Cashing a check
Complaint: I received a check from an individual and that check was drawn against a bank of america checking account. There was uncertainty if the funds would be available to cover the check, so instead of depositing at my bank and risking a NSF draft fee I took the check to bank of america. Being it was there check it was my belief they would honor their own check and cash the check being drawn on their account. Bank of america charges {$8.00} fee to cash a personal check drawn on an account at their bank. As a federally insured financial institution it they should not be allowed to charge for cashing personal checks drawn on account at their bank. The only way to avoid the fee is open an account with bank of america which requires agreeing to a credit check.

Complaint: This bank keeps lying to me and treats me horrible they promised me that my replacement card would be contactless and it isnt when I call their customer service says their sorry horibke and then I requested a product change upgrade to the travel rewards card which they said I qualified for because of no foreighn transaction fee I chose this card but instead they change my existing cash rewards from a XXXX to a XXXX so unfair then when I call and ask them why I didnt get the travel Rewards they said their system in so tired of this bank treating me like this and wish they would keep their word I never got a contactless credit card and my existing account never got upgraded to the travel rewards card as I requested

Didn't receive terms that were advertised
Complaint: On XXXX of XX/XX/2019 I have opened checking account in Bank of America ( BOA ) using promotion offer for those who live in Idaho ( I live there ) and few more states ( full details in offer.pdf ). Requirements to Receive the Online Only {$350.00} Checking Account Bonus and ATM Fee Waiver : ( 1 ) Open a new eligible Bank of America personal checking account by XX/XX/2019 ( you must use the Open now link on the offer page at the time of account opening to be enrolled in this offer ) ; AND ( 2 ) set up and receive Qualifying Direct Deposits equaling a total of {$4000.00} or more in your new personal checking account within 90 days of account opening. I had successfully opened the account using code XXXX ( please see the screenshots evidence1.png and evidence2.png as a confirmation - I removed personal information but have original ) On XXXX I have made a call to the support of BOA and it was confirmed that offer is attached to my account. From XX/XX/2019 till XX/XX/2019 I have accumulated {$4500.00} in direct deposits thus qualifying for the sign up bonus. However, even before qualification I received a letter ( dated by XX/XX/2019, ref # XXXX ) from BOA stating that I have been qualified just for {$100.00} without any explanation why my previous offer was changed. I made a call to the support and I was explained that offer XXXX never existed, which is absolutely not true as evidence2.png shows. So BOA gave me different offer of {$100.00} and deposited {$100.00} later to my account. I insisted that the offer XXXX did exist as I had screenshots and saved offer page. Then I was told that I need to wait until all direct deposits will accumulate above {$4000.00}. After getting {$4000.00} in direct deposits I called again and support told me that my case was escalated with ref # XXXX. I was told to call after 30 days, what I did on XXXX, XXXX. During this call I was told that by this ref # there is no escalation of my case. I submitted new escalation to receive remaining {$250.00} with ref # XXXX.
I am complaining here about unfair " bait and switch '' practice by Bank of America and wasting clients time. I hope for quick resolution of my case and prompt deposit of {$250.00} from Bank of America.

Problem using a debit or ATM card
Complaint: I was using Bank of America ATM machine to withdraw {$500.00} in {$50.00} bills and I only got {$300.00} in {$20.00} bills, I called their claims department to open a claim claim # XXXX and was told it may take upto 45 days to be resolved. A couple of weeks later, i got a letter saying it was resolved and no error was detected, I called the bank and dispute it and I was told that there was no error detected. After so much of emotional conversations after practically being accused of making false claims, they offered to submit another request to take a look at it and it got denied as well.

Complaint: I am a Bank of America customer. I had two fraud claims on my checking account. It is under my debit card number XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was given a temporary credit because this was fraud. I noticed that last week BOA debited my checking account for these fraud charges. I called last Friday, XXXX XXXX, and was very upset because when they did this, it overdrew my bank account. I was told they did this because they tried to call me to ask a couple of questions and couldn't reach me. I Never received a message from the bank. The girl asked me the questions and said they would reopen the claims and straighten this out in my account by Monday, XX/XX/XXXX. Well, they reopened claims and left my bank account in the negative status. I was livid. I had creditors coming thru for payment and BOA was bouncing my checks. I then was charged by my creditors and BOA charged me {$35.00} for that. What a slap in the face!! I am a senior citizen and my health insurance payment hit. My retirement money went into that account and BOA bounced that. I have serious health issues and will sue them if this doesn't get straightened out right away. I have called BOA everyday trying to get this matter resolved. Now they are telling me they are going to keep my account overdrawn until they finish the claims process. This is outrageous and no way to treat a long time customer who had legitimate fraud issues on her account. I told BOA this morning that I was reporting them to you and I also threatened to close all my accounts if this matter isn't resolved right away. I have been lied to, kept on hold for over an hour at a time or more, and not given any help or hope for help. Now they have put my health in jeopardy by not paying my health insurance. They are the worst.

