Complaint: I went to Capital One on XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, TX XXXX on XX/XX/2019. I let a teller know that I was interested in opening a business line of credit. I was informed that XXXX XXXX would come assist me. Upon meeting XXXX, he refused to shake my hand. At his desk, he asked what he could help me with. I stated that I wanted information on how to open a business line of credit. He asked me " Do you even have a business? ". I said yes. He asked what paperwork do I have. As I went through my document holder, he snatched a paper out of it and said " Here it is ''. He then goes to his email and reads off to me I am not eligible for a business line of credit because I did not have an account with Capital One for 3 months with $ XXXX in it. He said this was a new policy. No paperwork was given. XXXX then tells me " I just don't want you to waste your time. '' I took his card and then left. I immediately went to a Capital One in another part of town and received assistance and opened a business account.

Complaint: This is my second CFPB complaint to Capital One, I filed a previous complaint last month which I have not got any response still. When I contacted Capital One they stated that I need to verify my Social Security Number and send me a SSN form to fill out which I returned to them, they also asked I send in a copy of my driver 's license and SSN card which I did last week. Now there asking for bank statement, which am not comfortable sending my private information in my bank statement. I had this account for years and now Capital One put a restriction on the account and asking for all this without letting me know why there requesting this information.

Complaint: XX/XX/19 On XX/XX/19, I wrote a check to Capital One for {$300.00}. Capital One took {$3000.00} unauthorized. I discovered the problem on XX/XX/19 and called the company, as well as alerted my bank. Capital One takes the money electronically, so the bank did not have a copy of the check. A Capital One representative told me that they could see the check written for {$300.00} on their computer. I applied for the check in written to XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/19, copy provided in this complaint. Shortly after that the {$3000.00} appeared on my XXXX statement. This placement of the money was also unauthorized. If I withdraw the money from the account, I will have to pay fees on my own money. In short, I feel this is a scam to get more interest fees. Usually, money is returned to the checking account, from what I was told. To date, no check or money has been returned to me. I have asked for the money to be returned on numerous occasions. Also, I was told each time I called that it would take another 10 days, they are so back lodged. On XX/XX/19, told it would be another 4 weeks. I can not seem to get anyone to help me get my money {$2700.00} back ( minus the intended {$300.00} ). I have included a time and person document in added files section.

Complaint: Account was delinquent. I contacted capital and set up payment arrangements to make this current-They were taking the money monthly for the payment arrangements. These began on XX/XX/XXXX in the amount of {$680.00} these payments went on until XX/XX/XXXX which made the account current. During this time my account was still being reported with no payment when in fact they were not. So now I am trying to get a mortgage on a home and this is really affecting my credit score and my ability to get this taken care of. I aided by the payment set for me and they are not willing to work with me.

Complaint: XXXX continues to report my personal identifying information incorrectly and refuses to correct it, despite my repeated requests. More specifically, XXXX is reporting my social security number incorrectly. I have been trying to correct this error with XXXX for more than a year, to no avail. I have sent XXXX a copy of my birth certificate, social security card, proof of address, and drivers license to identify myself however XXXX continues to send the same letter indicating that they will not correct the information due to reporting from Capital One. I then reached out to Capital One regarding the trade line they are reporting on my credit profiles. Capital One continues to indicate that they are not reporting the incorrect information that XXXX alleges and they do not understand why XXXX is reporting the information incorrectly. XXXX is the only CRA reporting my social security number incorrectly. Both XXXX and XXXX have my social security number listed correctly ( see attached ). XXXX is out of compliance with the law. Its willful noncompliance has been a major financial hardship in my life as I have been denied lines of credit, housing, insurance, and other consumer products due to the unmatched social security number. XXXX refuses to complete a real investigation and properly verify my personal information as required under FCRA. They have sent the same letter in response to my request for correction on two separate occasions ( first on XX/XX/XXXX and again on XX/XX/XXXX ). I have continued to call Capital One, to no avail. They report that they have not provided the incorrect social security number that XXXX is reporting.

If CAPITAL ONE have all of these technologies to verify someone identities than they need to do so prior to allowing someone to get approved and allow them to submit money into the accounts just for them to hold people money is wrong. They stated they wanted me to contact the SSA to verify my ssn. They asked questions regarding me, they sent codes to my phone to verify me to still tell me Im not who I say I am and just hung up. I have XXXX thats is being held. I asked them to release my funds and close my account The continuous treatment this company display is horrible and due too that I no longer want to hold an account with this company I want them to release my funds immediately

Complaint: I have a Visa with Capital One that had fraudulent charges on, which they took care of. They closed the account and issued a new card. When I received the new card, I put it in my safe and did not activate it. I started receiving phone calls from Capital One telling me that my account was delinquent on a card that I had not activated and had no previous balance. I looked online at the 'charges ' and the same fraudulent charges were being applied to my new, inactive card. Once again, Capital One reversed the charges, closed the account, and issued a new card. They also said that they would block any and all transactions from the companies that were charging my card with fraudulent charges. I received the new card and once again, it is being charged by those same companies for services I have never used nor authorized. Those companies are XXXX XXXX and XXXX. I want to know how an account that has never been activated can have charges on it and how is my account information being shared? I am the only person with access to that card and have not given it to anyone. The fraud has to be initiating inside Capital One. I want answers. There is no reason those charges, which amounted to THOUSANDS of dollars should have ever been allowed on my account.
