Complaint: On XX/XX/2019 Capital One ask me to call them for a potential fraud on 2 of my credit accounts. I called and they wanted me to upload documents such as ( signed social security card & front and back of ID or drivers license ) to verify my authorized users that I had on my account previously and currently. I sent them 90 % of all the authorized users info but however I could not obtain the other Authorized users information because they would not send it to me. My issue is that this does not say this is required and that I have to provided this on the " Terms and Conditions '', this is a privacy issue and they were just under a cyber attack which was on the news in XX/XX/2019. They have restricted both of my cards but have not provided me with a reason and said it was not a fraudulent transaction. I was advised that it would be restricted until I send the documents for every single person that was on the accounts. I provided proof of their Authorized user terms on page 4 of the document I uploaded.

Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Complaint: We took our car to what turned out to be an incompetent mechanic. They had the car for two months and everything that they touched they broke. A car that we had previously been able to drive to XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX, Ohio now has to be towed out of their shop. They refused to give us our car keys unless we paid after a lot of arguing. They forced us into it. They car required thousands of dollars of repairs after this shop. I have been trying since XX/XX/2018 to get our {$3900.00} back from Capital One. It has been a horrible experience and I have spent 50 hours on the phone with them trying to get money back that we clearly swindled out of. I have submitted a second opinion and 14 pages of documentation. Capital One has passed me around, given me incorrect information about there being two disputes open and one employee that had our case for three months and did nothing. Please HELP us. Capital One has made this process appalling. We just want our {$3900.00} back that we were cheated out of. Please reverse the charge! Thank you!

Complaint: My husband and I tried to get preapproved for a mortgage loan, but were denied because of information on our XXXX credit reports. We requested our XXXX reports. When I got mine, I noticed a lot of errors. 53 hard inquiries that I did not authorize. I also noticed some accounts that were not mine that I had not authorized. I have been the victim of identity theft several times, due to my personal information being compromised in 16 data breaches, in the past. So, I suspect that the same thing is happening, again.
On XX/XX/2019, I tried to dispute the errors and hard inquiries that I did not authorize online on the XXXX web site. The web site would not allow me to dispute anything and instead listed a number for me to call. I called the XXXX phone number provided and explained to the customer service rep that I am the victim of identity theft and that I needed to dispute the hard inquiries and accounts that I did not authorize. The rep refused to help me saying I had to contact the companies directly. I already have. The companies told me to call XXXX and dispute with them. I tried again to dispute the inquiries with XXXX on XX/XX/2019 and, again, the XXXX rep would not allow me to dispute them.

Complaint: Capitol One Savor account cancelled by the company.
I applied for and was approved for a " Savor '' rewards credit card from Capitol One which gives a reward of 4 % on entertainment and dining. I made my first charge ( {$22000.00} ) on XX/XX/XXXX for my personal baseball season tickets. I paid the charge off in full 4 days later on XX/XX/XXXX. That left me with a balance of {$0.00}. I earned a cash back reward on that charge which was credited to my statement on XX/XX/XXXX in the amount of {$1400.00}.
On XX/XX/XXXX I made a second charge of {$25000.00}, again for the remainder of my personal season baseball season tickets. I paid the credit card balance {$23000.00} plus the reward credit of {$1400.00} leaving me with a balance of XXXX onXX/XX/XXXX.
I contacted the company and coordinated these 2 purchases and the payments so there would be no issues with the charges or payments.
On XX/XX/XXXXI was issued a rewards credit of {$1000.00} on my account. So I now had a credit of {$1000.00} on my statement. Because I had a credit balance on my statement and no other charges to offset the credit, I was send a check in the amount of {$1000.00}.
In XX/XX/XXXX I went to use the card and it was denied. I called the company to find out why and was told my card was CANCELLED by the company. Reason : My purchases were not to their expectations and I was informed to stop using the card and cut it up. I received a letter shortly thereafter.
I reviewed the terms and conditions of the card and I am in compliance with them and request my card be replaced with a current one. All my purchases were 100 % personal and it is advertised that the card can be used for entertainment XXXX baseball games XXXX and dinning ( attempted ) which is what I did.
I also understand there is no limit on the amount of rewards that can be earned. I believe I am being singled out, unjustly and unlawfully being deprived of this credit card and its benefits. I have complied with the published terms and conditions that I agreed to when I purchased the card ( It has the first year {$95.00} fee waived, which I expect to pay when I am reinstated at the completion of the full 12 months of usage ).
I feel I am being deprived of my lawful right to credit and the rewards that accompany the Capitol One " Savor '' card that my fellow neighbors and others throughout this country are enjoying. Being deprived of it has caused me financial harm in many ways, such that I am deprived of the 4 % rewards on my future purchases. It has also financially, negatively impacted my FICA score because the credit card company cancelled my card. I originally applied for the card in late XX/XX/XXXX, it negatively impacts my ability to get credit until late XX/XX/XXXX ( 24 months ). It negatively impacts me on my insurances such as ; home, auto, life because I had my card cancelled. So until this is fixed, I will be experiencing additional financial harm on the issues I identified above.

