Other problem
Complaint: In XX/XX/2019, I signed up for Bank of America credit card. I received the card and promptly registered my card online. At the same time, I set up an autopay option to pay my credit card automatically when payment was due. During the autopay payment option selection, I chose the pay " Amount Due '' option versus the " Minimum Amount Due '', believing that Amount Due doesn't mean the Minimum Amount Due. Turns out, the Amount Due selection is the SAME THING as the Minimum Amount Due option and when the autopay was applied for my statement on XX/XX/XXXX it only applied the minimum {$25.00} due. Bank of America then in turned charged me {$27.00} in interest on XX/XX/XXXX.
I called in to dispute this and call out the deceptive and confusing wording for the autopay options but they are refusing to refund my interest charge because " I should've known there's a difference in the options ''. This is clearly deceptive practices from Bank of America and I would like my interest returned to me and for them to clearly word and differentiate their options in a non-deceptive manner.

Deposits and withdrawals
Complaint: Bank of America withholds deposits and other transactions in order to assess fees. They just did it to me again, I was alerted immediately when my account became overdrawn. I then immediately transferred funds from my XXXX account into my BOA account, which usually hits immediately, but if didnt, then I was alerted I was assessed a fee so I went back to XXXX and transferred more money thinking maybe it will go through and it did not either. So now the money is out of XXXX and is not in Bank of America its being held by boa, meanwhile they are charging overdraft fees to my account. Im sick and tired of this shady business practice by boa

Fee problem
Complaint: Bank of America charged me {$35.00} for overdraft fees on XX/XX/XXXX even though my overdraft protection is XXXX and I never authorized them to pay a charge if I don't have enough balance in my account. I called them on XX/XX/XXXX and they basically said they can not help me. I believe these {$35.00} overdraft fees should be illegal.
I want Bank of America to give my {$35.00} back.
Thank you.

Complaint: I was shocked when I reviewed my credit report and found late payment on XX/XX/2019 I am not sure how this happened, I believe that I had made my payments to you when I received my statements. My only thought is that my monthly statement did not get to me, or the payment was not applied as fast as expected. I checked my bank account and noticed that you deducted the money out of my checking account that on the month that you marked me late on my credit report.

Credit card company won't work with you while you're going through financial hardship
Complaint: Bank of America ( Credit Card ) was notified of my hardship shortly after being laid off from work on XX/XX/XXXX. Month after month Bank of America continued to insist that only my full monthly payment ( {$450.00} ) was to be accepted. I emphasized my hardship being unemployed however I mentioned to them that I could make smaller payments to maintain some degree of repayment. Their reps would only ask if I had someone I could borrow money for payments. At one point I even mentioned I could make half the payment at {$200.00}, but they didn't take it over the phone. I stated to them that there are FFIEC Uniform Retail Credit Classification Policies and Guidelines which address financial hardships and provide the flexibility to restructure the debt to maintain repayment in light of a hardship. Please see below as it is a section of that very same policy that financial institutions must follow. There was no need to charge off my account and destroy my credit rating as I have maintained a FICO score of over 750 for 20+ years, and more so given my excellent repayment history with BOA since being a customer in XXXX. I showed a willingness to discuss a workout option to continue payments. I spoke to an agent three days prior to being charged off and they never stated a payment had to be received by a certain time to avoid charge off. They can listen to that recorded call as well. I called at the end of the month one evening to make a payment but they said it was too late as payment should have been made earlier in the day.
FFIEC Uniform Retail Credit Classification Policies and Guidelines Re-Aging, Extensions, Deferrals, Renewals, and Rewrites Re-aging of open-end accounts, and extensions, deferrals, renewals, and rewrites of closed-end loans can be used to help borrowers overcome temporary financial difficulties, such as loss of job, medical emergency, or change in family circumstances like loss of a family member. A permissive policy on reagings, extensions, deferrals, renewals, or rewrites can cloud the true performance and delinquency status of the portfolio. However, prudent use is acceptable when it is based on a renewed willingness and ability to repay the loan, and when it is structured and controlled in accordance with sound internal policies.

Deposits and withdrawals
Complaint: On ThursdayXX/XX/2019. I noticed that my personal checking account and the joint account I shared with my wife were both in the negative by approx. {$1800.00}. I called my wife and asked her to check her account and it too was in the negative by the same amount. I deduced that this was the Ma. DOR debiting what I owe from my account. Fair enough. On Friday XX/XX/2019 my paycheck for {$1000.00} ( Approx ) was deducted from the negative balance in my account leaving me with a negative {$770.00} balance. I figured they would deduct the remaining balance from my wife 's account and that would be that. Checking my wife 's account we discovered that they had taken the entire {$1800.00} from my wife 's bi-weekly paycheck leaving us with {$200.00} to our names. I assumed they would refund my check back into my account since they now had over {$1000.00} more than the DOR had ordered them to hold. As would be the case many times over the next few days I assumed they were an honest company, this is far from the truth. I went to the DOR and spoke to the tax examiner assigned to my case who told me that if the amount I owed had been deducted from my account that the lien could be released and my funds returned to me. Bank of America has refused to return my funds. It has now been a week and I've had to jump through hoops to avoid anything from being deposited into my account for fear that they will simply steal it as they previously have. I am at a loss as to what to do, but their action is criminal in my book and should not go unpunished. If I ever get my funds back I will close any account I have with them and urge anyone I know not to use this criminal organization.
