Although I made an error with her social security number, they have failed repeatedly to correct, or return my money. the office claim that we should call XXXX whoever he is would help was not true they did nothing but ask us to call if it was still a problem.. We have verified all information repeatedly. we have complained in writing over 16 times. Spending hours on the phone with no verification of conversation.they refuse or are incapable of resolving and refuse to close the account and make funds available or transfer to our joint account.

Complaint: I have opened a CapitalOne 360 account. For a couple of months I did monthly transfers using XXXX using my CapitalOne account. After a few months later, all of a sudden I was asked to verify my phone number by them texting me a code. Since I am a CapitalOne credit card holder for nearly ( or over 10 years ) I wasn't sure what is the point to verifying my number when they have it on file. However, they could not verify my number stating that it's either a VoIP number, a non-US number, is not registered to my name, the billing address is not what they expected, or the number is billed to someone else. I have also encountered the same problem when I am trying to add someone as a joint account holder. They are unable to verify my phone. I have the phone number registered to my name for over 7 years. This is my only mobile number and this is my first mobile number. I have never created, used, or owned any other mobile number or SIM card. The person I was trying setup a joint account with has the exact same problem. Has the mobile number from the same major US carrier for over 10 years, but that person 's phone number can not be verified either. Every time I talk to an agent, they give me the run around and they each tell a different story. I have contacted my phone carrier. There is no block of any kind on my phone, is able to send and receive text messages. We both live at the same residential address and have the mortgage and house on both of us ' name for 11 years. I have been trying to resolve this issue for a week, but the last time I contacted CapitalOne the agent told me that the number has to " settle '' which could take a few months. Seriously!? Settle? A few months!? What is that, a newly constructed house? Why was I able to do XXXX transfers in the past couple of months without any issues or verifying my phone number and all of a sudden I am not? Both of us has a joint CapitalOne credit card for over 7 years so they know we are linked. They have all the information they need that is years old and haven't changed since. Yet they are giving the run around with different story each time I call. The number has to " settle '', the phone might be " blocked '', the carrier is at fault, etc, etc, etc. I find this unacceptable that a banking system in 2019 would be so messed up. At the very basic level, CapitalOne should disclose what verification they use for the mobile phone ; with which 3rd party company ; and what ( if any ) requirement they need in order to verify mobile numbers. If they have a problem with any of us ' mobile number, they should disclose it in detail what the issue is so that it can be rectified and not treat it as a secret. Reading online sources, some people say that prepaid or pay-as-you-go phones are not " qualified '' for banking purposes because there are no SSN associated with them. But these are unconfirmed guesses from the general public. However, even if this would be the case, I would also find it unacceptable that one has to purchase a $ 70+ monthly postpaid subscription in order to conduct basic banking online services such as money transfers and creating a joint account. CapitalOne has no branch in the state where we live so it is not possible to walk into a branch personally and present a driver 's license. As more and more people turn to and use online services including banking, online/paperless accounts for paying bills, loans, and everything in-between, banks should disclose the exact requirement needed for phone number verification and not leave customers in a limbo state not knowing why and where the error is. Customer support agents should not have their own " story '' of why this happens. Banks should know and provide customers the exact reason errors happen so customers can take steps, if necessary to correct them. Just like if there's an error in someone's credit report, this can be remedied ( hopefully ) by contacting the credit reporting agency. However, when banks give nonsense information and are not willing to disclose the third party they use for verification so customers don't even have a chance to find out why the problem exist and take corrective action, frankly, I would not call this acceptable in 2019.

Complaint: This account was included in bankruptcy in 2017 and was also paid off. There were no late payments on this account which is being reported. I requested in writing the that they provide specific information pertaining to this account. The only response I received was from the credit reporting agencies stating that all information has been verified. I'm requesting that the late payments and negative items be removed from my report. These credit reporting agencies continue to fail on fallow the proper procedures and fallowing though with there disputes that we send in. This affects all those that obtain credit, good or bad. This shows incompetence and is unfair to all consumers. These credit reporting agencies should be held accountable for there actions.

