Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX I voluntarily returned my car to my creditor. I was sent a notice from the redemption department on XXXX XXXX to see if we could work out terms for me to get my car back, we could not come to terms on this matter. I never received any information on when or where my car would be sold or that it would be sold. Then on XXXX XXXX I received a letter of Disposition of Repossessed Vehicle. The letter stated that the car had been sold and that there was a deficiency of XXXX. In there calculations the started with a balance owing of {$9200.00}, and that they sold the car for {$2600.00}, leaving my obligation at {$6500.00}. My dispute is this, on XXXX XXXX I also received a letter from the company that I bought the car from stating that my balance owing was {$5500.00}, and by my calculations when I turned my car in I was at roughly the same amount. If I only owed {$5500.00} on my car if I were to pay it off directly then how can I possible owe {$9200.00} when I turned it in. There seems to be something legally wrong with the way they are calculating amount owed. Does interest on the loan not stop the day I return the car or the day they sell it. How can they have me owing almost {$5000.00} more than the payoff.

Complaint: Credit Acceptance sold a 19 year old debt to XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX in XXXX, IL. now they called me and say they want to collect. The first representative said a court order was already filed in XXXX County under an attorney named XXXX XXXX and that I had missed my court hearing back in XXXX of XXXX. I told him they needed to serve me court papers, he said it was public notice and I do n't have to be served, then I asked him his name and he quickly transferred me to another person. The next person would not give me her name either. but she said this was not filed in court yet and I needed to pay them {$11000.00}. As soon as I told her this was almost 20years old she hung up on me. I tried calling them back asking for an address for the company and the woman on the phone refused to give their business address. I pulled my credit report and they are on it that is how I was able to obtain their address and phone number. How can they have a right to be on my credit report? I resolved this issue back in XXXX, but that company still sold my information to another company. I went through the shooting at XXXX XXXX XXXX and my anxiety has slowly been settling down when this call comes in. Again I am not sleeping, I am afraid to go out doors. Thank you for this website.

Complaint: Here are my concern, I am upset and annoy that Credit Acceptance would not understand my problem. I explain to them that I am victim of flood that hit state of South Carolina in XXXX XXXX. Because of the flood, it is the reason I am have trouble making payment of my auto loan. This flood damages my home and also put me out of work for few months. Now I had this auto loan since XXXX XXXX and always made my monthly payments on time and more than what is asked to be paid. My monthly payment is {$280.00}, but I always made {$300.00} monthly. On Friday night I made a payment of what is owe leaving me a balance of {$60.00}, so when I got home later that night I find that my vehicle were missing out my backyard. After calling the police to file missing report my vehicle is gone, the officer told me to call the financial company first because they may have it. If Credit Acceptance told you that they done then call back and we file missing vehicle report. I call Credit Acceptance ask where my vehicle is, nobody could not answer my question until next day. Credit Acceptance wanted me to make payment arrangement for the balance amount of {$60.00}. I am confused is what I explain to them because I do n't understand if my vehicle has shut off system on it, then why come and get the vehicle. I got no answer ; instead they wanted me to make arrange for the balance amount of {$60.00}. When I questions them about state of South Carolina law on repossess of vehicle, here is what Credit Acceptance told me " we are second chance auto loan provide and we do n't have to give rights to notice letter. '' I call the dealer to explain my situation and the dealer were very shocker because he was told if you communicate with Credit Acceptance they would never come get the vehicle. So I had to pay a fee of {$250.00} to get my vehicle back, and {$50.00} fee to towing company that clean out vehicle. Not to mention the cost for travel to get my vehicle from XXXX, SC at auction. The Credit Acceptance told me that I still had fee to pay on top of my regular monthly payment. That fee came too totally of {$850.00}. Credit Acceptance break down into monthly fee attach with my monthly payments.

