Complaint: In XXXX I was in a serious car accident, I had a XXXX XXXX that required me to be put in a XXXX. My american express account was being paid by my father, but due to XXXX payments being late a few times the account was paid late. A collection Specialist from American Express was assigned to the account, he spoke to my father and was told of my situation, however this man harassed my father, called my employer over and over again demanding them to have me call, he called my elderly father-in-law at his rest home and made him cry, he called friends of mine, he was told over and over that I was in a XXXX in the hospital and could not come to the phone. this collections specialist then closed the account that had been open since XXXX. Originally it was my fathers account and when I was in College he added me to the account for emergencies, somehow years ago I was made the principal. Now because of this when my father tried to pay the account off this collections specialist would not allow him to do so, stating he had to speak to me directly even though I was unavailable in the hospital in a XXXX. I have now paid for 3 extra months of interest due to this collections specialist not allowing the pay-off by my father. Every call you place to American Express is routed to this man, you can not speak to a supervisor or anyone else once you give the account number they just transfer you to him. He is abusive, he berates me for not calling him back, for avoiding his calls all this time, he is the party that closed the account and his unkind failure to understand the medical situation I was in is reprehensible. American express has allowed this man to operate outside the boundaries of normal collection practice, he has provided to outside parties that my account is in collection and past due, harassed my work, family, friends all outside the boundries of the law. Now today I tried to call myself, even though I am unable to really speak great, I forget words, it takes me time to explain myself, I must think before every word, but all I got was this mans abuse. He called me back for over an hour every couple of minutes and hung up on me, he pretended to be someone else, when I asked his name over a few times he finally said his name and hung up. I need to pay this account off but can not get anyone to help.

Complaint: I already tried last week to open and account at American Express and within a second the person assisted me told me ( declined ) again. <P/>I respectfully, ask the CFPB to release the disclosure financial balance on my account information that, I have on file with the CFPB. I have legal right to receive the disclosure financial statement, the balance on my own record with CFPB. I feel, I have been discriminated for any reason what so ever. I also have legal right to received my personal Disclosure financial record. I also request the American Express to transfer my money or my wife money in to my account or her account. I have legal right to receive my disclosure file with CFPB and American Express Bank. I have rights under FCRA and fraud alert as well.

Complaint: someone hacked my online account on XX/XX/XXXX with American Express Serve. I had my debit card from another account linked to the XXXX card, that person transferred {$100.00} to my XXXX card. XXXX ( my phone company ) withdrew that amount & more the same day. I filed a dispute with XXXX because XXXX was n't suppose to take that much off my card. I called a week from XX/XX/XXXX to find out what was going on with the dispute & a rep at XXXX told me that the dispute was closed & there was nothing they could do because XXXX had took the money off the card. So I paid off my debit card & moved on. On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX so called " transferred '' the {$100.00} back to my debit card. I was not aware that a investigation was still being done. As of XX/XX/XXXX I have n't received the money on either card & have been given the run around about what they are doing next. I asked to dispute it & I asked for the money back many of times. XXXX states that another department is reviewing it & all of my transactions on my account. I was told on XX/XX/XXXX, it took 7 to 10 days to review my account. I asked for emails to be sent to that department & still have n't heard anything regarding this situation

