Complaint: Kohls/Capital One is refusing to remove a 30-day late payment from my credit reports due to a system issue on their side that cancelled the AutoPay for my account WITHOUT my consent. AFTER the pending balance was paid in full, Kohl 's reported the late payment for XX/XX/XXXX to all 3 credit bureaus. I have been a Kohls credit card account holder since XX/XX/XXXX and my account has always been in excellent standing. In XX/XX/XXXX, I reluctantly answered a call on my cell phone from an Unknown caller. I was shocked to find out that it was Kohls Collections Department trying to collect an overdue payment. At first, I thought it was a scam/fraudulent call because it came from an Unknown caller and I knew there was no way I could have a late payment, as I have Autopay enabled for all my accounts. However, when I logged into my account online, I saw that my account was Past Due. I was certain this was due to a system error, but nonetheless, I immediately paid the past due balance of {$110.00}. After settling my account, I spoke with a Customer Service Manager named XX/XX/XXXX ( ID # XXXX ) wanting to know how this happened because my account was set up for Autopay. I was advised that my Autopay was automatically cancelled when my account was previously paid off and had a {$0.00} balance. I was extremely upset that my Autopay was cancelled without my consent and that Kohls made no attempts ( other than calling from Unknown numbers ) to alert me of this situation so that it could be resolved sooner. There were no voicemails left from the Unknown callers, no emails sent, no letters mailed. I receive sales flyers and other mail from Kohls all the time. It is inconceivable that Kohls made no serious attempts to contact me for such an important matter that would negative impact my financial history for 7 years!
I have made numerous attempts to resolve this matter directly with Kohl 's, but they refuse to remove this 30-day late payment from my credit reports, even though by the admission of their own Customer Service Manager ( XX/XX/XXXX ID # XXXX ) with me on XX/XX/XXXX, my Autopay was cancelled by their system without my consent when I previously paid my account in full. I have written 3 separate emails to the Director of Customer Service and Active Customer Engagement ( XXXX XXXX ), Senior Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer ( XXXX XXXX ), President ( XXXX XXXX ), CEO ( XXXX XXXX ) and Executive from the President 's Office ( XXXX XXXX ). I spoke with XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX EST and she advised me that the 30-day late payment would not be removed from my credit reports. I have requested that they provide documentation to prove that the late payment was my fault, but they are unable/unwilling to furnish the documentation or the recording of my call with their Customer Service Manager ( XX/XX/XXXX, ID # XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX ) stating that my AutoPay was cancelled by their system and without my consent, unless I retain a lawyer and they receive a subpoena. This inaccurate late payment is unfairly costing me thousands of dollars and they refuse to accept the fact that this late payment was solely their fault and they refuse to remove this inaccurate information from my credit report. I humbly request your assistance in resolving this matter.

Confusing or misleading advertising about the credit card
Complaint: My kohls charge minimum payment increase to {$75.00} From {$46.00} because I was late paying XXXX dollars that I wasnt aware of. I have not been receiving my emails telling me what i need to pay each month for a few months now, and because of this my account was - {$44.00} over a missing XXXX dollars. Kohls only reversed {$27.00} late fee, and does not want to change or even reimburse me the difference of the {$75.00}. Its not right because had I received that email telling me that my minimum payment was now {$48.00} instead of {$46.00} then I would never wouldve incurred a late fee and I never would have my minimum payment be {$75.00} right now. My email information is correct and Im not sure why I havent been receiving my statement I believe that Kohls should give me the difference back once I make the {$75.00} payment instead of trying to keep the whole {$75.00} because its not theirs.They told me that the bill is generated based off of my balance and interest as well as late fees and etc. so if its generated based off of that then my balance never wouldve been what it was had it not been for that late fee which in turn generating my bill to become {$75.00}

Complaint: I XXXX XXXX am a member of the XXXX Community. It is my belief that I am part of a minority that is easily targeted by collection agencies, or as in this particular case a debt buyer. But here is where the problem starts. A company by the name of XXXX XXXX XXXX claims that they are now collecting a debt on behalf of the current creditor known as XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX No. XXXX LLC. This company is a scam. There is no connection to ownership of the original credit card I had with Capital One. Simply because this agency send to me copies of credit card statements for the past 18-months does not prove that the original debt was actually purchased. Capital One is also part of the same scam. All of Capital One credit cards are securitized, and it makes no difference if my credit card limit is {$500.00} of {$500000.00}. The fact remains that there is no method on Capital One pulling this securitized debt obligation from a trust under the Securities and Exchange Commission Act. Therefore, I demand a full qualified request of the debt ownership. I demand this full inquiry on documentation immediately, and a cease and desist on all calls to any of my phone numbers, including any relative. Debt buyers are running the largest financial scam in America, and they are targeting minorities such as myself. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau must take this complaint seriously. This collection must be rescinded immediately and permanently!!!

