Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I filed an application for a Capitol One XXXX credit card. Ten days later I received an e-mailed letter of denial. I am a retired fXXXX XXXX with stellar credit ( 800+, no adverse info ). I called and spoke with a senior credit analyst. He proved detailed instructions on how to file an appeal by mail. I did so, and after thirty days there was no response. I called again today and escalated the call to a senior credit supervisor. The supervisor indicated that the letter was received, and that reports did, in fact, show that I have excellent credit. She suggested I unlock all three credit reports again ( Ive done this twice before, my contact with the credit reporting companies have confirmed Capital One had received my entire credit report ) and that I should apply for a third time. Most importantly, there have been several indications on the phone calls that Capital One is engaged in some form of illegal discrimination, perhaps age-related, possibly in some other form. I sensed this as obvious in all of the telephone calls, especially as the representatives repeatedly used the pronoun Miss, instead of Mrs , or more correctly Dr . I request that your bureau conduct an investigation as to whether this is an ongoing pattern of behavior by Capital One.

Complaint: I previously have submitted 3 disputes regarding the account with the three major credit bureaus going back since XX/XX/XXXX and they all have came back verified. After being unsuccessful I decided to contact the creditor via mail. i mailed a letter to Capital One on XX/XX/XXXX and they received it on XX/XX/XXXX. In the letter I stated that there was an account on my credit report that i did not recognize. I asked them how they verified this account and any original signed documentation that was tying me to this account that they were alleging belonged to me.I received a response from Capital One on XX/XX/XXXX regarding my letter. In the letter they requested in order to research my request that they needed a copy of the letter they sent me, a copy of my credit report, a copy of my original letter sent and the last 4 digits of the account number. I am appalled by the stall tactics that they are using regarding my request. I already sent them a letter with my name an address regarding my request with the partial account number that is listed on my credit report. I will not be giving them my social security number, which they already have because it is being reported on my credit report. It is there job to look into the investigation and provide me what I requested. They have more than enough information to properly look into my request. I have included all correspondents with Capital One and a copy of them reporting on one of my credit reports

Complaint: Hello, While I am thankful and grateful that Capital one gave me the chance to rebuild my credit with limited credit history I feel like the issue I am writing about is something that should have been handled better by capital one. My statement billing date up until recently was the XXXX of every Month. On XX/XX/XXXX I received an email from capital one stating my payment due date will be changed to XX/XX/XXXX. So Im sitting there waiting and waiting for my XXXX statement to print out so I would know how much to pay and nothing was sent. I called capital one 4 separate times asking them when my new billing cycle date would be and each time they told me their systems were still upgrading and I would receive something in the mail. Till this date I have not receive anything in the mail in regards to my new billing cycle close date or anything regarding to my new due date. I get an email XX/XX/XXXX telling me my XXXX statement was generated and I would have to pay XXXX dollars by XX/XX/XXXX. This information was not relayed to me via any email or any correspondence by Capital one which will now cause a large Credit utilization to report to the credit bureaus and will cause a negative impact on my credit score. If was able to know what date the billing cycle closes I would have been able to better manage my payments and my overall capital one account. Highly anger about the matter and would like my account to be reviewed for a resolution. Thank you.

