Complaint: I received the American Express XXXX XXXX card in XX/XX/XXXX. Part of the promotion was that I would receive a free weekend night certificate to use at any hilton hotel upon payment of the annual fee after holding the card for 1 year. At some point in XXXX Amex had a brand change where they automatically changed all Amex XXXX XXXX cards to Amex XXXX XXXX cards. This rebrand included new terms where consumers now needed to spend over {$15000.00} to receive a free weekend night at a XXXX XXXX. These WERE NOT the conditions to receive the free weekend night when I applied for the XXXX XXXX.
I have held the ( former ) XXXX XXXX card for over 1 year and paid the annual fee. After repeated attempts to work with Amex to grant me the free weekend night certificate, I have not yet received the certificate. I have acted in good faith and fulfilled all of my obligations under the credit card agreement that I signed up for. I want Amex to honor their obligations and provide me the certificate as promised.

Complaint: I was a victim of hurricane Irma last year and during this time my payments on two cards fell behind and were charged off as bad debt. I contacted the company before the charge off was initiated to try and get an extension and they agreed to at the time. I noticed that the account was charged off anyway and this has company ruined my credit after I was told differently by phone.

Complaint: In XX/XX/2018 I filed a diaper against merchant XXXX for {$110.00}. XXXX 's was charged back on XX/XX/2018 which they claim they sent the funds back via charge back. It if now XX/XX/2018 and American Express Serve disputes team can not find the funds and they keep asking me for the same documents I've provided them over and over again with via email. Which I have confirmation saying those documents were received. Today I called checking status once again, speaking with disputes supervisor promised find would be credited to my account today and that the dispute was filed under wrong label. Always a different story.
Calling later that day funds went posted to my account I was told, still investigating due to insufficient documents. That's ridiculous

Complaint: The American Express Serve claim to offer cash back, & after redemption the system takes back more money than they offered! On XX/XX/18 the system offered {$2.00} cash back and the account already had fund in the available balance. Then on XX/XX/18, the account went up and down consistently for 72 hours! Going from a {$3.00} balance to a - {$2.00}. After being negative it went back to a positive {$.00}, and the back to negative! The balance was changing without fees, transactions and no pending transactions either! Called in to address system mistakes, and the supervisor " XXXX XXXX '' expressed he seen the discrepancies. This is after I provided all of the dates, times, & amounts in regards so it was basically me holding his hand throughout. While sitting in the phone for a two hour hold, XXXX expressed he was getting help from another supervisor and wanted to place me on hold again! The last hold was longer because he was clearly at a loss, & hung up the phone because I don't have another 2 hours to spear. Just called back " again '' and the escalating team refused to file complaints, and did admitted to this system issue. They refused to give me a timeline for a resolution and this is the customer service they are charging me for. The so called " escalation '' CSR refused to give names, use Id 's and neglect to acknowledge this has been a on going issue after pointing out other occurrences. Just a we're so sorry, over and over! Never cussed or yelled at anyone, because I work in a call center as well. Once most agents noticed the discrepancies, they hung up in my face so this totaled about 10+ calls. This ordeal took a full day and they still neglected to address/resolve the issue. Since these call centers are located over sea ; they have no regulations. American Express is based within the U.S and should held to our guidelines no matter where the call center is based. The neglect has been ongoing and it is time to hold them accountable ...

Overcharged for something you did purchase with the card
Complaint: American Express is a disgraceful company. I asked them on multiple and multiple occasions to give me a refund, send me a check. I have a - {$200.00} balance on balance. I asked them several times months ago, THEY REFUSED TO SEND ME A CHECK. One customer service guy even laughed at me for Having an XXXX Name, VERY RACIST. Why did they not send the check? I had trouble with buying food and rent. I asked them multiple mulitple times, send me a check. And then when they finally send me check, i asked what compensation do you have for FAILING to ABIDE by contracts, and failing to following government consumer law, and failing to provide customer service, or abide by California policy. They said NOTHING, and laughed at me, it is like they do everything to disrespect/fraud people, THEY STOLE my money for a while, laughed at my face, and did nothing.

Complaint: In XXXX of 2018 I was issued a new American Express Corporate Card ( AmEx ). On XX/XX/18, I rented a car and the car rental company charged my Corporate Card. When the statement arrived, I paid the amount in full of {$82.00} on XX/XX/18.
An email statement was received from American Express in mid-XXXX with a {$82.00} balance. Immediately, I called AmEx to verify payment and they informed me the payment I previously made did not post to the account. After gathering info from my bank transaction, I contacted our corporate administrator and after some research, the administrator informed me I paid the amount to my previous American Express Corporate Card account.
On the same day, I contacted an AmEx representative, was informed AmEx could not either apply the amount from the old account to the new account, nor are they able to electronically transfer the funds back into my bank account and working with a representative, a check was going to be mailed to me for the balance of {$82.00} from the previous card.
On XX/XX/18, XX/XX/18, XX/XX/18, XX/XX/18 and XX/XX/18 I contacted AmEx because I did not receive the check.
