Complaint: I am a member of the XXXX XXXX and was mobilized to XXXX XXXX in 2018. Federal law requires that credit card companies apply SCRA benefits in these instances. Upon notification of mobilization, I filled out the archaic American Express SCRA benefit application and provided them with my orders. In the application I requested that the benefits be applied to both my Amex Platinum and Amex XXXX XXXX card. They only applied the benefits to my Amex platinum ( applying lower interest rate and did not charge annual fee ), but they did not apply them to my XXXX XXXX XXXX card. For several months, I attempted to request Amex resolve this and refund my annual fee that I was charged for the XXXX XXXX card. Eventually ( in XXXX ) it was determined that I would need to fill out another application to have these benefits applied to the card. I did so, however, they replied that due to the fact that the orders had ended they would not apply the SCRA benefits retroactively and refund my annual fee. This is absurd that they would apply them to my Platinum card and not my XXXX card, furthermore it's insulting that they don't recognize my mobilization to XXXX XXXX as qualifying for a fee refund. I inquired with several colleagues about this and not only did they have apply for SCRA relief for one card, but Amex also applied the benefit to all of the other Amex cards that they hold. Additionally, they were refunded ALL FEEs they've paid in the past. The fact that I am being singled out and not given the benefits required by federal law is insulting. I've now spent 5 full months trying to rectify this and the support that Amex has given me has been awful. I only have the federal government to turn to now to help me with this. Thank you

Complaint: I contacted American Express Serve due to possible fraud on my account. Was on the phone for over 3 hours and unsure if a fraud claim was filed. Was not explained if the claim as placed and my account locked for now. was not explained about obtaining a new credit card nor the expectation on the claim. I spoke with 7 different reps, supervisors and managers all were rude and did not explain anything to me. I was disconnected from both of the managers and no return call back from either. Transactions are still occurring on my account that I did not give authorization to make. Complaint: Hi, I applied an American Express ( AMEX ) Gold charge card on XX/XX/2018 and was told that I am eligible for the welcome offer, which includes : - {$100.00} Annual Statement Credit with your Corporate Card Membership - XXXX Membership Rewards Points after charge {$2000.00} of eligible purchases on The American Express Gold Card within the first three months. ( Please see the attached full offer terms ) After this card got approved and I met the spending requirement, I double checked with AMEX and got the confirmation that my welcome offer would be posted to my account after a while. However, I was told by AMEX that my welcome offer got declined. When I asked them for the specific reason, they just started to make excuse like : " You had an AMEX credit card closed BEFORE applying this AMEX Gold card. '' - I never closed any of my AMEX card before, they later changed their words when I pointed this out. I tried to contact AMEX multiple times earlier regarding this issue and I attached the recording from one of the phone call I made to them, which confirmed I DO have this welcome offer. Complaint: Called to cancel my American Express card. Was told by the representative that my annual fee would be waived if I cancelled, but then was informed that I would lose my companion passes if I did so. So, I did not cancel at that time XXXX read : he was able to " save the account '' ). Then, when I called to cancel today, I was informed that I was one day outside of my window and I would be required to pay the fee. When I was on the phone with the first representative, he never informed me that I had a specific window to close the account without penalty. I am convinced he did so to save his numbers and not get dinged for a lost card.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I made a payment in the amount of {$1900.00} and the agent said that my charging privileges would be restored on this card. I have 4 cards and they were all behind on payments which the agent and I discussed prior to making the payment. The agent assured me that I would be able to use the card on my vacation after the payment cleared from my bank in about 2 days. I was not able to use the card and I called Amex to see why, the agent said that she needed to call my bank and confirm the payment was taken out, we did a 3 way call and verified that in was taken and applied to my account. She then tried to release the hold and restore my charging ability but she could not. She elevated it to a supervisor and that I should call back. When I called back they said that they would not be able to restore my charging, because the other accounts were in default and offered me a full refund of the payment since the payment was made under false pretense. They reviewed the recorded conversation with myself and the agent and agreed that he was not truth-full when I made the payment and assured me that the refund was issued. When the refund did not arrive in the mail within 10 business days I called back and they assured me that refund would be deposited directly to my bank account and apologized for the delay. I gave them my account information and it was supposed to arrive in 3 - 5 business days. When it did not arrive again I called and another supervisor assured me that it would be refunded by mail and that I would get it in 7 - 10 business days. 3rd attempt dated XX/XX/XXXX, ref # XXXX. As of this date American Express has not issued my refund as promised. They have not restored my charging privileges and have been dishonest in their business practices on several occasions. I would like to have my refund refunded. Several times members and supervisory members have been dishonest and not truth-full in the way they have interacted with this consumer. Thank you.