Complaint: I have been paying on this debt of {$1700.00} since XX/XX/XXXX. I had a financial hardship and was unable to pay after making five payments of the verbal agreed amount {$140.00} and a sixth payment in the amount of {$100.00} which gave a total of {$800.00}. The firm filed in the courts and a stipulation was agreed upon to continue the payments as agreed only difference being this time it would be withdrawn via ACH. A stipulation was emailed to me, which I signed and sent electronically as agreed for amount of {$1700.00} and court cost of {$340.00} which would be a total of {$2000.00}. I've paid to date {$2000.00} and should only have a balance of {$21.00}. I went to check the account on their site today and saw an outstanding balance of {$960.00}, I immediately contact the firm via chat and was told to call in. I called and after holding for 20 minutes, I was told by the Rep that the reason for the balance shown was because I didn't signed the Stipulation. Complaint: A year ago I found a credit bureau listing from Capital One Bank ( USA ) stating I owed a debt. I disputed the debt and never received any further information. This account was opened by my ex wife after our divorce fraudulently in my name. I have no contact with my ex wife as she has not been in contact with me or our children for 4 years. She is delinquent on child support and we have no way of locating her. A law firm called me a year ago about this debt and I informed them I disputed the debt. I live in New Mexico, they had an address in Nebraska which I believed to belong to my ex wife. They, XXXX XXXX XXXX with XXXX XXXX XXXX in Minnesota, did not contact me again until this week when I received a letter forwarded to my New Mexico address from my ex in Nebraska saying that Capital One Bank ( USA ) has sued me in Nebraska and demanding a hearing in Nebraska in 2 days. I LIVE IN NEW MEXICO. I have no means to get to NEBRASKA to again dispute a debt I have previously disputed. I have researched XXXX XXXX and they have settled several CLASS ACTION lawsuits when suing people who did not owe the bill. At this point unless this is removed, I will have no choice but to retain the firm that won these Class Action Lawsuits against XXXX.

Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Complaint: Filed Dispute with Capital one for merchant XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/2019 asserting that merchant said at the time services were rendered that they were a participating member of the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and since the service date was saturday XX/XX/2019, they could not verify my coverage so they would have to charge to my credit card the full uninsured value of service and after verifying coverage on the next business day, merchant would refund the full amount on the credit card and send invoice for the copay.
Merchant never refunded the money and merchant filed insurance claim and was partially reimbursed.
Total charge from merchant was {$1300.00} and I filed dispute for {$900.00} which is the amount that merchant should have credited after insurance XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX disallowances and copay under their XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX contract.
Capital one sent letter on XX/XX/XXXX with incorrect city name ( XXXX ) when my city name is XXXX. Letter was received late on XX/XX/XXXX as a result and past the deadline to sent rebuttal.

Complaint: I have been trying to get this account removed from my credit report. I contacted the company 5 times and each time they sent me a letter stating the account was verified and true. This account was not authorized by me and I want it removed. I requested copies of a contract or any documentation with my signature and they can not produce it but will not remove it from my credit report resulting in a poor credit score. The name on the account is not even spelled the way I spell my name but they insist it is mine.

Complaint: This company has been calling my family members, work cell phone, leaving messages and telling family members they are trying to contact me. When i ask for a certified copy of any paperwork they say tthey will only email me they will not provide me a copy via certified mail. I have provided an updated phone number and they continue to contact family members even after speaking to me and will not stop. They claim it is for a credit card debt with capital one that was supposedly charged off in XX/XX/XXXX. I filed bankruptcy in XX/XX/XXXX and had no record of this debt on credit report. Additionally i have contacted capital one many times and they claim to have no record of the debt. I have asked numerous times for a mailing adress so i can send a cease and desist letter and they wont provide address. Lastly i have been hung up on and had them be extremely rude to me raising voice shouting telling me they arent there to remind me of debt and i need to pay my bills. The ammount they claim owed has changed 4 times since talking to them. I have multiple people who can verify this as they have been in the room with the collector on speaker phone.

