Complaint: American Express markets its Delta Reserve card as providing XXXX MQM bonuses at the spend levels of $ XXXX and $ XXXX, annually. On the website americanexpress.com I as a consumer have a function available to me to view statements and activity for the period XX/XX/XXXX through XXXX XXXX, XXXX ( report is attached ). This report agrees with the XX/XX/XXXX Year-End Summary also published by American Express which shows that the net spend on the account for the year is XXXX XXXX. To ensure that I met the $ XXXX spend level for the bonus miles, I managed this through XX/XX/XXXX and ensured that no credits would be issued that would adversely impact the spend. Therefore, I believed that I had met the requirements of the card and would/should be awarded the XXXX MQM bonus miles. American Express has a different way of calculating the spend for this bonus and claims that the eligible spend is {$59000.00}. The difference is not discernable to the consumer from their website which provides this data and therefore is misleading to the consumer. When items that are excluded are included in the summary reports it serves to reinforce a misleading and fraudulent marketing approach by American Express. While the underlying terms and conditions may indicate the exclusion of fees, interest charges etc., the failure of American Express to provide a way for the consumer to track qualifying spend and to fail to note this on any of its spending reports maintains and reinforces its misleading advertising. American Express should be required to report to the consumer the spending amounts that qualify for the bonus if it is different than the amounts being shown on its website or annual summary statement. In the absence, I as a consumer are provided and relied on misleading and potentially fraudulent reporting by American Express. I have contacted American Express to no avail. Attached is their form letter response. While they acknowledge the shortcomings in their website, the answer I was told by a supervisor ( who would not share his name ) was that I as the consumer should have called them directly to have them calculate the qualified spend. In fact, I have done this for XX/XX/XXXX spend levels and was provided incorrect information and was told that they do not have any easy way to calculate the applicable spend. American Express should be required to compensate any consumer with the bonus MQMs at either the $ XXXX or $ XXXX level if their annual summary statement or the website equivalent shows such levels of spending until they can accurately report to the consumer the qualified spend levels they have met. I believe that I should be granted the XXXX MQMs for XXXX for having met the $ XXXX spending threshold and seek your assistance to end this misleading and fraudulent activity on the part of American Express.

Complaint: I applied for the American Express Platinum card with American Express and got approved for the card on XXXX XXXX, 2016. The signup bonus of this card is receiving XXXX Membership Rewards by spending {$3000.00} with the card within 90 days from opening of the account. I met this spending requirement and received XXXX Membership Rewards on XXXX XXXX, 2016. As I noticed the card was not as good as I expected ( for example, the card was unexpectedly not widely accepted by many stores when I was traveling in XXXX, but I could use any Visa or Mastercard credit card ), I asked to close this account in early XXXX, 2016. Before I let the Amex representative to close the account, I asked the representative if I would lose the XXXX Membership Rewards after the account was closed. I was assured by the representative that no Membership Rewards in my account would be lost, including these XXXX Membership Rewards, as long as I kept my Amex Premier Rewards Gold card open, which could keep all my Membership Rewards in my account. After getting this promise from Amex, I asked the representative to close the Platinum card, and kept using my Premier Rewards Gold card ( ending with XXXX ) until now. However, to my great surprise, I found after my Platinum card account was closed, XXXX Membership Rewards were removed from my account on XXXX XXXX, 2016, shown " adjustment ''.

Complaint: We are being harassed and threatened by American Express regarding a Amex Everyday charge card ending in XXXX. I have been repeatedly contacted on several occasions by XXXX XXXX! He has called relatives discussing my debt which is being paid based on the last statement received by American Express based on minimum amount due on the statement. He started utilizing harassing and discriminatory tactics XXXX/XXXXXXXX XXXX and I very distraught regarding these illegal tactics. I have also communicated with American Express with a written letter in XXXX XXXX stating that my family has been experiencing extenuating financial and medical circumstances when my sister was hospitalized for 34 days in ICU and recovering from a major medical condition and stated the amount we could pay. My mom is the assigned manager on my account and has communicated this to American Express as well. This was placed on the application and set-up online in XXXX. If they have deleted anything in their system, it was very unethical when they know I set this up for her to manage. She was also recently contacted again by XXXX XXXX on last week after she told him that the bill was paid based attached statement received from American Express display minimum amount due and she requested that he not contact her again or 3rd parties regarding my account. They contacted 3rd parties on 3-4 different times over the last month. The 3rd party relatives had also requested that they stop contacting them as well but they still wrongfully persisted! My family is going through a difficult time right now and are trying to do our best with keeping up with payments and request that XXXX XXXX or any other collection Representative cease in your illegal and discriminatory tactics against me, as I have paid the minimum amount reflected on the latest attached statement for XXXX XXXX.

