When I realized I was paying along ( always on time ), and not knowing there were 2 cards which I did n't apply for, I tried many times to contact them and no one would get back to me nor they were reachable. They went ahead and reported me on the credit bureaus as both being late ( adding astronomical unknown charges ) and now they have ruined my credit ... ..they are not cooperative at all, and I need them to remove such negative items from my credit reports!

Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX by Barclaycard- " Balance subject to interest rate '' " Average Daily Balance '' difficult to calculate, appears intentionally misleading, and results in higher interest charges than should be applicable to the current statement. <P/>On my latest statement for billing period XX/XX/17 - XX/XX/17, I see a total of {$2700.00} for the " Balance subject to interest rate ''. The actual statement balance was only {$2000.00} and this is a significant discrepancy that results in higher interest being owed. I have been unable to determine exactly how Barclaycard calculated this amount, and neither could a manager at their customer service center. I feel this is an unethical methodology of calculating interest since I see simple way for oversight. My solution now will likely be to discontinue my business with them and to voice my experience publicly. <P/>The company uses an " Average Daily Balance '' ( ADB ) to calculate interest, supposedly starting from the last contiguous statement period where the balance was not paid in full. This makes it nearly impossible for the consumer to accurately calculate their interest if they have even a modicum of purchases for the month and especially when this carries over for multiple statement periods. It appears designed to be intentionally confusing and extremely difficult for customers to calculate and verify their charges. <P/>I tried to clarify this issue with the bank through a phone call to their costumer service center and while I did get a manager on the line who made a valiant attempt to calculate my ADB for even one statement however it was impossible to actually go through this statement in any kind of reasonable time frame. She did say they could produce a spreadsheet with each calculation for the ADB but she could only discuss this verbally over the phone and could not share the physical data. Since my ADB for this recent statement period spanned 3 billing periods it was impossible for us to accurately review this data over the phone. Therefore there is no way for me to accurately account for the interest charged by Barclaycard and I feel this is unethical and an abuse of customer trust. A quick internet search of Barclaycard customer experiences further increases my suspicion of this bank 's untrustworthy nature. <P/>Let me also state that when XXXX XXXX XXXX switched to Barclaycard, their online banking service portal for the credit card also shifted by removing pertinent information that had been previously readily available and thus making it feel less transparent and accountable to check on my finances.

Complaint: The company allowed someone to add my husband onto their credit card account as an authorized user without his knowledge or consent. We have no idea who the account holder is or how this happened. It is preventing us from moving forward on our mortgage loan. I spoke with the office of the president at Barclays Bank and they provided me with a letter stating that I have been removed from the account. However the credit reporting is still on my credit report and they are unwilling to electronically correct this error and remove the account entirely from my credit report until the normal reporting date of the XXXX . THIS IS PREVENTIN G US FROM APPLYING FOR A MORTGAGE AND IT NEEDS TO BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY!

I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CLOSE THE ACCOUNT AND THEY KEEP ADDING AMOUNTS TO MY CREDIT CARD THAT I DO NOT OWE. <P/>Step 3 : What happened? ON STATEMENT FROM XX/XX/XXXX - XX/XX/XXXX I OWED {$200.00}. I PAID THROUGH XXXX XXXX ON XX/XX/XXXX I PAID THE AMOUNT OF {$100.00} AND ON XX/XX/XXXXI PAID THE AMOUNT OF {$100.00}. Then after I paid they charge me the amount of {$2.00} and I paid through XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. ( See Attachment ) After this payment they claimed that the payment was returned and it was not true. t and then they claimed that {$100.00} was returned and is not true, because ( see statements. ), they claimed that was returned on XX/XX/2017 and the payment was done on XX/XX/2017. Complaint: My son, an authorized user of my Barclaycard ( XXXX ) account, disputed two fraudulent credit card charges ( {$130.00} and {$73.00} dated XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX respectfully ) in the early days of XXXX, I think it was XXXX XXXX. Although my son visited the establishment earlier in the day, he left at XXXX XXXX. Towards the end of XXXX we received two letters from Barclaycard, one requesting additional information and the other denying the dispute. Copies of the card transactions of the disputed charges show neither was signed by him. <P/> On XXXX XXXX we responded to the request for additional infomation with a dispute form stating that the transactions were not signed by my son or I. On XXXX XXXX, Barclaycard denied the claim again and will not reopen the case. <P/> On Barclaycard 's website it states : Barclaycard provides fraud protection and monitoring on all of our credit cards to ensure the security of customer information. All customers are also covered by our {$0.00} Fraud Liability Protection - which means you will never be held liable for unauthorized transactions. <P/> Clearly this has not been the case with our experience.

It was a program set up through XXXX. <P/>When I did the promotion I received a general credit card to use anywhere as well. <P/>I 've been paying monthly payments for more than a year and was recently shocked to learn that very little went toward paying off the promotional rate. I thought they were applying some of my payments toward this but turns out they were not and they say they did not have to until the last two months of the promotion. <P/>I 'm quite confused about when I make payments how to make sure it goes toward paying off that promotional purchase. I can not figure out how much of each of my payments is even allocated to paying it off. <P/>The promotional rate ends in early XXXX and I 'm still trying to figure out how I can pay it off. <P/>The promotional purchase is roughly {$1000.00}. The total amount I owe on the card is {$4000.00}. <P/>I want to make a couple of payments between now and XXXX so it 's paid off. <P/>I feel this is very misleading. I have another promotional purchase card with XXXX XXXX and they are very upfront about the payments and applying it to the promotional amount so you are not charged back interest. <P/>I feel this is very misleading and sets consumers up to fail and owe the bank all the interest from date of purchase.

Complaint: {$440.00} in various amounts were fraudulently purchased by someone who managed to get a hold of either my card number or my old discarded/destroyed card and somehow was able to use it. I disputed the charge on XXXX XXXX. Barclaycard apparently did an 'investigation ' where they determined I was the one who performed those fraudulent transactions, including a purchase a motel at which I have never stepped foot and several suspicious large purchases at convenience stores. <P/> A side note, I received a call from Barclaycard investigators which seemed highly suspect and unprofessional, and I was concerned enough to do research into the phone number to see if it was even legitimate which it apparently was ( the person on the phone calling me did not know specifics about the case ). I proceeded to close the account upon receiving this verdict.

Complaint: I opened an XXXX XXXX card issued by Barclays in the summer of XX/XX/XXXXin order to purchase from the XXXX XXXX and receive points for it. <P/>Unfortunately, one year later I had a housing crisis and called Barclays to enter this credit card into the Financial Hardship Program. The account was closed, my interest rate and minimum payments were lowered and the late fee was waived. I successfully completed the program in one year and began making regular payments until I paid the entire balance a few months ago. <P/>However, when I started shopping around for a refinance on my student loans, I noticed that I was getting denied due to " excessive late payments. '' I pulled my credit reports and noticed that Barclays listed this closed account as 30 days late for six consecutive months ( XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX) after I entered it into the hardship program. <P/>If I had known that my account was going to be marked late, despite paying on time on the same day for an entire year and AFTER enrolling in the hardship program, then I would n't have joined a " hardship program. '' I 've disputed with XXXX, XXXX and XXXX multiple times - online and in writing - as well as directly with Barclays. They keep saying that the reporting is correct despite the documents and payment statements ( all directly debited and accounted for from my account ) the contradicts their assertion. <P/>I 've asked them to correct my account status or explain how they 've come to their conclusion, but they refuse to do the first and refuse to explain the latter. <P/>This account has been closed for over a year and the balance has been paid in full, so I have no interest in acquiring a Barclays card or co-branded card after the run-around I 've received from them.
