Account status incorrect
Complaint: Bureau name Capital one bank USA I payed all the amount but they still reporting that my account is derogatory.it damaged my credit score a lot, last payment was XX/XX/2019.
So I called them they said they will report that o Finish all payment, but no action was taken.
Also other accounts were paid and Closed but the negative still effecting my Credit score.
I had 2 XXXX within the last 3 years and I lost my job and I did my best to pay off all my debt. But those companies the sold my accounts to collection companies and they were after me every single day, harassing me With Calls.
I really need your help and I appreciate your up.

Problem with customer service
Complaint: I just needed to change my address. The bill says to call customer service or go online to change it. I called the number on the statement, XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. I was required to listen to 5 minutes of automated advertisements asking me if I had a cell phone provider, TV provider, and a host of other topics requiring me to answer yes or know by hitting a number or pound. I finally got to a recording that says I can hold for a representative. The recording then immediately went into asking me cell phone questions if I have one yes or no. I didn't answer so it disconnected the call. How can I reach customer service?
I then went to the website. I tried the forgot password link and it would not go on without my social security number. I don't want to enter than on the internet. Then, I tried to set up another account and it again requires a social security number and date of birth. I already have a card. These excessive processes put my identity at risk. I still can not reach customer service to change my address and have lost confidence in this company. It all feels like an advertising scam.

Complaint: Step 1 : What is this complaint about? Being financially responsible for a fake check of another entity.
This complaint is about me, the bank customer in good standing for over 10 years, having been deemed fully responsible financially, for a fake check ( mobile deposit, XX/XX/2019 for the amount of XXXX ). This was payment from a XXXX XXXX job that I was hired for. It was from XXXX XXXX Bank. This check that I received as payment for the work I did the previous week, I deposited via mobile app. Just to make sure that the check was good, I called the customer service call center of Capitol One 360. I was told by the bank customer service call center agents, was good and that funds were available for withdrawal upon on the date of XX/XX/2019 as well as from the call I made on XX/XX/2019. On my initial telephone call, I made it a point to voice my concern about this check possibly not being real. I HAVE done work for XXXX XXXX before, and all turned out well in the past, however, I was aware that not all these XXXX XXXX jobs are real. I was also advised by another customer service call center person to take a picture of the check and to e-mail the picture of the check to their fraud department, which I did. I never heard back from anyone of that department nor any other department of Capitol One 360 Bank. Thus, I was under the solid impression that the check was good, and that I was free to draw upon it, as I was told.
Step 2 : What type of problem are you having? My bank account is permanently closed, I had to open a new bank account elsewhere, and I am being charged the money, plus interest from Capitol One 360. This has costed me money and much trouble with my bills.
As it turned out, on XX/XX/2019, the check for the amount of {$2800.00} REVERSED. Capitol One 360 CLOSED my bank account and is now charging ME for the money loss from that check that I was told was good to withdraw upon! I had been a good customer for 10 years with Capitol One 360. They should NOT have told me that the check was good after I submitted an inquiry to them! I was NEVER gotten back to on any of it. I have called and called the Customer Service Department of Capitol One only to be put on hold or transferred to voice mail. I was told that I could not talk to anyone in the department team who could help me. I was told to leave a voice mail message. I have left whatever department that IS, several voice messages, with NO response back whatsoever.
Step 3 : What happened? Capitol One 360 reported me to the credit bureau as negative and caused my credit score to drop in its number. I can no longer bank with Capitol One 360, and they basically made ME the responsible party instead of going after the entity that was the fraudulent culprit. This is even though I contacted Capitol One 360 before the check reversed, making sure that the check was real. I was told that it was and that the funds are available. I even gave it time to clear just in case it was not. It is my belief that instead of taking this out on me, the consumer with good standing, to go after the actual party who issued the check to begin with! I want my bank account re-instated and any negative credit reporting made against me by Capitol One 60 REVERSED.

Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX my Comcast phone stopped working. On XX/XX/XXXX I found out my phone number was stolen ( ported to different carrier ) and my Capital One MasterCard was stolen. Someone had managed to call them ( using stolen phone number ) and get them to send a new card to their address. This is a card that I have not used in over a year and sits in a locked box in my house ( it is still there ).
Capital One called me about attempted fraud, but will not fix the issue until I prove my idenity. The only acceptible way for them is for me to send them scanned copies of my drivers license. While I understand their need to verify my identity, I am not comfortable sending them copies of my document, since they already have a data breach by sending my card to someone other than me and I therefore do not trust their security. I attempted with many phone calls to negotiate any other way to prove my identity ( go to a physical Capital one branch and show my ID, go to the sherriff, federal agency or similar and do the same thing ) and they refuse.