Complaint: American Express promotes to new credit card holder to sign up for its Platinum personal credit card with an annual fee, and the new cardholder will receive XXXX welcome bonus points XXXX to XXXX weeks after meeting the spending requirement of {$5000.00} and satisfying its terms within 90 days of opening the account. I had met the requirement and company has not given me the bonus points after XXXX weeks and telling me to wait for another XXXX to XXXX weeks, despite me contacting them 4 times and their reps told me repeatedly the bonus will post in XXXX to XXXX weeks. American Express finally opened a case on XX/XX/2019 and I was told it would take XXXX weeks to work on the case, but it usually would be much quicker. After checking with them each week for the last XXXX weeks, I was told they are still working on the case. It has been around XXXX weeks and I don't know if they will honor their agreement or not.

Complaint: In late XX/XX/XXXX ( or earlyXX/XX/XXXX ), I opened an American Express Credit Card account for the purpose of transferring some credit card balances to the XXXX Credit Card account. All of the transfers went fine, except for one. One particular credit card balance was from XXXX XXXX XXXX for the amount of {$1300.00}. I was not able to complete this on-line, so I called the balance transfer department at American Express and completed the transfer over the phone. I then received a letter from XXXX XXXX, dated XX/XX/XXXX, stating that they received a payment for {$1300.00} that went to an unknown account ( See Attachment 1 ). This transfer also appears as going to XXXX 's on my XXXX statement ( see Attachment 2 ). I subsequently called XXXX 's thinking they would refund the payment to XXXX or directly to me, but they wouldn't speak with me because I do not have a XXXX 's account and they had no way to identify me and suggested I contact XXXX. I then called XXXX and they told me they would investigate the matter and assured me this error would be corrected. A few weeks later, I called XXXX back because I had not heard back from them and they again told me they would investigate the matter. I subsequently received a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX of this pending investigation ( See Attachment 3 ). I then received another letter from XXXX, dated XX/XX/XXXX, that that they have completed their investigation and that essentially the funds were deposited with the instructions provided ( See Attachment 4 ). I subsequently called XXXX to obtain clarification, but I was continually passed around from department to department and no one could help me. I have confirmed with XXXX that they have not received any payment from XXXX ( see Attachment 5 that has the last 4 numbers of my XXXX account number ). I have confirmed there is no reversal for this balance transfer showing on my XXXX credit card. I have no way of knowing what XXXX XXXX has done with the money. I want XXXX 's to refund the money that XXXX sent them mistakenly and then I want XXXX to credit my account for the {$1300.00} amount.