Complaint: On XXXX XXXX XXXX I opened a credit card with Bank of America ( who I bank with ) and only used the card once or twice for gas and always immediate paid it off, never carrying a balance. I simply stopped using the card and in XXXX of XXXX unbeknownst to me I was charged an annual fee. I had moved at the end of XXXX and Bank of America had an outdated address and my mail was not forwarding with 100 % accuracy, therefore, I missed the statement/ bill that said I had a balance outstanding due to the annual fee ( about {$40.00} I believe ). I was not setup with online banking and not once when I went to the bank to withdraw funds/ deposit checks did they notify me of the problem. I was also not setup with online banking, which after this experience I am. After two months they simply closed my account and I did not find out about it until I went to apply for a loan and was informed that my score had dropped significantly. I would think that after getting returned mail BofA would take the initiative to attempt to contact me in some other fashion outside of mail, but they did not. The account is now showing as " Paid '' but the negative remarks as far as being " late '' on payments right before they closed it is significantly impacting my ability to qualify for a loan/ additional credit.
I called BofA and they said they could NOT simply change what they were reporting to the credit bureaus, and told me to file a dispute with XXXX and XXXX. I did just that and both came back saying that everything on my report is showing as accurate. What is so frustrating is that BofA is telling me to contact the credit bureaus but then the bureaus are telling me to contact BofA to resolve this!

Complaint: I was trying to look at a refinance through my Bank named Bank of America where I tried to outreach around XX/XX/XXXXand they stated it could take up 6 months to a year to have everything completed. The homeowners association was being very belligerent and pushy to get money from all of its owners. Along with that they would threaten people all the time. The homeowners association is XX/XX/XXXX for the property XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX XXXX. My name is XXXX XXXX and I lived at XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXXXXXX. Also they were going to raise the association dues to about {$300.00} a month. That would put my total cost for mortgage and dues totaling about {$1000.00} a month where I could get a house where I didnt have to worry about an association. Now I know that this association is using all means necessary to keep me unemployed and homeless. This is my last hope.

Complaint: I submitted two claims with boa, both of which were rejected almost immediately. The informed me via letter stating that it was rejected but didn't provide a reason why. When I called to question the reason, they admitted to have never contacted the merchant and simply based their decision on my logins to my account. I've done business with the merchant before so I never paid attention until I saw strange and high amounts. The claims were closed and now if I want them reconsidered, not only they won't give me credit even if temporary, there is no time limit on the duration of the investigation which as the rep who I spoke with seconds ago is a sham. A lie. They didn't investigate a thing, didn't even contact the merchant. Not only that, they'd not give me any documentation regarding the alleged investigation because and according to the rep it is an internal matter.
I want fair treatment and I want my money refunded. I have a police report, I took the merchant to small claims court and if need be, I'll take the bank to court as well.

Unable to open an account
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I went to Bank of America, the store located at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX NM XXXX, to request open a Checking Account for a MSB. I was redirected with Miss. XXXX XXXX, Relationship Manager, who immediately said " no ''. After asking for the General Manager who came to speak with XXXX, they found in their online banking regulation that an option is possible with the right documentation and thru their Business Bankers with an appointment and remote PC video-conference. Miss. XXXX took my basic personal information, and my LLC company information, such us name, address, ITIN number, EIN number etc., to get that on her bank system. So I was re-scheduled for the next day, and required to bring with me the company documentation. So, next day by XXXX XXXX I was again there to be connected in the video-conference with the business bankers. Miss XXXX called them over the phone and who ever picked up the phone on the side of the business bankers, they said NO, asserting they do NOT open checking accounts for MSB for internal policies. Also the business banker did not want to pass the call to me. It was just a cold and fast rejection. So, I asked for the Bank of America District Manager or Headquarter location and Miss XXXX just said they do not have headquarters in XXXX NM.
I showed to Miss XXXX the Fincen Advisory date on XX/XX/XXXX pointing the page one, second paragraph, where provides the importance to ensuring " reasonable access to banking services '' for MSB 's who comply with the law. There MBS 's have the right to go thru the " fair '' application process and " banking organizations should apply the Bank Secrecy Act requirements to money services businesses, as they do with all accountholders, on a risk-assessed basis ''.
However, in accordance with this provision no rejections without a " fair process '' are acceptable.
I asked Miss XXXX to get a copy of this advisory in order to send it to their business bankers, and she refused to read it and to take it. After my persistence she took a copy of the Fincen Advisory without any real interest.
Therefore, I consider a potential violation of our rights as MSB pursuant the Fincen Advisory XX/XX/XXXX second paragraph. This advisory was issued jointly by Fincen and the " Federal Banking Agencies '' ( The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the National Credit Union Administration, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and the Office of Thrift Supervision ).
Therefore, no one internal policy can stand against this Fincen and Federal Banking Agencies provision, non Bank of America.
Then, pursuant the Fincen Advisory XX/XX/XXXX, with all respect I request hereby thru CPFB, First.- Send this complain to the headquarters of Bank of America to their reconsideration thru a " fair '' process, that usually includes a general questionnaire form, the copy of our AML Program , Training process and records, Compliance Officer, and Independent review ( The 4 pillars of a MSB ) ( 31 CFR 103.125 ), Authorized Delegate Verification Letters from Money Transmitters XXXX bank statements from the current bank, visitation to the business, curriculum of the owner, etc. Then, if every thing is under the BSA and the Law, opening the account to the MSB petitioner its mandatory.
Second.- Send this complain to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation for its analysis.
Third.- Send this complaint to FINCEN Financial Crimes Enforcement Network for its analysis.
Forth.- Send this complaint to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System for its analysis.

Complaint: Prevalent DAILY Institutional XXXX has reared it's UGLY head once, again on it XXXX XXXX platform!!! XX/XX/19 {$2300.00} in the form a CASHIERS CHECK ( attached ) from the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX that I purchased XX/XX/19 was deposited into my checking account.