Complaint: It comes with displeasure to have to send an e-mail to you regarding a situation, I have made several calls and as of this morning it is not resolved. For the last 5 years I have been a credit card customer and have always maintained a great line of credit. I have also enrolled in auto pay to ensure that my monthly payment are made in a timely manner if the balance is from {$1.00} to a XXXX. I have authorized charges amounting to {$2600.00} with XXXX XXXX. On XX/XX/19, I logged on to Capital One to pay the {$2600.00} charges and received an error message that the maximum amount that can be paid is {$2200.00}. I backed out of the account and reentered the amount of {$2200.00}, which I got a message completed. On XX/XX/19, I notice that a total of {$4800.00} was removed from my account and paid to Capital one. Immediately I called Capital One and spoke with a supervisor identified as XXXX # XXXX, and advise her of the issue and requested that the {$2200.00} be refunded/reimbursed to my account. She indicated that she would process a claim to have the funds refunded. On XX/XX/19, I notice that the fund were not returned so I call and spoke to a supervisor identified as XXXX XXXX XXXX who advise me that it would take up to 5 days to have the funds transferred to my bank. Today I called and spoke to XXXX # XXXX who advise me that the timeframe for payment investigation takes up to 5 business days. I am astonished on so many levels with this situation. First how was the {$2600.00} taken when it error out? Then why would the system allow so much money to go into one account when my account balance was only {$460.00} that was scheduled to be auto pay on XX/XX/19. Also, after the error we discovered that too much money was deducted and attention is brought to your company why am I forced to wait so long for the error to be corrected? Why was the {$2600.00} that wasnt authorized to be removed from my account. Finally why did I get three different explanation of how this error would be corrected? I also ask that a paper check be overnight to me and was advised by XXXX and XXXX that your company does not have the capability to send me a paper check. It sadden me in this day and time when an issue of this magnitude happens there is no exception to company policy that can had an issue resolved in a more timely basis. I await to hear from you and if you need to speak with me my phone number XXXX.

Complaint: Hello, I had a credit card with Capital One. I lost my card ending in XXXX. I paid off all of the balance owed. I requested to get XXXX balance rewards points which is equal to {$40.00}. They said that I need to have the actual card at my possession. On or about XX/XX/2019 I asked capital One to send me a new card. On XX/XX/XXXX Capital One ( Phone number : XXXX ) sent me a letter ( case number : XXXX ), saying that my account was closed and the Rewards Points were forfeitured. I have no problem for the closure of my account but Capital One still owes me my deserved/ earned rewards points. To earn those point I paid $ $ $ interest payment to Capital One, for many months. Complaint: The first problem was the care was given to ex wife during a divorce. According to GA law the contract which was Capital One position is the divorce decreed does not relieve me of the financial responsibility. My ex wife fell behind in the payment and they pushed the extra fees and to the end of the. The loan was for 7 years. The care three years later was involved in the auto accident which total the care. We had full coverage through XXXX and Gap insurance. Ex wife called the insurance and capital one. XXXX, Capital one, and Gap insurance took so long to settle the loan we had extra fees and cot from Capital knowing the car was total and there were the moving party to get the information to the insurance and gap insurance. Capital one got the full amount from the XXXX, which was not enough to cover the loss. The gap insurance failed to pay off the rest of the car which it was supped to do. Capital one refused to negotiate and they wanted the full amount of the total loan. I said it was a simple interest loan the car was paid off way before loan car loan was due. The argument is, I should not owe for the unpaid balance on the care loan.

Complaint: Hi, I acknowledge the receipt of your email. I also acknowledgethat Capital One had refunded my money, however, following the return of my money to my account, I received an email from Capital OneXXXX XXXX notifying me that there has been a negative news report to my credit scores account by the credit Bureau which has affected my creditscores. That, my credit scores went down 38 pointsand if I have a question to call them! Surely I checked my credit scores to see it for myself what had happened. First, what I saw was that Capital Oneshowed that I have used 86 to 100 % of the credit line I have with Capital One ( Not to mention that I have not received a credit increase for a long time despite of my request for credit increase ) and that warranted a thumbs downmeaning it is possible that, that was part of the problem that lowered my credit scores. I did not find any new reported account issues as of XX/XX/XXXX, which might have affected my score to that extent of slashed down 38 points. I discussed with them what I think and believe had happened following my complaints against Capital One, that to me that is a retaliation for reporting their ( Capital One ) unlawful practice. Although Capital One claimed to have nothing to do with reporting anything to the Credit Bureau that will impact the loss of 38 points, Iview the matter differently, and I have confidence that because XXXX XXXX via XXXX XXXX part of my service with Capital One Bank to monitor my Credit scores of which every month they notify me of any changes in my credit report. Mind that, there has notbeen a new negative report for the past six months according to their alerts. And that was how they reported for the Month of XX/XX/XXXX that " everything looks good, nothing negative reported '' ... that was before filing my complaints towards the last week of XX/XX/XXXX. The negative derogative accounts have been there forsometime even though I have disputed them but never received responses from the three Credit Bureau and did not slash my score down. I don't remember any other time that I have suffered a credit report point loss like that in recent memory. Only after I finished car payments in XXXX that I lost 100 points from my credit scores and when I askedwhy, they told meit was because I did not have any other dept to pay to report to the Credit Bureau. I suspect that the slashing down of my credit score is a retaliation for my complaints against Capital One, and I would like to request investigation to this issuetoo. Thank you, XXXX XXXX.

