receiving when I signed off on the loan.They send me letters from time to time. I do not want this to backfire on me.