Complaint: I owed credit acceptance about {$7000.00} for a car loan. They took me to court and everything got settled and the judge ordered me to pay XXXX % of my gross income every week until the debt is paid off. They are not to contact me anymore or to harass me over the phone. Since the Judge gave his judgement, credit acceptance has still been calling me, harassing me and they are now claiming to be the United States government. I have changed my number several times and they still find me and claim to be the United States government or a representative from the student loan forgiveness program seeking to get my personal information such as my bank account. When i use a different number to call them back, they pick up the phone saying " credit acceptance ''. Since everything was settled in court, they no longer have the right to contact me in any way, especially making false accusations claiming they are the United States government. I have taken other actions such as making a police report and reporting them to the FTC, but they continue to call me and family members around me. When I do n't give them what they want, they start using foul language, hang up and sometimes call me as much as 55 times a day. They call using several different phone numbers, but the main one is XXXX ( XXXX, IL )

Complaint: My husband purchased a car and never received a call from this company for about a year and when he did he was one day late with the payment they immediately threaten to take action and called constantly every hour on the hour when asked to not call on certain days or hours that he was at work. We have filed an insurance claim on our car due to {$800.00} in damage and the day that we left the dealership we had issues with the car they did n't want it back because it was their car. Now we 've had problems ever since. Credit Acceptance has been harassing us since we filed a claim for damage and we have to pay out of pocket for the damage to the car as well as the car payment so now they are threatening to repo it when I purchased the car it was {$7000.00} and I put nearly {$3000.00} down on the car this was XX/XX/XXXX it is now XX/XX/XXXX and I still owe over {$5300.00}. Our payments are at {$250.00} a month and my car is only worth about {$2500.00}. I do believe we were scammed out of money at one point because I remember paying a payment one time at the beginning of the month and about halfway into the month they called me saying I did n't make a payment and I paid the payment twice and they said they did not have it on record what can be done? This company has prevented me trading it in and refinancing a loan. In fact there are multiple recalls on this vehicle which is why I do not understand why the price was so high when I purchased it. The defects were still present when we purchased the car keep in mind it is XXXX Chevrolet HHR and we purchased it in XX/XX/XXXX those defects were already supposed to be fixed when we purchased the car. I really do not want this car and unfortunately neither the dealer nor credit acceptance would give me back my money for this car when I first purchased it and wanted to take it back the next week. I just want my money back and for the harassment and threats to stop.

Complaint: I purchased a XXXX XXXX XXXX on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX that was sold as a " Certified Pre-Owned '' from XXXX in XXXX XXXX, CO. The only finance company they said would work with us was Credit Acceptance Corporation with an interest rate of 18.99 % but could refinance it after a year. I do n't have enough space on this page to go into all of the fraudulent and horrible things that have been going on with this company but THEY are corrupt and need to be shut down! I needed a car so we did it. I asked for the XXXX and was told they would give it to me once the finance paperwork came back due to having to update me as a new owner but all Certified cars were XXXX owner, never wrecked, and eligible for an extended service contract. By the time we got the financing done it was about XXXX on a Saturday and was told they would have to wait for XXXX to write it up but they would give me my Buyers Order which shows the contract. During this time they told me that XXXX required I have a starter interruption device installed in the car due to being high risk which i was told could be removed after 1 year of good payments and I agreed to do it. I looked everything over and saw that they had charged me a {$25.00} emission fee and asked why that was on there. I was told it was an error because the vehicle is emission exempt and they would correct it when I came back for my completed finance paperwork because the lender would not put that on there. During this time I got a phone call that XXXX would only finish the loan if I added XXXX insurance and an extended service contract but that I had to sign the form it was my choice. I was told that I can refuse it but then they would not give me the loan and I would lose my {$1500.00} cash down plus mileage on the car so I was left with no choice. When I finally got my finance paperwork they had charged me for the emission test too! I asked why and was told that I had to call XXXX to have them remove it. I contacted XXXX who told me that XXXX put it on the loan so the charge was valid. I told them that it was exempt and asked to speak with their legal department. The amount on my finance paperwork is more than the amount on my Buyers Order but they said it 's legal. For over 2 years now I have been fighting the finance company about my loan. I have proof that everything about it is fraudulent including my extended warranty which I canceled and have still not been refunded for. The mileage on the vehicle is not correct according to all of my docs and would speak with " XXXX '' at XXXX who would give me a few days to come up with the proof he demanded or he would close the case. He closed my case about 10 times over the years. I finally sent him EVERYTHING and could not get a hold of him for months at a time and was told he was the ONLY person I could speak with. Once I finally spoke with " XXXX '' he said that he went over everything and there was nothing he could find wrong even though the car does n't show that I am the owner through XXXX or XXXX etc. He told me he was closing the case and if I got the proof that the car was exempt to let him know and he would reopen it. He said its only the dealers fault but they have to check the vehicles they lend for! I went to motor vehicle where it shows it was tested on date of purchase but it was n't so I went to the emissions place to get a XXXX report and the ONLY time it ever had emissions was when I was forced to do it on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX since it showed it in the computer through XXXX.It was reported fraudulently and are charging me for items they can't.I have been calling daily begging them to transfer me to the legal dept to speak with XXXX about this and was told that there 's a note on my file stating they are NOT aloud to transfer me to the legal dept since he closed it! I still faxed the proof with a letter but no return call. I have EVERY conversation on recording as proof too!

