Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 I was approved for a XXXX XXXX card through Capital One. I received my new card on about the XX/XX/2018 and I tried to activate it, I contacted Capital One and they told me to attempt to make a purchase, and if it wasnt working then to call their customer service line. On the XX/XX/XXXX I called their customer service line and I was informed by an automated system that a new card was currently being sent through the mail to my house. Confused, I messaged Capital One again and they told me to call their customer service line. Frustrated, I decided to just wait until my new card got to my house. On XX/XX/2018 I called their customer service line to ask why my card hasnt been delivered yet and told them about my situation. The man was confused why they said they were sending me a card, and was somehow able to activate my card. After that phone call I made a purchase of about {$60.00}. Sometime in the beginning of the month of XXXX, I tried to link my XXXX XXXX card to Capital One so I can make a payment, it wasnt working. I called them once again, and the man explained to me how to link it and what website to go to. I tried a great number of times over the next couple weeks hoping it was just the website crashing. I thought maybe it was the device I was using so I tried on my XXXX, laptop, and even a computer. Nothing was working so I called Capital One on about XX/XX/2018. They said they needed to send me a new card but they couldnt until I made a payment. I didnt have the time to get my bank account information right then and there, and I was frustrated because they wanted me to pay a late fee so I told the lady Id call again. I waited until I had more time to figure out the details, which was on XX/XX/2018 so I called and I paid everything off except the late fee. They told me they couldnt waive my fee because they already had the month earlier for the same exact reason, the supervisor understood and was empathetic but she explained that she didnt have the authorization to waive fee. I have never had a late payment on my credit report. This is the only problem Ive ever had with a missed payment, and it was because there was a whole lot of miscommunication and confusion.

Complaint: I had a defaulted credit card obligation that I owed to Capital One Bank. They filed suit against me in the Magistrate Court of XXXX County, Georgia. A judgment was entered against me for $XXXX, on or about XX/XX/XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX, I began the process of re-financing my mortgage with a HARP loan. I was told that I would have to satisfy the outstanding judgment lien to Capital One Bank before the re-financing could be completed. I contacted the law firm representing Capital One Bank, XXXX XXXX XXXX, in early XX/XX/XXXX. We reached a settlement amount of $XXXX to resolve the debt. I spoke with attorney XXXX XXXX. I mailed certified funds for $XXXX(cashiers check) to XXXX XXXX of XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. They received the funds and they dismissed the lawsuit/judgment on XX/XX/XXXX. They then filed a Satisfaction of Judgment in the Magistrate Court of XXXX County on XX/XX/XXXX. Then, on XX/XX/XXXX, I received a copy of a garnishment action filed by XXXX XXXX XXXX, against me the exact same debt described above even though the debt had been paid in full and satisfied over a month earlier. My employer had been served with the garnishment and withheld 25% of my pay plus fees. A total of $XXXX was taken from my paycheck.OnXX/XX/XXXX, I immediately called XXXX XXXX XXXX to see what was going on. I left messages for both XXXX XXXX and his assistant, and never received a call-back. On Monday, XX/XX/XXXX, I again left messages for XXXX and never received a call-back.This debt-collection attorney firm resolved the debt I owed and received my funds, YET THEY CONTINUED TO PURSUE A GARNISHMENT ACTION AGAINST ME FOR THE VERY SAME DEBT CAUSING ME TO LOSE 25% OF MY CHECK. AS A RESULT, I HAD THREE CHECKS RETURNED FOR INSUFFICIENT FUNDS AND WAS CHARGED FEES IN EXCESS OF $XXXX. THE LAW FIRM REFUSES TO CALL BE BACK AND RESOLVE THE MESS THEY CAUSED.They have violated the FDCA by collecting on a debt they KNEW WAS SATISFIED. Complaint: My XXXX XXXX XXXX with XXXX XXXX XXXX was transferred to Capital One with no clear notice it was changing banks. The letter indicated new account could be set up after XX/XX/XXXX however I didnt receive new card until XXXX & could not access online system at all because they entered my Birthday wrong. Payment in new system was due on XXXX but I never received card or bill to pay from for new account. Bank charges fee & told me even once Birthday corrected couldnt access online for 72 hours. I am one of many transferred & they only allowed 7 days from the time new system was active until payment due. If any errors in transfer this delayed set up additional 3 days & you must set up payment 2 days ahead of time so they did this in a way that guaranteed fees to most customers in the conversion. The bill due in XXXX was from XXXX XXXX XXXX not Capital One so how would you know the payment should be sent to Capital One. Statement even had old account numbers not new ones.