Complaint: I have been contacted several times in the past days about making a payment after they have threatened to repossess the vehicle and make me responsible for the payments after repossession. I notified Capital One of hardship in my home due to unemployment for about a month in XX/XX/2017, but they refused to change the interest rate ( let alone show how it was calculated ) or lower the payments, so that I may be able to pay the full monthly amount. They repossessed the vehicle after I made a payment to the account. On a recorded line I was told they would not charge me the repossession fees because they were at fault. I was told that I needed to pay the complete late balance, but since the car was repossessed after the payment was made I didn't need to pay the full past due balance because they had already accepted my payment before repossession. The repossession fees were applied to my account as well as the late fees because I didn't know that the repossession fees were added to the account. After having to miss work a couple of days on my new job and find transportation to travel 45 minutes to reclaim MY car, I had to pay the tow company a fee also before I could get my car back. I notified Capital One of this matter and nothing was done. I was only told that I have to make full payment to bring to account back to current. I also was not allowed to make a payment on the principle balance because they insisted that I pay the late fees from the repossession. They have continuously notified the credit bureaus of late payment but my payments were behind because they didn't do what they promised they would. The original loan on the vehicle was {$21000.00}, but I have paid {$29000.00} to this day. This is more than enough considering they will not show how the interest is calculated.

Complaint: Numerous complaints have been filed in regard to a close out check sent to me which had a stop payment placed on it prematurely and a second replacement check which was intercepted, cashed by a third party while I was on vacation, away from home. The account in question was opened as a result of data breach as well as two credit accounts, all with Capital One. Prior to this, Capital One had my personal information as I've had accounts as far back as XXXX, the data breach exposed my personal information and these accounts were opened as a result. The first check was sent to me on XX/XX/XXXX, received on XX/XX/XXXX, I left for XXXX XXXX on the following morning, XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX. I received an email from XXXX showing a package from Capital One was sent to me on or around XX/XX/XXXX, delivered on XX/XX/XXXX I believe. I do not have UPS tracking info available to me. Capital One is more than aware of this information from prior complaints and attached files showing my whereabouts at time check was intercepted and cashed. They also have information pertaining to the person whom cashed the check, however, they will not address it or compare signatures on both checks. They choose to mark my complaints as duplicate when in fact they are not, this is to avoid addressing the information I've shown as far as whereabouts and person whom cashed check in my name. I request copies of three checks, first one sent on XX/XX/XXXX with a stop payment on it, second one intercepted and cashed by third party, third one sent covering overdraft fees due to stop payment.. A XXXX XXXX agreed to refund overdraft fees and sent a separate check covering them. I need copes of these checks for the attorney representing me in the data breach. I also need copies of statements from all three accounts, the check and two credit accounts which include a Mastercard and XXXX XXXX.

As such, Capital One was required to notify me by email if there were any past due amounts and they NEVER NOTIFIED ME OF ANYTHING. THEY DID HOWEVER NOTIFY THE CREDIT BRUEAUS OF A LATE PAYMENT, AND AS A RESULT, MY NEARLY PERFECT CREDIT SCORE OF 10+ YEARS HAS DROPPED 100 POINTS!!

Complaint: I have a very strong credit history, with a score in the 740-760 range. Further, I have a longstanding good relationship with Capital One ( no missed payments ). They denied me for a XXXX credit card today. By the information on their website, this card is available to people with good-excellent credit. Applicants can even have late payments on their credit and be approved. I have no late payments, nor collections, etc, and they denied me anyway. When I called to determine why, I got stuck in a loop of people who barely spoke XXXX, did whatever they could to get me off the phone and refused to provide additional information. It is my belief that Capital One has blacklisted me because I previously requested a change in the terms on my current card. They should re-review and approve my application for the XXXX card because I am deserving, both based on my credit history and relationship with them. There's no reason I shouldn't qualify for the Mastercard and even less of a reason I shouldn't qualify for the store-only version.