Complaint: I WENT TO AN ATM MACHINE ON XX/XX/2019 AND TRIED TO GET {$220.00} AND THE MACHINE DID NOT DISPENSE THE MONEY. I ASKED THE CASHIER IF THEY STILL HAD NOT PUT ANY MONEY IN THE MACHINE SINCE I HAD GONE A DAY PRIOR AND I WAS TOLD IT DIDN'T HAVE ANY MONEY, SHE RESPONDED YES A TECHNICIAN CAME AND PUT MONEY IN IT. I ASSUMED THAT MAYBE I DID SOMETHING WRONG AND I TRIED AGAIN FOR THE {$220.00} AND IT STILL DIDN'T GIVE ME THE MONEY. I MENTIONED TO THE CASHIER THAT IT DIDN'T GIVE ME ANY MONEY SHE TOLD ME THAT SHE BELIEVED THAT THE TECHNICIAN PROBABLY DID SOMETHING WRONG BECAUSE THERE WAS OTHER CUSTOMERS COMPLAINING THEY COULD'NT WITHDRAW MONEY AS WELL. LATER THAT DAY I TRIED TO SEE HOW MUCH MONEY I HAD LEFT IN MY AMERICAN EXPRESS CARD AND I WAS MISSING MONEY, SO WHEN I LOOKED INTO MY TRANSACTION I WAS SEEING THAT IT WAS SHOWING THAT I DEDUCTED TWICE THE {$220.00} WHEN I NEVER GOT MY MONEY DISPENSED FROM THE ATM MACHINE. I CALLED THE ATM COMPANY AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE PROBLEM THAT THE MONEY WAS NEVER DISPENSED HE ASKED ME FOR THE AMOUNT AND THE LAST FOUR OF MY CREDIT CARD NUMBER, WHEN I PROVIDED HIM WITH THIS INFORMATION HE TOLD ME THAT IN FACT THEY HAD A PROBLEM BUT THAT THE MONEY WAS ALREADY IN REVERSAL THAT I SHOULD RECEIVE MY MONEY IN 24 TO 48 HOURS AND IT NEVER HAPPENED. IN THE MEANTIME I ALSO CALLED THE AMERICAN EXPRESS CARD AND PUT A DISPUTE FOR THE MONEY SO I FAXED THEM THE DISPUTE FORM EXPLAINING ALL THE PROBLEM AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WERE GOING TO INVESTIGATE. I RECEIVED A RESPONSE FROM AMERICAN EXPRESS SUPPOSEDLY THAT THEY MADE THE INVESTIGATION AND THAT SUPPOSEDLY THE ATM PROVIDER CONFIRMED THE FUNDS WERE DISPENSED. I GOT VERY UPSET SO I CALLED THE ATM COMPANY AGAIN AND TOLD THEM WHAT AMERICAN EXPRESS HAD TOLD ME AND THEY SAID THAT NO THAT THE MONEY WAS IN REVERSAL, SO I ASKED THEM TO SEND ME PROOF OF THAT SO I COULD SHOW AMERICAN EXPRESS SO I CAN GET MY MONEY SO WHEN I CALLED AMERICAN EXPRESS THEY WANTED ME TO DO ANOTHER DISPUTE WHICH IS REALLY UPSETTING BECAUSE THEY ARE TAKING ALONG TIME AND I REALLY NEED MY MONEY. Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I noticed a charge that I was not familiar with so I immediately call bluebird American Express at XXXX. A male IVR picked up and said they are expecting higher than normal call volume or they can not answer right now, and it disconnects after 5 seconds. I thought that was very strange and unacceptable. So once I got off from work, I kept calling and a woman IVR picks up also and NEVER EVER gives me the option to speak with a live representative. Between XXXX and XXXX I made six call attempts until I gave up and said Ill just call back tomorrow. My last call was this morning, XX/XX/XXXX : same result. I have made over 25 phone call attempts in 7 days. I have even dialed the international number to no avail, and reached out to Bluebird Amex on XXXX, and they advised me to call the same non-working number XXXX. My phone number was provided through our XXXX exchange, and I told the person on the other side of the screen what was going on, yet no one contacted me to resolve anything.. That is unacceptable. If a business is holding my funds or if I am their client, I should be able to reach them anytime during operation hours!!!! Especially if I suspect fraudulent activity!!!! I have never had any issues with Bluebird and I love them, but this first-time problem is major, and intolerable! I also think it is ridiculous that I can not email, live chat or reach someone alternatively -- only through an XXXX number or through XXXX!

Complaint: I had my temporary card from american express serve and used a few times before it just kept getting declined, I called customer service explained that my card seemed to be no good because it was not working she then told me my balance and it was XXXX dollars less than it should have been, at that time I explained that o haven't been able to even use my card and that those charges where not correct. She then told me activate new card and money would just reappear basically, and I knew at that point she either did not understand what I was saying or was wrong. I called again got transferred to fraud and was told same thing activate new card not addressing the XXXX missing and then hanging up. I've sent emails to every american express email I could find and from what it seem they want nothing to do with recovering my money. The transactions are listed below. Complaint: I have received invitation from American Express to transfer {$4000.00} with promotional 0 % APR for 6 month. I decided to except this offer. On XXXX/XXXX/19 I talked to representative regarding this. He helped me to calculate exact amount I can transfer to my XXXX XXXX XXXX credit card. ( {$3800.00} ) to avoid go over {$4000.00} as AmEx offered. My XXXX XXXX XXXX due date is XX/XX/19 so I called to transfer funds 10 days in advance to avoid interest fees on my XXXX XXXX XXXX credit card. Representative from American Express said that transfer went ok. BUT on XX/XX/19 I called my XXXX XXXX XXXX card and found that transfer was not completed. THAN I CALLED AMERICAN EXPRESS AND ANOTHER REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME THAT THIS AMOUNT {$3800.00} CAN NOT BE TRANSFERRED, BUT ONLY {$3000.00}. THEY DID NOT NOTIFY ME ABOUT THIS POLICY AT FIRST CALL, NOT ON NEXT DAY, NOT BY MAIL. THEY DID NOT DO TRANSFER. They did not transfer {$3000.00} at least. They did nothing. AS RESULT of such American Express bad service I ACCUMULATED INTEREST CHARGES ON MY XXXX XXXX XXXX CREDIT CARD.
