Complaint: American Express has long been in the esteem of its millions of card members, not to mention mine as well. American Express has globalized and things have changed ; no longer is it important for AE to keep their promises, and honor their word. Their new singular oath is to profit, at all costs apparently. On or about XX/XX/XXXX, American Express solicited me with an inducement if my business met certain spending levels. By XX/XX/XXXX, the business exceeded the spending levels, and AE refused to keep its promise and dishonored themselves. AE read the transcripts of our phone conversations, and despite hearing their own agents make those same promises, they decided that AE would be better served by not keeping to the agreement. American Express then took retaliatory action against every single account that my business has with AE after I complained about their disreputable practices. American Express has severely damaged our 16 year business relationship through their new disingenuous global schemes. I never thought that American Express would lower its standards to that of the XXXX XXXX. Buyer Beware.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2018, my daughter attempted to withdraw {$200.00} from a XXXX ATM XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Texas from my American Express Serve, prepaid card. The ATM displayed several error messages like card reader issues. Her last attempt she stated the machine made sounds as if the money was transmitted, however the cash never dispensed. I contacted American express and initiated a dispute. I faxed the required documents at least twice within the ten day time frame. On XX/XX/18 American express completed their investigation stating the ATM confirmed the withdrawal. On XX/XX/18 while using the same ATM the machine displayed the amount requested of {$500.00} was too large, I then requested {$400.00} and the same message appeared. I lowered my request to {$100.00}. The machine made sounds as if the money was dispensing. Took longer than normal. Finally a message appeared on screen stating they could not dispense the cash and to contact my bank. I contacted American express again regarding both transactions and I am awaiting response. I attempted to contact them on the first dispute but their automated phone system continued to drop calls. I also requested a copy of their investigation report and have been refused that copy.

Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX I received a targeted offer from Delta to receive XXXX Delta Skymiles and a {$50.00} credit by applying for the American Express Delta Skymiles Credit card. The provision was to spend a minimum {$1000.00} within the first 3 months in order to receive the miles and credit and to have the account in good standing. They require 8 weeks to award the miles and credit. I received the credit card in XX/XX/XXXX. The spending was requirement was quickly met within the first month and the account balance always paid in full on time. It is now almost XX/XX/XXXX ( 6 months ) and after 4 dialogues with American Express, they still have not awarded the miles. Even elevated to management they say " they - some remote awards center '' are working to resolve it. Each dialogue results in a note being sent to the department that awards miles and that it will take another 24 business days to cycle. This is a clear case of shenanigans. I believe American Express could resolve this quickly if they chose to and probably wish consumers would just give in and forget about the miles.

Complaint: I opened an American Express account XX/XX/2017 and it was connected to the XXXX program. I have been using the card and making my payments on time each month. This month I went to make a payment and in bold red letters across the top it stated ACCOUNT IS CLOSED. There was no explanation. I called and was told they discontinued the XXXX card. I spoke with a rep and a manager. They will not transfer my account in good standing to a different type of AE card. They offered for me to just reapply if I want to stay with AE. Their actions are going to negatively affect my credit score act across the board. They told me they decided the XXXX program was not working for them - not enough interest. I asked why there wasn ' t any notice and they told they sent one in XX/XX/XXXX. They mailed it to an address in the XXXX after I called and explained that we were staying somewhere else temporarily and gave them a new address. If an account is in good standing, it should be transferred to a new AE card. Consumers should not be negatively affected by a credit card companies actions.

Complaint: This is concerning AMEX credit card practice of charging " Trailing Interest ''. This practice charges interest on a monetary debt that is has been paid. I was charge interest XX/XX/XXXX - XX/XX/XXXX for a debt that had been paid on XX/XX/XXXX. How is it legal to charge interest on money that is no longer a debt? XX/XX/XXXX charge balance due. XX/XX/XXXX balance paid in full. ( less than 24 hrs late ) XX/XX/XXXX AMEX interest of {$69.00} was added to my account for XXXX charges. XX/XX/XXXX balance paid in full ( including XXXX interest charges ) XX/XX/XXXX balance was due ( but already paid ). XX/XX/XXXX AMEX interest of {$46.00} was added to my account as " Trailing Interest ''. AMEX claims this Trailing Interest is for the carrying over of a balance, but I only carried over 1 day ... ..SO HOW DO THEY GET TO CHARGE ME FOR THE OTHER 22 DAYS?

Complaint: I purchased a round trip flight from XXXX, OH to XXXX, XXXX, XXXX. The total cost for two tickets was approximately {$2900.00}. My return flight was scheduled to land in XXXX on XX/XX/2017. However, the airline removed us from the connecting flight from XXXX to XXXX for no reason. We landed on time to make the connection. Then the next flight was delayed since there was no pilot. We did not arrive to XXXX until the next day, XX/XX/2017. I provided documentation to American Express. The merchant provided no documentation regarding terms or conditions as there were no terms to remove passengers from flights or to reschedule landings for a different day. I am requesting {$600.00} credit, {$300.00} for each ticket is more than fair. It took us more than 27 hours for the total trip so we should have not had to pay this amount.

Complaint: I am missing XXXX points for my successful referral of the Amex Delta golden credit card in XX/XX/2017. I have contacted the customs service for serval times about this issue but still not resolved. They just closed my case. After I have submitted the first complaint through their customer service and they asked me to provide additional information about referral individuals. Then, I gave those to them and after several weeks they said they could not find a clue. After I submitted the second complaint from CFPB, they asked me to provide these individual referrals information again. I just could not understand. This is my third complaint and I attached their names, addresses and even card numbers. I think they should locate their application by those information. If this time they just simply said they could not validate the referrals. I will think this is a fraud approach to cheat customers. My friends have already had their open account bonus which is XXXX through my referral. why could not I get my successful referral bonus? I want to mention again the two XXXX bonus points already shown in my account should come from two people since they applied for the card on the same date and not as the custom said which two XXXX points were from one person.
