Complaint: I have had extreme difficulties in dealing with AmEx previously that were successfully resolved through the cfpb in XX/XX/XXXX. I was very happy with those results and felt that the outcome was very fair. However, when I had my credit score rechecked, AmEx now has deleteriously attributed a late payment from my husbands account to me. AmEx clearly states in their cardmember agreement that the primary card holder is the guarantor on the account and that any cards issued to other individuals are using those cards at the risk to the credit of the cardmember. I did have a card issued to me under his account back in XXXX although my card expired in XXXX. The payments in question are in XXXX. These charges and delinquency should never have been attributed to me and they have damaged my credit score to the point that we are unable to qualify for a mortgage.

Complaint: I previously had an American Express XXXX XXXX credit card. I cancelled that card. American Express then offered me a sign up bonus for their new XXXX XXXX XXXX. I paid {$75.00} dollars XXXX annual fee ) to get this new card. The new card has a different name, different features, a new sign up fee, and also looks different ( XXXX, etc ). On the cards terms and conditions It states that the sign up bonus is not available to applicants who have had this product. XXXX is not giving me the sign up bonus for the XXXX card because they incorrectly claim that the XXXX card and the XXXX card are the same product. For the reasons stated above they are not the same product and American Express should give me my sign up bonus or refund the {$75.00} I paid for the new card.

XX/XX/XXXX Transaction declined and no warning that the maintenance was scheduled, or servers down was sent to any customers. Did not find out until the called to get information and when trying to talk to representative phone goes busy. Now we have several thousand people with American Express credit and prepaid accounts not able to access funds at all since XXXX CST. Still no time frame for a resolution to issue and when funds can be accessed.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I referred my friend to apply the AMEX Gold Delta SkyMiles credit card through the link on my account page online. The referral bonus was XXXX miles. Usually the bonus would arrive in several days but I had not received until XX/XX/XXXX so I contact the AMEX representative online and was told it might take 6-8 weeks to get the bonus. I referred another friend in XX/XX/XXXX and got the referral bonus XXXX miles quickly this time. From last XX/XX/XXXX to this XX/XX/XXXX I contact AMEX representatives online for many times and each time I was told to wait for 6-8 weeks until they would finish the investigation. However when I contact them again today, I was told my reffer bonus offer was not XXXX miles but was XXXX miles per referral! Because I received XXXX miles already so that I would not get any more! I can't believe they told me this! During previous contact online I told the representatives my offer and I also copied the offer from my acount page it was XXXX miles from last XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX. I also told I thought the XXXX miles I got in last XX/XX/XXXX was for my referal in XX/XX/XXXX because my friend applied the card in XX/XX/XXXX got her open account bonus but the one applied in XX/XX/XXXX did not get his open account bonus either! Many of my other friends got the same bonus after they referred successfully from the end of last XX/XX/XXXX to this XX/XX/XXXX. I have been wating for about 5 months and because the refer bonus is not XXXX now that they said my refer offer was always XXXX. I can't trust them any more. That's why I ask CFPB for help.

Complaint: As of today XX/XX/18, at approximately the XXXX EAST I have been unable to make purchases, check the card balance via telephone or online and get money from an ATM machine. There is money available on my card from a payroll direct deposit and the card website states it's unavailable because of scheduled maintenance and when I contact them via phone an automatic.recordng states that " their system is updating, please call back later ''. I tried using an ATM and the receipt states to contact my financial institution. I have been unable to use my card for almost two hours and I need to access my money ASAP. The company has not provided any source of information as to what is going on because no one is answering their phones. I have no access to my cash and no understanding of why. This is a prepaid card and the money that is there is mine. There was no information sent about any scheduled maintenance that was going to happen during this time.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2017, Bluebird American Express wrote me the attached letter stating that I was in violation of Section 22D with no explanation of what that was or gave me an opportunity to dispute. Today, I was told by a representative that it was regarding the disputes I filed or the fact I filed too many. I feel this an unethical company that discourages disputes from the customer. If I wanted to file a dispute over a charge, then it should be my right to find out where my money is going. There was one situation of two where I disputed a charge because the way the charge was named by the vendor was an unknown name which led me to believe that these charges were to be investigated. However, for these charges I emailed Bluebird when I realized and said I remember. Even yet, to suspend or close my account on this basis is nothing less than unethical. I was given no explanation nor was given an opportunity to dispute, which led to the situation I encountered today. I purchased another card, thinking the previous account was closed, and when I attempted to register this card, it wouldn't allow me to register with a {$500.00} balance on it, which I needed to take care of a very serious situation. I called Bluebird customer service and was given the run around, and the wrong information, I was told that I could withdraw from the ATM, which was wrong, and I drove to ATM, only to find out I could not do that without registering the card. I called Bluebird back and they were even more helpful, I talked to someone named XXXX in Account Protection Services and he was unable and unapologetically unable to resolve my situation. This representative also insisted that there were no headquarters or no entity I could file complaint with. I informed him that I was going to record him, he didn't agree and so I really did not record the conversation but he didn't want it recorded because he wasn't being truthful I suspect. Every company have someone they report to or higher than them. I wouldn't have had this problem with my current card if Bluebird had not unethically and unjustly suspended my previous card for no reason or without an explanation without my input or opportunity to dispute. That is evil and disgusting.