Complaint: I am in the process of resolving all of my credit card debt. I employed XXXX XXXX XXXX to mediate the process. I make consistent monthly payments so that they can negotiate repayment of my credit card debt. On the outset, I was told American Express do not settle debt. Therefore, I am not disputing my balance with AMEX. I am willing to pay what I owe to them. <P/>I was summons to court by XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX. regarding the {$3200.00} past due balance I owe AMEX. My court date was XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX. I checked in with the clerk at XXXX XXXX. By XXXX I was n't I proceeded to checkin with the clerk again and was told XXXX entered a default judgment against me because I did not appear in court. That is a false statement. The ourselves did not call my name to discuss a resolution. <P/>The day prior to my court date, a arranged with AMEX or XXXX collection department to make a {$300.00} payment on-demand and recurring $ XXXX monthly installments via ACH through XX/XX/XXXX. The last debit from my bank account will be {$230.00} on XX/XX/XXXX ( confirmation # XXXX ). I called XXXX XXXX XXXX office back to 1 ) inform them of the repayment arrangement and 2 ) to verify whether a court appearance would be necessary. XXXX 's refused to verify my payment arrangement except to say they can not give legal advise. <P/>I feel deceived and harassed by XXXX XXXX XXXX. After the clerk tried to call the counsel to return because I was in fact in the courtroom on XX/XX/XXXX she would not return ; however she entered a default judgment against me. I received another summons to appear in court - a continued return date on Friday, XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX. XXXX another cost of XXXX in addition to the $ XXXX monthly installment agreement between XXXX XXXX XXXX staff and me on XX/XX/XXXX. <P/>I am willing to repay the debt I owe. I hired XXXX XXXX XXXX to assist me so that I can avoid numerous calls from creditors at my home. It is a huge inconvenience to me to travel miles to court and miss a half day of work because the collection agency refuse to verify and perform due diligence on this account in which I plan to pay AMEX the entire past due balance. The collection practices appears to be unfair, deceptive, misleading and abusive. Can someone help me with this matter? <P/>I attached documentation that refects XXXX 's deceptive abusive practices along with payments they debited from my bank account {$600.00} to-date. The statement in XXXX 1 attachment is not true. I was in the courtroom 15 minutes prior to my appointed time. The Counsel did not call for me and proceeded to file a judgment against me.

Complaint: On XXXX XXXX, 2017 around XXXX XXXX to XXXX XXXX or so I was at a XXXX XXXX Drive through ATM at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, IA XXXX. I attempted to withdraw {$80.00} from my Bluebird Debit Card ending in XXXX at this ATM. The ATM declined my transaction several times. On the first decline, it said " processing transaction '' for a long time. Then it said the transaction could not be processed. I switched to my XXXX Debit Card ending in XXXX and the ATM ate my card and the keypad did not work. I kept tapping the touchscreen and it released my card. I attempted the transaction again and it was successful on my XXXX ATM card. So the transaction was not successful with my Bluebird Debit Card but successful on my XXXX ATM Card. The problem is when I got home I was charged an {$80.00} withdrawal on both of my cards. I went into the bank around XXXX on XXXX XXXX, 2017 and I told them the issue. I also told them that Bluebird said it will take 45 days to complete the investigation. I asked them to go through the ATM footage to speed up the process. They admitted they have been having multiple issues with their ATM but due to regulations I would have to go through the disputes process with Bluebird. Bluebird completed their investigation and said they could not refund the charge because XXXX XXXX told them the transaction was successful. I asked them for documents they used to make their decision. I want XXXX XXXX to go through their ATM footage and ATM logs so they can see the transaction never took place. <P/>I am reporting this to you because this is theft and I am considering legal action against XXXX XXXX. I am just waiting for Bluebird to send the appropriate documents. I am also writing this in an attempt to protect other consumers that use this ATM. The bank acknowledged that many customers have had issues with their ATM, yet they allow it to function and continue stealing other people 's hard earned money. This is not a vending machine stealing a quarter or two, this is an ATM stealing people 's livelihood. They need to repair this ATM and stop allowing it to function without appropriate repairs. They also need to stop defrauding consumers with this ATM. <P/>I received an update from XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX stating that I am correct that the ATM never dispensed any funds. They sent me evidence which I have attached to this email. They also said they have no records of Bluebird contacting them. So BlueBird lied to me when they said they closed the dispute after they contacted XXXX. XXXX XXXX has denied this claim by Bluebird. XXXX XXXX also agrees with me that their ATM did not dispense any funds, yet Bluebird still charged me for the withdrawal. XXXX XXXX has provided evidence which I have attached to this dispute.