Complaint: These people are monsters! Blocked me from being able to email them documentation and their requested information via their secure links so that I can not state my case for my disputes, which means I automatically lose! Called Capital One three times and spent 2 and a half hours in total over this and got NOWHERE!!! Just 2 and a half hours of my life I'll never get back and a boatload of aggravation!! Two agents shifting the blame on me stating I need to try using a different device or browser.. Third agent after the third time I called, admitted they actually put a block on my account which prevents me from being able to submit documentation via their links!!! These people are nothing but a bunch of shady characters who treat their customers like garbage and the Federal Reserve should shut them down! If they're not going to take the block off then they need to automatically award my disputes in my favor!! If I mail in my documentation, based on what they did with my account, they're just going to lie and say they never received anything! With emailing it, you get a confirmation it was received along with a reference number. Mailing it gives you nothing. I would have to send it via certified mail, and I'm not going to A -- be inconvenienced by having to drive out of my way to the post office, and B -- pay to send out mail all because Capital One wanted to play these wretched and despicable games!

Complaint: Capital One refuses to resolve my dispute against a charge against XXXX for {$59.00} on XX/XX/19, which I've worked very hard with them to answer all their questions to the best of my ability. Due to the nature of my dispute, I was unable to provide physical documentation -- as the reason for my dispute was based on a conversation over the phone with the merchant 's Customer Service, and Capital One re-billed me for the full amount on XX/XX/XXXX. Last time I spoke with them regarding this matter, I asked if they do not believe me, and they said it's not a matter of whether or not they believe me. They need to follow the guidelines of MasterCard ... All the agents must be trained to say this because I have heard about 10 different agents say this within the last 5 months. That is a bold-faced LIE. I have called MasterCard and told them they Capital One is saying this about them, and they stated that is false information -- That Capital One is their own company and they have their own policy -- And that MasterCard has NOTHING to do with their decision making process ... Capital One just doesn't want to resolve their customers ' disputes unless they're about unauthorized charges. They should not even have the option to dispute charges that were authorized if they're never even going to be in their own customers ' favor ... My experience with Capital One over the last 8 months has been nothing more than unpleasant, time-consuming, and absurd ... The Federal Reserve should put them out of business, because they need to be stopped and no one 's doing anything about it. Are roughly a thousand complaints a day not enough??

Complaint: My financial institution, Capital One, has repeatedly and recklessly been engaged in mishandling my money by disregarding my complaints about unauthorised and disputed transactions. Thus, Capital One is holding my money at the expense of the third part merchants engaging into aggressive behavior in accessing my bank account even after ending services/products with the merchants, and or merchants charging for services/products they do not provide. XX/XX/2019 Capital One awarded XXXX {$130.00} for services I no longer subscribe since XX/XX/2019 XXXX ( Claim # XXXX for my account ending in XXXX ). While I provided proof that I was no longer subscribing for the service, they awarded the merchant my money with false supporting documents they later sent to me after many followups and complaints ( see the supporting documents ). XX/XX/2019 again, Capital One paid/holding {$710.00} ( Claim # XXXX for my account ending in XXXX ) that I never allowed the merchant, XXXX XXXX XXXX to withdraw from my account, hence causing a tremendous chain of insufficient funds for other scheduled transactions. Both Capital One and the Merchants knew in advance by phone and writing about the ending/termination of the services/products they were providing me. However, Capital One mismanaged my money instead of safeguarding my money. Two incidents in one month are too much to ignore or to think Capital One has been operating in the interests of their customers. When I entrusted Capital One with my finances, I believed they will work on behalf of my interest, which has not been the case most of the time. ( see the supporting documents ). Complaint: I have a loan with CAPITAL ONE BANK USA N. I have always made my payments on time. For some reason, I realized that there was a late payment on my credit report. As you can see, I have always had a stellar payment record with this company. I tried contacting both XXXX, XXXX, XXXX and CAPITAL ONE BANK USA N with no successful resolution. XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX only reporting me late. There was definitely an error on their part. I was never 30 days late XX/XX/2018.