Complaint: In late XX/XX/XXXX/early XX/XX/XXXX I applied for a Kohl 's charge card, I got approved for a {$300.00} dollar credit line. I used it the same day online, and paid it off shortly after. When I paid it off I had noticed that I actually had never recieved my card in the mail. I called to inquire about the card, and to make the payment. The guy told me that it takes 4-6 weeks for the card to get there, and that it should be in my mail in a few days. 2 weeks later it is still not here. I called to find out and the lady woudl not stop telling me that they can not access my account right now, I had to tell her to stop talking as she was talkign over me repeating the same script time and time again. I told her that I need to close my account, a nd she told me that they were inable to do that. This credit card has been awful! I got dinged on my credit report when I opened it, I have yet to receive it, and now I am goign to get dinged for closing it. I want this credit card wiped from my credit history, as it is clear that even though I have made good faith online buys, and paid my bill in full and on time, this company does not want to do business with me.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I logged in online to make a payment to both my credit card accounts with Capital One. My wife had the funds in her savings account to pay for the currents balances on the cards, she didn't realize there were limitations with making payments from her Savings Account. I received an e-mail on the XXXX stating the payments were returned as soon as the balance posted back to the account I resubmitted the payments again from a checking account which we had transferred the funds to. We watched the payments closely to ensure they took. The payments posted on the my credit card accounts on the XX/XX/XXXX drafting from the checking account on the the XX/XX/XXXX. I had verified Funds had drafted and figured there would be no other issues except maybe return check on my next statement. Then today XX/XX/2018 to get notification from one of the businesses we make purchases through that our charge was declined and that we are in jeopardy of losing our product. As well as, to to get notification from credit karma today XX/XX/2018 that both my accounts were closed, but was never notified by capital one that my accounts would be closed due to a return check. The first two times ( today XX/XX/2018 ) I called and I was hung up on by each representative, to call again a third time time today ( XX/XX/2018 ) and ask to speak with a manager. The manager XXXX, explained that she could only put in a request for one of the accounts to be reopened due to one being a secured card. Which I kindly disagree with, because I was never informed the accounts were in jeopardy of being closed. To avoid delaying the call any longer I accepted this answer, because my main credit card with the higher limit was going to be requested to be reopened. To be informed it is not a guarantee it will be reopened and the process would take 7-10 business days. Then I asked the manager XXXX if she was able to put in an expedited request because I was not informed by any form of communication ( cell phone, e-mail, text, mail etc. ) that my account was in jeopardy of being closed, because I had been following the matter diligently to make sure no other steps or measures were needed to resolve this issue. XXXX then followed up with saying that the account was closed on XX/XX/2018 and she could do an expedited request, but more likely it won't happen because they're backlogged 30 days on the reopen requests.I then stated I would very much like an expedited request put in because I was never notified. That's when XXXX responded with " to be honest our company would answer that the closing of my accounts falls on me because I wasn't financially responsible and staying on top of my account status, by not logging in every day etc. '' ( If you notice above in this complaint I told you I follow this matter diligently to ensure the issue was resolved and received NO COMMUNICATION that my accounts were in danger of being closed ) At this point I asked to speak with a manager higher than her and she said she is the highest form of management I could speak to over the phone, I then asked if there was a presidential department or any other department higher that I could talk to and was informed by XXXX if I wanted a response from anyone higher than her that I would have to write in and was provided two addresses XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Utah XXXX And XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX VA XXXX Attn XXXX And I find this highly unacceptable to have to handle this matter by mail when it should be deemed more urgent.

Opon learning of this in XX/XX/XXXX or XX/XX/XXXX, I called XXXX XXXX to report that this debt has been paid as per a settlement with XXXX XXXX, now XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX I moved in XX/XX/XXXX from XXXX to XXXX and I never received a final letter from XXXX XXXX showing that the settlement had been fulfilled however I did have other documents showing that I had made an agreement and that I had fulfilled those terms. I was told to contact Capital One the original creditor for resolution. I did and sent all supporting documents. They claimed this wasn't sufficient and I proceeded to contacted XXXX XXXX several times to resolve this. repeatedly being left on hold for long amounts of time, being told I would be sent a letter, never to receive anything, finally today XX/XX/XXXX I spoke with XXXX who was formerly XXXX XXXX and requested again a letter showing I had paid this debt and requesting that they report this accurately to Capital One and the credit agencies, they took my request and stated I would receive the letter in 30 days but could doing nothing else. Isn't this their responsibility to report accurately?