Complaint: I got a loan for a truck in XXXX, XXXX. Even though I was told the truck was still under warranty, a warranty in the amount of XXXX was placed on the loan of the truck. During the first part of the loan, I attempted to use the warranty but no one would accept the warranty. When I informed the lender, no action was taken. In XXXX, after filing a complaint with Michigan XXXX, the lender provided me with a number regarding the warranty. I contacted them and sent a letter in getting it off my loan. It was XXXX XXXX, XXXX it was finally cancelled. they only gave me XXXX of the warranty. I know they do n't have any information because I was told I could change the billing date from the XXXX to the end of the month but later I was told it could not be done. When they contact me they always ask me the same questions, why am I am late and it is not in the records.

Complaint: On XXXX XXXX my vehicle was involved in an accident. I notified Credit Acceptance of this and continued to check back in with them to keep them updated on the situation. I received a call on XXXX XXXX from Credit Acceptance and they requested payment which was not due to XXXX plus towing fees because they stated I abandon the vehicle, therefore they went and got it and charged me with the fees. First, I never abandon the vehicle I have a paper trial with the company from the day that this begin and has informed them of every action that I am taking. For the last month they have stated that because I " abandon '' the vehicle and they are the lien holder, they went in got the vehicle from towing yard because the vehicle was incurring fees by sitting in the yard, I was aware of that, I called them and told them that. I spoke with several agent about this issue and they all reviewed the notes and agreed that is why they picked up the vehicle, around XXXX XXXX I Spoke with a agent by the name of XXXX and she stated to me that someone at their company went in and place the abandon status on the vehicle and that is what cause them to tow the vehicle. That is what concerns me the most, Each time that I have reached out to them about this issue, Credit Acceptance has given me the run around and I am exhausted from dealing with this, Please assist me with issue.