Complaint: American Express. i was approved for a Blue Cash Everyday with a 10 % bonus on restaurant purchases. A {$100.00} statement credit after spending {$1000.00} and 0 % interest for 12 months. The card was opened on XXXX XXXX 2017 I made {$130.00} in restaurant purchases between XX/XX/XXXXand XX/XX/XXXX when my first statement cut. On my second statement I spent {$460.00} on restaurant spending. On my third statement I made {$370.00} in restaurant purchases the statement ending XX/XX/XXXX. In the terms and conditions and other places it says sometimes it takes two billing periods to receive bonus Rewards and on chat I have been told 8 weeks anyway I made my first restaurant purchase around XX/XX/XXXX that 's almost 3 months ago and I have not received one dime of the 10 % I 'm supposed to receive on restaurant purchases. If it takes 2 billing Cycles to receive bonus rewards that I should have received bonus rewards for my first statement or if it 's eight weeks I 've should have received a lot more ... .... my main concern is that there have been several complaints online that have said they have signed up for these 10 % bonuses at XXXX and restaurant purchases and have said that Amex has tried to get out of paying them or never paid them saying they did n't sign up for the offer. I have chatted online 5 times with customer service I have spoken to customer service on the phone once or twice I 've been told this has been escalated in a chat to some special investigation team to find out why I have n't gotten paid for my rewards this was on XX/XX/XXXX I asked why is this taking so long I mean I could figure out how much I 've spent in restaurant purchases in 5 minutes but has been almost 6 weeks since they sent it to this investigation team. I was not going to make a complaint until the last statement posted and it was the third statement that I have received. XXXX statements past the first still no bonus rewards from the first statement. I have had a few credit cards and i have not seen this kind of delay on bonus Rewards being deposited into the account. The latest I 've ever seen is the next billing statement. Due to my observations of investigating online I feel concerned that Amex is delaying and delaying because they want you to spend as much as you can on the car and then tell you you did n't sign up for the bonus I 've read that several times. I made my first restaurant purchase about 3 months ago and have not receive 10 % on rewards on my card yet due to my concern I have stopped spending on this credit card at restaurants for fear that they will never pay me on my 10 % .. I believe Amex does this on purpose if the customer does n't think they 're going to get the 10 % then they stop using the card for the 10 % so then they save money by not having to pay you the 10 % on the restaurant purchases because you stopped doing it. It supposedly takes forever to do an investigation on my restaurant spending when you can see on my statements and online immediately how much I 've spent on restaurant purchases. I just do not trust them they say it could take up to 2 billing Cycles to receive Rewards but now it 's past 2 billing cycles and almost to the Third. I did receive the {$100.00} bonus for spending {$1000.00} in 3 months but that took two months to get paid buy a supervisor. but before I asked about the XXXX dollar bonus the supervisor said he could not do that but then a month later another supervisor did. You In the last 3 months I 've spent a little over {$1000.00} in restaurant spending and have yet to receive one penny from that rewards promotion. Another customer said she spent {$1000.00} at XXXX and Amex told her that she did n't sign up for the bonus when I chat online the customer service representative says they can see the restaurant purchases that I have made but they had to send my account to a special investigation team to figure out my restaurant purchases when a regular customer service representative can see it right on their computer screen I just do n't believe their excuses I believe if I did nothing I would never receive any rewards paid out. I have not received any bonuses on restaurant purchases there 's no reason to believe that they would start paying me on the 10 % now. I know AMEX has been fined by the government in the past for issues such as these.