Complaint: They will not refund the full initial cost of the card nor honor the Terms & Agreement ( T & A ) for the welcome bonus offer portion. AMEX offered a welcome promotion bonus offer for their Delta Platinum Card of XXXX points with a spending of {$3000.00} within 90 days. The card initiated a {$190.00} fee as part of the sign up T & A. AMEX Admits that this offer was assigned to my account. Spending limit was met within 92 days. The T & A states that the bonus offer will be credited to the account within 6-8 weeks. It's been 12 weeks and AMEX took no action to provide the bonus offer until complaint was made. AMEX reports 6-8 weeks requirement for investigation to be completed with no commitment that the original bonus offer will be provided. Also told that they will not refund the full amount of the initial {$190.00} fee. Consumer has to wait 18-20 weeks by AMEX estimation for a decision to be made. Under this scenario the consumer would only receive a {$35.00} refund due to the prorate and no bonus offer if AMEX does not award. This is deceptive, misleading. They will not refund the full initial cost of the card nor honor the T & A.

Complaint: I got an e-mail from American express on XX/XX/XXXX inviting me to apply for XXXX XXXX XXXX credit card and get XXXX XXXX miles welcome bonus if I spend {$1000.00} or more within 3 months. I got the card approved. I activated the card and checked about the bonus. I was told I will not get the promised XXXX mile bonus even if I spend over {$1000.00} within 3 months as I had gotten a similar bonus previously during XX/XX/XXXX. I read the e-mail and all conditions for the XXXX mile bonus. No where it says that those people who had previously gotten bonus are not eligible. I talked to American express customer service rep. She said that it is the company policy even if it does not state anywhere to the customer. This means American express knew that I will not get the welcome bonus and still sent me an e-mail promising the XXXX miles bonus.

Complaint: I received an American Express Delta Skymiles promotion in the mail that offered me XXXX miles if I spend {$1000.00} in 3 months. I signed up for the card online and was approved When I received the card in the mail, the welcome kit mentioned nothing about the promotion I had signed up for and was approved. I called American Express and asked for the details of the promotion and confirmation that I will receive the XXXX miles once I spend the {$1000.00}. The first couple phone calls I was reassured that I will receive the promotion benefits and they would send out a welcome kit saying so, I never received anything in the mail. My final phone call was XX/XX/XXXX when I was told that I won't be receiving the promotion because I had had an American Express card before. Then I was told by the supervisor that the promotion wasn't even from American Express but was from Delta. So now they are just full of excuses to avoid holding up their end of the deal and giving me the promotion. Just to note, This promotion received in the mail was addressed to me and it included my Delta Skymiles number. Whether this was a promotion from American Express or Delta or a joint promotion, someone needs to hold up their end of the deal and do what is right. I expect the promotion offering me XXXX miles once I spend {$1000.00} to be sent to me in writing. Thank you,

They have sent me numerous legal documents and filed judgements against me but as many times as I have called their office and tried to speak to an attorney, they are never available. I am only able to speak with collection agents and Managers. These agents and Managers are extremely pushy and insist on getting me to pay amounts I simply can not afford. I have a number of debts that I am trying to resolve and they keep threatening Garnishment and will only make 3 month payment arrangements so they can try to push me to higher and higher amounts. Even then, theyare clear to let me know that they will not remove the threat of garnishment unless I pay in full. They refuse to make an affordable payment agreement with me. I am going to send them what I can but am in great fear that they will garnish my wages even though I am paying them regularly.

Complaint: The below information was also sent directly to American Express on XX/XX/XXXX. I have yet to receive a response from them. When I called a few weeks ago to check in, the agent said my paperwork was " lost '' but that they found my fax and were working on it. I have been very patient but felt it was now necessary to report this through the CFPB. -- -- -- -- -- On Monday, XX/XX/XXXX, I was informed about an offer to add authorized users to my Platinum card. I was informed by several agents both with Platinum Customer Service and New Accounts that adding authorized users would not result in a hard inquiry for myself or the authorized users. Therefore, I went ahead and added an authorized user to my account. Later in the week of XX/XX/XXXX, I was notified that I had received a hard credit inquiry on my XXXX account. I am not ware if the inquiry posted to other bureaus, but I have attached selected pages from my XXXX account as proof of the hard credit inquiry on XX/XX/XXXX. After learning about the hard inquiry, I contacted American Express on XX/XX/XXXX to understand the situation. Several agents again said they had never heard of hard inquiries resulting from adding authorized users. I am requesting that this hard inquiry be removed from my XXXX account as well as from the other two bureaus, if applicable. I was directly informed by multiple agents on recorded calls that adding authorized users would not result in a hard credit for either myself or my authorized users.