Problem with customer service
Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX, I applied online for a Capital One QuickSilver Credit Card. Being an existing Capital One Bank customer, I was approved within minutes.
I received the card on XX/XX/2019, and began using it almost immediately.
On XX/XX/XXXX - less than one week after I received the card - I received a call from XXXX XXXX at the Capital One Fraud Department, informing me that my account is being frozen until the company can review my tax transcripts. In order for this to happen, she informed me, it would be necessary for me to fill out a copy of IRS form 4506-T, which she would send me via email.
Within minutes of our conversation, I received an email from Ms XXXX with a link attached for a XXXX version of that form.
I was, unfortunately, impossible for me to fill out the form that I was sent. My wife and I file taxes jointly, with her name appearing first. In that situation, the IRS requires that my wife 's name be written on line 1a, and mine on line 2a of the form. In the XXXX version of the form that I was sent, line 2a was blocked out, and could not be filled.
I immediately called Capital One to request a new copy of the form. My request was not honored.
Since then, I have called the Capital One Fraud Department at their published phone number no less than 6 times - twice on XX/XX/XXXX, on XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, and twice on XX/XX/XXXX. I have spoken with 6 representatives, including two managers, XXXX and XXXX. I have spent close to 3 hours on the phone with their agents. On each occasion, I was told that my issue can only be resolved by the case owner - that is, Ms XXXX. Only she has the power to send me a new copy of that form.
Each time, the representatives I spoke with promised to forward my request to her, but I have since received no response.
On XX/XX/XXXX, I was promised that I would receive a new form via email by the close of that business day, but that email never materialized.
I made several requests to speak with the case owner directly, but was first told she was unavailable, and later told that she does not ever accept phone calls.
I have also made several attempts to contact Ms XXXX directly by email, and have received no response from her.
All I need is for Capital One to resend me IRS form 4506-T for joint filers. I believe my request is quite simple and straightforward, and do not understand why they can not send me said form. Why is this a weeks-long process involving hours of my time spent on the phone?
If you could arrange for Capital One to deal with this issue and send me the form in an expedited fashion, so that I can get my account unfrozen ( defrosted? ), it would be greatly appreciated.

Account information incorrect
Complaint: The credit card company Capital One is not updating nor removing negative inaccurate information back from XX/XX/2015. My balance for this card was paid in full on this date but is still damaging my personal credit score has I have reviewed from the credit bureaus.
I have filed formal inquiries with Capital One and the three major credit bureaus. Providing all documented support that was requested showing my personal bank statement, cleared check for final balance payoff and letters from the law firm XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, that Capital One retained again showing proof that this has been paid in full since XX/XX/XXXX of 2015.
Again I feel Capital One is liable and continues not to be cooperative in fixing this very important personal matter.
Any help that your department can provide will be much appreciated.

Complaint: I made an online purchase on XX/XX/XXXX that as delivered to me. I then returned the items on XX/XX/XXXX and purchased other items. I did not get the correct credit and THEN on XX/XX/XXXX someone used my card to make additional purchases that I did not authorize on XX/XX/XXXX. Complaint: I have a Capital One Venture Card, provided by Capital One. My billing cycle usually ends on the XXXX and I usually get an email on the XXXX notifying me that my credit card statement is available. This past XXXX, I did not receive that email. The only reason I was able to pay my credit card ( CC ) bill on time was because I have an automatic alert that reminds me when my bill is due in 7 days. I believe that this is a glitch in their system that has the potential to affect all of their customers, thereby imposing unwarranted late fees on many people. This is also in violation of the Paperless Agreement that customers have signed. Customers should always be notified when their CC statement is ready.

Complaint: I received a alert that a hard inquiry had been made two credit bureaus without my knowledge ( authorization ) on XX/XX/2019.
I was notified via email by XXXX XXXX on Friday, XX/XX/2019 at XXXX XXXXXXXXXXXX. ( CST ) of the unauthorized hard inquiry from Capitol One USA.
I contacted XXXX and XXXX and was advised to contact Capitol One directly, since the inquiry was initiated from their office. I contacted Capitol One and spoke with a representative, XXXX ID # XXXX. XXXX apologized and advised me to mail in a letter requesting Capitol One to remove the inquiry.
I sent Capitol One a certified " letter of deletion to have the possible fraudulent inquiry investigated and removed from the credit bureaus.
I received a letter from Capitol One dated XX/XX/2019 ( Case # XXXX ). The letter didn't address my request regarding the " hard inquiry, '' but rather provided me with general information regarding three types of " soft '' inquiries. The letter further gave me instructions of what to do if I didn't want future prescreened inquires.
Because the unauthorized " hard inquiry '' was not addressed in the response, I contacted Capitol One again and spoke with supervisor, XXXX ID # XXXX, in reference to my complaint. XXXX advised me my case ( # XXXX ) was reviewed, deemed as a valid inquiry and closed. I asked XXXX how could the hard inquiry be a valid inquiry without my consent. I further explained I'm aware soft inquiries happen, as their response already stated.
XXXX further explained although she understood, Capitol One deemed the inquiry valid. XXXX stated I'd have to contact the credit bureaus separately if I wished to further dispute the hard inquiry.
I shared with XXXX XXXX, as well as XXXX sent me correspondence stating I'd have to contact Capitol One regarding having the hard inquiry removed.
XXXX kindly apologized, but advised me again Capitol One deemed the inquiry a valid request, and therefore wouldn't investigate the matter further.
I asked XXXX was there anyone else I could speak with regarding this matter, as this hard inquiry did have a negative effect on my credit score. I also shared with her the XXXX and XXXX advised me to take this matter up with Capitol One.
XXXX again apologized but stated the case was closed.
I expressed to XXXX my disappointment in the entire process, and in the lack of integrity Capitol One has given this possibly fraudulent matter.
My only request was to further investigate, and send a letter to request the " hard '' inquiry be removed.
It seems as if the credit bureaus, and Capitol One forwarded a " general '' letter without consideration possible the fraudulent activity.
There has to be a better way to direct consumers in such cases. I've been on this merry-go-round since XX/XX/2019, and no one can still give me a clear answer on who's to remove the inquiry.
