Credit inquiries on your report that you don't recognize
Complaint: I checked my credit report to find several unauthorized hard inquiries without permissible purpose by American Express on the following dates : XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX,XX/XX/XXXX,XX/XX/XXXX, andXX/XX/XXXX. I only applied for ONE card with American Express on XX/XX/XXXX and for which I was approved but then AFTER my approval I was hit with 5 additional inquires that I did not authorize nor give any permissible purpose to access. When I contacted American Express they informed me that these would be " soft inquiries '' and that they would " fall off '' within 3-5 business days. They indeed are NOT " soft inquiries '' and have not " fallen off '' in 3-5 business days. Therefore it is my specific request that they be removed from my XXXX report as I did not give any permissible purpose for them to access my credit report past the date of XX/XX/XXXX.

Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Complaint: To Whom It May Concern, On XX/XX/XXXX I decided to purchase a roundtrip plane ticket with XXXX XXXX from XXXX to XXXX. The plane ticket was purchased at around XXXX local time. Early the next morning I realized I had to change the timing of one of the flights and called to make the change. I was told by the phone representative there would be a change fee. I inquired about the fact that whenever Ive flown another airline I was able to change or cancel my flights within 24 hours for no fee. I asked about canceling the whole ticket and rebooking online. I was told there would be a cancelation fee as well. With a feeling of remorse and feeling disgusted, I relented and paid the fee. This occurred before XXXX on XXXX XXXX, XXXX, a mere 12 hours after the booking. The total amount for the change fee was {$560.00}.
Some time after this, when meeting with a colleague who is a lawyer, he pointed and explained to me how theres a US law that explicitly states that ANY airline, domestic or foreign, that is traveling TO or FROM the US must allow 24 hours free cancelation to whoever books a ticket originating or departing from the US. After learning this I was outraged. I called XXXX XXXX demanding a refund for the change fee and was told no. I decided to dispute the change fee transaction with American Express, the company I decided to charge that transaction with. I submitted a written explanation along a copy of the US law. I was told no. I resubmitted the information a second time along with another explanation and was told no over email. I cant get a hold of anybody from the disputes department, and theres no way anybody can pass a message. I decided to cancel this specific account with American Express and Im becoming an advocate for people not to use their cards. However, they are not proceeding in the correct way since they are not siding with me in this particular case, a US citizen following US law. My goal with this complaint is to hear directly from American Express fraud and disputes department with an explanation of why they are not siding with me and not following US laws and regulations. It is amazing that a foreign company is ripping off a US citizen, and the American company responsible for helping me is siding with a foreign company.
Sincerely, XXXX XXXX XXXX

Problem with rewards from credit card
Complaint: I opened a bunch of american express credit card because of an advertisement they were putting all over the internet to get XXXX points if you spend $ XXXX on the card. The platinum card cost {$450.00} a year but being that they offer {$200.00} worth of travel credit I decided it was worth it for me to get the card. So I signed up for XXXX cards and spent the $ XXXX on each card as agreed upon in the offer. When the reward hit my account I used them to book a first class ticket however each time I booked the ticket I was told a few hours later that the ticket was cancelled. long story short american express decided that I was not entitles to the rewards they promised and charged my card a WHOPPING {$22000.00} in order for them to get the points back in my account. In other words. After I used my points american express deducted XXXX points making my account negative a bunch of points. Three weeks after my card was closed they charged my card {$22000.00} to put the points back in my account.
My card was closed and I did n't give them any right to charge my card. If they believe I should have not gotten the bonus they could have argued that. But to charge my card without my consent is FRAUD, conversion and wire fraud!

Problem with rewards from credit card
Complaint: When i try to credit my american express blue cash credit card and other american express cards with my rewards dollars the reward dollar site page does not let me credit my account. Only when i call american express and complain they fix the problem right away and i can then credit my account. This happens about 50 % of the time i try to use my rewards dollars to credit my bill. I believe this is done to frustrate the card holder from requesting reward dollars credit. This occurred again today X/X/17. I am sure this is a common practice with american express card holders.

Account information incorrect
Complaint: I made arrangements for credit card payments last year w ith Amex and representatives advised that my credit would not be reported as " negative '' as long as I kept the arrangements. A manager pretended to have listed to the phone calls were I was misleaded and now my credit report shows 120+ late payments which could have been avoided if Amex had provided correct information to me and reported the payments as agreed. Amex reported late payments to credit bureaus when I was making payments under their payment plans. Amex denie d removing false data.

