Complaint: I applied for and received an individual and a business credit card from American Express cobranded with XXXX XXXX. As part of sign up promotion American Express offer clearly states that I am entitled to a five night and two stay credit with XXXX toward elite status for each card ( individual and business ) .see attached terms and email confirming terms from XXXX . I received credit for XXXX card but not the other over one month after account opening. I contacted American Express on XX/XX/XXXX requesting the credit. AMEX representative acknowledged the terms but told me to contact starwood. I contacted Starwood ambassador service XX/XX/XXXX and received an email response ( attached ) telling me I need to contact AMEX. I contacted AMEX on XX/XX/XXXX and spoke with representative named XXXX who told me that XXXX is responsible for this award. See Amex terms that clearly lay out this offer. Since this is Amex terms and the card is cobranded AMEX card I request that Amex fulfill its obligations as per attached terms. Complaint: American Express offer to enroll me to automatic accident insurance every time I booked a ticket under my card. In the past, I kept on complaining that I should not be charged for insurance if the plane ticket is not under my name. I trust them that they will not charge me because I already placed several complains about this. So what I noticed whenever I had a chance of checking my charges I saw some automatic insurance charge and I even have a record in their system about my complain. Again, I saw some charges these past few months and I was told that the policy of the insurance company who is Amex partner change that every time a plane ticket is charged regardless if its me or not will be charged with automatic accident insurance fee. I was told that they send letter about it and XXXX me because I fail to read it, I am now penalized for automatic accident insurance regardless who is the passenger. I 'm not a lawyer but this is a sneaky way of doing business with a loyal client for the past 15 years. If I will enter into an insurance agreement, I must clearly consent it. This sneaky way of generating revenue should be stopped and I need to know what available option I have because I spent so much time fixing this instead of going to work. I 'm not only losing money here, but I also lost time which I 'm supposed to be earning money to iron out these constantly repeating issues. Thanks for your help, XXXX

Complaint: InXX/XX/XXXX, I purchase a dental practice in Florida. As part of the venture, I signed up for a business credit card with American Express. Unfortunately, inXX/XX/XXXX, my dental practice went out of business and a settlement agreement was reach with my bank to write off the remaining loan balance, as the business was sold at a significant loss. I have made good faith efforts to resolve all credits associated with the business transactions. In XX/XX/XXXX, I made a payment to American Express in the amount of {$5000.00} to resolve the business debt. My complaint against American Express is that the company has imposed an exorbitant and unreasonable of fees and interest onto my account. These amounts should be considered usury and should be investigated by all related regulatory, governing bodies. In XXXX, I was charged over {$2000.00} in interest and fees. In an economy where the average consumers yields 2 % -3 % on saving and investments, it should be considered illegal, usury, for companies to exploit consumers exponentially beyond those rates. Moreover, when I signed up with American Express, the alluring introductory rate was nowhere as high as the rates that have been imposed on my account. Furthermore, I request that your office look into these practices. My case is not an isolated incident. Online consumer boards are filled with similar complaints against this company. ( e.g. XXXX XXXX XXXX ). Perhaps the company should be audited for the sake of transparency and public policy. This behavior should not be continually endorsed and permitted. I have expressed my concern to American Express, and have gotten no resolution, instead, the interest and fees continue to increase and to compound. American Express has been unwilling to resolve this issue equitably and ethically.

Complaint: American Express charged my account for a company called XXXX {$110.00} on XXXX XXXX, 2017. I had cancelled this account 2 years ago, and not used it since. I had disputed charges previously with Amex 2 years back when XXXX continued to charge my cancelled account, and Amex had credited me. When I saw the charge again, a year later, I disputed again, and was given a credit by Amex on XXXX XXXX, 2017. Then Amex sent me a letter saying XXXX said I was still a member ( clearly untrue as I have not used the service is more than 2 years in any way ), and they offered no proof. They also recharged my card the {$110.00}. I tried to get in touch with XXXX again, but they have no phone # to call or email, and since I have no account with them, I could not sign into their site either. Amex also told me the charge went to a former Amex card #, not even my existing one demonstrating that the charge is fraudulent. I have tried three times to get an AMEX manager on the phone to resolve this, but they have put me on hold for many hours, and never put a manger on. The supervisor, most recently XXXX ID # XXXX, kept reading that they refused to credit me, as XXXX claims I am still using the service. I am not. Both XXXX and Amex have conspired to charge me, and may have done so repeatedly over the past two years. I am still researching my credit cards to see if Amex has improperly charged me before.