Complaint: It is the very tricky fraud Capital One uses to deceive its clients and I want to report it.
I opened a credit card in XXXX, XXXX XXXX, and received 0 % introductory APR for 9 months.
My 0 % introductory APR expired on XX/XX/XXXX and my billing cycle also closed on XXXX of every month.
I have XXXX in XXXX and I saw a very dubious situation - what happens if I pay my balance in full after XX/XX/XXXX. I called to capital one and asked this question and I received an unambiguous answer : they told me that I would get my statement for XXXX XXXX exactly on XX/XX/XXXX and if I pay it in full during a grace period they would not charge any interest.
They record all calls I believe.
I had XXXX balance, I paid in full on XX/XX/XXXX. Today I got my next statement and it shows interest only since I had no charges.
I am in-furious. I called them and reported this fraud, they said they are willing to write off this interest, but I am mad because of this practice - they lie to their clients.
They charged the interest, and a supervisor tried to explain me that I should have closed my balance before the expiration of the intro APR to avoid the interest charge, but when I insisted he would listen my previous call to the bank, he put me on silence, and when he returned back he wrote off interest rate.
I complained that I have no tolerance for that but they do not care.
They also do another nasty thing - they do not report the date of 0 % APR expiration on statements, you never know when it expires. you only see it online, but not on PDF statement.

Problem with personal statement of dispute
Complaint: Hello, I made a purchase at a Kohl 's for XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX of 2018. I always pay my full balance in the store, but their was an issue with their computers and they were unable to process using my debit card in the store to pay off the credit card. Thinking that I would later receive the bill, I forgot that the payment was never actually complete. I never received a bill for this amount. I only received a letter from Kohl 's after my account was more than 30 days late. I called them and they removed the XXXX dollar late charge, and they admitted that they did not send me a bill because I was on paperless billing and I needed to make an account and pay online. I had never even made an online account to be able to pay or even see the bill, so it would have not even been possible for me to pay or see this bill. I received no electronic version of the bill either.
Over the phone they understood and removed the XXXX dollar late fee, but still reported this incident to the credit bureau as a late payment. I called them to attempt to have it removed and they refused to do so unless I wrote a letter explaining the situation, which I did. They wrote me a letter back saying they were not legally allowed to do so because the payment was paid late so they have to report it as such. I know this is not true as I have read online about similar scenarios with other companies who have removed late payments that were essentially the fault of the company. This is clearly an example of that. Although I do bear some responsibility, the company had many more chances to avoid this than I did.
If their system had been working properly, I would have paid in the store as I always do. If they had a mechanism to send a bill if a customer has not even signed up for their online account to pay for it, I would have also paid it. Shouldn't the company know that I have not even made an account in order to pay the bill? They could easily set up something that sends a text alert or an email or something to someone who is about to have a late payment, but of course they won't do that because it makes more money for them. They have to make it as likely as possible that you will have a late payment.
The fault that is mine is forgetting about the purchase not being complete due to their error, but that is such a minor oversight and there were many ways in which the company could have avoided this and only one way in which I could have. Should the onus really be on the customer to remember that Kohl 's servers were down, and to rush home and make an online account on the off chance that Kohl 's will not send them a bill in the mail like every other company does? That seems ludicrous. If the company wants to save money and the environment by going paperless I am 100 % for that, but in cases like this it seems so obvious that I shouldn't have a 7 year mark on my credit for something that was mostly their fault.
As a side note, this incident is totally against the spirit of of what a credit score is supposed to represent. A late payment is supposed to reflect someone who was unable to make their payment on time and is therefore more risky to lend to. It is not supposed to punish someone for years who didn't receive a bill from a company. I still find it hard to believe they did not remove it, but here we are. I can not understand how any reasonable person would find that they can recognize their error enough to remove the XXXX dollar late charge, but still want to hurt my credit.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/2019 I attempted to activate a Capital One credit card that was offered to me via regular mail. When I called the number to activate the link did not work. I called the number at XXXX to activate card only to be told I was speaking to the fraud department. They requested my full social security number and photo copy also, a copy of my Ohio driver 's license front and back, and after all of that, called at XXXX XXXX, XX/XX/2019 requesting a copy of a utility bill for proof of residence which I refused to do. I have credit monitoring which currently shows no suspicious activity related to my private affairs. I now feel this might have been some type of scam and I am very worried. Why would they offer me a card, only to request information that they should already have.

Complaint: On XX/XX/19, I received an alert from my credit card ( capital One ) asking if I had made the following transactions. At a XXXX XXXX XXXX # XXXX for ( 2 ) purchases of {$310.00} each, and another XXXX XXXX XXXX # XXXX, in the amount of {$500.00}. I answered the text " NO ''. Then on XX/XX/19 I noticed that these charges were put on my credit card account, I called Capital One and asked why, they said that the merchant had requested payment for these charges. I asked Capital One to dispute them, and still the charges remain on my account. I received a letter from Capital One, saying that the investigation of the fraud had been resolved, I have attached a copy of this letter from Capital One. I also am attaching the charges that were posted to my Capital One account. I dont ' understand why Capital One pursues me to pay for these charges, I was not the one that made the purchases, on XX/XX/19. And this credit card has not been used by me to purchase at XXXX XXXX, I actually use another card from another bank, for those purchases. I would appreciate your office looking into this, and see if it can be resolved.