I had found a Small AWD XXXX Suzuki Aerio Sx vehicle that was on there lot.. A verbal agreement of XXXX was what the dealership wanted for this little car. However due to my income tax only being around XXXX we had agreed that I could use that money as a down payment and lease the rest. They had me lease the Vehicle with a company Called Credit Acceptance Corporation of XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX Phone number XXXX XXXX. Which I then find out the vehicle had be lease for 4 times more then what the dealership was asking for the vehicle. The agremment was made for XXXX and now instead I 'm locked into a lease agreement with Credit acceptance Corporation for over XXXX not including the down payment in cash that XXXX XXXX XXXX accepted in the amount of XXXX. Any help with this situation will be greatly appreciated. Screen shots of the XXXX conversation that started in regards to the vehicle has been attached to the complaint. Complaint: Long story short a payment was missed 2 years ago resulting in the repossession of my vehicle. From the date of the missed payment until the repossession no other payments were missed. Made several attempts to have the payment added to the end of the lease as a finale payment but the company declined to do so. After the vehicle was possessed I began the process of recovery. Paid the past due balance in full as well as misc. fees accrued by the repo process including a new key {$170.00} for the vehicle which brings me to my complaint. The vehicle was taken on a Saturday and I recovered the property on the next available business day to do so. I told the representative over the phone that the key was not necessary and that I have the ability to re-program my key thus making theirs useless to me. I accepted the key over the phone under duress ( stated over phone ) because if not I would n't be able to recover my property. When I signed the paperwork to release the vehicle I included in writing I was refusing the key and left it with the person handling the release of my vehicle. Flash forward a few months and im received threating calls to have my car " XXXX '' or that they will repo ... ..again. Im not too sure how this process works but im not a fan of how this company has conducted themselves thus far and hopefully this will help my voice be heard.

Complaint: Im still trying to figure out the fees charged by this company and how my payments are applied. I was on a payment arrangement to make payment for a pass due amount. an amount that the company was saying was 4 months past due even though I make a payment every month. My car was repossesed even though I had arrangement to make payment. I was quoted an amount that was due to get vehicle back and a total due with repo fees. Once I paid the amount to get vehicle back I was told another amount. They said that they added a " Key Fee '', for a key that I did not receive when I picked up vehicle. I was also told that I had 30 days from the day XXXX picked vehicle up to make a payment, but the scheduled payments, which included the key fee, for today, but told me that I could call back and change to later if needed. I called today and was told no changes and that my vehicle would be repossesed again.

Complaint: I purchased an ( Infiniti FX35 XXXX ) from a car dealer called XXXX located in XXXX, XXXX. During the contract signing, everything was signed digitally on their computer system. After signing the contract, they only gave me the printed copies of the extended warranty 's documents and told me that their printer suddenly developed fault and promised to print and mailed it through XXXX by the following day. During this transaction, I made a down payment of {$4500.00} to the dealer, and the signed contract was supposed to be : Vehicle Price = $ XXXX+ Extended warranty = $ XXXX+ Taxes and others = $ XXXX+ Based on the above break down, the total amount was $ XXXX+,. My monthly payment was {$430.00}, the term of the agreed contract was supposed to be 30 to 36 months. After one month I decided to cancel the extended warranty due to the fact that they refused to fix the car because the car had multiple issues which they did not disclose to me during purchase, all issues came up when I drove the car from XXXX to XXXX in XXXX, the following day I called them up a made a complaint about faults I discovered, they advised me to take the car to a workshop and inform the warranty company, I did just that but the warranty company refused to pay because the cost was up {$2000.00}. After I made up to nine months payment consistently, I decided to call up the company that financed the car by name " Credit Acceptance '' and required to know my balance, at that point they inform me that my outstanding is $ XXXX+, and term of the contract was increased to 60 months as against the 30 months which I signed for. At this point I asked them about how much they did finance the car, they told my $ XXXX+ I asked them why and how did they pay up to $ XXXX+ because I made a down payment of {$4500.00} which supposed bring down the balance to $ XXXX+ before the financing, at that point they told me '' we know nothing about your down payment, call up your car dealer and ask them ''. Both sides have been pushing me around. ( 1 ) I signed for 30 months contract not 60 months. ( 2 ) The dealer tricked me they were going to send the contract documents the following day because printer was faulty, till this time the contract has not been sent to me. ( 3 ) The down payment I made could not be accounted for. Please I really need help, I am still new in this country struggling to meet up. If I should be paying {$430.00} on a monthly basis, meaning I will end up paying {$25000.00} to the lender adding to the {$4500.00} down payment making it {$30000.00}, I did not bargain for this. This car is a XXXX infiniti FX35, with XXXX miles during purchase. Please contact me if you need more information.