Complaint: I made a payment to my cc to pay off revolving balance and minimums for promotional balances in order not to incur any interest charges. The payment went to pay only the promotional balance ( not due ) and left me being charged interest ( {$22.00} ) for my revolving balance that should have been paid. XX/XX/2019 statement. I called to have the payment allocated correctly, but have been told that cant be done. Ive asked how to use the card around the window of when a promotional balance is coming due to make sure payments go to a revolving balance ... .cant get an answer. Ive been told nothing can be done .... stop using the cc doesnt seem to make sense.

Complaint: Complaint to Capital One : On XX/XX/19, I did receive an email in XXXX from CapitalOne baiclly stating the following : - It had been more than 3 years since last time I used my credit card account ( ending in XXXX ) and that for such reason, my account had been " restricted. '' - This means I could no longer use the card and that the account would be closed for " lack of activity '' after XX/XX/2019. - Until that date, your account would remain " restricted, '' and that the restriction on my account could not be lifted before it is " closed, '' nor could it be reopened once closed. - They kindly reminded me that I still had a reward balance of {$68.00}, and I still had until XX/XX/2019 to redeem the rewards before my account gets closed. It is more than disappointing to hear that my account is being arbitrarily closed for lack of use despite the many years I used them, and always paying balances on-time. What is even more frustrating is that they didn't bother to send an advance notice giving you a heads up ( prior to them making the unilateral decision of closing the account ). My CapitalOne account is the oldest account that I have and losing them will drastically affect my credit score, due to being the oldest line of credit ( and the one ultimately determining the length of my credit history ). On XX/XX/19, I called CapitalOne and asked for something very simple : I asked for the contractual and/or legal basis for the decision and they were unable to answer my question. They kept saying that this was their policy, yet were unable to point out the specific provisions under the Terms & Conditions or otherwise cite any credible basis for this decision ( they didn't even provided a commercial basis for the decision ). After speaking with one of their Reps, I demanded to speak with a supervisor. I was put through and spoke with " XXXX '' ( agent ID XXXX ) but my questions ( which were very pointed questions in relation to this unfortunate decision ) remain unaddressed. I'm extremely dissatisfied as to how CapitalOne handled my concerned ( even beyond the decision itself ), and at the very least, I feel misinformed and underrepresented, hence the reason why I'm filing this complaint. My objective in doing so is to better understand the legitimacy of CapitalOnes arbitrary action and, irrespective of the fact it lacks any " moral high-ground, '' where is this decision rooted since ( again ), CapitalOne failed to provide a credible explanation which I view as an abuse to their consumers ' trust. I keep some hope that CapitalOne will understand how important preserving my first credit line is for me and if we accomplish this, I would also compromise to use my credit card more often than I've had during the last couple of months - I understand that there are financial objectives and targets that CapitalOne needs to pursue to remain competitive in the market and, in this respect, I'm more than willing to work with them. PS : A subsequent letter ( also in XX/XX/XXXX) was sent to me after I called on XX/XX/19 ( a copy of which is attached hereto ). I look forward to a resolution to this issue.