Complaint: Hello I 'm having an issue with Amex I paid my bill on time with perfect payment history using the card to fund my business as I was allowed to do then they decided to cut my card off which is fine. I called and explained to them that by cutting off my card slows my business processing and I would need time to pay the bill. They said they could n't help me and I needed to pay in full I explained I paid you guys perfect for a year and I 'm not trying to not pay I need more time to pay so I set up a few payment arrangements in which I kept and paid. They told me I was n't paying enough I never missed a payment I paid them what I could every month nobody would work with me. I 'm currently in the middle of buying my home and saw my score decrease tremendously and could n't understand what happen which puts me in jeopardy of loosing my home ownership opportunity. I reviewed my report and Amex placed a collection on my report with no phone call or debt validation letter. I supposed to close on my house this Fri XX/XX/XXXX and now I 'm not sure what will happen. I paid them and never missed any payment and I explained to them I could n't pay in full but I am trying to resolve the debt and nobody would help. I do n't think its fair that I take that big of a hit for a debt that I been continuing to pay and they not acknowledging my efforts or even offer a solution to help but to just place a collection on my report without any notice

Complaint: On XX/XX/17, I transferred money from my amex reserve savings to my main account to pay two utility bills. Once I transferred the money, I noticed when I tried to make payment it declined. So I logged back into my account to make sure I had transferred the correct amount and I saw three XXXX charges totalling XXXX from store # XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in New Mexico. I live in North Carolina and I have n't been to XXXX in weeks. I was upset because this has never happened to me. I call the number on the back of card, the first associate does n't even truly listen to my complaint she just says that there is nothing she can do I would have to wait till 3 days for it to clear. I asked to speak with a manager cause it was obvious she did n't even take the time to understand my complaint so when the manager gets on the line. I pretty much get the same spill but was livid after I explained to her that there is no way I could have made those charges and I need my money credited back, she tells me based on your transaction history this could have been something you done. I began to cry and scream at that moment because that was rude. My transactions history had nothing to do with fraudulent activity so then she says let me research it cause the fraud team wo n't open up till XXXX Eastern time. So after she reviews my transactions she ask where I live and I told her and she says that it looks like these transactions were made at the store in NM and this is fraud. So that morning I call the fraud line wanting to understand how this could have happened. To be told that it 's still pending watch my account to see if it clears or not if it does then call back and they will do an investigation and it could take 7 to 10 business days. They did not reverse charges clearly seeing that there was no way that I could have made those purchases. There were three that came through at the same time and it was obvious fraud. She told me to call the store and see if they can look into it and block the charges from coming off. To my understanding that is what they are supposed to do. I had no success with getting anyone to assist from XXXX accounting department to help and it 's frustrating as this was my utility bill money. They do n't care cause it 's not them. All she could offer to do was send me another card. Why would I want to continue to do service with a company who does n't even protect my money from fraud?? I am disgusted, upset and have no faith in using my debit card with them or anyone else for fear that I wo n't get the help I need.

Complaint: I am an American Express XXXX platinum cardholder and have been the victim of fraudulent advertising., I received a promotion targeted offer from American Express in XXXX , 2016 promising me XXXX bonus miles and XXXX XXXX qualifying miles if I spent {$75000.00} on their card in 2016 . I registered for the promotion and spent the qualify g {$75000.00}. I have never received the promised bonus or XXXX miles. I have called American Express repeatedly and have received a variety of answers including : yes they see the promotion and wait, the miles are on the way ; they see the promotion but do n't know why I have n't gotten the miles ; references to a computer glitch and no notes in the record regarding my disputes ; promises of supervisory callbacks that never happen ; and today XXXX at Am Ex advised me no such promotion existed. I have a copy of the promotion and a record of the different employees I spoke with along with their employee ID number. I will attach my documentation.

Complaint: hi I 'm on payment program with American express from XX/XX/XXXXthey setup the payment to be withdrew automatically from my XXXX account every month i just receive a letter from them says I 'm no longer on this program i try to speak to them on the phone why they cancel it they tolled me sorry we do not have access to your account no more and they send the balance to a collection agency, upon check my XXXX account today i found they stop to withdrew the payment last XX/XX/XXXX they did not call me or send me any notice for why they stop taking the payment and why they cancel me from this payment agreement, I 'm enrolled in auto-payment since i start this program i never cancel it, and onXX/XX/XXXX i did call you to ask if i need to renew the auto-payment the representative tolled me no i do n't need too its been setup till the balance payed off ( check my call recored with you ) and you did verify my phone number and email address on this call. no one tolled me i have enrolled again since I 'm already enrolled on this program and because you tolled me when i setup this program with you the system will automatically send you statements and balances and notification even if the account closed and I 'm on payment program, i did not receive any calls from you about any change on our agreement and i just call you less on month of your notice onXX/XX/XXXX so i assume this is automatically from you system as you tolled me account number XXXX

