Complaint: I am writing presently in wish to receive your help. At the present time I am working on reviewing my credit, paying down my balances, and pursuing better credit worthiness. You play a significant role in this procedure. I am inquiring about the account number referenced in this complaint.
I see you have reported me 30 days late to the credit bureaus ( XXXX, XXXX and XXXX ) on XX/XX/2017 and I am writing this in order to have this remark pulled back. I had believe I had made all my payments on time, the only thing I could possibly imagine, is that my statement didn't get to me in time.

Problem with rewards from credit card
Complaint: I have been a 20 plus year customer, in good standing, with American Express. I have found that I am not being credited with reward points as indicated the credit card agreement on an annual fee based credit card. I have repeatedly tried to resolve this issue with American Express customer service to no avail. I believe this is a fraudulent practice to charge me for a card and not provide the promised benefit.

1. The policy goes on to state that some of the information CAN be limited : " Why can't I limit all sharing of personal information?
Federal law gives you the right to limit only sharing for affiliates ' everyday business purposes - information about your creditworthiness affiliates from using your information to market to you sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing. " PROBLEM : I wish to limit the following : " sharing for affiliates ' everyday business purposes - information about your creditworthiness '' ... yet there is no number to call expressly to opt out, nor is there an electronic means of doing so through their website. Saying that I can click an unsubscribe link is not satisfactory, as third party offers do not come from American Express, they come from the third party.
If I do not recognize the sender, I am not clicking ANY link in their email for safety concerns, like any prudent email user -- for example, spammers ( who don't care if you unsubscribe or not ) will often hide viruses when an unsubscribe link is clicked inside of a malicious email.
Or, spammers can track your clicks on any link inside the email in order to verify whether the email inbox is being monitored by the consumer, in a malicious means of " confirming '' the email to be active and monitored by the consumer.
I wish for American Express to be more clear and provide a more adequate means of communicating consumers ' rights and the express steps a consumer can take to quickly limit sharing of personal information -- BOTH online, via an adequately sufficient and reasonable process for electronically opting out on their website ( not within a random email from a partner ) ; as well as via phone, the number which is expressly stated for the purpose of opting out -- as opposed to simply a general, generic " help '' line " questions '' -- the description of which is obviously too ambiguous, language which likely helps them with their goal of reducing the number of consumers who wish to limit their sharing of their data ; this is obviously the intention, as any marketer would know -- due to the fact that consumer financial data is some of the most lucrative [ and not to mention VULNERABLE! ] consumer data being monetized for ancillary revenue beyond their primary business of providing consumers with credit and charge card accounts.
I appreciate your commitment to improving your policies to present more clear and concise privacy and data sharing standards.

Problem with fees
Complaint: American Express is charging not only late fees but also delinquency fees right on top of the late fee. At just over 2 % of the balance, the delinquency fee can be 2 or 3x that of a late charge plus you still get charged the late fee. I was also informed that they would not guarantee that they would not charge a late fee on a balance that is only the amount of previous late fees. Essentially late fees on late fees. This account has a heavy volume of usage and American Express receives large payments at least monthly if not more often.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I added an authorized cardholder who is my girlfriend 's brother. Then I tried to use my Member Rewards of XXXX Platinum to transfer to XXXX miles. However, " This action will not be completed at this time because your account is currently being reviewed to make sure all eligible purchases meet qualifying criteria. '' the above statement shown on Amex website. Till now, I still haven't received any email or mail regarding " Member Rewards Review ''. It will take six to ten weeks to finish this process ; stated by the agent. I think I deserve every single point I earn from purchases. Amex should draw a line that some points might be suspicious if they want to investigate instead of having all points frozen. That makes nonsense for customers to pay {$550.00} annual fee to earn points.

