Contacted me after I asked not to
Complaint: I am in rehab for the entire amount of my federal student loans with a collection agency. Another collection agency has garnished my wages. I am not sure if they are included in the rehab or not, but Allied is unwilling to work with me to eliminate the garnishment. They say I must pay an additional amount, every month, in addition to the garnishment and what I am paying on my rehab if I want any relief. I know some relief must be available other than further XXXX my finances, but they have been rude and unwilling to work with me.

Received bad information about my loan
Complaint: My direct loan is in default. Allied Interstate has my loan in collections and I have been making payments for 15 months. All of my payments have been applied to interest, fees & charges while no percentage of my payments have been applied to the principal. Allied is telling me that I can not rehabilitate my loan or ever get it out of default without settling in full.
1. The guarantor still has my loan. I have repeatedly contacted my servicer and I tried to work out a rehabilitation, but they wo n't work w/ me. Allied Interstate is not operating with my best interest in mind. Why am I not getting other options?
My loan is federally backed. Allied Interstate could cash this loan out at 100 % with the XXXX and get fully compensated. I could become eligible for an income based program if they did this.
They could offer me rehabilitation.
2. In XXXX, I should have been directed to sign a master promissory note of some sort, but where is the form with my signature? I have no record of consolidation. I was not properly informed and I do not remember signing a document for the consolidation that occurred in XXXX.
3. On XXXX XXXX, I went into default. However, from XXXX XXXX, XXXX ( after rehabilitation ) through XXXX XXXX, I was not provided a new payment value so I had no way of knowing that I had a payment due. I should have been told I owed payment.
4. In XXXX of XXXX, XXXX held hearings on the mismanagement of student loans. I understand this is a current hot political issue because it has big consequences in the lives of constituents. My creditor is not acting in the interest of me, the customer. XXXX is only applying my payments to interest and fees while my loan remains indefinitely in default. As a result, I can not go back to school, I can not buy a house, and I can not get a loan for a wedding ring while my loan is in default. My life has been crippled.

Trouble with how payments are handled
Complaint: THIS IS MY SECOND COMPLAINT TO THE CONSUMER FINANCIAL PROTECTION BUREAU IN REGARD TO THE COLLECTION OF MY STUDENT LOAN IN THE LAST TWO DAYS. THE NAME OF THIS LOAN ORGANIZATION WHO PROFESSES TO BE WORKING WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION IS ALLIEDINTERSTATE LLC.
THEY HAVE JUST SENT ME A LETTER DEMANDING THAT I SUBMIT PAYMENT TO THEM FOR A DEBT IN THE AMOUNT OF {$43000.00}. THIS LETTER, DATED XXXX/XXXX/2016 ALSO STATED THAT BECAUSE MY CREDITOR [ THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION ] CONTINUES TO ASSESS INTEREST ON THIS LOAN, THE ACTUAL AMOUNT OF MY DEBT MAY BE GREATER THAN {$43000.00}. THEY PROMISED TO LET ME ABOUT THE DISCREPANCY AFTER I SENT THEM THE PAYMENT OF {$43000.00}. I WILL ENCLOSE THEIR LETTER TO ME IN ADDITION TO SOME PAPERWORK THAT VERIFIES THE ACTUAL DEBT + INTEREST AMOUNT AS {$34000.00}!
SO IN THE CASE THAT XXXX & ALLIEDINTERSTATE LLC. ARE NOW, BOTH PURPORTING TO REPRESENT THE CREDITOR [ THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION ] IN ADDITION TO THOSE XXXX ENTITIES, THE DEPARTMENT OF THE TREASURY/BUREAU OF FISCAL SERVICE IS ALSO CLAIMING TO REPRESENT THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION & ACTUALLY GARNISHING MY XXXX PAYMENT TO PAY-OFF THE SAME LOAN THAT THE XXXX & ALLIEDINTERSTATE LLC. ARE CLAIMING TO HANDLE!!!

Threatened to take legal action
Complaint: For over a year, Representatives from Allied Interstate LLC ( A debt collection agency ) have been making threatening and harassing phones calls to myself and distance relatives ( giving these individuals personals and private information ) in an attempt to force payments for a XXXX XXXX XXXX that they claim that I owe but when I asked on numerous occasions last year for them to produce a promissory note and a copy of such information they never sent it. But, they harassed my terminally ill father via telephone calls concerning a loan that he had no knowledge of and is not responsible for. This harassment of my terminally ill father ( who passed away last year ) and his family continue all of last year and now. Allied Interstate LLC representatives were told several times that I did not live and have not lived with my father for over 44 years but these individual still harassed him and his family and they even gave them personal and privacy information about myself. They have also claimed to be family members and government employees in attempt to gain my trust and to collect this student loan debt. They have also claim that the interest and fees on this loan grows daily and legal action will be made to collect this so-called debt. They have been informed that several years ago all of my student loans were consolidated to XXXX Success and I do not owe a XXXX XXXX XXXX. I have also asked them to stop any and all contact with myself and family members but now they are calling me from XXXX every day and night and just hanging up or not saying anything on the phone when I answer.

Frequent or repeated calls
Complaint: Allied Interstate ( a debt collector ) is calling 10-15 times per day to collect on a debt I owe for XXXX XXXX. I admit I owe the debt and have offered to pay $ XXXX/mo which they refused. They are calling my cell phone, my husbands cell phone, my work phone, and my home phone. I have asked them to stop calling and sent a cease and desist letter, but the calls continue. The rare times I answer, I get no response. These calls are 7 days/week and non-stop. I can not receive these types of calls especially at work and they are putting my job in jeopardy In the last four days I have received 48 phone calls. Again offered to make the $ XXXX/mo payments and they refused stating that was n't good enough. Please make them stop calling