Complaint: I opened a fraud dispute on XX/XX/XXXX, 2017 for a charge that occurred in XX/XX/XXXX 2017 I visited what I believed to be a law firm licensed in the state of New York to handle a law suit on my behalf. The representative made a photo copy of my card and charged {$1000.00}. <P/>I found out about a week later that they had no license to practice law anywhere in the United States - a Felony. <P/>The representives then attempted to make 3 additional charges for {$1000.00} all of which were unauthorized and blocked. <P/>I made many attempts to request my money back since they had no ability to perform the advertised services and the advertised services were never able to be performed, since they have no license to practice law. <P/>I opened a dispute with American Express and requested an immediate chargeback since it was pure fraud. <P/>I spoke for more than 3 hours to various AMEX employees all of which refused to do anything. One individual in particular XXXX ( Employee ID number : XXXX ) was especially reckless should be charged with aiding and abetting fraud. <P/>I demand my money back now and regulatory action taken against XXXX and AMEX for refusing to resolve this issue.

Complaint: I have talked to American Express two separate times attempting to explain that I have been XXXX and have not had a XXXX in 6 months. Every time they talk to me they ignore what I have to say until the point that I agree to receive a payment to an account that I have made clear is empty. I feel pressured to agree to this and have been given no alternative by American Express. American Express also has harassed my family from a phone number that I have made clear to them is not a number I want them to call from. They frequently call as often as three times a day.

Complaint: I 've filed multiple requests for incorrect data from American Express on my XXXX credit report to be corrected or DELETED. This data is for the two American Express Account # 's as listed on the attached copies of my credit reports. These two accounts were both PAID IN FULL on XXXX XXXX XXXX and confirmed by the attorney representing American Express ( see attached letter from attorney, dated XXXX XXXX, XXXX ). It 's been well over 80 days since I filed my recent complaint on XXXX XXXX, XXXX and the data has still not be corrected on my report. Over the last several months American Express has posted multiple incorrect dates the most damaging being on one of the accounts with the date of XXXX XXXX as the last pay date and last date of " in collection status '' and the other account with a XXXX XXXX date. As a result these incorrect entries have damaged my credit score and ability to secure a refinance on my mortgage. I 'm requesting both accounts be DELETED based on the FCRA rules and time limitations on correcting errors on Credit Reports. Again ... These two accounts were paid in full on XXXX XXXX, XXXX and confirmed by their attorney, via the attached letter!

Complaint: My XXXX AMEX credit card charged me for late fee of {$27.00} and interest charge of {$21.00} stating that my electronic bank payment of {$1200.00} posted on XX/XX/XXXX on my AMEX credit card account when it was due on XX/XX/XXXX. However, per Proof of Payment document from XXXX XXXX, my electronic payment was sent on XX/XX/XXXX. <P/>When I call to inquire about the changes, I was informed by an AMEX rep in the XXXX that a 3rd party vendor of the bank did n't process the electronic transfer in time before the due date, and that it was the fault of my Bank. I explained that did not make any sense because I had requested the electronic transfer be delivered by XX/XX/XXXX. <P/>Later, I called XXXX XXXX regarding the issue and per the Proof of Payment document, the payment was indeed sent to AMEX electronically on XX/XX/XXXX to AmEx. However, it was AMEX who did not process it until XX/XX/XXXX. <P/>Here 's another scam by a credit card company to defraud customers by charging erroneous late fees and interest fees. In this case, I have paper trail to verify exactly when payment was effectively sent electronically. <P/>Customers beware!

Complaint: Kindly review the document attached to this email, in support of andregarding my complaint against American Express as follows : I was told by XXXX XXXX Tutoring that they did not receive a charge on my card in the amount of {$700.00} from American Express. As a result, I sent them a check for that amount plus another amount for another service. When I contacted American Express after seeing that I was charged the {$700.00}, American Express was supposed to give me a credit but did not. I am demanding American Express give me my {$700.00} credit on my card as I was told they did not give the money to XXXX XXXX , I paid XXXX XXXX separately, and I h ave all of the documents to prove it. <P/><P/> Desired Outcome : Permanent {$700.00} credit back on my card, as I already paid XXXX XXXX via check since I was told American Express did not pay them.