Card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase or transfer
Complaint: On XX/XX/18 I returned a previously purchased item back to the store ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) with the expectation of having the funds returned to the Bluebird card that was utilized for the purchase, in the amount of {$44.00}.
On XX/XX/18, I noticed that the {$44.00} was pending to be returned to my account, but for some reason the returned item said the return was " under review ''. I contacted the American Express Bluebird company to get an explanation of what " under review '' meant. The customer service representative stated that its under review because the monies had not yet been received from the store returning the monies. So I stated that its untrue that monies are waiting to be received, because XXXX XXXX XXXX confirmed that the monies was returned to my card on XX/XX/18.
I asked to speak with a supervisor ( XXXX ) who again stated that my account says " under review '' because the monies had not yet been received. The supervisor stated that the money would not be released into my account until XX/XX/18.
I asked the supervisor how could the money not be received when it's stated in the account activity. The supervisor stated that all she could tell me was that I will have the funds released on XX/XX/18.
I have never experienced this scenario before with this company. Anytime my monies have been returned on a purchase, I had my money released to my account.
The American Express Bluebird card company has not been helpful at all.
In addition, in the past I have had to recoup monies from the company for ATM fees that were never supposed to be charged. The company is unethical in its practices, and they are holding onto my money after its already been released by the company.

Complaint: I opened an XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX card in XX/XX/2017. When signing up for the card, I put in my XXXX account number. I am supposed to get a free night certificate on my one year anniversary.
Somehow, on XX/XX/XXXX, American Express changed the XXXX account number on my file to that of my brothers. This itself is another privacy issue. I called them 3 times about changing this back, but the person on the phone could not do it.
Anyway, one year has passed, and now when I check on the status of my free night certificate, they tell me that it has been issued already. To the wrong account. They tell me to talk to XXXX. I talk to XXXX and they said to talk to Amex.
Amex tells me that they have no idea how the system changed my XXXX account number to my brother. In my earlier monthly statements, the correct XXXX account number is there. Somehow, that changed in XX/XX/XXXX.
After talking to the chat help, they finally changed the number to my correct one. However, the free night certificate has already been sent to the wrong account.
Amex can not cancel the cert and reissue another one. They also said they can not compensate me the points equivalence ( XXXX XXXX points ). They have wasted about 10 hours of my time on this issue which started with a data issue and privacy breach.

Complaint: in XXXX my personal info was compromised, my American express plum card was taking over by a XXXX XXXX, fraud charges were made on account, my address was also changed, I called and reported the breach to American express and changed back the address the account was closed.
they credited back the XXXX charges in XX/XX/XXXX and in XX/XX/XXXX put bck the charges and when I called them they told me they sent letters to me to the fraud address and I did not reply so they closed the fraud case and put account into collection.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I purchased a pre-paid American Express gift card for {$270.00} through spa in California. I gave the card to my daughter. When she went to use the card, she was told it had no money on it. She contacted American Express ' gift card unit and was told that someone made 3 charges on the card on XX/XX/XXXX. Since the card was never out of her possession, both the card number, the CVC and the expiration date of the card must have been stolen as two of these charges were made on line. American Express refuses to compensate me for this loss saying that they don't do that even though the number was apparently stolen. I reviewed their agreement and it totally avoids any paragraph that addresses such theft. I would think that such theft is an inside job. In speaking with the XXXX XXXX, they indicated that they dropped American Express because they have had similar problems. I would expect that the company would be concerned about such hacking of card numbers but they seem totally disinterested in tracking down these thefts. One representative said that once the pre-paid card is issued they have no further responsibility as to what happens to the card relative to fraud or theft ; only if the card is lost or stolen. Why would anyone want to buy an American Express pre-paid card if it is subject to hackers and has no protection? I think American Express should make that a clear disclaimer on these type of cards like tobacco companies warn you of the risk of XXXX.

Complaint: I have had an AMEX card since XX/XX/XXXX it is a Delta Sky miles card XXXX XXXX XXXX it has an expiry date of XX/XX/XXXX. This year American Express indicated that my card was being converted to a Gold Card against my will and would now have an annual fee of $ XXXX. The prorated fee for this 1/2 year was over {$50.00}. I had over XXXX miles on my prior skymiles card that XXXX, an AMEX representative, told me I was in danger of loosing if I didn't activate the new account. I had many of these miles for many years. I told XXXX it was extortion. She offered me another account that was free, however, she instructed me I had to activate the Sky Miles Card or I would lose the miles. I made a complaint number : XXXX with XXXX. I called AMEX on XX/XX/XXXX because of an email sent on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX from AMEX indicating that I would have to CONFIRM receiving the new card " to avoid an interruptions when using your card. '' My old card had an expiry of XX/XX/XXXX. I don't know why I can't continue to use that until it expires.