They claim that it was interest on a late fee but was labelled as a Purchase Interest Charge. Complaint: Card issuer, American Express, refuses to send me paper statements despite my request they do so. Their stated position is statements are available electronically and can be printed. Personally, I prefer to receive paper statement in the mail for review and as a payment reminder. I have incurred late fees for delinquent payment, which I will attribute to not being aware a payment was due. I prefer to receive paper statements in the mail as a way to manage my personal finances and payment obligations. I think card issuers should be required to provide paper statements if only upon request. Can you help me with this?

Complaint: American Express - I always keep a well paid balance 's in on my personal and business credit reports. I had one personal and another business credit card. XXXX 2015, I closed both, and paid off the personal account approx 4,000 Dollars, and requested they provide proof of the business account was mine, approx 3,000 Dollars owed. They resisted to provide it to me, and for month 's diverted the calls to another department, in XXXX and collections agency. I communicated with the debt collection agency about my concerns, and American Express eventually provided Bank Statements in XXXX of 2015- I called AMEX Headquarters in XXXX, and XXXX XXXX to discuss and they still resisted to show me the business account belonged to me, and that I was in fact responsible for the balance. When the balance showed up on my personal credit report, I acted straight away and paid if off in Full. I 've used various methods Lawyers, Reporting agencies to try and resolve this matter on my reports. I need to take legal action.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX 2017 I became aware that my card number had been used by someone other then me to make reservations and for some XXXX that I never heard of so Immediately I called to lock my account I had just put {$400.00} o the card earlier that day for some things I had planned to get for my children for school. I checked my account before I went to bed like I do every night to discover my balance was lower then excepted I placed a call to american Express Serve. in all I think It was like 12 unauthorized charges to my account. That 's a XXXX dollars that I could n't get back and I need my money. I discovered them on X/XX/2017 XXXX for 11 charges to XXXX and 1 charge to travel reservations. I sold my truck deposited my money on to my serve card the same day.

Complaint: This complaint is against American Express. I used the credit card to purchase Delta Airline ticket for the amount of {$73.00}. One day prior departure, I went Delta online to cancel the ticket. Before CANCELLING the ticket, DELTA WEB SITE DID NOT INDICATED WHETHER OR NOT IT IS REFUNDABLE, so I went ahead and cancelled one day prior departure. I disputed the charge with AMEX for reason of POOR QUALITY OF SERVICE by Delta, and talked to supervisor XXXX on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX approx. XXXX XXXX EDT. AMEX supervisor was not helping consumers, saying that if the merchant ( DELTA ) wants to charge, they can do whatever they can do and AMEX credit card company has no control on it. I was so shocked that AMEX employee with supervisor capacity does not even know " the quality of goods and services '' is protected by the law. He was more than willing to help closing the account than help solving the issue of quality of goods and service.

Complaint: In response to a promotional offer from American Express and Delta Airlines, I applied for and received a Delta Sky Miles American Express card. The promotion promised a {$50.00} credit on the American Express account and 30,000 miles on my Delta skymiles account, so long as I spent {$1000.00} within the first three months of having the card. I received the card on XXXX XXXX, 2017. I charged over {$1000.00} in the first month and paid that amount in full when I received my first statement. When I did not receive the promotional benefits after I paid the first statement, I contacted American Express. I was told that there could be a several week delay in getting the benefits but that the latest I would receive them would be 3 months after the activation of the card. After 2 months and still no benefits, I called again. The customer service representative assured me that the benefits would be applied no later than XXXX XXXX. When I still did not receive the benefits, I called American Express again on XXXX XXXX. At this time, I was told that the matter would need to be sent to the escalation department and it could take another week or so to resolve. There is no reason that a consumer should have to contact American Express multiple times in order to receive a promotion that American Express and Delta committed to providing.