Can't use card to make purchases
Complaint: The issue occurred in two phases : The both concern American Express.
Phase I which was submitted to the BBB in New York : reference to old card ends in XXXX new card ends in XXXX, The issues commenced in mid XX/XX/XXXX. I had a Platinum Card ending in XXXX ( old card ). It was compromised by fraud. I called amex and they advised that they would issue a replacement card. I did n't understand it at the time, but they advised that they would have to issue what is technically a new card rather than a replacement card because amex had run out of new number sequences, so they had to get a new sequence. They assured me that it was a mere technicality. They would not be doing a new credit review and nothing at all would change on my end i.e. I would have the same credit limit, and all other things would be the same. However, nothing was the same. By doing this, amex did in fact, treat me as a brand new customer. I had a credit limit of approximately {$15000.00}, built up over time. I was given a " new limit '' of {$1500.00}. I have since built it to {$2500.00}. That is not what I bargained for and not what I received. I have placed around 15 customer service calls to amex. Sometimes, the rep says that amex had a " glitch ''. Sometimes, they just say that there is nothing that they can do. Sometimes they have said that as I pay down my old card, and the credit limit will automatically increase on the new account. This latter statement has proved to be completely false. The above is very significant. Specifically, the way that amex works is that I have to pay off the full amount each month. So, with the credit that I had built, I would pay down my amex, and at the same time, get new credit with which to spend. I use this a great deal in my business. My average pay is more than {$1000.00} per weekday. However, now, when I make pay-downs on the old card, I get no credit at all on the new card. So, to keep my business going, I have to be making the payments on the new card, in order to have credit available. At the same time, I have to pay on the old card, as it has to be fully paid off within a month. Sometimes, the amex people have tried to be nice. Sometimes, they have made no such effort and have been very rude. However, this is 100 pct an Amex mistake, about which, they do, intermittently acknowledge that fact. Each of the above calls have lasted an average of an hour. So, I have had around 15 hours of my time wasted in the past few weeks. Further, as above stated, quite often, they have been very rude. And, most important, I have gotten nowhere. Given the above statements and assurances that amex made, the amex statements constitute a material misrepresentations, which have greatly harmed me and caused me lost time and financial strain. In order to try to resolve this issue, on XX/XX/XXXX, I sent an email to XXXX XXXX, CEO of Amex. It outlined the issues as set forth herein. The most honest and productive of statements made occurred just today with an amex rep, who did understand the problem and issues. Her suggestion was to go to another company and switch my balance over. I do n't want to do that. I paid {$450.00} in annual fees to get the benefits of this card, which amex has deprived me of by virtue of their ineptitude.
During the ensuring couple of months, I was faced with retiring one credit card while making use and paying off the other credit card. Putting me in such position was not fair and not consistent with what American Express represented it was doing. To the contrary, I received a letter from Amex explaining that I had misunderstood the issue. Rather, as I paid down one card, more credit was issued on the new card. That was n't, however, accurate. I was n't provided a nickel 's worth of additional credit as I had the burden of paying the first card and using the second one. I did return a certain number of checks in attempting in good faith to accomplish the above. One recent check was an auto pay in the approximate amount of {$340.00}. There were two other payments made thru XXXX XXXX of XXXX and XXXX, respectively. I called Amex, who advised me of the above. I told them that there was an error with XXXX as I had money in the bank. I asked to call XXXX. The rep, named XXXX, declined and did so in the most offensive of fashions. She clearly did n't believe me. She stated that they would only accept a letter from XXXX. I then called XXXX who advised that I was correct, however, they did not issue such letters. They did, however, offer to be patched in with Amex. I tied XXXX in with Amex and spoke to XXXX. She was verbally abusive to myself and the rep at XXXX. I asked for the opportunity to have the XXXX rep speak to her. She declined and said that she would only accept a letter. The XXXX rep and I both told her that XXXX would n't write such a letter but that XXXX would speak to them. She hung up without saying a word. Both the XXXX rep and I were taken aback. i called Amex back and explained that XXXX would speak to them but would n't write a letter. The rep apologized, but advised that per the advice provided by rep XXXX, a letter would be required. This was of extreme import to me because in response to the above returned items, Amex cancelled my account.
I find their course of dealings to be both dishonest, condescending and unfair. Many of their reps are now very challenged in terms of speaking and understanding English. I have nothing against people who speak a foreign language first. My wife is XXXX, and English is her second language. However, the first issue is that the above has brought down the customer service of amex, which, at one point in time, was good. Second, as can be heard if they recorded the latter calls to which I referred, their reps are rude and condescending. Rep XXXX came just short of insinuading that I was lying when speaking of the XXXX issue -- I was n't.
I have paid Amex a lot of money -- much more than had my cards been correctly merged in the first instance. I do n't deny being strained at times in doing so -- but I made the payments, nevertheless. However, the returned items of today were not of my doing. they were on XXXX for the reason that follows : what occurred was that I made a deposit into XXXX from another XXXX account. XXXX agreed at the time of the deposit that there would be no hold on the account, as it was from another XXXX account, and it had a lot of money in it. Inadvertently, XXXX did put a hold on the account. That resulted in the return items. Had Rep XXXX been a tad less rude and agreed to tie in XXXX, she would have learned that the above was the truth.

Complaint: AMERICAN EXPRESS XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, TX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Date opened : XX/XX/XXXX Account number XXXX Date opened : XX/XX/XXXX AMERICAN EXPRESS XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, TX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Date opened XX/XX/XXXX Account number XXXX Paid, Closed.
AMEX has reported negatively on all four credit bureaus preventing me from obtaining any credit, since I filed a complaint against them with CFPB in XX/XX/XXXX. AMEX has already reported my {$0.00} balance on both accounts earlier this year, but never with a negative remark until now, as if my two accounts were active. XXXX, XXXX XXXX, and XXXX XXXX have confirmed they would not give me credit due to AMEX 's negative notes. I have their telephone numbers and they can confirm my statement is true.

AMEX has reported to all four credit bureaus that I failed to pay them as of XX/XX/XXXX. It appears they are trying to keep these two, 15 year old charge offs as a current, surpassing the 7 year limit according to the FRCA by any illegal means possible.
Both accounts have been closed and delinquent since XX/XX/XXXX, but they have reported this differently on my credit file, so they can have an affect on my credit surpassing 15+ years.
The Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), 15 U.S.C. 1681 et seq. prepared by the Federal Trade Commission : this is the law that gives you access to your credit file, allows you to dispute errors on your credit report ( s ), and limits the reporting of negative information to 7 years ( 10 years if were talking bankruptcy more info here. ) AMEX has broken the FCRA! Please have them remove these two delinquent charges off from all four credit bureaus ( XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX ).
Please have AMEX remove both accounts off all four credit bureaus and send me a letter as conformation.
Enclosed in my previous credit report from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX, and please review the difference their recent negative notation reported on XX/XX/XXXX -- on all four credit bureaus.
Sincerely, XXXX XXXX XXXX