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I paid off the stated balances on their website for my three credit cards with Capital One. The due date for payment was XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I was charged additional interest on all three accounts. Specifically, I paid {$2800.00} on XX/XX/XXXX and was charged {$37.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. I paid {$3400.00} on XX/XX/XXXX and was charged {$57.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. I paid {$1300.00} on XX/XX/XXXX and was charged {$21.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. I called on XX/XX/XXXX to customer service to ask why I was charged interest on a balance already paid and got some lame explanation which basically amounted to " that's the way they do things here ''. I asked to speak to a manager who basically said it was my fault for not calling them for a pay off so they could calculate the remaining interest. I asked her if that instruction was on the website and she said " no ''. I asked her if there was instruction on the statement and she said : " probably on the back '' then I informed her I could not know that because I do not get paper statements. I asked her if she thought it was fair to charge interest on something you already paid off and she said " it's our policy '' and when I asked her why the website does not reflect to the XXXX what is owed [ including interest ] in the " current balance '' box she said " that is something we are trying to correct ''. Please help! I have paid so much money to be debt free and now they do this!

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, 2 separate charges of {$10000.00} each for a deposit on a {>= $1,000,000} mentorship program were put on my Capital One Credit Card. Due to the policies of Capital One the deposit of {$20000.00} were broken up in 2 payments of {$10000.00} each. The original mentorship program was designed for a 2 week training with the owner of the company. After committing to the program the owner changed the contract to a 5 day training program for a total of 6 session with a 3 month period in between each session. This would put the program an 18 month schedule and out to XX/XX/XXXX with an option of one additional session if I had to miss a scheduled session. XX/XX/XXXX, the FTC shut down the company and froze all bank accounts. As a result, not only was I able to finish the program but not able to get a refund on my investment. In XX/XX/XXXX, I began working with Capital One to get reimbursed for the charges on my cc. I was given a credit along with the interest that had accrued. On XX/XX/XXXX I filled out and returned the papers Capital One sent me including the front page of the Receiver 's Report. ( I was told it was not necessary to send the 58 page document ). On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter from Capital One stating they were recharging my cc. I have not been able to speak with XXXX who is handling my case as she has not returned my calls. The case # is XXXX. In my last correspondence with Capital One I included Regulation Z Federal Law of the Truth in Lending Act. I feel Capital One and XXXX are ignoring me and the law.

Complaint: My identity was stolen after the XXXX Data Breach in XX/XX/XXXX. I discovered this in XX/XX/XXXX when 8 separate accounts were opened with XXXX, XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX and XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX, XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX investigated and found that the accounts were fraudulent and they were all removed from my credit report. XXXX removed the account after I told them I would file federal suit against them if they did not but still assigned the debt to a collections agency. XXXX, reinserted the fraudulent account under a separate account number and will not remove the identity theft item from my report. XXXX removed the account from my credit reports. XXXX removed the account from my credit reports but still assigned the debt for collections to an outside third party. A separate collections account from XXXX XXXX XXXX is listed on my credit reports as having a balance of over {$11000.00} for an alleged account I had with Capital One. I never had an account with Capital One that was opened in XX/XX/XXXX which they allege using an address of XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, NY XXXX. The XXXX XXXX XXXX account is a result of identity theft and they refuse to remove the account from my credit reports EVEN though I filed six separate supporting police reports along with a formal ID Theft Affidavit with the credit bureaus and XXXX XXXX XXXX. A discover account was opened in my name in XX/XX/XXXX that is a result of identity theft. XXXX is refusing to remove the ID Theft account from XXXX, XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX EVEN THOUGH they have been furnished with 3 separate FTC ID Theft affidavits with six supporting police reports and verification of my identity. XXXX is refusing to remove the XXXX XXXX XXXX identity theft account as well. Somebody also applied for credit in my name from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX on my XXXX report where I could not qualify to even be a member because I have never worked for the federal government
