Complaint: Having reached the Medallion Qualification Miles ( MQM ) benefit thresholds in XX/XX/XXXX for both Amex Delta Reserve and Amex Delta Platinum cards, I was instructed by an Amex representative in early XX/XX/XXXX ( on a recorded line ) that if I wanted to receive more MQMs for the year I could apply for a SECOND Delta Platinum card. Provided I spent the required amounts on the card within 2017 I would get the MQM bonus. I did so and reached the first of two thresholds on my new Delta Platinum card on XX/XX/2017 by spending {$25000.00}. This entitled me to XXXX MQMs. Then, on XX/XX/2017 I reached the second threshold by spending another {$25000.00}, entitling me to an additional XXXX MQM bonus. The maximum MQMs per year is XXXX and I was instructed that this was per card.
These MQMs never arrived in my account at XXXX and I have been given the runaround by Amex ever since. Upon further ( and tedious ) investigation with Amex I am told that I would not get the additional MQM 's because I already received them on a similar class of card ( my original Amex Delta Platinum ). This contradicts the sales pitch and guidance I was given by an Amex representative in early XX/XX/XXXX prior to applying for and receiving my card who told me that I would receive them for each card provided I achieved the spending thresholds for each card independently. I am NOW told that their policy is based on " card class '' rather than " per card '', however they are unable to send me a copy of this policy, or point out anywhere on the web or otherwise where this policy was publicized before, during, or after the application process. Not only that, the agent I spoke with last actually told me " that I should have asked! " .I would have NO IDEA that this policy existed and would therefore never know to ask this question. I applied for this credit card solely on the basis on this representation as a consumer relaying on the information provided to me by American Express Company representatives. Therefore, it is fraudulent. I was misled into applying for a credit card where Amex receives ( a ) a substantial annual fee, ( b ) a fee from the merchants for the {$50000.00} in spending I made, and ( c ) potential interest on any unpaid balance ( s ).
I satisfied the spending requirement for {$50000.00} between XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/2017 and feel treated wrongly by Amex for their withholding these XXXX MQMs. They opened what I describe as a " fake '' investigation to listen to the recorded call in early XX/XX/XXXX where I was guided into applying but I'm told by " a supervisor '' that the outcome of the investigation would only be reprimanding the phone rep, not giving me the MQMs. It has been weeks. Promised phone calls are not returned, I received no written indication that an investigation has been opened and believe my first course of action is this complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. As noted below, I support publication of this complaint on its website for the protection of other consumers. Further escalation, including a lawsuit, is likely to follow if a satisfactory resolution ( below ) is not obtained in a reasonable timeframe.

Debt was result of identity theft
Complaint: Wrote a letter to American Express explaining I was victim of identity theft, fraud and being scammed. The executive office reached out to me and told me not to worry they would investigate the mater and get it resolved for me. Today I discovered they sent all my accounts to XXXX XXXX for a debt collection. I informed XXXX XXXX to cease and desist contacting me or family or friends. Send all correspondence by mail. Additionally, there was fraud on my American Express accounts and I am gathering a police report to file. American Express failed to resolve the fraud and instead sent it to collection and shut my cards off.

Complaint: Dates : I was supposed to get the reward points by XXXX 2017 Amounts : XXXX reward points Actions : I have contacted the company ( American Express ) several time via Live chat, The representative admitted that I am eligible for the offer and filed a case.
There was no answer after the 8 weeks of investigation that they promised.
I've contacted them again but they was just asking my understanding.

Complaint: On XXXX XXXX in the late afternoon I called AMEX platinum card, where my husband was the primary card holder. My husband passed away on XXXX XXXX. I called to close the account on which I was a secondary card holder. I was told by the company that if I did not pay the balance of {$3300.00} by the end of that day that the account would be turned over to a collection agency. Out of fear, and being in shock still from the death, I was intimidated into paying these expenses immediately.
Now that I have spoken to others I am being told that this was a brutal abuse to avoid having the company insurance pay the balance and that I should not have been held responsible for these expenses nor should I have been threatened into paying this immediately, especially in such an emotionally vulnerable state.
I feel completely abused by the disgusting display of brutality and abuse from a company that charged hundreds of dollars a year in fees and proceeded to keep my husbands earned points and blackmail me into paying medical bills and funeral expenses under pressure.
I will add that these recent expenses were spent on my husbands medical bills for his XXXX treatments and his cremation expenses. Is it necessary for AMEx to steal from a heartbroken widow?

Complaint: I paid my credit card using bill pay. I have never been late on a payment. For some reason they did not pick up the payment. I submitted all proof for a year over and over again that I paid the card. The month after they did not pick up the payment, I paid the card in full minus the late fees, and increased interest. I have been a customer for probably fifteen years and never had any problem, the account was paid in full but they kept sending be bills and adding more interest. I dealt with them month after month for a year in writing. On XX/XX/XXXX I called and asked to speak to a manager. The man I spoke to understood my frustration and said I don't know how long it will take to resolve this, but if you send {$90.00} of the {$340.00} balance that is due, I will make it all go away. After, dealing with this for months, I decided to take him up on his offer. I have his name and reference #. To my surprise I got another statement today, XX/XX/XXXX with a balance due of {$60.00}. I tried to call them, but can not get through as I do not have the whole fifteen digit account number. I only have a partial number as the account is closed and I no longer have the card. You can not even talk to anyone, now with out a full card #. I am just done.

Complaint: In 2014 my credit cards and driver license and SSN information & cell phone was stolen. I filed a police report but I lost the police report is been 2 years. They used my credit cards and accumulated total of {$30000.00} dept. I called the credit card company but they told me I have to pay the depts around {$8000.00} on each card. I been trying to get a good paying job but I have collection accounts that are not mine and the sad part I cant get hired. Please help me out I cant move on with my life. Thank you.

Complaint: As previously complained of in CFPB complaint # XXXX closed XX/XX/XXXX, as well as CFPB complaint # XXXX, closed XX/XX/XXXX- American Express BlueBird XXXX has again closed my account this day XX/XX/XXXX, allegedly under BMA section 22D again. This pattern of BlueBird arbitrary closing my account has not been explained except for the phrase : " feedback has been provided to the appropriate parties regarding this matter '', but yet this behavior continues to happen about every thirty 30 days. Being a service-connected XXXX & otherwise homeless U.S. Veteran, I must have confidence in the ability to access the little funds I do have. If I am violating the BMA, I should be told with specification on how and when this occurs. If BlueBird simply does not want me to have an account, they should tell me so that I can make other arrangements for prepaid services ; rather than leaving the impression... " the appropriate parties '' have been provided feedback regarding this " re-peated matter ''. In view of my pervious CFPB complaints, it seems that I am being personally targetted with this " account-closing harassment, '' for unspecified reasons.