Complaint: This will reference complaint XXXX AMERICAN EXPRESS AND TRAVEL RELATED SERVICES as stated in the previous above captioned complaint AMERICAN EXPRESS continues to fail in examining the facts surrounding my request for credit and removing this from my credit. I was given XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) times by XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX TX. for the wrong diagnosis. The doctor is no longer with the firm. AMERICAN EXPRESS does not take my dispute/complaint seriously and just regurgitates the correspondence received from XXXX XXXX XXXX. A XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to determine the actual cause of the problem. The doctor remarked that there would never be any improvement in the XXXX as a result of the XXXX XXXX done by XXXX XXXX XXXX as they XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. It is my opinion that after all my research and work that AMERICAN EXPRESS 's only concern is keeping a satisfied merchant. Further it is obvious that AMERICAN EXPRESS is ignoring the center of the issue and basing there explanation ( s ) on the fact that the charges are valid because the services were rendered. My dispute ( s ) are valid and AMERICAN EXPRESS needs to realize the validity of my claim ( s ) as the are not frivolous and have merit. Their merchant made a mistake and should not be compensated or rewarded for malpractice. I have tried to reason with AMERICAN EXPRESS but to further prove their lack of concern, each time I call to dispute they refer my calls to collections. AMERICAN EXPRESS is now on their second collection firm, the first being XXXX XXXX and have now given it to another firm ( since XXXX could not get anywhere ) to whom I have written and explained the situation and have asked them to cease and desist from calling me. Clearly AMERICAN EXPRESS is now harassing me. AMERICAN EXPRESS needs to do what is morally correct and charge back the merchant and remove this from my credit.

Complaint: In XXXX of this year ( XXXX ) I was solicited via email to open up an XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX card. I had one years ago and cancelled it several years ago. I called American Express and asked if I would still be eligible to receive the points ( XXXX ) and was assured that I would. I opened up the account, spent well over the needed amount to qualify and waited for my bills, and points to be awarded. After the second statement, I called and asked about my bonus points ( XX/XX/XXXX, I believe ). I talked to XXXX tiers of people ( representative, supervisor, manager ) and was told that I did n't qualify because I previously had this card ( opened it up back in XX/XX/XXXX ). But they would consider it and to call back in two or three weeks. I think they knew at that time that I would n't qualify and they were just putting me off. I called today ( XXXX XXXX, 2017 ), was on the phone well over 30 minutes, talked to three levels of representatives again and was told sorry, no deal. I think this is a classic bait-and-switch, XXXX XXXX-gate, or out and out fraud, whatever you want to call it. We can refer to it as American Express-gate. Thank you, XXXX

Complaint: I applied for this credit card on XX/XX/XXXX with the bonus offer that was promised on charges for first year. Offer stated that it expires on XX/XX/XXXX at that time and was even extended til XX/XX/XXXX. I spent about {$500.00} in first month at restaurants and was expecting 10x points to be posted when statement closed. Upon seeing the points not posted properly, contacted American Express customer service. I was then told to wait few more days as it might take couple weeks for bonus points to post. I kept my restaurant spending going as I was still expecting this to be rectified. In middle of XX/XX/XXXX, I reached out to customer service again and was notified there is no such offer on my account. I was then told that representative will open request with Marketing department and it will take 2-3 weeks for response. I called again in middle of XX/XX/XXXX as I spend over {$1000.00} at restaurants on this card and bonus was still not posting. I was told Marketing department did not make any updates so offer is not applied. I asked to request Marketing department to look at my case again as I was promised something on website and am not receiving it.I gave them another month and called again in end of XX/XX/XXXX. This time I was told my request was denied and that I was not offered this particular offer even though I clearly applied for the card from the page that has the offer. I asked to speak to supervisor and was told nothing can be done. I was then told that based on my history, I would be offered XXXX points instead of XXXX points I should have gotten. I stopped using the card and decided that American Express did n't deserve my business. I also lost out on 2x points for {$50000.00} as well that i would have spent on the credit card if the offer was extended to me. Thank you.

Complaint: I received my monthly bill late on X/XX/2017 with a due date of X/XX/2017. My new bill shows an increasing in my interest rate from 27.99 % to 28.24 %. There is no notification why the rate interested. I paid the minimum payment on time for the previous XXXX bill. Complaint: The account was closed in XX/XX/XXXX, because they said I was in violation of their rules. Basically, I did n't have enough money in the account at the time of the transfer. That 's fine. The issue is that every month since XX/XX/XXXX, I 've gotten emails from them stating that there are insufficient funds for the transfer. Even though they are the ones who closed the account, they are still trying to withdraw money. I 've made numerous calls over the last few years asking them to stop emailing me and to confirm that they have closed the account. First they said their system would n't allow them to stop emailing me. Then they said they got it to stop, but clearly they have n't. I have lots of records of their emails in my account going all the way back to XX/XX/XXXX. I need them to stop bothering me with these emails. I do n't want the idea of someone trying to potentially go after money in my account with this. Nothing I 've done has made a difference.
